On one of the smaller islands in Alola, there is activity throughout the area. Near the ocean, boats are docking on the pier as they let passengers off and allow them inside the structure. Once the spectators head up the elevator, they marvel at the many pop-up stores and concession stands. In the center of the man-made structure, is where most of the crowd is heading towards. Inside is a gigantic stadium with thousands of spectators lining the stands. Near the top of the stadium, there is a male adult inside a booth, commentating the events from several television monitors as well as the stadium grounds. In the middle of it all, two boys are standing on opposite ends of the stadium grounds. On one end of the soccer-length battlefield, there stood Guzma, with an angered expression on his face. Looking on, all of the Team Skull grunts, even Plumeria, are watching him scold a bipedal bug-like Pokemon. Plumeria looks on in worry as the leader shouts out condescending remarks to the creature. However, on the other end of the stadium, the mood is a bit calmer. The other battler is a twelve-year-old boy, sporting a blue and white striped shirt, black and red shorts, and blue sneakers, and wearing a red and blue baseball cap. Near his left leg, there is a yellow mouse-like Pokemon looking up at the boy. "Don't you worry Pikachu, I'm fine," the boy names the creature as he gets a relieved smile from him. He then turns to the battlefield, where a reddish and orange cat-like Pokemon is shaking its body parts. "Torracat," the boy says as he looks at the creature with concern, "Are you all right?" The cat nods in response and then turns to snarl at the bug-like Pokemon. "Guzma's Scisor was the first to be eliminated, all that's left is Golisopod! Ash still has Torracat and Pikachu! Can Guzma turn things around?", the announcer says as he recaps the action to all of the spectators, young and old. A section of kids, all around Ash's age, chat with each other as they question a move earlier back in the match.

Back at the docks, another boat docks into the pier, as the captain welcomes a young girl to Manolo Stadium. As it turns out, it was Emi, stepping off the boat, and giving a friendly wave. She now sports a turquoise baseball cap and blue glasses on her head. On her body, there is a dark purple polo as well as a golden necklace with two golden swords as the pendant. On her lower body, Emi wears a pink pair of shorts, white socks, and black and yellow sneakers. As she walks up to the elevator, she gets on with a couple of other people. As the elevator stops at the top, Emi's eyes widen as she takes in all of the sights and sounds. "Wow, this is amazing!", she says under her breath as she explores the scenery. Her smile is then replaced with a curious grin and a raised brow as she spots a truck with several people and Pokemon surrounding it. As she heads over in that direction, a purple-haired boy spots her in the distance. "Wait a minute, I think I recognize her, Jessie...", he says with a bit of surprise in his voice. A magenta-haired girl also spots her, before rubbing her eyes in disbelief. "Are you sure that it's... really her, James?", she says, also with a bit of shock in her tone. As Emi arrives, she too is in astonishment. "Hey, aren't you guys Jessie and James of Team Rocket?", Emi says with a hint of caution in her voice. "No one else is here," the purple-haired boy says, "But, yes, you saw right through our disguise, didn't ya, Emi Sendou?" She nods as two Pokemon jump to join the trio of humans. Whilst one is an egg-colored cat, the other is like Ash's Pikachu, but it's a bit smaller and more unnerving. "Well I'll be, if isn't da sister of da famous Aichi Sendou, Emi!" the cat Pokemon says in a New York-like accent. "How's everyone back in your world?" Emi shrugs as she explains what's been going on back in her world. The entirety of the group is shocked by the details that she gives out. "Goodness gracious, that's sure a lot to take in," James admits as Jessie and the other two Pokemon nod in agreement. "So, Emi, you're here to help again?", Jessie asks Emi with a wink. "Yeah, certainly am. However, more importantly, where's Ash at?" James then tells Meowth to go get a portable TV from the food truck.

