Disclaimer: It's not mine. It never will be. Acceptance is the first step
to recovery.
Warnings: None really. The second in the series I started with 'Orchids and Roses', this one is from the perspective of Ken's lover, whoever that is. Again, just a chance to put gentle words to people who are often portrayed as so hard.
Please enjoy. R + R.
____________________________________________________________________________ _____ Chocolate and Diamonds
He's sleeping now. Lying in my arms, so quietly, almost child-like in his innocence, his grace. I love his passion. And I love his exuberance. But what I love the most is when he's quiet like this, with me.
He stirs, brushing his chocolate locks against my cheek in his soft slumber. His dark eyes, hidden behind closed eyelids, shift gently as he snuggles closer in my embrace. Chocolate. Ken's made of chocolate. His skin, his eyes, his hair, his personality - all chocolate.
That's what I thought when I first met him, at least. Soft chocolate. I wondered how this chocolate boy, who seemed so close to melting, could live through what we do. What he does. I discovered he's not all chocolate after all. Once you get past the chocolate covering, he's got a wall around him so thick even I had trouble penetrating it. Diamonds. A wall of diamonds to protect his heart - a wall no one sees during the day.
That wall. . . it hasn't always worked for him. Kase broke it. I broke it. But he keeps on piecing it back together, protecting himself. I thought he must be diamond all the way to the core, using the chocolate as a mask - like I use mine. But that's a lie, too.
I kiss his forehead as he shifts and moans, pulling me more tightly into his arms. I smile gently. Ken really is made of chocolate, under all that diamond. His shell may be diamond, and his eyes can be as hard when he is angry, but I know.
His heart? His love? Diamonds? No.
Pure chocolate.

There we go - second one done. Kinda sappy but hey - sometimes you need that. Who's Ken's lover? Whoever you want it to be, I suppose. Bradley foresees you reviewing this fic. . . don't make me punish him! ^-^
