"Please," the woman begged, her distraught eyes meeting each Gunman in turn. "They have a stranglehold on my daughter. I don't know what to do anymore or how to get my daughter back." Her voice caught in her throat as a tear slipped down her cheek. "Please help me."

Byers, Langly, and Frohike exchanged knowing looks then Byers stood up and led her to the door whispering quiet platitudes of support and consolation. Langly returned to his computer game and Frohike went back to repairing the infrared goggles from their last stakeout.

Jimmy had listened to the woman's story with quiet empathy and now he was watching the guys returning to their tasks as if the woman had never poured out her desperate pleas for help. "What are we going to do about it?" He finally asked, puzzled by their apparent indifference.

The other three once again exchanged looks.

"Nothing," Langly said, with surprising firmness.

"Nothing?" Jimmy was aghast by this terse statement. "But.we have to do something. We can't let them get away with this."

"Jimmy," Byers said quietly. "We've been searching for evidence for ten years that they have been brainwashing America's youth. Not only have we been thwarted in finding this information but we have yet to uncover their motives."

"The only thing we do know is their organization is really powerful," Frohike said. "It reaches into the deepest corners of government and big business."

'Yeah, and they make the Consortium look like a children's' show lineup," Langly said.

"So were not going to do anything?" Jimmy asked.

"We didn't say that," Frohike growled from the table he was working at. "We just have to be careful. One wrong move and we end up fish food with those two devils laughing over our watery graves."

"I had no idea," Jimmy whispered sinking back into his chair.

"Not many people do," Byers said; his tone grim.

"Wow," Jimmy said, amazement is his voice, "and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were so cute in 'Full House.'"

The End

Disclaimer: The Olsen twins own themselves and to the best of my knowledge, they are not trying to brainwash America's youth. As usual, I own nothing.