As the cat Pokemon comes out, they watch the match from the screen. As the caster explains to the audience, the score is one-to-one with Guzma still having Golisopod and Ash having only his Pikachu. As the camera pans to the field, it shows Guzma calling out to Ash with a demand. "Stop wasting my time, kid! Just accept the fact that you are a weak trainer and give this thing up!" Ash just shakes his head in denial, "Not a chance! We'll never give up!" As the battle continues, both of the Pokemon continue to dodge, strike, and shoot at the other. "Man, Ash, and Pikachu are surely unstoppable as always...", Emi says, blushing at the pair. Team Rocket nodded in approval as they watch Ash and Pikachu perform a series of movements, as something on Ash's wrist glows a bright yellow. "What the heck is Ash doing?", Emi asks as James looks at his bracelet. "It's called a Z-Move, Ms. Sendou.", James answers as Meowth steps to her, explaining the maneuver. He explains that in Alola, once per battle, Pokemon can unleash a powerful attack called a Z-Move. After performing a series of movements and poses, the attack can deal unfathomable amounts of damage to the opponent. However, on the TV screen, it shows that Golisopod withstood Pikachu's Z-Move, known as Gigavolt Havoc. As the group look stunned, the battle continued until the final clash. After a few seconds, Golisopod falls on its face as the commentator and a judge reveal the result of the battle. It is revealed Ash won and that meant he would move on to the finals of the Alola League. Emi smiles as the crowd outside cheers for Ash winning the match.

Back inside, as Guzma returns Golisopod to its Pokeball, he walks towards one of the stadium exits. He's then met by everyone on Team Skull, who praise him for his performance and skills. However, their leader walks past them all. Plumeria is puzzled as the young man heads out of the stadium and heads for the docks. As everyone looks on puzzled, Plumeria looks concerned about him. "Guzma, were you even listening to your followers? If not, why? Why did you do that?" As every grunt exits the stadium, Plumeria stays behind to search the stadium for Guzma. "So, you are strong, just as I thought you'd be", Gyze says as he talks to the leader, who is currently lying on one of the pier's benches. "Thanks, Gyze", the man says as he looks up at the ceiling, "To be honest, I wanted to unleash your power then, but it wasn't the right time..." The dragon then asks him when that time will be. "After the day someone wins the entire league, Gyze. When that happens... We will make our presence known." Guzma then sits up before hiding behind a stockpile of crates, making them into a makeshift hideaway.

It's now nightfall on the next day and the mood inside the stadium has changed. However, it was not because of a battle, it was the aftermath of the finals. After a three-on-three battle to decide the first-ever Alola League Champion, Ash emerged victorious. As the crowd showed their appreciation, a masked figure gives a trophy to Ash, with Pikachu on his shoulder. "Thanks so much, Masked Royal!", Ash says with a smile as Pikachu sniffs the golden trophy. In another room, three adult women are applauding the accomplishment when a beeping sound comes into the area. "An Ultra Wormhole! I'm getting a new reading!", a woman in pink clothing says as she checks her phone. "Where is it, Wicke?", a woman with extended blonde hair says to her. Just as a dark-skinned woman notices something going on in the crowd. "Lusamine, it looks like... It's right on top of us?!" As a crack in the sky slowly forms a hole, the crowd looks on in fear. "Wait, that's not right!", the woman in the middle says as her eyes widen. As Lusamine calls her name, Burnet, she explains why she's more flustered, "The readings show that it's not an Ultra Beast, but it's something else!" Back inside the stadium, a voice appears on the speakers. "Well, well, well...", it says with a sinister tone. "If it isn't the Champion and the Creator..." As the crowd murmurs, Ash spots Guzma, holding a card in his left hand. "Guzma?!", Ash says with shock in his voice. "What are you doing here, Guzma?", the Masked Royal says with a growl. "I'm here to end this league, before you can, Masked Royal, or should I say... Professor Kukui?!", Guzma says as he summons a black cape around his neck. The crowd gasps at the mention of Kukui. "I'm giving you one more chance, Kukui. I order you to cancel the rest of the league or else..."

As the crowd boos, the Masked Royal not only denies being Kukui but tells him that the 6-on-6 battle will still happen no matter what. Just then Guzma's expression turns from an angered frown to a sinister smirk. "I didn't care about Alola, you, not even that Ash kid," Guzma states as every one notices a hole being opened in the fog. "That's it, you asked for it", Guzma declares as the hole spews out a purple haze, "Everyone in attendance and this pathetic world, you shall all be silenced before me and my new master, the Dragon Deity of Destruction, Gyze!!" Just then, out of the Ultra Wormhole, a colossal mechanical dragon clad in silver armor appears. On its chest is a blue mechanical pod meant to contain something, but it's unsure what. "So, this is Alola...", the mechanical monstrosity says as it floats above the stadium. Outside, Team Rocket flees back into the truck in a panic, leaving only Emi, who is now gaping at the sight of the mechanical dragon. "Oh no, he's here...", Emi says as she takes out a deck of cards, which magically clones into another. On the bottom of this new deck, she looks at the face-up card, which is named Chronojet Dragon. At first, she frowns, but she then takes a deep breath. "Sorry, Chrono. Ash, hope you don't mind if you get some more help!", she then hurls the deck toward the stadium as it travels in a purple beam. She then looks back at the food truck before rushing inside the stadium grounds. Meanwhile, the sight of the dragon has caused almost all of the people inside and outside to retreat in fear.

