A/N: Welcome everyone, to part 2 of Kim Possible: Dark Future. This is the sequel, Dark Regime. After receiving serious injuries in the last part of Dark Future, Lloyd is placed into cryo-sleep to heal his injuries, but what he wakes up to is anything but pleasant. Lloyd awakens to find himself in a bigger nightmare than he could have ever imagined... and it'll take everything he has to survive in this new dark era. Be prepared readers, as this story will be much darker and more disturbing than the last story. I will be giving some trigger warnings for future chapters, as there will be instances of strong graphic grisly violence, torture, and mentions of sexual assault. There won't be rape scenes, as this is a bit too far, but there will be brief mentions of it in one or two chapters during some flashback scenes. Anyways, hope you enjoy chapter one. This story will probably be the same length as Dark Future.

Chapter 1: Awakening

Sleep... let thy self swim in the deepest ocean without a care. Know that the darkness cannot reach you. However, your time has not yet ended. You felt the pain of the explosion that threw you against that tree, causing you to slip into darkness, yet your not dead. You time is not yet up. Your next mission is just beginning.

Lloyd's eyes shot open and he let out a gasp as he felt like he had been sleeping inside a fridge. Lloyd found himself laying inside a strange pod in only his underpants, and it was very cold. An IV needle was inserted in his right arm, and he had several heart monitor wires hooked up to his bare chest. There was only a small square shaped window in front of Lloyd's face, but it was too fogged up for him to see through it. He looked down and tried to find a way to open the pod, then his eyes spotted a red button near the side of his left arm. Lloyd pressed it, and the pod door swung open. He pulled the needle out of his arm and pulled the wires off his chest, then struggled to climb out of the pod. Lloyds arms and legs felt very weak and wobbly as he pulled himself out, then collapsed to the floor. Warning alarms were going off on the pod as Lloyd struggled to try and stand up, but he still felt very weak and could only crawl across the floor. Lloyd looked around and found himself inside a small dimly lit room with tons of wooden crates in it which had loads of military grade weapons and various other items. The pod he had been in was stationed in the far left corner of the small square room, and it seemed to be the only one there. Lloyd assumed it had been one of those cryo-sleep pods that Global Justice had been tested for accelerated healing, then he remembered what had happened back at the burning factory with Ridley.

Ridley had fired that laser at Shego, and he had thrown himself in front of the fighter shuttle to protect her from the blast, only to get hit by the impact and thrown against a tree which knocked him out cold. Lloyd assumed that he had been put in that pod to have his injuries healed, then he noticed multiple surgical scars on his chest and legs. It was clear that he sustained some serious injuries and need surgery to fix some of them, but what Lloyd found odd was that these scars looked old. They looked as if they had been there for years, and this made Lloyd wonder how long he had been in that pod. Was it possible that the cryo-pod had accelerated the healing process enough to the point where it completely healed his injuries? Or was something else going on that Lloyd wasn't aware of?

"B-Betty? Anyone?" Lloyd called out in a weak and raspy voice.

His throat felt dry, which made it hard for him to speak. Lloyd eventually made it to the door, which appeared to be a metal sliding door with an open and close button on the side of the wall. He tried reaching for the open button, but he couldn't reach it from his position, so he struggled as hard as he could to get on his feet. It was very difficult, but Lloyd eventually was able to sit up and reach the button. He pressed it and the door slid open to reveal an elevator, which he quickly crawled into. Once Lloyd was in the elevator, he found that there were ten floors in total, including a button that read "SURFACE". Lloyd had no idea where he was, but he assumed that he was in another Global Justice hideout somewhere far underground. Not thinking clearly, Lloyd hit the surface button and the elevator doors closed. The elevator then began moving upward slowly, and Lloyd found that he had been on the tenth floor, which appeared to be the lowest level of wherever he was. Lloyd curled up on the floor, still feeling very cold from being in that cryo-sleep pod, and being in just his underpants didn't help him get any warmer. The elevator was a bit warmer than the room Lloyd had just been in, but he still felt cold despite no longer being in the pod, and he also felt dizzy. Lloyd assumed that it might have been an effect of the cryo-sleep process, but he couldn't be sure. He had no idea where he was or what was happening, but Lloyd had a feeling he'd find out very soon. He also feared that the Black Shadow might be waiting for him once he got to the surface of wherever he currently was, which he assumed was still Middleton, but Lloyd didn't jump to conclusions yet.

