Remnant meets the Demon Fox
It was a joyous night for Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage. His wife, Kushina Uzumaki, had given birth to their son, Naruto Uzumaki. Before they could fully rejoice, Minato had one final task to do.
"Okay, time to redo the seal." Minato said as Kushina nodded as he walked over to his wife and placed his hands over her stomach. However, before he could redo the seal placed to keep the Nine-Tails from being released, they heard a cry and saw that a masked man had killed the caretakers and held their newborn son hostage.
"Step away from the Jinchuriki." The man ordered as the Hokage took a step forward to his son as the man pulled out a kunai. "I said to step away from the Jinchuriki! We wouldn't want the death of a newborn."
"Wait!" Minato shouted as the man threw the newborn, who was crying, into the air as Minato was instantly on the ceiling holding Naruto. It was then the sound of sizzling could be heard, and Minato realized that paper bombs had been put underneath the blanket.
Kushina had cried his name with tears forming as Minato ripped off the blanket as he teleported into a shed and jumped out as the paper bombs exploded, destroying the shed in the process.
"He's successfully separated us. However, I didn't become the Fourth Hokage for nothing." Minato muttered as he pulled out a piece of wood from his leg and flicked it into the air as he vanished before the piece of wood hit the ground.
(Elsewhere)
Currently, Kushina was chained to a rock as the seal was becoming more unstable. The masked man was in front of her as a Sharingan was active in the hole of his mask. He looked straight at the fox as he could feel its malice and hatred directed straight at him. However, he remained unaffected as he cast the fox under a Genjutsu.
"Now come out, Kyuubi!" The man said as the eyes on the fox changed from a slit and spun into a Sharingan. Almost immediately after, the fox started ripping off stone spikes that were through its hands before ripping off the steel chains that kept it bound as it roared.
On the outside, the seal around Kushina was dark and a blob as she was coated in red Chakra. Soon after, from the seal, the red Chakra created the fox's head before the masked man made a hand sign, and the red Chakra shot forward and into the air as it started forming into the Nine-Tailed Fox. The fox crashed into the ground and roared into the night as Kushina fell onto the rock. The fox got on all fours as it noticed its jailer lying helplessly on a rock. It growled as it raised its hand and slammed into the rock.
It raised its hand, expecting a bloody mess of a human when the fox and the masked noticed that Kushina was no longer there. On a nearby tree, Minato had arrived and saved his wife before she was killed as he gave the masked man a death glare before vanishing once more.
The masked man chuckled as he started vanishing. However, a Tri-pronged kunai had gone straight for the hole in the mask as it began to vanish just as Minato teleported to it, and the Space-Time Ninjutsu they used had caused them both to vanish.
Vanishing completely from the Elemental Nations.
(Remnant)
It was night in Remnant as a group of young girls were currently walking towards their school, Beacon Academy, after getting into a fight with criminal Roman Torchwick and the White Fang at the docks.
Their leader, Ruby Rose, had kept talking about weapons and cookies until she started drooling at the thought of cookie weaponry.
"Sis, you're drooling again." Ruby's half-sister, Yang Xiao Long, said as Ruby wiped her mouth and blushed in embarrassment. Her sister laughed while her partner, Weiss Schnee, sighed at her partner's lack of manners. Even so, it was something she found amusing from time to time when it came to certain things.
"Well, after what's happened tonight I'd say that it's fine." After her teammates found out the secret of her past, Blake Belladonna, the final member that made up Team RWBY, said with a small smile. They all laughed and continued their walk until Blake stopped. Being a Faunus, her senses were better than a human's, so it wasn't a surprise when she heard the air sounding like a whirlpool.
Her teammates stopped to ask what was wrong, but before that, a vortex appeared next to Ruby as Minato came out and crashed into her, sending her to the ground as he skidded across the street.
"Ruby!" Yang yelled as she ran to her sister, who was holding her head in pain. Yang's eyes flashed red as she glared at the Hokage on the ground as he started getting up and looking at his surroundings.
"Where am I? This isn't anywhere in the Land of Fire, nor anywhere within the Elemental Nations." Minato thought to himself as he analyzed his surroundings once more before ducking underneath a punch and sweeping the legs of his attacker, sending them to the floor as he held a kunai to their throat.
"(Where am I? Who are you?)." Minato demanded as Yang was frightened by his speed but was confused when she couldn't understand him. Minato didn't appreciate her silence; while she looked like a teenager, she was skilled in combat, and that alone was reason enough for him not to treat her like a child.
Genin were already considered adults when they graduated from the academy. While the girl below him had simply swung her fist, he could tell that she was most likely a low-level Chunin with simple Taijutsu. Of course, he also doubted that this girl could make it to the Chunin level if she attacked someone in a blind rage along with such a plain attack.
He pressed the kunai even more onto her throat, causing a little blood to spill as she started struggling but couldn't escape his grip. She tried to tell him to stop, but he didn't understand her.
