Prologue
Our story begins in the futuristic Gotham City. Right now, the police were out on surveillance, when they suddenly saw what looked like a winged shadow fly by.
"Did you see that?!" an officer asked. The shadow then landed on a nearby building, revealing itself to be a man in a black suit with a red bat on the front. This is Terry McGinnis, the Batman of the Future.
"So, Kent, what's keeping you?" Batman asked.
"Actually, I was wondering the same thing about you." Superman said, causing Batman to see he was behind him.
"Always with the arrogance." Batman said.
After much discussion, Superman reached the conclusion that his case should be handled slowly.
"Thank you, McGinnis. This will make things much easier." Superman said before he flew off.
Batman then took flight again, keeping an eye out for crime. He saw it was quiet and decided to head back home. He flew quite a distance before he reached Wayne Manor and headed in. He found Bruce sitting in his chair.
"How are you holding up?" Terry asked.
"Can't complain. Though, I would have been better if you had eaten something before you left." Bruce said.
"I know." Terry said as he took the bowl of soup and ate.
"I overheard you talking to Dana. Congratulations." Bruce said.
"Thanks, Bruce, but we're not there yet." Terry said before he helped Bruce back to his room.
"Thank you, Terry." Bruce said as he fell asleep.
Terry then took his leave and headed home, saying, "No problem, Pops." as he went outside.
That weekend, Terry was waiting for Dana at the restaurant. He saw her just outside when she was suddenly grabbed and a hand flew over her mouth. He grew alarmed and quickly rushed outside, where he saw her being held by a crook with a knife.
"Now, hand over your money!" he said.
"Hey, let her go!" Terry said.
"Or what?!" the crook asked.
"Or you'll have to deal with me!" Terry said.
"Buzz off, punk!" the crook said, knocking Terry through a shop window.
"Terry!" Dana said.
"Shut up! Now hand over your money!" the crook said, putting the knife close to Dana's throat.
"Leave her alone!" a new voice said. They looked to see Batman on the roof above them.
"Batman!" the thug said. Dana kicked him in the knee and ran before Batman swooped down and knocked him to the ground with a punch.
"Are you okay?" Batman asked.
"Fine. Thanks, Batman." Dana said before she headed into the restaurant.
Later, Terry walked in and found Dana waiting for him.
"Sorry for the delay, Dana." Terry said.
"No problem." Dana said as their dinner was served.
After finishing their meal, Dana leaned back in her chair patting her stomach.
"That was delicious." Dana said.
"Glad you enjoyed it." Terry said.
Dana then remembered something, "Oh, yeah, Terry, didn't you say you wanted to ask me something?" she asked.
"Yeah, I do." Terry said, "Dana, you are one of the greatest and most wonderful girls I have ever met. You understood me when I told you about my job and that makes me more confident about my decisions when it comes to you. That's why I want to ask you this."
He then took the ring box out of his pocket and bent on one knee before opening it.
"Dana Tan, will you marry me?" Terry asked.
Dana was speechless as tears flowed from her eyes, "Yes." she said as Terry slipped the ring on her finger.
Some time later…
"I now pronounce this couple husband and wife." a priest said.
Dana leapt into Terry's arms and their family and friends applauded as they shared their first kiss as husband and wife.
9 months later…
Terry and Dana returned home to their friends and family, Bruce included, as they carried a small bundle of cloth.
"Everyone, meet our son." Dana said as she showed a baby boy with black hair.
"What's his name?" asked Mary.
"Timm Wayne McGinnis." Terry said, earning a smile from Bruce.