The elevator eventually reached the surface and pinged, then the doors slid open to reveal a short hallway which was brightly lit with a set of stairs at the end. Lloyd crawled out onto the carpeted floor and the elevator doors slid shut, then he forced himself onto his feet, which felt sore and heavy. He balanced himself against the wall and slowly made his way towards the stairs, wondering what he'd see once he reached the top. Lloyd eventually made it to the stairs after about a minute of dragging himself across the hall, then made the difficult trek up the metal steps where he noticed that there appeared to be a large metal door laying across the top like a set of storm cellar doors.

"Huh?" Lloyd muttered weakly as he tried pushing the door open, but found it locked.

He then noticed a control pad on the wall to his left that had an open and close button on it like the elevator. Lloyd pressed the open button, and the door suddenly clanked and opened up in a flip open motion slowly. Lloyd then saw the night sky of the outside world above him as he then reached up and felt around outside, then felt grass and soil in his hands. Lloyd pulled himself up and found himself looking at a field of trees and grass around him, then he noticed that the door was disguised as the ground to fool other people into thinking nothing was there.

"Anyone here?" Lloyd called out, getting no response as the door slammed shut behind him.

The night was clear with a light breeze flowing through the sky, then Lloyd noticed a city in the distance with tall buildings and several strange looking ships flying above them. They were pretty far away, but Lloyd could tell that this city wasn't Middleton City, and he noticed something else. One of the tall buildings had a red flag hanging over the sides of the building with a white dot in the center which had a cross swords and shield emblem in the center with a red colored Earth on the front of the shield, and there were two black fist symbols next to the swords and shield. Lloyd raised an eyebrow in confusion. He recalled that the Black Shadow flag was red with a black red eyed skull and red cross swords, yet this flag looked much different.

"Maybe Black Shadow changed their flag once they took over" Lloyd thought.

However, his thoughts were interrupted by a voice calling out to him.

"Hey, you there!" a harsh male voice called out.

Lloyd glanced over to his left and saw what looked like a soldier dressed in what looked like Lowardian battle around with a strange looking helmet over his head which had a red visor on eye area. His voice sounded mechanical with the helmet and visor on, and the front of the armor had that same cross swords and shield emblem with two fists on the chest area. Lloyd also noticed that this soldier was wielding a Lowardian style laser rifle, making him feel uneasy.

"M-me?" Lloyd stammered, still not feeling like himself.

"What are you doing out here at this time, citizen? You know the law! No citizens are allowed outside their homes past midnight!" the soldier demanded.

"I... I don't... don't know where I am" Lloyd replied weakly.

"Citizen, identify your name to me" the soldier demanded.

"Its... Lloyd, Lloyd Florence," Lloyd replied. "Where... where am I? What's that city?".

"Lloyd Florence?" the soldier questioned in a suspicious voice.

"Yes," Lloyd replied, now feeling nervous. "What city is that? Where am I?".

The soldier ignored him and gazed down at his wrist, looking at a small screen built into the armor covering the majority of his body. After tapping it and looking over it for a few seconds, the soldier looked back up at Lloyd, only this time he now raised his rifle.

"You! Your under arrest in the name of the Global Empire! Your to come with me right now to the Imperial Palace of Emperor Deathshadow!" the solder yelled.

"Emperor Deathshadow? Who the hell is that? What's he talking about?" Lloyd thought.

Lloyd had no time to even reply before a large beam of light suddenly struck the soldier right near the gap in his neck and quickly blasted his head clean off. Lloyd quickly spun around and saw someone in one of the trees holding a laser rifle in their hands. The person then jumped down to the ground and rushed towards him, and once they got close enough, Lloyd saw that it was none other than Dr. Betty Director. However, he noticed something a bit odd. She was no longer wearing her Global Justice uniform anymore. Instead, she wore black army pants and a black tank top, and her hair seemed to have greyed a bit.

"Lloyd! You've finally woken up!" Dr. Director said in a relieved voice upon reaching Lloyd.

"Betty? What's going on? Where are we? And what's with the change in outfit?" Lloyd questioned, still confused by everything that had happened since he woke up in that pod.

"I know for a fact that you have hundreds of questions by now, but we need to get you back inside the resistance bunker and get you dressed" Betty replied.

"Betty, I'm serious! Who was that guy in the armor you shot, and who is this Emperor Deathshadow he mentioned? Is that Ridley he was referring to?" Lloyd questioned again, this time more harshly.

