I love Draco Malfoy.
I know it's surprising, but it's true. His eyes say so much about his past.
But he hurts me.
I remember one day.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Draco?"
"What is it, you filthy Mudblood?"
"I love you."
There was a pause long enough to fit infinity in it.
"Pardon?"
"I said I love you." I tried to hold his hand in mine, but instead he jerked it away and slapped me across the face, hard.
The pain was unbearable. I cried out and felt my eyes tear up. I heard a loud ringing in my ears.
"You Mudblood! Snap out of it!" he shouted at me.
I looked at him again, but I didn't run. I just touched his cheek. I looked into his eyes.
He flinched and made a move to slap me, but I held his face in my hands and looked deep into his eyes.
We stood there, looking into each other's eyes. Then he seemed to jerk out of a trance and took my hands away from his face and twisted my arms. Hard.
I squealed and bit my lip. I could taste blood and Draco threw me to the floor.
"I don't want your Mudblood filth on me, thank you very much." He said before walking away.
I sat there, a bleeding lip, my arms hurting, and a bruise forming on my cheek.
I watched after him and stood up shakily. Then I ran to the Gryffindor common room, where I ran into my dorm and sobbed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was looking at my feet in front of Harry and Ron, crying silently.
"This isn't right, Hermione!" Ron said suddenly, jerking me out of my trance.
"Why isn't it?" I asked quietly.
"Because we're together! We. You know, as in Ron and Hermione. Hermione and Ron."
My eyes started to water and I mouthed the words, "But I don't love you like that, you know that, Ron."
Ron just turned away and walked into the boys' dorms.
"You really hurt him."
"I know."
Later that night, I walked into the Astronomy Tower, where Draco told me he would meet me.
He was there, sitting by the window, nothing but a long-sleeved shirt and black pants on. He was barefooted, and his tie was flung to the side. I saw his cloak on the steps.
"What did you want me here for?"
He stood up and started to kiss me roughly. I didn't expect this, but I melted into him anyway.
All of a sudden, he pulled away and slapped me again, this time harder than he did last time.
I screamed, but I didn't leave. I knew what he wanted.and he was going to get it.
I walked out of the Astronomy Tower the next morning, bruised not only on my body, but in my mind, too. I was emotionally scarred.
I entered the common room to see Harry and the couch, and Ron pacing.
I stood there for a couple of minutes, and then I collapsed, my eyes rolling to the back of my head.
The last thing I remember before blacking out was Ron yelping and running towards me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Is that the price of love? Abusing and hurting, love and hate, fear and bravery. All of those mixed together make a colorful relationship. Sometimes the colors are just hurtful, like red and black. Or black and blue.
The last time Draco abused me, I fought it, only to get hurt even more. He raped me almost every night, and I came back in tears.
Harry reported this to Dumbledore, but not before I came back from the Astronomy Tower the last time, literally crawling on my hands and knees.
"Hermione!" Ron said, running to me.
I lied down on the floor and coughed up blood.
"Ohmigod!" Harry shouted, standing up.
I turned over and stared at the ceiling. I felt myself leaving my body, and the last thing that happened before I was gone was me throwing up blood again.
Then I left. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
