* JEN'S POV *

"JENO! Catch!" Sirius Black threw the remberal at me.
I sighed as I let the clear ball bounce into my hand. I threw it lazily over my shoulder and Peter Pettigrew scrambled to catch it. As soon as it hit his had, swirling red smoke erupted in the ball.
I smiled and James Potter, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black laughed.
"Ugh. Why does this ALWAYS happen to me?" Peter asked no one in particular.
"BECAUSE you forgot something! Why else?" James leaned over and snatched the remberal. It became clear again.
"It's 9:30. We should go to bed." Remus, the voice of reason, informed us all.
"Okay." Everyone answered in unison, sick of the remberal game.
Everyone hurried out, Remus especially, and he kept checking his watch.
I couldn't sleep so I walked out to the lake, hoping just to sit, and become sleepy.
I looked up at the full moon. I was getting extremely drowsy when all of a sudden I heard a sound.
"Who is it? I have a wand!" I said loudly.
A werewolf was standing on the other side of the lake, not to far away.
I let out a muffled scream. "I'm-I'm Please-DON'T HURT ME!"
It stood there watching me, not moving.
"I have a wand! Don't make me use it. I- I know h-hexes." I choked out.
All of a sudden, it began to transform it was howling, then the howls turned into a scream. The scream turned into a whimper and the werewolf turned into a human.
A human I knew.
A human named Remus Lupin.
I dropped my wand. My knees gave out and I fell onto the grass, never taking my eyes of Remus.
"You-you-you are a.we-werewolf?" I whispered.
A tear rolled down his cheek. He nodded.
"Oh.my.god." I choked out.
"P-Please, don't tell anyone! I promise, I'll tell Dumbledore in the morning I need to transfer. I know you'll hate me but-but." His voce trailed off.
"What? Why? No! Don't transfer! Why would you do that?"
"B-because you don't want to be friends with a werewolf."
"I don't care! Sure, it's shocking but you're still one of my best friends!" I walked over to him and helped him up.
Remus Lupin looked bewildered. And happier then I had ever seen him. "R-really?"
"YEAH!"
We walked back to the castle. As we made our way to the dormitory, Remus skipped merrily. "This is so.relieving!"
"It is?"
"Yes! I was afraid you would hate me of you knew."
"Then why didn't you run away while you were still a werewolf?"
"Can I take the fifth on that question?"
"No."
He sighed. "Can I answer it in the morning then?"
I sighed. "Fine. But you know. The other will figure it out."
"I know." He looked miserable again.
"They won't care, either."
"Yes they will!"
"I didn't care."
By now we were in the common room.
"Jennifer?"
"Yes?" I was slightly surprised he had used my real name instead of the many nicknames I have earned.
"Thanks." He smiled.
"It was nothing."
We stopped walking, he gave me a grateful smile and a hug, then we were off to bed.
Even though it was only two hours before it was time to wake up, I fell into a deep sleep. But all through the night, I was ready for the reason Remus Lupin hadn't just run away and not let me see that he was a werewolf.