Betty shook her head and said, "No, but I can tell you right now that he's absolutely not someone you'd want to take lightly. As for Ridley? Well, this is gonna come as a shocker, but Ridley's dead, and so is the entire Black Shadow organization".

Lloyd's eyes widened in shock, and for a moment, he thought he imagined hearing all that.

"W-what?! You can't be serious! Ridley blasted me into that tree with his fighter and I blacked out, then the next thing I know, I'm waking up in this weird cryo-pod in some storage room or something and then I find myself in this weird city with some crazy soldier trying to shoot me. What's going on here, Betty?" Lloyd demanded, practically almost yelling.

Betty sighed, then said, "Lloyd, I know your going to think I'm crazy when I tell you this, but all that happened a very long time ago".

Lloyd's expression turned to one of fear, then he asked, "Betty, how long have I been asleep?".

Betty looked at him with a serious look, then said, "You've been asleep in that pod for a total of ten years. The current year is 2019".

Lloyd felt the color drain from his face upon hearing that. It couldn't be possible, could it? He had heard of cryostasis healing taking at least a few weeks and even a month to fully complete, but ten years? No, not even prototypes could take that long.

"N-no... that... that's impossible!" Lloyd stammered in shock.

"I really wish it was, but I'm not lying," Betty replied. "You ended up with a very bad concussion that put you in a coma for ten years. Your injuries took much longer to heal than I originally thought they would".

"But those pods were tested on other patients before me, and it barely took no more than a month in some cases to fully heal them. How could I have been asleep for ten years?" Lloyd shot back.

"Honestly, I don't know," Betty replied. "None of us could figure that out, but the fact is your now awake after ten years in cryo-sleep, and a lot of things have changed".

"How much has changed?" Lloyd asked.

"Before I answer anymore of your questions, lets get back into the resistance base and get you clothed. You'll catch a bad cold if you stay out here in just your underpants" Betty pointed out.

Lloyd had completely forgotten about that detail due to being so occupied with trying to figure out where he was, and it was only now that he took notice to it.

"Ah, I almost forgot about that" Lloyd replied, glanced down at his black underpants.

"Its no problem," Betty replied. "Lets get back into the base and get you checked up in the medical bay. Since you just woke up, the doctor will want to probably check you over".

Lloyd agreed and the two of them headed back into the base. Lloyd was able to stand a little better now since he was more awake and active now, yet he was still shocked and overwhelmed over learning that he had slept for ten years inside a cryo-sleep pod. Once Lloyd and Betty were back in the elevator, she began to explain what had happened while he was still sleeping inside the pod.

"So, what happened after I blacked out? That soldier guy up there mentioned someone named Emperor Deathshadow, but if he's not Ridley, then who is he?" Lloyd asked.

Betty was silent for a few seconds, and Lloyd noticed that her expression had changed to a look that he couldn't quite understand. It looked somewhat sad, or possibly even a look of fear? Lloyd wasn't sure, but it concerned him a bit.

"No, no one really knows who he really is, but he's the main reason that we're forced to hide underground," Betty replied. "About a week after you were placed into cryo-sleep, the Black Shadow organization took over the world just like we predicted they would. Governments were forced to surrender or face extermination once Ridley took control of every nuclear weapon on the planet, and he quickly began ruling by the sword. Ridley bombed the white house and Asia with nuclear missiles which wiped out our governments, and this forced every other government on the planet to surrender over fear of being wiped out into extinction. Once radiation scrubbing drones cleansed the land of radiation, Ridley had quickly formed a one world empire which he ruled with an iron fist of tyranny, and new D.C served as its main capitol. Small resistance movements formed all over the globe, but they were no match against the Black Shadow Empire. Most of them were wiped out, and some of their members were publicly executed for trying to resist Emperor Ridley. However, all of that changed a month later".

"What happened?" Lloyd asked curiously.

"About a month after the Black Shadow took over the world, Ridley suddenly went silent along with most of the Empire," Dr. Director continued. "However, another Black Shadow member soon took the throne as the new Emperor of the Black Shadow Empire, and it was announced that Ridley had been murdered along with Erin Faust and his entire fortress of followers. No one knew who did it, and the Empire refused to even mention who the murderer was".

"And I'm guessing the killer was this Deathshadow character?" Lloyd asked.