"There's a language barrier? I have no time to waste then if my questions cannot be answered. Instead, I should go and find that masked man." Minato thought to himself as he removed the kunai and instantly vanished, not seeing the wound on Yang's neck heal. Yang promptly brought her hand up to her neck and started to breathe in as much air as possible.
"Yang! Are you alright!?" Weiss yelled, running up to her and having her weapon drawn as she kneeled to her friend while looking around. She didn't know who the man was, but his speed was better than Ruby's, and the only possible explanation was that it was his Semblance.
"I'm fine! But that guy was something else. I went to hit him but it's like he already knew I was coming a mile away and then he held a knife to my throat before saying something I couldn't understand." Yang explained as she stood up and activated her gauntlets.
"It doesn't matter. We need to find this guy before he starts threatening innocent people." Yang declared as Weiss stared at her before nodding. Blake and Ruby came over hearing Yang as they agreed and ran off into the night, completely unaware of the danger and chaos that would befall Vale.
(With The Masked Man)
He didn't know where he was, but he knew that he wasn't within the Land of Fire anymore. He jumped to a roof and looked around and was surprised to see a very advanced city. Now he knew for sure that this wasn't the Land Of Fire, or anywhere in the Elemental Nations.
"How did I-Space-Time Ninjutsu. Of course, there just happened to be more space than the time aspect, and I was sent here. The Fourth Hokage is most likely here as well, and if it was Space-Time Ninjustu that got me here then my ability should get me back." The man thought to himself as he jumped off the roof and landed in the middle of the street. The Summoning Jutsu should still work, he thought to himself once more as the technique summons whatever the user needs to their location.
"Move out the way dammit!" A man yelled from his car, not that the masked man understood what he meant, nor did he care. Instead, he ignored him and started going through hand signs.
"Kuchiyose no Jutsu!" The masked man shouted, confusing the driver and others as seals appeared on the ground before a large cloud of smoke appeared, sending those walking flying away. Others managed to grip the ground or something near them, while those in their car were lucky that they weren't sent flying into the air.
"What the hell-!?" Someone yelled before going quiet as the sound of deep growling was heard. His eyes shrunk in fear while others widened at the sight they saw as the smoke cleared.
"No way-!"
*ROOOAAARRR!*
The fox roared as the people in the area ran for their lives. Those in their car tried to drive away but they would end up crashing into others as they decided to get out and run as well. They couldn't believe that such a creature existed, and now it was here in Vale.
"(Now, Go and destroy it all! Nine-Tails!)." The masked man ordered as the fox's eyes strained for a moment, trying to break free of its Genjutsu but failed, as it seemingly smiled before it started destroying buildings with its tails, hands, and claws as even its roar sent buildings flying along with people.
The fox slammed its hand onto a dust shop, causing it to explode into multiple elements, mainly fire, causing explosions all around as it swept away more buildings.
The sirens in Vale started going off as the fox continued its destruction with soldiers from Atlas and Airships flying in the sky that surrounded the fox while attacking it as they were swatted to the ground. At the same time, Bullheads landed away from it to help evacuate citizens.
What made matters worse was the hatred and malice that emitted from the Fox. So much of it that the Grimm were starting to show near the borders. While this happened, Team RWBY could only stand petrified and in horror at what was happening around them. The pure destruction that was befalling the city of Vale.
(Team RWBY minutes before)
Before the major attack, the team was trying to find Minato as they were under the impression that he was a dangerous but confused man, and they weren't wrong.
"Just where the hell is this guy!?" Yang shouted in frustration as they continued walking. They had no idea where the man went and had they known his title in his homeland. They would know that there's no one on Remnant that can catch the Yellow Flash.
"The guy instantly vanished and Vale is a pretty big place. He could be anywhere for all we know." Weiss explained, causing Yang to sigh in annoyance as they continued their walk and once again Blake stopped.
This time her teammates realized and pulled out their weapons. Just then, a cloud of smoke appeared, and Blake froze in her place. Her instincts were telling her to run, to run out of Vale and find a safe place, and yet her legs refused to move. Her friends wondered why she was shaking so much, and Blake wouldn't respond when they called her name. Her team would understand her fear when they saw Kyuubi's destruction. Chaos was around them, and death followed as people died from the fox's rampage.
"(He was able to summon the Nine Tails?! No time to waste then.)." Minato muttered as Blake looked at him, seeing the Hokage having a serious look on his face despite the situation. He vanished once more and appeared on CCT.
"As the Hokage, I must protect my family. I may not know the citizens of this place, but it is my fault that the fox is here. And it is my responsibility to handle it." Minato thought to himself as the Kyuubi noticed him before sliding to the side, growling as it stared him down.
"(So you've noticed me?)" Minato muttered as the fox growled before opening its mouth and started gathering an absurd amount of Chakra. People watched a mass of energy, which they assumed was Aura, being fired as it tore through buildings and ripped up the ground.
"(You won't get your way here!)" Minato said as he had gone through hand signs as the mass of energy was stopped as seals appeared, and it was being sucked in before fully disappearing. Minato had promptly sent it away, and what happened next was something that would leave an imprint in Remnant's history.
