Authors Note:
Dabi and Overhaul never met in canon, but what would have happened if they did?
Touya_Todoroki_aka_Dabi (on Twitter and Ao3) and I (Just_Overhaul on Twitter and Ao3) asked ourselves the same question and tried out the idea in an RP. The result was this joint story :D Prepare for Yaoi.
Enjoy! ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
"Yes, thank you. See you later." Dabi ended his phone call. Grinning with satisfaction, he looked at the door of the opposite building, the narrow alley. He had been sitting on the fire escape, which was difficult to see, for some time. He knew he was not the only one observing here.
But overnight, the cops had been pulled off for the day about an hour ago, when the police got a call from Hawk's hero agency. - Good contacts were worth a lot -, the villain thought to himself.
As he jumped down from the fire escape, he slowly straightened up. "Without an audience, it's less fun." He muttered to himself after performing this dramatic jump.
But a narrow lip smile crept on Dabi's face, now the way was clear and he was getting closer to his goal. He walked unerringly and buoyantly towards the door and knocked.
Dabi looked suspiciously at the tall henchman who approached him. "I want to see your boss." He said demandingly and his look did not let him guess what he was thinking.
He was astonished when his counterpart made a quick phone call and handed him a smartphone. Skeptically he looked at the phone call, took a deep breath and answered it.
"Is the person I asked for on the phone? I don't let people play games with me." he said in a gruff voice, meanwhile maintaining eye contact with the henchman.

The arrhythmic clicking of the shogi stones broke the silence in Overhaul's sterile office like a broken second hand. He had actually allowed himself some free time that afternoon.
"A new strategy?" Chrono pushed forward one of his few remaining pawns.
Overhaul watched Chrono's move closely, returned the pawn's advance with that of his gold general, took the pawn out of play, and added it to his own ranks.
"Yes," Overhaul replied in a stoic manner, his gaze lingering on the shogi board. He had Chrono cornered and by now had most of his game pieces on his side. "A strategy for when Heroes kick down our door."
"Well," it escaped Chrono. "That scenario isn't too unlikely, either."
Carefully, the door opened, its creak interrupting their game.
"Overhaul." Mimic plodded into the office, holding a smartphone in his hand. "We have a visitor. He said he wants to talk to you. Dabi is his name. He's waiting in the garden."
Overhaul's gaze tightened. He had heard rumors about Dabi circulating in the underworld. If Overhaul could believe them, then Dabi belonged to the League of Villains.
"Give me the phone," Overhaul finally directed the word to Mimic, who nodded in compliance with his command, and handed Overhaul the smartphone.
"Dabi, is it? I don't want to seem rude, but you do realize that the cops are keeping a permanent watch on our yakuza - and you're a wanted Villain?"

Dabi's soft laughter sounded on the other end of the line. "Overhaul, greetings." His grin grew even wider. "You don't have to worry about them today." His turquoise eyes lit up craftily.
"Still, I make it a point to talk to you in person. Face to face." he added with a bit more emphasis.
"And why shouldn't I worry about the cops?" asked Overhaul skeptically.
"Because they're not observing here today." replied Dabi as calmly as possible, forcing himself to be patient, because after all, Overhaul's distrust was understandable.
He had come to enlist him as a partner and he would not let that stop him. "I always know what I'm doing, Overhaul. If you let me in, perhaps you too can benefit." He finished his rambling answer.
For a moment, the line seemed dead. "I see," Overhaul finally replied. "The fact that you were able to have the cops pull off doesn't make you particularly trustworthy in my eyes. So why should I let you into my house?"
Dabi ran his hand impatiently through his hair and closed his eyes. When he opened them again, he took a few steps away from the door and Overhaul's henchmen.
He couldn't give in to his anger now, especially not if his negotiating partners were to find out.
- Now, is not the time for that yet -, he thought and took a deep breath.
"When I hate something." He began in a deep raspy voice. "Then it is dishonesty." He paused again, a small blue flame danced in his hand, he looked at it. This sight calmed him.
He put all his anger into it so that his voice sounded calm and serene. The only thing that mattered was his goal, he had always subordinated everything to it.
He began without any emotion in his voice: "The heroes are the ones who must disappear from our society!'' I want to see them burn."

Overhaul paused for a moment, putting his head back. Either Dabi had caused trouble to distract the cops, or he had contacts with the light side. Maybe even to Heroes. Nevertheless, Overhaul had been able to detect a well-camouflaged trace of honest anger in Dabi's emotionless voice. Dabi actually detested the Heroes. So far, Overhaul had always been able to rely on his keen intuition, and the fact that someone from the League had come to them also played into his hands. They had a name he desperately needed.
"All right then," he finally addressed Dabi after careful consideration. "You made an effort to come here, after all, so we'll at least hear you out."
"You won't regret giving me your time." Dabi replied sincerely.
Overhaul hung up, then turned to Mimic. "Go get Dabi, will you?"
For a brief moment, Mimic hesitated before nodding. "Yessir."
Chrono, on the other hand, shrouded himself in silence. He didn't dare question Overhaul's decisions - unless Overhaul asked him to.
A soft sigh escaped Overhaul and he leaned back in his leather office chair. Dabi really had some nerve, Overhaul had to give him that. However, if push came to shove, Dabi would be at a disadvantage. After all, he was on foreign soil here, facing a small yakuza army on his own.

Dabi followed the other henchman, his hands buried in the pockets of his coat.
The villain loved it when a plan went the way he had set his mind to it. Both sides could come out winners and wouldn't attack each other, as they surely would have if Shigaragi had spoken up.
He did not speak a word, but tried to memorize the way, for in an emergency every second counted. Not that he harbored such feelings as fear, but he did not like it at all when something stood in the way of his goal.
After a while, he realized that it was not easy to remember the order of the turnoffs. It was an underground labyrinth!
He clenched his hands into fists, not for nothing he hid them in the pockets of the fireproof coat.
-It was on purpose, to make me lose my bearings-, he thought to himself, as they walked down another long corridor, the walls were boring gray.
His jaw tightened in anger, but again he admonished himself to be calm as they finally headed for a door that opened.
Dabi paused in the doorway, eyeing the room before his gaze rested on Overhaul. He nodded to him before saying in a rough, still emotionless voice. "Thank you for receiving me."