"Yes, but at the time, no one knew who it was," Betty replied. "Deathshadow didn't reveal himself until about five months later, and when he did, he had an army of these syntho-drone clones with him. They were the same ones that Dr. Drakken once created many years ago when he tried taking over the world, only these ones were much more powerful and stronger than any human being on the planet".

"Syntho-drones? Like that Eric syntho-drone Drakken once made to fool Kim Possible? How did this Deathshadow even get his hands on syntho-drones?" Lloyd wondered.

Betty's voice got a bit more serious.

"Because Dr. Drew Lipsky was forced to give him the blueprints on how to create Syntho-drones. Deathshadow kidnapped Drew when we sent him out on a mission to aid one of our resistance forces in Nevada. Forgot to mention that our original base was in Middleton, but we had to move down here to the old GJ base in New York a week after Ridley took over the world. So anyways, I sent him out on a mission to fetch some weapons from one of our weapons dealers in the Nevada resistance, but he never arrived to the dealers hideout. I'd learn later on that Dr. Lipsky was captured by Deathshadow himself and apparently coerced into giving him the blueprints needed to create Syntho-drones like the Eric drone Dr. Lipsky created so long ago".

"So that soldier I saw out there was one of those syntho-drones?" Lloyd wondered.

"Yes, but they're not like the ones Drakken made long ago," Betty replied. "Deathshadow genetically enhanced them by taking DNA from some alien being which was code named Experiment 626, and it turned these syntho-drones into nearly invincible super soldiers that have super human strength, high level intelligence, night vision, and heat vision. Their skin is even bullet proof and fire proof, so only certain laser weapons can actually kill them".

"Experiment 626... I remember Kim once mentioning a creature like that in the old Global Justice building. I think that it was called... Stitch, I believe" Lloyd said, recalling a point in time where Kim had once gone on a mission to save some alien being named Stitch from Shego and Drakken so long ago.

"Yes, and Deathshadow somehow obtained DNA from Stitch and added it to his new batch of syntho-drones to turn them from simple drones into razor honed super soldiers," Betty replied with a nod. "I'm guessing that he forced Drakken to give him Stitch's location so that he could get his hands on his DNA. Afterwards, Deathshadow forced him to give him the means to construct these syntho-drones under duress. Drew told us that Deathshadow apparently needed them to "help him" rid the world of Black Shadow, but he was pretty sure that Deathshadow wanted more than that, so he refused at first. However, when Deathshadow threatened to kill his mother Mrs. Lipsky if he refused to give him the blueprints and provide him with Stitch's DNA, Drew had no choice but to give him what he wanted. Deathshadow also made a brutal example of his own power by attacking Shego when she tried to fight him, and she barely survived".

"How powerful exactly is Deathshadow?" Lloyd questioned suspiciously.

"Very powerful; far stronger than even Ron Stoppable," Betty replied in a serious voice. "He possesses telekinetic abilities in addition to several other powers that I don't even think Ron Stoppable would be able to survive against if he were still alive. Deathshadow isn't immortal and can still die like any other person, but the powers he possesses makes him an impossible opponent to defeat in hand to hand combat or with any sort of normal weapon. Not to mention his physical strength is far greater than even an WWA fighter since he's a cyborg, so I can tell you right now that killing Emperor Deathshadow will be next to impossible without a plan".

"Damn... guess I can see now why he's certainly a force to be reckoned with," Lloyd exclaimed. "What I don't understand is why the world is still... well, Imperialistic out there".

"To put it plain and simple, Deathshadow destroyed the Black Shadow organization in the span of just one year, and its a very dark and tyrannical regime" Betty replied simply.

"A dark regime? Is it like Ridley's Empire?" Lloyd asked worriedly.

Betty shook her head and said, "No, but it's no better. Deathshadow believes that freedom brings corruption and chaos, and that tyranny brings order and peace. You see, he wants a world free of all crime and corruption, but it comes at a terrible cost. Deathshadow managed to eliminate all crime and corruption on the planet by wiping out every single criminal gang, organization, and all other forms of organized crime on the planet, but at the cost of everyone's freedom. He's turned the whole planet into one giant military police state, and anyone who doesn't support the Global Empire and its crime free ideals is hauled off to re-education camps or publicly executed if they resist or rebel. Those who also refuse or resist the re-education procedures are also branded as traitors to the Global Empire and executed to "prevent corruption from spreading" as Emperor Deathshadow puts it".