*BOOOOM*
"MountGlenn… it's gone." Blake muttered as the blast had also collapsed the caves that surrounded it, creating a massive crater in the ground. The Grimm Dragon that had been sleeping there was turned to nothing but ash along with any Grimm caught in the area.
"I need to watch where I send those. It could have easily leveled the city." Minato thought as he saw the masked man behind him and went to stab his kunai through his head, but he had passed right through.
In that instant, he grabbed the Hokage's wrist and activated his Jutsu. "(Time to send you back to the Elemental Nations.)" The man said as the Fourth Hokage was being sucked in before he vanished, surprising his attacker.
"(He's fast. He isn't Hokage for nothing.)" The man muttered as he then vanished to confront the Hokage in battle, leaving the Nine-Tails to its destruction.
(With Minato)
Minato had teleported back to the street where he had crashed into Ruby. He had markers placed as the masked man appeared behind him.
"(I must ask why you protect this place. You know no one here, and yet you prevent that blast of Chakra from hitting the tower. Why?)" The man asked as Minato stood up. He glared into the hole that allowed his opponent to see as he held his kunai in his hand.
"(I protect this place because this was our doing. Our Ninjutsu was the reason this place has all this destruction. And I shall end it, along with you.)" Minato declared as the man chuckled. From his sleeve, chains dropped as he attached them to his wrist.
"(True, I can agree that the destruction upon this city was our doing. However, here you are, stopping me when you should be dealing with the Nine-Tails. What does that say about you?)" The masked man asked as Minato didn't respond, not wanting to give in to the madman's game. No more words were exchanged between them as Minato ran forward with his opponent doing the same. He went to stab his chest, but the attack went right through, and the masked man pulled his arms ahead, which brought the chains along with it, which ensnared Minato, but he teleported to another kunai he had placed down.
"My physical attacks have no effect. He becomes intangible when I attack, but materializes himself to attack me." Minato deducted as his opponent was waiting for his next move. "Whoever attacks faster, wins!"
Minato turned around and ran forward once more, as did the masked man. Minato, however, had thrown his kunai as it went through the man's head. As they neared each other, he created the Rasengan while the masked man had put his hand out to grab him.
"I win." The masked man thought to himself as he was about to grab him when Minato teleported to the kunai he threw. After that, he slammed his Jutsu into the back of his attack.
"(This is my level two Flying Raijin.)" Minato said while placing a mark on the back of his opponent. The man had jumped out of the smoke and onto a rock. He held his arm as it was falling apart as he growled in anger.
"(Dammit! I let my guard down!)" The man cursed himself as Minato was impaling him with a kunai. He realized that Minato had marked him. The Hokage then placed a contracting seal on him, effectively cutting off his contact with the Nine-Tails. "(The Flying Raijin!? He must've marked me somewhere!)"
The eyes on the fox had changed from the Sharingan back to slits. It would've continued its rampage if it hadn't noticed something of interest.
"The moon…is broken!?" The fox thought to itself as it looked around and noticed that he was in was not the Hidden Leaf Village, and this wasn't anywhere within the Land of Fire. As a matter of fact, it couldn't sense a drop of Chakra anywhere on the entire planet. Meaning that it wasn't even in the Elemental Nations.
*Bang!*
A bullet with fire dust was shot at the fox, creating a small explosion that did nothing more than anger it. It looked towards the sky, seeing a Bullhead flying in the air as it slammed one of its tails onto it.
The fox roared again as the masked man held his arm. He left the Hokage one final message before vanishing. "(One day, I will control our world. And there are many ways to go about it. See you back in Konoha, Lord Fourth.)"
"(He isn't lying. However, the village is in good hands. For now, I need to return home and bring the Fox with me.)" Minato muttered to himself as he vanished again to the Nine Tails' location. What he was unaware of was that his battle was recorded. Well, it wouldn't matter as soon enough he would be home.
Team RWBY was present when Minato appeared in front of them, shocking them out of their fright. They couldn't say anything to him as he wouldn't understand, but he then vanished once more and appeared in front of the fox.
"H-He's going to get killed…" Yang muttered as her teammates didn't respond. What made matters worse was that the fox noticed him and glared daggers at him while growling.
"Yondaime Hokage…(Give me one good reason…as to why I shouldn't kill you?)" The fox asked growling as from one of the airships, General Ironwood, had given a command to halt fire and for others to evacuate citizens. It was then he received a call from Ozpin, the Headmaster of Beacon Academy.
"James! What's going on? How's the evacuation going?" Ozpin asked as the General replied that evacuation was difficult but was being managed. He then explained that the fox could speak, but he didn't know what it was saying.
"Not only that, but the fox is speaking with an unknown man. He understands it, so I think they're connected. I'll keep you posted." Ironwood explained before ending the call. He continued watching while he also ordered the evacuations of the citizens. A person came to mind when the fox appeared, but James thoughts otherwise, because she wouldn't create something this powerful without having control over it.
