Chapter One:

"Here you go Mr.Weasley, Mr.Potter, Mr.Finnigan, Mrs.Granger, .....Oh, and of course Mr.Longbottom." Professor Mcgonagall said while handing out schedules in the Great Hall. Harry didn't really want to read it and know what classes they were going to have, but Ron ruined that option. "We both have the same schedules Harry! But we have most of our classes with the Slytherins again this year. On Monday we start out with Charms, then Divination, double Potions, Transfiguration, and double..WHAT! Harry, did you sign us up for double Arithmancy?"

"What! No I certainly did not! Let me have a look at that schedule! It must be a mistake. I'd never sign up for Arithmancy!" Harry snatched back his schedule and skimmed it over. "This can't be possible, Ron! I'd fail for sure!" "If you failed and had gotten a zero, then I'd still have a lower grade than you, Harry!"

"Ahem", came a voice from behind them. "I signed you up for Arithmancy. I thought you might need it this year." Harry and Ron turned around and saw none other than Hermione Granger. Harry and Ron shot up out of their seats. "You WHAT!" They both said together. "Well I thought I'd expect a 'thank you Hermione'." "Your lucky you're not expecting something else, Hermione!" Ron shot at her. Harry and Ron glared at her. "Is there any way to cancel these classes!" Harry said while still glaring at her. "Ummm..well." "Let the Feast...begin!" yelled Dumbledore. And Hermione quickly sat down beside Ginny and Neville not daring to look at Harry and Ron who were talking and nodding their heads in disgust. Hermione put her arms over her plate and rested her head on her arms. Just then food appeared and there was mashed potatoes all over her arms and a little in her hair but she was distracted. She was looking at Draco Malfoy with disgust just like what Harry and Ron had done to her. She could see Draco mouth out Mudblood then start laughing and look at Professor Snape who indeed saw what Draco had mouthed since he was smirking.

After the feast was over Harry and Ron went past Hermione and purposely bumping her in the shoulder as they past. Hermione looked as if she was about to cry. She went straight up to her dormitory and cried in her pillow. "What's wrong Hermione?" Ginny asked as she saw a tear roll of the pillow. "Oh it's nothing. Just your brother Ron and Harry are mad at me because I signed them up for Arithmancy." "Oh", Ginny turned away as if she saw something. "No wonder they wouldn't say anything to me when I asked them. They just shoved me aside. Actually it was only Ron who shoved me. Harry just wouldn't look at me." A few tears were still left on Hermione's cheek and were gradually rolling down her soft skin onto her pillow.

It was morning and Harry and Ron were getting dressed and ready for Charms. They both looked rather pale. This time it wasn't double Potions that was upsetting them, it was double Arithmancy. They still couldn't believe that Hermione would sign them up for Arithmancy when she knows very well that they could never pass Arithmancy even if they tried!

"Good thing O.W.Ls were last year, Harry, cause Hermione said that, that was the most toughest test for even her to take." Ron said. "Please don't say her name around me." Said Harry stiffly. "Right." Said Ron, his ears turning red. They were now in the Charms room. Professor Flitwick was on top of his books once again giving the days lessons.

Once that was over they went to Divination, then Transfiguration. After Arithmancy Harry and Ron felt horrible. They got embarrassed in front of the whole class. They couldn't a single question the professor asked them. The only thing that Harry was happy about was that the day was over.