Lloyd felt his heart sink upon hearing all of this. While Ridley's Empire was one who's rule was based entirely on tyranny through criminal means, this new Global Empire didn't seem any better. The idea of a crime free world would be amazing, if it weren't for the fact that it was enforced in an Imperialistic way like Betty described. This Emperor Deathshadow sounded like a very unfeeling and uncaring individual if he considered something like this normal.

"My God," Lloyd exclaimed. "What kind of nightmare did I wake up in?".

"A bad one, I'm afraid," Betty replied sadly as the elevator stopped. "We've been hiding underground from the Global Empire for over nine years along with other pockets of resistance forces all over the globe, but they haven't had much luck in bringing it down. Emperor Deathshadow and his Imperial military have continued to track down and wipe out any resistance forces that try to resist his rule. And what's worse is that there are still a lot of people all over the globe who support Deathshadow's ideals of a crime free world, and they have no issue living their lives under constant surveillance by the Empire and ratting out anyone who speaks out against it or resisting it".

"That... that's madness! Why would anyone want that?" Lloyd exclaimed in horror.

"Most people obey Emperor Deathshadow out of fear, or they've lost perspective and believe that his methods are necessary to promoting a peaceful crime free world, though I imagine some of them were brainwashed by the Emperor's brainwashing programs at the re-education camps he has set up all over the globe" Betty replied.

The elevator door opened to reveal a long hallway with multiple doors on each side, then Betty and Lloyd headed out of the elevator.

"These camps... are they labor camps like the ones Nazi Germany used back during the second world war?" Lloyd asked fearfully.

"Not exactly, but from what we learned from some of our spies, the prisoners held there are treated like the scum of the Earth and forced to undergo brainwashing though use of various brainwashing machines and in some extreme ways, psychological torture. Those who resist the brainwashing process and psychological torture are deemed a threat to the Global Empire and branded as traitors, then executed publicly while being filmed on live TV" Betty explained grimly.

Lloyd was even more horrified. This all sounded insane.

"What the hell?! Public execution? They don't do it in secure areas like before?" he asked in horror.

"No, and what's worse, the Global Empire doesn't execute prisoners the usual way via lethal injection or electrocution. They have then beheaded on a chopping block like in the dark ages, and for those who rebel against the Empire through violent means, the Emperor will order them to be dissolved alive in acid vats" Betty replied in disgust.

Lloyd was even more sickened than ever before. How could anyone think something like this was normal and turn a blind eye to it? Of course, Lloyd was sure there were many people out there who believed in a free world, otherwise, why would resistance movements still exist?

"N-no.. that can't be true! It can't!" Lloyd stammered, not wanting to believe it.

"I know it sounds like something out of a horror film, but I can assure you that its all true," Betty said firmly. "And if you want further proof, I can show you images and video footages of some of the atrocities the Global Empire has committed, all for the sake of maintaining a crime free world. Mind you though, it's incredibly disturbing".

Lloyd was afraid to agree viewing it, but he had to know the truth of what had happened to the world while he was asleep in that cryo-pod for ten years. It was clear that the world was currently still being ruled tyrannically, but for reasons much different than Ridley's methods.

"All right, I'll have a look at it," Lloyd agreed reluctantly. "I want to know what happened while I was asleep for the last ten years in that pod".

"Very well, but first, you'll need to be checked up by the medical team and then dressed" Dr. Director reminded him.

Lloyd nodded and followed Betty into a medical chamber where he saw a familiar face near a large medical table; it was Dr. Kyoka Natsura. She didn't look too much older since Lloyd had last seen her ten years ago before his horrible accident. The young Japanese doctor's dark blue hair had greyed slightly, and her skin seemed to develop a few wrinkles. Lloyd realized that Kyoka had been 29 years old before he had gone into cryo-sleep, which now meant that she was 39.

"Well now, Mr. Florence has finally woken up," Dr. Kyoka exclaimed, looking pleased to she Lloyd awake again. "How's he doing?".

"He seems a bit dizzy, but otherwise, doing fine," Dr. Director replied. "I didn't even know Lloyd had woken up until I was alerted in my quarters that the old cryo-pod in the basement area had been tampered with. When I checked and saw Lloyd was gone, I knew he had woken up, then that's when I got an alert that the entrance to the resistance base had been opened. When I went out there, I found Lloyd out there being interrogated by one of those Imperial Enforcers".