"(Clearly you know that we do not belong here. We do not know the language of this world, nor do they know ours. We've caused them enough death and destruction, we need to leave.)" Minato responded, explaining his reasoning as the fox's glare lessened and his growling came to a halt.
It was true, they didn't belong here, he was more powerful than any being on the planet. Far stronger than the dark energy he sensed, he also knew its location. He could also sense that it was trying to reach him, or try and take control of him. Well, the fox didn't take too kindly to that as it fought back against the pathetic attempt and sent back its malice.
After that, the being stopped trying to reach him and take control as he chuckled before answering the Fourth Hokage.
"(True…we don't belong here, but…how do you propose we return?)" The fox asked, knowing that its hatred and anger for humans wasn't needed at the moment. Instead, finding a way back to the Elemental Nations was more important than killing the man who had sealed him away.
"What are they talking about?" Ruby asked, knowing that her teammates couldn't answer her question. The best she could get was that they were having a negotiation about something.
"…Wait a minute." Blake suddenly said, getting her team's attention. "…If they can understand each other, doesn't that mean they come from the same place?" She questioned as that realization brought up new questions for them all.
"(The way I got here was Space-Time Ninjustu, and you were summoned. If it's possible, if you were to go back before me, you could reverse summon me.)" Minato offered as the fox was chuckling before he started laughing. His deep laughter sent chills down everyone's spines, and the Faunus had it worse as they could sense his malice.
"(If you believe that I'm entering a contract with you…then you are a fool.)" Kyuubi said as Minato sighed. There was another option, and he knew that the fox wasn't going to like it.
"(Well, if you don't want to enter a contract with me, the other option is for me to seal you inside of me an-)"
*Bam!*
The fox slammed its hand on the ground destroying the building next to the Hokage as it roared. Behind Minato was team RWBY, and the fox's claw nicked Ruby's cheek as blood went down her face before her aura healed her.
Whatever Minato had said angered the Tailed Beast as people ran away, afraid of the beast that could destroy mountains. Ironwood growled in anger as he wondered what Minato had said that caused the fox to continue its destruction. He could only hope that he knew what he was doing because Ironwood knew that there was no weapon in Atlas that could contain or kill the fox.
Ruby fell onto the ground as she slowly crawled back. She could feel it, the fox's anger. Its malice...its hate...and its murderous intent. She started hyperventilating and imagined what would happen if its claw pierced through her. Would she survive? Could she survive? How would her teammates and friends feel? All these questions and thoughts rushed through Ruby's mind until she hit a wall. She felt cornered, helpless before the fox as her teammates finally took notice of her.
"R-Ruby! You need to calm down!" Weiss shouted as she did her best to calm her partner down. However, Ruby wasn't listening as she continued to hyperventilate. Yang watched, not knowing how to calm her down in this situation until Ruby was knocked out by Blake. Yang didn't know whether to yell or thank Blake for knocking Ruby out, but she only sighed knowing that Ruby wasn't listening to any of them.
"Fuzakeru Na! (You must truly be a fool…if you believe that I'm going to be sealed again!)" The fox roared, clearly showing anger towards being sealed again as Minato sighed and clenched his fist. He didn't have time for this. He had a family to return to and a village to protect from a mad man who had a very twisted ideology.
"I hate to do this, but there's no other choice. I need t—"
"(However…staying in this pathetic world is something I'd rather not do. So, I shall allow you to seal me…on one condition.)" The fox broke Minato's thoughts as he seemed hopeful but knew that the condition was not going to be in his favor.
"(I refuse to allow you to possess all my power…as such, you are to seal half of me within another…that is not Kushina Uzumaki.)" The fox declared as Minato glared at him. He knew what he was getting at. Sealing his other half into someone that wasn't his wife meant that they couldn't restrict his power.
However, a thought came to Minato, and it made him smile. Granted, of course, his wife would probably be furious with him, and he would probably need the fox's power to save him when she almost kills him, but he was going to be a little spiteful.
"Idaro, (I accept your condition. Let us get this over with.)" Minato said as he started going through hand signs before clasping his hands together. Suddenly, seals appeared as the fox was enveloped in a bright light before being sealed within the Fourth Hokage as on his stomach a seal of the Eight Trigram Seal.
Minato had collapsed to his knees as he struggled to breathe. "So much Chakra! My body's going numb!" Minato thought to himself as he started regaining his breath just as soldiers from Atlas dropped from the bullhead and surrounded the Hokage.
"Put your hands in the air!"
"Drop the weapon!"
The soldiers ordered as Minato couldn't understand what they were saying. He figured by the weapons they pointed at him they wanted him to surrender. Well, Minato had far more important things to do than entertain the higher-ups of this world. So, he looked at the soldiers and gave them all a weak smile.
"Ja Ne." Minato said as they were confused by his words before he vanished as he teleported to each of his kunai, picking them all up. Although, he did leave one of his markers on a wall in an alley, and he camouflaged it with the wall wanting to return one day to see how the city had been rebuilt. Well, that was assuming the seal he placed allowed him to return here, seeing as it was the masked man's and his Jutsu that brought them to Remnant.
