A/N: Well, this is the first fanfiction (fan-poem o_O) I've written in a while, I had a really strong urge to write something.

Dwarf woman in Tolkien's world don't get nearly enough coverage (yes, 'not nearly enough' as in none at all.) so, I have attempted to write a poem about a character I made up, yes, an original character set in Tolkien's world. I know this will put (some) people off. I'm the only one who's read this through and beta'd etc.

Please Review, I'd like to know what people think, if I did well, if I didn't, I'm asking for constructive criticism! Any comments welcome.

Lady Fire-Axe

Lady Fire-Axe, strong and gay

Fair of touch when metal making

In the dark mountain, she shone like day

Jewel's like fruits from stone trees a taking

But none of these she wanted, living far away

In mountains long forgotten, in a long passed over time

Her desire was a weapon, fit only for a queen, to use as she may

To lay aside all enemy's, a shining axe sublime

Long years this thought did haunt her

In dreams and waking hours

A forge her people had, the fire hot forever

In this burning forge, she melted steel of power

She worked for days and nights, on this great endeavour

When finally all was done, the thing she had created

The axe of steel, reflecting flame shining on forever

Lady Fire-Axe's vision here, her heart and mind placated

The axe of fire and steel, that gave her song and fame.