Dr. Kyoka looked slightly nervous upon hearing the part about the syntho-drone that had attempted to arrest Lloyd.

"They didn't find our base, did they?" she asked worriedly.

"No, the base door was closed, and there was only one drone. I managed to take him out before he could nab Lloyd" Betty replied.

"Well, we better be careful since the Empire may send in backup once they learn that one of their enforcers are missing. If we're seen exiting the base with any Imperial Enforcers around, the entire resistance base will be compromised" Kyoka warned her.

"I'm assuming that's what those drones are called?" Lloyd asked curiously.

"Yes, they're the Global Empire's peace keeping force, at least that's how the Empire tries to make them out to be. In reality, they nothing else more than tyrannical thugs that patrol the streets every single day and night to make sure people are doing what the Empire wants them to do. Anyone who falls out of line is arrested and never heard from again, and if by some chance they are seen again, they're never the same person that they once were" Betty explained in a disgusted voice.

"And not to mention that they monitor everything going on in your house as well," Dr. Kyoka added. "Imperial law requires that every single house and establishment on the planet are to be equipped with security cameras which are monitored by the Imperial Loyalty Enforcement Agency".

"Wait, they have camera's in every single house around the world?" Lloyd asked in shock.

"Yes, even in restrooms and bathrooms. What's worse is that one of the Prime Directive Laws state that all camera's are to remain untouched at all times. If you cover the camera's or try tampering with them at any point in time, you'll be arrested and subjected to brutal forms of interrogation. What's worse is that they've been known to do this to children as well" Dr. Director replied grimly.

"Your kidding me?! The Empire tortures children simply for violating these tyrannical laws they set in place?" Lloyd exclaimed in horror.

"Yes, they do unfortunately," Dr. Director replied sadly. "Just last week, the Empire had several children sent off to re-education camps simply because they covered the camera's in the bathrooms of their homes. As for their parents? They were executed for trying to hide their children from the Imperial Police forces arresting them. Both the parents were executed live on TV for quote on quote "attempting to promote corruption against the current Global Peace".

"All for simply covering a set of camera's for privacy. Dear God, what's humanity come too?" Lloyd exclaimed in horror.

"Well, you might as well take a look over there on the wall at the poster one of our rebel spies brought back here, and that may answer your question" Betty pointed out.

Lloyd glanced over at the wall to his left and saw a rectangular poster hanging on the wall that had the flag of the Global Empire on the top, and below it was a slogan that read as followed in big black letters:

"FREEDOM BRINGS CORRUPTION AND CHAOS.

TYRANNY BRINGS ORDER. ORDER BRINGS PEACE!

LONG LIVE THE GLOBAL EMPIRE!"

Lloyd stared at the poster in shock, reading that slogan several times and taking it all in.

"This... this is complete and utter madness! How could something like this happen? Its insane! First Black Shadow, and now some new Empire is ruling in its place!" Lloyd exclaimed in utter disbelief.

"There's actually something else I didn't tell you yet," Betty began. "The Global Empire didn't take control of the world by destroying Black Shadow. It happened another way".

"What?! How?" Lloyd asked as he climbed onto the medical table.

"Well, you see, Deathshadow began to secretly organize an underground rebellion with his troops of genetically enhanced syntho-drones, and they began working to eliminate every single member of the Black Shadow organization on the planet," Betty continued. "Deathshadow had managed to somehow obtain info on every single member of Black Shadow along with their location, then began hunting them down and wiping them out. Of course, many people began to question his methods of dealing with his enemies since he tended to be very brutal in killing them, yet they didn't argue that much since the whole world was still under Black Shadow rule. It wasn't until about a year later when we took back the white house that we really began to question Deathshadow's motives".

"Um, okay, everything you've told me so far has gotten my head a bit dizzy," Lloyd cut in. "So your saying Deathshadow formed a rebellion after revealing himself ten years ago? This is all so confusing and out of order, at least in the way you've explained things, that is. Think you could start from the beginning?".

"Yes, I think I got a bit too ahead of myself since you woke up," Betty replied. "About five months after you went into cryo-sleep, Deathshadow suddenly revealed himself to the public with an army of genetically enhanced syntho-drones and promised to liberate humanity from Black Shadow's rule, then he formed his own resistance movement underground and urged tons of other people to join him in his cause. Of course, Black Shadow did everything they could to try and stop him, but the powers he possessed along with his armies of super soldier syntho-drones made that impossible. Deathshadow wiped out anyone that got in his way, and many people soon began to join him, including my resistance team as well".