He heard footsteps behind him. He turned around and held his kunai close to him in a defensive position as he recognized team RWBY.
"Them again? They aren't much of a threat, even with how my body feels." Minato thought to himself as Yang kept glaring daggers into him. She held Ruby on her back until she slowly put her to the ground and got back up, slamming her fist together while activating her gauntlets.
"I don't know who you are, or if you can understand me. But you can speak the same language as that monster, the monster that destroyed most of Vale, and the monster that almost killed Ruby." Yang growled out as Minato couldn't understand her words but could tell that she was angry. Still, he needed to return to his village and ensure that the masked man hadn't kidnapped his wife and child again.
"Then it vanished, and you had something to do with it. So, you're going to tell me where it is, and whether you like it or not I'm going to beat the information out of you!" Yang yelled as she charged the Hokage, ignoring her friends telling her to stop. Her eyes flared red as Minato almost mistaken them for the Sharingan if he hadn't noticed the lack of tomes in her eyes.
"Gomen nasai. (I don't know why you are angry with me, but I have a family to return to, and a village to protect. I'm sorry, but this is where we part ways.)." Minato said as before Yang could reach him; he vanished once more. Yang slowed down before tripping over herself and falling to the ground.
Blake ran over to her and helped her up as the blonde kept muttering "dammit" repeatedly with tears forming before she turned around and walked back to Ruby.
One could see raging fire across Vale from the sky with people being evacuated and others trying to find the Fourth Hokage. The Grimm at the borders continued to try and enter even after the fox vanished, from the people's despair as the broken moon reflected it all before changing into a full moon, with Minato appearing within the forest where he had vanished.
"Let's get moving." Minato muttered to himself before he vanished.
(When the masked man arrived)
The Masked man had just appeared in the forest where he and Minato had first vanished. He looked around and nodded to himself, now knowing that he was back in the Elemental Nations.
"If I wish to have some leverage over the Fourth Hokage, I must get his wife and child before he returns!" The masked man thought to himself as he vanished. He didn't know how much time had passed between the worlds, but he couldn't think about it as he rushed to the Hidden leaf village.
(Small TimeSkip)
The masked man appeared on a random street as he ran up the buildings before jumping across them. He didn't know where Kushina was and as such he couldn't teleport to her. He only assumed that they were within the Hokage's house as he raced to it. He continued jumping across the buildings as he was close to the Hokage's house when shuriken were thrown at him.
"What!?" The masked man shouted as the weapons went right through him. He then heard sizzling and turned to see that the kunai itself was a bomb. He growled as he jumped back, dodging the explosion as a cloud of smoke was created.
It soon died down as the masked man saw through and his eyes widened seeing teams of Anbu and Jonin guarding the Hokage's house as more appeared behind him. Leading them was the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi.
"Minato was correct. There was a masked individual who killed the caretakers and abducted Kushina for the Kyuubi." Hiruzen muttered as he stared down at the individual who was surrounded. If this were any Ninja or Huntsmen from Remnant, they would've known that escape was impossible. One would have to be a skilled Ninja or Huntsman to escape them all somewhat alive.
Well, there were no Huntsmen skilled enough to escape the elite Ninja. They could try, but they wouldn't even make it a full block before they were captured. And even skilled Ninjas would find it difficult to escape.
"How!? I know that Minato came with me. He couldn't have gotten here before me. Could he? He grabbed and left with Kushina but he was back instantly! As fast as he is, there should've been a small window of time before he could've returned to the area. Allowing me to escape." The masked man thought to himself as a familiar person landed next to Hiruzen.
It was Minato.
"I see you've returned. However, you're already too late. You're completely surrounded, surrender while you can." Minato called out as the man growled. He glared at the Fourth Hokage as behind him, another Minato appeared. Now it all made sense, the Shadow Clone Jutsu. The masked man couldn't believe he fell for a Shadow Clone, as he glared at the amount of Ninja around him.
While he could certainly take some of them on, it was complete suicide to take on the entirety of the high-ranking Ninjas of the village while there was also two Hokage. Plans would have to change, but it wasn't so grand that it affected everything he planned for. Even so, he chuckled as he started turning and looked at the Ninja who surrounded him.
"This was unexpected. I was caught off guard, transported to another world, and now I'm surrounded by Hidden Leaf Ninja. Truly, things didn't go according to my plans. However, know this..." The masked man started as from his sleeves five smoke bombs went into his hand as he through them on the ground. Black smoke appeared as the Ninja through Kunai and Shuriken in it, only to hit nothing as the man's voice came from the smoke.
"...I want you all to know that my plans will come to fruition. And not a single one of you can stop me." The man stated as one of the Anbu used a Wind Style Jutsu to clear the smoke. However, the man was gone with only a small vortex in the air showing where he was before it vanished. Minato and Hiruzen stared at the spot before Minato ordered everyone to search the village to make sure the man was truly gone.
