Hello! Now, to get the obligatory stuff out of the way; this fic is the fifth of a bunch of one-shots I wrote going off of a list of prompts I found, one I unfortunately can't find anymore, based on a story I'm probably going to write in the future, or at least take place in the same game-based universe, featuring prototypes of real scenes I plan to include. So if anyone is reading these after my theoretical series has begun… Possible spoilers ahead. I may just straight-up use these scenes in the future. I'm going to be posting a lot more of these, so if you like this one, keep up with my profile!

Also, while if you've read my previous fics you are probably getting tired of this disclaimer; I use Japanese place and character names for Gen 1-4 stories, English localized names for Gens 5, 7 (except the protagonists), and 8, French localized names for 6, etc.

Because this one is so short, I decided to post this alongside another fic I wrote for the same prompt.

Seven year old Silver looked at his father with sparkling eyes.

The grunts stood in front of his father, their backs straight as planks, all of their undivided attention on their boss.

His father had a voice that was not loud; it did not have to be loud. For he did not have to raise his voice to command respect. It was firm, smooth, and strong.

With a look from his powerful eyes and the command of his voice, Team Rocket Boss Sakaki could demand the respect of any.

No matter how many times he saw his father, he never failed to impress Silver and fill him with awe.

And he was to be like that when he grew up.

He stood up straight like his father, widening his shoulders as much as he could.

Someday, that would be him. Powerful and strong. That was after all, what mattered in this world.

…Would it?

In that moment, his father may as well have stood atop Mt. Shirogane, Silver only able to admire him from the foot, basking in his glory. So far away. No matter how much he tried, he couldn't reach him.

No, he would, eventually.

And someday, he would make his father proud.