"What?! You joined Deathshadow and his resistance team?" Lloyd exclaimed in shock, raising his head a little off the examination table as Dr. Kyoka examined him.

"Yes, but mind you, he was much different back then," Betty continued. "Deathshadow was cold, ruthless, and had no issues with using brutal and sadistic methods of wiping out his enemies, but not yet the tyrant that he is now today. In hindsight though, we should have seen the signs that he wasn't someone to be trusted, but people were desperate for leadership at the time to help overthrow the tyrants ruling the world. Because of this, they disregarded Deathshadow's methods of ruthless and often barbaric war tactics and began following him as their leader, but I honestly didn't trust him. He did so many things that went against the rules of engagement and treated his enemies in ways that made him no better than them".

"I take it that he didn't treat his prisoners of war very well, did he?" Lloyd asked, having a feeling as to where this was going.

"No, not in the least bit," Betty replied, shaking her head. "Any member of Black Shadow that Deathshadow captured would be brutally tortured in horrific ways, many of these methods were ones not used since the dark ages, but it wasn't just Black Shadow members he targeted either. Any criminal, thug, or any sort of organized crime syndicates would be brutally slaughtered without mercy and their leaders would be captured and tortured for whatever information that Deathshadow wanted. Afterwards, he'd kill them and just dispose of their corpses like garbage, sometimes even mounting their heads on wooden pikes for the public to see. Me and my resistance team finally confronted Deathshadow in private and told him that taking back the world from Black Shadows control was a huge priority, but the methods he and his armies of super soldiers were using were very cruel, sadistic, heartless, and barbaric. We tried to tell him that this isn't how we should be treating our enemies, but Deathshadow refused to listen and told us something that confirmed our suspicions about his true colors".

"What did he say?" Lloyd asked.

"Deathshadow stared at me with those burning red lens from his cyborg helmet, then said, "In a world where the enemy robbed me of everything and everyone I loved, why should I show them mercy? They don't deserve it" Betty replied.

"Seems like an interesting, yet questionable thing to say" Lloyd agreed.

"That's not all. Deathshadow explained to me and my group that he longed to liberate the world from Black Shadow and establish a new order of peace as its new leader, but also one in which crime and corruption would be non-existent. At first, the idea of a crime free world seemed to gain attention from my resistance group, but when Deathshadow mentioned the methods he planned to use to achieve this goal...," Betty paused with a sigh. "Well, that's when we all realized that he'd be no better than any other tyrant. Deathshadow explained that freedom must be eliminated and a global military force put in place to ensure that order is maintained to prevent any further crime and corruption from spreading and allowing for new criminal organizations like Black Shadow to form. As you can probably guess, this was absolutely not the idea of a perfect world the resistance had in mind, so I told Deathshadow that we'd never assist him and his armies in doing such a thing and that no other person on the planet would ever want that either. Well, that's when all hell broke loose".

"What happened?" Lloyd asked.

"Deathshadow attacked several members of my resistance group and even killed a few of them when they opened fire on him. He... he then used some kind of psychic power to restrain me and the rest of us, then warned us that no one would have a say in his decision," Betty seemed to grow a bit uncomfortable mentioning this part. "Deathshadow stated that crime and corruption would be eliminated one way or the other, and anyone who didn't join him would be considered a traitor to his cause. It was very clear right there and then that Deathshadows intentions had been very sinister all along, but in his mind, he believed that he was doing the entire world a favor by getting rid of freedom and enforcing tyranny to eliminate crime and corruption".

"Well, Deathshadows clearly crazy," Lloyd exclaimed. "But the one thing I don't get is this; how did Deathshadow become a cyborg, and just who is he really? And above all, how does he possess such power?".

"Deathshadow stated that he was captured by Black Shadow and transformed into a cyborg as part of some sick experiment to turn him into a mindless drone that would follow Ridley's every command, but this failed and he managed to escape after killing Ridley and everyone else in his fortress," Betty explained. "As for his psychic powers and cybernetics? Well, Deathshadow claimed that he was once a member of the long gone Yamanouchi Ninja Clan and ended up severely hurt from the nuclear attack, and he ended up tapping into the Red Rage out of anger like Ron did for what Ridley had done to Japan. Unlike Ron however, Deathshadows red rage powers are far stronger and more powerful. He's not someone you'd want to pick a fight with".