They all nodded as they quickly vanished and searched the village. Minato sighed as his clone vanished and received its memories. He chuckled, seeing how Hiruzen was shocked by his appearance in his room. However, he looked to the Third Hokage and told him that he needed a meeting with him and the village elders.
"At this time of night, Minato? The elders will most certainly be annoyed if it's trivial matters. And while this matter is important, they may not see it as such." Hiruzen explained as Minato nodded. However, his discovery of the other world was very important, along with that the masked man knew of the weakened seal during the labor.
"Trust me, it's very important. I'll also need Inoichi so that I can show everyone my memories of what transpired." Minato explained as Hiruzen sighed but nodded. Two Anbu landed next to them and confirmed that the intruder was nowhere in the village. Minato thanked them as he sent them to gather the Elders and Inoichi for a meeting. They nodded and vanished once more.
(Timeskip)
"...And that's everything." Minato finished as the elders and Inoichi all looked equally shocked. None of them might've believed him if Inoichi hadn't shown everyone his memories. The world they saw couldn't have been a Genjutsu, the people they saw along with the mini fight Minato had with Yang were all too detailed. Not only that, but the machines they saw that could fly were far too advanced for someone to think of and create.
"This certainly puts things into perspective. It explains why Minato wanted the Anbu and Jonin around the village to wait for this masked individual." Hiruzen calmly said as the others agreed. Then it was the War Hawk of the village, Danzo, who chose to speak next.
"There are a few questions that I would like to ask. The first one is who is the masked man? It's clear that he's an Uchiha, and the only who could control the Nine-Tails is Wicked-Eye Fugaku." Danzo explained as the council agreed. However, Minato then interjected to defend the man.
"No. It couldn't have been Fugaku. It's true, he could very well control the Nine-Tails, however, I believe that the man is Madara Uchiha." Minato explained himself as they gasped at his name. Even Homura, the most composed man in the room, couldn't help but feel a little shaken by that name. It was quiet for a few moments until Koharu, the final member of the council spoke.
"He is dead, however. Still, he possessed tremendous power, and it could be possible that he's still alive." Koharu said as they found it a little hard to believe but they couldn't throw it out the window entirely. Madara had fought against Hashirama, the First Hokage, and he used the Nine-Tails during that battle.
"For now, let us assume that Madara is truly alive. That explains many things, how he knew that the seal was weakened during labor, freeing the Nine-Tails and taking control. However, aside from that, the biggest question is, what of this new world?" Minato asked as none of them had any ideas on what to say. The thought of another dimension never came to anyone's mind, mainly because they never had time to sit down and just think about such a possibility.
"Minato. You placed one of your teleportation seals, correct?" Hiruzen asked despite seeing the man's memories, wanting confirmation as Minato nodded. "It's obvious that this new world is highly more advanced than ours in technology, but I doubt that they have the means of leaving their world. Assuming that we can access their world through the seal, I would suggest that we send a small team for scouting and go from there." Hiruzen explained himself as the others were silent from his suggestion. It was clear he didn't mean to invade their world and start a war, no, he wanted to see what their world was like before they any bigger decisions.
"Before that, I'll need to see if I can go back and return." Minato interjected as they all agreed. Minato created a clone and gave him its orders. "All you need to do is try to teleport there. If you can, place another teleportation and hide it, then see if you can return. Understood?" Minato said as the clone nodded. It channeled its chakra to the teleportation seal as it vanished from the room.
No one said anything until the clone returned. For all they knew, the clone ended up somewhere completely different. Then, the clone reappeared as it poofed out of existence with Minato receiving its memories. Minato couldn't help but smile, knowing that they could travel back and forth between Remnant and the Elemental Nations. The elders knew from his smile that it was a success as they now started thinking back to Hiruzen's words.
"Now that we know. The next question is who do we send. It has to be High-Ranking Jonin and Anbu. That is known for sure." Homura asked as a few ninjas came to mind. Kakashi Hatake was one of them, along with Itachi Uchiha and Shisui Uchiha. Orochimaru was another candidate, and possibly Jiraiya. Of course, they couldn't all these ninjas without them having a team, or working in two-man teams. Either way, this was a decision that would need time, and it was very late at night and they all didn't have the energy for it.
"I almost forgot. The memories I received from my clone, about the destruction of the city, corresponds from the time that I arrived back in the village to now. Time moves the same there as it does for us. If a month passed here, a month would pass for them as well." Minato explained as they nodded. If time passed the same, then they could give and receive updates to the people they send there.
"I think we should continue this in the morning. It's late, we're all tired, and this is too much information to hear without having a headache." Hiruzen said as he rubbed his head. The other elders wouldn't admit it, but they were also getting tired, even Danzo wanted to go back to sleep. They all agreed to continue this in the morning, but before that.
"Fourth Hokage, you made a deal with the fox to seal half of him inside of another. Who is that?" Danzo asked as Minato nervously chuckled. The elders raised a brow, as they demanded to know who Minato was sealing the other half inside of.
