On this very Halloween night, a terrible thing happened to Arya Potter and her twin Michael Potter, a dark wizard name Voldemort had came to their home to murder them, but something extraordinary happened, Arya moved in front of her brother as her magic could sense danger from the man to protect him. But no matter how hard the man beg the baby girl to move, she did not and got hit with the killing curse, causing a scar on her forehead while Michael got one across his cheek which had made him cry again even more.
But the dark wizard wasn't seen again. But after Lily and James found out about Voldemort dead or gone for now at least, they all thought, just as the wizard world did, that Michael was the one to defeat Voldemort.
But it hadn't been Michael, it was Arya Potter, the girl who lived. Or at least she believes that and has told no one because her parents are too busy spoiling Michael every chance they get, not paying attention to Arya. It doesn't help when Elizabeth, or Beth as she prefers to be called when she was a little older, they didn't pay attention to her either and left them alone for hours on end while they took Michael out to whatever he wanted.
And it happened again when Arya was 9 years old and Beth was 5 years old, she and Beth were playing wizard chess. Arya was trying to teach her how to play when they heard the door open. She looks to see their Uncle Remus, whom Arya wished with all of her magic that he was their godfather and not Sirius bloody Black.
Even though Arya suspects that James had something to do with that, ever since that night…she had not trusted the man.
"Remmy!" says Beth, going to hug him.
"Hey, Bethly." he said, hugging her back and then Arya.
"Hey, Ari. I got you two things from the muggle world." he said.
He passes Beth a Mulan doll, which she seems to have an obsession for, Arya can't even blame her, Mulan is one badass woman.
Remus then passes Arya a book, she opens it and looks at the cover. Song of Fire and Ice:Game Of Thrones.
"There's a little girl who has the same name as yours, and if I heard what is true, she is a brave girl who learnt how to fight, even blind." he said. "I know you're a little young for it but you're a very mature young girl, Ari."
Unlike some little punk.
"She sounds badass." she said.
"And I know how much you love your dragons which do have a big part in this book and big wolves."
She grins even more, she loves wolves and dragons. If she could she would get herself a husky or a German Shepherd, but Lily and James only brought what Michael only wanted.
"Now who's winning?" he asked looking at the chess board.
"Ari, who else?" pouts Beth.
"I bet." he laughs.
They sat down and played, then later they played a muggle game, Snake and Ladders. This time Beth won the game.
"Show off."
Then Remus gave them each a chocolate frog, and they went for the cards first. Beth got Godric Gryffindor, much to her disappointment since she already has him.
But Arya has gotten Merlin! But her green eyes caught her younger sister's face to see she was disappointed with Godric.
"Here, you can have mine." she said gently.
"Are you sure? I mean, you've been looking for him for aggges." she said.
"I know. I'll find him again, probably. But you've been looking for him, as you just said, for aggges." she said, poking her belly with each word.
She giggles and takes it, putting it in her jeans pocket. Then the door opened.
Great, the devil has come to release his evil on her, it must be her birthday. Not.
"Oh, Remus. Have you been here long?" James asked him, surprised.
"No, I must get along. I have some work to do." he said.
He then hugs Beth and Arya. He even gives Michael a hug, being the good godfather ever and leaves.
"What's that?" asked Michael, taking Beth's card.
"Michael, give it back to her!" snapped Arya trying to take it from him.
"Wow, it's Merlin, I've been looking for it ages!" he said, gleefully.
"No, it's Beth's card, she found it fair and square!" snapped Arya, she sometimes hates her twin but she still loves him, no matter how spoiled he is. "Now give it back!"
"NO! Dad, mom, Arya's being mad again!"
"Arya, NO! It belongs to Michael, not Beth. she can find him again." James said to her firmly.
But Arya knows how much he hates her just because she can do the force and dreams to train as a jedi but she struggles with it, sometimes she wonders if he put some blocking spell with it. It just wouldn't surprise her.
He has not been her father since that fateful halloween night.
"But-"
"ARYA! NO! IT IS MICHAEL"S NOT FUCKING YOURS!"
Beth jumps at his voice but Arya hugs her, whispering smoothing words.
"James, there's no need to shout. Arya, Beth go to your own rooms and do not come out." Lily says firmly.
The look on Beth's face was heartbreaking, Arya hated it. Sometimes she wished that she and Beth were somewhere else but she knows one day she will escape this hellhole and be free to be who she is. So she leads Beth upstairs, she goes into her own room, knowing what James is going to do to her.
But all in all honestly? She'd prefer this over than letting Beth go through what she has been keeping a secret from everyone.
She'd just wish a Jedi would come and save her and her sister from this hell. She accepts her fate as James comes into the room and locking the door…