Lloyd felt very uneasy upon learning that Deathshadow also possessed the powers of the Red Rage. Ron had unintentionally tapped into that same power ten years ago when fighting Ridley for the first time, but then he remembered something else Ron had told him about the Red Rage, and it was that only someone with Mystical Monkey Powers could tap into such a dark and destructive power. This meant that whoever this ex-Yamanouchi ninja was had the same abilities as Ron did before meeting his end at the hands of Ridley, and the pain of losing all his fellow ninjas drove him to tapping into the Red Rage, and it clearly corrupted his mind. Then again, Lloyd couldn't exactly blame Deathshadow for losing it, given the fact that Ridley turned him into a cyborg against his will and tried to brainwash him.

"So... he has that same evil power like Ron did," Lloyd said. "That explains why no ones able to win in a fight against him".

"Yes, and that's the main reason why so many resistance forces all over the world are losing their fight against the Global Empire. Its not just Deathshadow who's powerful, but since he has an entire legion of genetically enhanced syntho-drones, its next to impossible for the resistance to win a successful victory against them" Betty explained.

"Has anyone been able to fight against the Global Empire?" Lloyd asked.

"No," Betty replied sadly. "For almost an entire decade since you went into cryo-sleep, any resistance or rebellion that tried fighting the Empire was wiped out and its leaders publicly executed for daring to disrespect Emperor Deathshadow. Many resistance forces are still all over the world trying to fight the Global Empire, but they've barely had any luck at all. The best that they've managed to do it take out large numbers of syntho-drone soldiers, but since those resistance forces are incredibly small and barely have enough resources, its impossible for them to successfully win a battle".

"What about Team Go? They're super powers are pretty strong. Were they able to help at all?" Lloyd wondered.

Betty glanced down briefly with a look of sadness, then said, "They... they didn't survive. After Deathshadow forged the Global Empire and started passing the tyrannical laws that deprived people of their rights, freedom, and privacy, Team Go stood against him and tried to convince him that what he was doing was wrong an unjust. However, Deathshadow told them that they would either stand with him, or be branded as enemies of the new world order. Deathshadow made it clear that no one was allowed to stay neutral, as this would mean they'd have freedom, and that's the main thing he considers a threat to the Global Empire. If you don't submit to the Global Empire or refuse to support it, your branded a traitor and sent to a re-education camp. Team Go of course would never allow this, so they tried to take him in by force to stop his plans, but Deathshadow was far too powerful for them. He eventually overpowered and killed all four members of Team Go, then wrote it off as them trying to start a war with the Global Empire to the public. Shego was the only one who survived".

Lloyd shook his head and sighed.

"He killed them," he said pitifully. "And Shego's still alive?".

"Yes, but she hasn't been the same since she escaped the Imperial Capital," Betty replied. "Shego went after Deathshadow at the Imperial Capital and tried to kill him, but he easily defeated her and took her prisoner. It took a week for us to get a rescue team down there to break Shego out, and they barely escaped with their lives, and Shego was a complete wreck, both psychologically and mentally".

"What happened to her? Was she hurt badly?" Lloyd asked in concern.

"Yes, she was beaten up pretty badly, and Deathshadow did something to probe her mind. She wouldn't tell us what exactly he did, but whatever it was, it scarred her for life," Betty explained grimly. "Shego also said she got a glance of Deathshadow's face, but claimed the room she was in was too dark to tell what he looked like, so it just looked like a shape rather than a face. The only factor Shego could make out was his eyes, and they glowed bright red".

Lloyd shook his head as he lay on the medical table. He wished that this was just some nightmare and that he might still be asleep in his cryo-pod, but it was all very real indeed. Lloyd had slept for ten years, and now he had woken up in a world not ruled by Black Shadow, but instead by a brutal and tyrannical Empire ruled by an insane cyborg with dark psychic powers who believed he was promoting peace through tyranny and brutality. Lloyd knew he'd have lots of researching to do after his exam to find out what exactly happened over the last ten years that he was in cryo-sleep, because he knew he'd be needing it if he was going to survive whatever hell this world had turned into.

A/N: Wow, this is shocking. Black Shadow is gone, Ridley is gone, and Lloyd slept for ten years... but the world isn't the same. Just who do you suppose Deathshadow truly is behind his mask, and how will Dr. Directors Resistance movement survive in these dark times?
