[1972/6/30, 11 p.m.]

The summer holidays had arrived and all the students were excited about it, maybe except Sirius Black. He hated his parents, but he couldn't stay at Hogwarts either. Going home was his only choice.

"They will have me beaten for getting into Gryffindor, I suppose." he said to his friends after they got into the train.

"Really? My parents never beat me. Is it because they are all Slytherins?" asked Jane.

"They are mad." said Sirius without hesitation.

Everyone laughed.

"I'm serious." he said.

"We all know you are serious (Sirius), bro." said James. Sirius didn't laugh at the joke. He kept looking at the window.

Later, James invited Sirius to stay at his place. Sirius thanked him and agreed.

"On the second of July, I'll come to your place after saying hello to Andromeda and Regulus." he said. A smile appeared on his face.

Jane had to stay at James' house too, because she had nowhere to go. James warmly welcomed her.

They arrived at the station in the evening. They gave one another their addresses and departed.

On the next day, Jane went to Diagon Alley with Mrs. Potter to buy something she had wanted for a long time - her own, brand new broomstick.

"Would you like to have a Nimbus 1000?" asked Mrs. Potter.

Jane blushed. "I'll just have a Cleansweep, thanks." she said. She knew that the Potters were rich, but that doesn't mean she can take advantage of them. She decided to help them do the housework during her stay.