The grounds are now quiet, except for a group of kids and adults that are still looking on at Guzma defiantly. The remaining people that are left then watch as Guzma orders Gyze to point a cannon at his head at the Masked Royal. Guzma then steps up to him with a smirk. "This is it, Kukui, I'm going to give you your final choice one final time." Kukui then eyes an insane Guzma, "Please, make it simple and leave along with this Gyze thing..." As he furrows his brows, Guzma just scoffs and states his choices, the spectators trying to hide their fear and put on brave faces. "So, what will it be? It couldn't be any more clear, dismiss the final match or watch Gyze and I destroy your dreams?" Everyone in the small group looks at Guzma in worry as the Masked Royal steps up to him. "Guzma, no matter how hard you try, no matter how many times we come face to face, you'll never make me or Kukui dismiss this league!" The small group nods in agreement as they get a devilish smile from Guzma in response. "Very well... Gyze?", Guzma says to the creature, "Finish him!" As the cannon charges up, the Masked Royal grits his teeth, ready for the oncoming attack. The kids and adults all cry out for the Masked Royal's safety, but just then a purple light emerges from one of the entrances/exits.

"Everyone!", a voice shouts out, just as the mechanical dragon gets sucker-punched from seemingly out of nowhere. Guzma turns around as he watches Ash who is riding on top of another mechanical dragon, but smaller than Gyze. "Attack him, Pikachu and Chronojet Dragon!", Ash shouts out, giving commands to the two creatures. As Ash gets off, the two fly off, trying to get close to their targets. "Don't let those two pests escape your grasp, Gyze!", Guzma screams out as his face tightens in anger. Just as Guzma was about to rip off the mask of the Masked Royal, a cacophony of sounds stopped him in his tracks. At that moment, Gyze was sparking, and Ash gave a command to end Gyze. Whilst Pikachu shoots an electric attack at Guzma, the humanoid dragon punches Gyze in the chest. Both impacts were so strong, they cause a chain of events that involve and affect everyone. First, the impacts of both attacks not only cause an explosion, but it cracks the chest container and whoever or whatever was inside came out. Next, in the middle of the explosion, Guzma and the Masked Royal go flying in separate directions. Whilst the Masked Royal flew to the right and into the wall, Guzma ends up flying into the container on Gyze's chest. Finally, as the smoke clears up, Gyze gets launched back into the Ultra Wormhole and disappears, just as the hole closed up. When everything was clear, the only things that were still standing, were Ash, Pikachu, and Chronojet Dragon. On the other side, the Masked Royal was unmasked. "Great job, Chronojet, return!", Ash says as he holds up a card, and the creature heads back inside. Ash then heads over, although a little shocked by who was underneath the mask. "Professor Kukui? Are you all right?", Ash worriedly calls out as Pikachu presses one of his black-tipped ears to his heart. Pikachu gives a thumbs up as Ash says to a group of four people, "He's OK, Hala, Olivia, Nanu, and Hapu. He's still breathing, he's just knocked out." As everyone breathes a sigh of relief, the dark-skinned male of the foursome asks everyone if it was alright to head back to the Pokemon School. Everyone nods in approval as the crowds head back on separate boats, whilst the kids and adults that were still in the stadium head back on their boat. As everyone meets at the front of the ship, Ash looks at his friends and rivals from the league. But just then, another face shows up as Burnet looks on in disbelief. "Ash, I have so many questions for you," she says looking back at Kukui. He and another person are now receiving medical attention. "But first, who is this fine young woman that seems to know you?", she asks Ash as Emi appears behind her, causing Ash and Pikachu to have stunned looks on their faces. "Hey there, Emi Sendou!", Ash says in disbelief. As the two embrace, her next statement stuns everyone. "It's good to see you too... Two-time Grand Champion, Ash Ketchum." It takes everyone a few seconds to process what she just said before they scream their response in unison.

"TWO TIME GRAND CHAMPION?!"

And so, Guzma and Gyze have struck the first blow, but tonight, The First Ever Alola Pokemon League Champion Ash had the last laugh! However, questions are still left unanswered! Just who was the person inside Gyze's chest? Who or what is Chronojet Dragon? And how in the world is Ash a Two Time Grand Champion?