"I'm planning to seal the other half...inside my son. As a matter of fact, it might be best that I go do this now." Minato explained himself as he quickly vanished before the elders could object. Hiruzen chuckled before he started explaining to Inoichi, who was still present, that he wasn't allowed to tell anyone of this. The man nodded as Hiruzen dismissed the meeting as they all started heading toward their home.
(1 year later)
An entire year had passed since the incident. Minato had met with the council multiple times to discuss the other world known as Remnant. It was kept secret until it was decided that they would involve the Clan Leaders from the village. Aside from Iniochi, who already knew and was sworn to secrecy, many were upset that they were not informed of this, while others were satisfied knowing that keeping such information secret was better than telling everyone.
When Kushina learned of this, she was also not happy when she wasn't told right away, but she also understood why her husband kept it a secret. At the same time, she was furious that Minato had burdened their child with half of the Fox's spirit. That was also kept secret, along with that Minato had been given the silent treatment for a week, so as to not cause mass panic and so that Minato could keep that embarrassment to himself.
However, today was the day that they would send a full team to Remnant. It was a choice, none of the Clans were forced to send one of their own into a strange unknown world. Out of the nine clans from the village, only four chose to send one of their own. Other than the Anbu that would be joining, which were very few, the teams were very small.
The Uchiha Clan, The Nara Clan, The Inuzuka Clan, and The Hyuga Clan volunteered for sending one of their own. Before, they only sent a two-person team as scouts for a week to learn as much as they could before they returned. And it just so happened that there were four different nations in Remnant, which reflected the four clans that volunteered.
"...The Anbu will be the ones delivering the most information. They're the ones who're infiltrating these nations for private information, while the "civilian" spies, will act like normal civilians, gain information through the basic ways." Shikaku explained as Minato, the elders, and the other Clan Leaders listened carefully as he broke down and simplified the mission. The plan was to send two members from each clan with a small team of Anbu, which was a cell of two, to each nation for reconnaissance for two years with an update on their progress every month.
"This is the day that we've been planning for. Every meeting has been for this, and it has been kept under wraps for a very long time and will continue to do so. The Clan Leaders who have chosen to not participate have been sworn to secrecy. The same is said for those that stayed. That being said, please bring forth those that you have chosen for this mission." Danzo spoke with authority as four Anbu appeared behind him. Minato's Anbu appeared behind him as well, as the deal between him and Minato was that they were to each pick four Anbu of their choosing. Once they learned who the members were, they would go from there.
"The two members I have chosen are Gaku Inuzuka and Hana Inuzuka!" Tsume proudly declared as Gaku and Hana appeared behind her. They both had stoic faces, not showing any emotion, but they were proud to have been chosen. Their ninja hounds were behind them as they were silent but their tails were wagging slightly.
"The members I chose are Shisui Uchiha and Izumi Uchiha." Fugaku calmly said as Shisui and Izumi stepped forward. Shisui managed to contain his excitement, but Izumi had a small smile on her face. Danzo raised a brow, knowing that there were many other Uchiha that could've been a better choice than her, but he chose to keep silent. Fugaku noticed and sent a look to Danzo as if saying that he would speak with him after this.
"The members of my choice are Suzaku Nara and Daen Nara." Shikaku said as his two members walked forward more calmly than the Inuzuka Clan but with a lazy look compared to the Uchihas. Still, they were proud that they were chosen for this mission and knew the risk that came with it as well.
"The members of my clan are Tokuma Hyuga and Ko Hyuga." Hisashi said as his clan members were already behind him. They never moved except when their eyes darted around the room. With the members introduced Minato nodded as he got up and walked towards the center of the room. He called the clan members forward as they walked up to him along with the Anbu.
"I shall transport you all to my marker. From there, you shall head to you're assigned nation and begin your mission. The Anbu shall check in on you at the end of every week with information for you both to swap until the monthly check-in. Other than that, despite the civilian act you shall have, how you obtain information is up to you, as always, the village secrets and where you're from are confidential. This is considered a High-Ranking S-Class Mission, and will not be filed." Minato explained as he grabbed ahold of the shoulders of Shisui and Hana before they vanished in a Yellow Flash.
(Remnant)
The group of Ninja arrived in an alleyway in Vale as Minato turned to them. "This will be the last time I will see you. If you have any questions, now is the time to ask."
"Sir, which nations shall we all be assigned to?" Shisui asked as Minato proceeded to tell them.
"Shisui and Izumi shall be here in Vale. Gaku and Hana shall be in Vacou. Suzaku and Dean are in Mistral. And Tokuma and Ko are in Atlas. The Anbu know where they are situated. Other than that, there is nothing else to tell you. The scrolls that you were given contain the basic information about the place you are situated in among other things pertaining to the mission. Dismissed!" Minato explained before the Ninja nodded and all vanished. Minato didn't leave right away as he placed another seal on the wall and camouflaged it. Before he did leave, he transformed into a bird and flew into the air to see the city of Vale.
The city had been mostly rebuilt, and even the craters that were caused had been filled up. He could still sense the uneasiness within the people, the anger, and the sadness as well. However, he couldn't console them as he continued flying around. Minato decided that this was enough and started flying back towards the ally when he noticed a group of girls walking down the street.
Team RWBY.
"It's them..." Minato thought to himself as he flew down and landed on a street light. They were laughing as they walked, but he could sense that Ruby had fear within her. A great amount of it as well. Still, he couldn't explain anything to her, more like he wouldn't as he stared at them a bit longer before he flew off. Ruby felt like she was being watched, and when she turned around she noticed a bird flying away in the direction where Minato had appeared.
She felt like following it but decided to ignore the feeling and kept walking. She had PTSD from that day one year ago, but with the help of her friends, she managed to get through everything. She still had nightmares, but something that would help her get through it was watching the video posted on the internet.
Minato fighting the Masked Man.
She was curious about him. And she wanted to meet him properly just once, to find out and learn about whatever he knew that was connected to the monster that day. Yang wanted nothing to do with him since he vanished but secretly wanted to fight him again. Blake was even more curious than Ruby, having her own stash of notes on him and the fox. Weiss also wanted nothing to do with him as well, and while she did do some digging around for the man, she came up with nothing and stopped her search then and there.
Atlas did their best to find the Yellow Flash but came up empty. Even with the video and his description, no one could find him. Ironwood gave the order to halt their searches and instead help Vale recover, but he still kept an eye out for the Fourth Hokage.
All in all, Vale had managed to recover and simply wanted to put the incident behind them. It also made humans and Faunus come closer together, as they helped one another out during the time of crisis. But now, they had highly trained Ninja from the same village. Along with the highest grade of assassins in the Hidden Leaf Village, and getting caught was something that wasn't in their plans.
(Back In Konoha)
Minato appeared back in the room as he noticed that the Clan Leaders had been patiently waiting for him along with the elders. He explained that he gave them all their missions and where they were all situated along with the scrolls. He left out that he took a fly around the city, knowing that they would disapprove of his actions.
"Well, we shall hear from them all in a month. For now, we should tell our clan members that they've been sent away on an extensive classified mission. Sounds like the easiest way for them to not ask too many questions." Shikaku suggested as Fugaku agreed. Minato agreed as well as no one had any objections, so Minato dismissed them. They bowed before vanishing as the Hokage sighed.
"Something wrong Minato? You don't seem too happy." Hiruzen asked as the two walked away. Minato explained that he didn't feel right spying on nations that they originally had no contact with and had no idea that even existed. Hiruzen agreed with him, but he knew that if they ever found a way to the village, their advanced technology would leave them at a great disadvantage.
"I understand that, Lord Third. It's not as if we're starting a war with them, and the unknown is always dangerous. But with Madara running around, we have a more important problem to deal with. Besides, spying on nations and gathering intel is what Ninja do. I suppose that I'm just feeling guilty for what happened to them." Minato admitted as the old man chuckled.
"That is perfectly alright Minato. However, you must also remember that this is for the sake of the village. Unknown nations with such advanced technology with unknown power can be an equal threat to Madara. Until then, we must treat this with the utmost importance. The clans that have participated have given up two of their members, and the shinobi have prepared themselves, knowing that they may never return. We mustn't second guess ourselves now, but believe that they will complete their mission to the best of their abilities." Hiruzen explained with wisdom as Minato nodded as he stopped walking and smiled at the old man.
"Thank you for the words, Lord Hiruzen. However, I think I'll spend the rest of the day with Kushian and Naruto." Minato said as he bowed slightly before he vanished. The old man chuckled as he looked out the window seeing the smiles of children playing and people walking about their day. He himself smiled before continuing his walk outside, knowing that getting some sun would do him some good.
End Chapter
Author's Note: I feel like this was more like a short story all in one chapter rather than a one-shot...oh well. This could probably be expanded upon as well, but whether I do that or not is debatable. Either way, I think it came out well. Also, those characters I used were ones I pulled from the wiki, the background characters because the main ones from the story aren't old enough to do anything. Like, Asuma, Guy, Kurenai, and others are in their early teens when Kurama attacked the village.
I also chose volume 2 for RWBY after the docks because it seemed like a decent place for the Kyuubi to attack. And btw, Salem cannot control Kurama on her best day and Kurama's worst. Atlas also has no means of harnessing Kurama's chakra, because they don't have the equipment to contain it. His chakra is toxic to everyone unless he wants them to use it. It's also very unstable, and more powerful than aura in every way. Salem could try, but she would fail as well as she would have no idea how to harness it.
Finally, Kurama being sealed in Minato to be split into half and in Naruto. It's a little out of character, but he's in a world where everyone is significantly weaker than him. Yes, because he's so much more powerful he could wipe out all the nations alone and possibly their entire planet, but at the same time he's also vengeful and would probably want revenge against Minato, Kushina, and others so he would go back just for that and not be bothered with anything else from Remnant.
Anyway, that should be it, nothing else for me to say except that I hope you enjoyed the short story as a one-shot.
