She's home, she's home! Why didn't she say anything when she came in? Ohwhogivesashit she's home!

If anyone else saw the way Amity acted when Luz came back home, Amity would have to kill them. And then promptly set herself on fire to circumvent the torturous death that is death by embarrassment. Because anyone with two brain cells to rub together could tell that no matter how well Amity held her head high, no matter how much stature the name Blight carried into a room, that she was a lost puppy dog whenever Luz came home. Not that she would ever admit that. Not unless Luz told her to.

That's probably some really heavy handed metaphor for something, but I do not care, because my girlfriend is home!

Amity made it back into the living space in perfect time to shower Luz with kisses and magnetize herself to the human's waist as she stepped inside.

"I missed you too!" Luz laughed in that Luz Noceda way that had Amity intoxicated with her since day one.

"Welcome back, hon!" Amity chimed, nustling her face into the crook of Luz's neck as she kicked the door closed. This was even bouncier than Amity normally was whenever Luz got back. Granted, Amity isn't one most would think as bouncy but Luz just had that Luz charm. Titan please let me see you smile more, Luz, it's making this whole day worth it and then some.

"What's gotten into you today? You seem extra…" Luz tapped her finger to her cheek (which Amity took the excuse to kiss the moment she could), "...Extra!"

Amity managed to compose herself. Well, as best as she could around Luz. She's smiling again!

"Well, I've been doing some studies while you were out," Amity says, trying to bring together some sense of self control, "about you and your human...things."

Luz's eyebrows popped up, and she giggled. She knew that when Amity wanted to study something she put her mind to it and only got lost in rabbit holes every now and then. After briefly rolodex-ing her way through all the possible things that Amity could've found the most interesting to ask about (a list that was just a little bit too long- WOW humans made a lot of things that could boggle the minds of non humans), she finally blanked.

"Is that so?" she asked, making her way over to the couch, "What did you find that has you wagging your tail?"

Amity plopped herself down next to Luz, either oblivious to the subtle innuendo (or purposefully brute forcing her way through it), and grinned ear to pointy ear.

"So, from what I've been reading, you humans would burn these plants, these...M-Ma...Mar...Guanja...Gan- Ganja?", she shook her head to reset her mouth, "A-Anyways! You would burn them for fun and breathe the smoke. Is that all true?" Please be true?

That came so far out of left field that it actually left Luz a little flushed. Good on Amity, giving Luz something to get revenge on her for later. How Amity, the most straight edge, focused, school minded, prim and proper girl Luz has ever known, could end up on pot of all things while trying to learn about humans had Luz's mind racing. Not that she was opposed to talking about it.

"Uhh...Y-Yeah, it's true," She laughed, the flustered look on her face passing, "but we always just called it weed."

After pulling her girlfriend in for a proper kiss - that's what she forgot to do! - Luz let her curiosity get the better of her.

"What were you doing looking up drugs, Miss Innocent Amity Blight?"

Titan I love it when she says my name. So much, just so so much. Say it again, please? Or never stop saying it! I would like that! Please?

Once Amity had come back down out of her Luz filled daydreams, she began to blush. Deeper and deeper red. It reached her ear tips, and she suddenly sat bolt upright. I am not a perv. I am not a perv. I am a student that is curious about the human world and its cultures and of Luz. Not in a pervy way.

"No reason!"

Luz Noceda's jaw was dropped - She looks so pretty when she's dumbfounded. - and it didn't take long for Luz's shock to turn into a devious smirk, one that Amity was totally not in any way finding hotter by the second. Luz sat straighter and straighter up, watching as Amity leaned further and further to the side, trying her best to not stare (and failing miserably).

"Oh...My...God! My Amity, my beautiful baby, my Prim and Proper, never-step-out-of-line goody two shoes Amity Blight wants to try getting high!"

"No-! Y-Yes! O-Ok, yes, I do-! But-!"

"But what? You wanted your girlfriend to make sure you don't freak out?"

Yes, yes, yes I do, everything feels so much safer when you're around, how can you know everything like this?!

"I-It's...When I was researching, I read a few times that...People would find smoking to be...Attractive," Amity said, feeling her blush creep across her face, "...A-And I wanted to confirm these findings for myself. A-As an experiment!"

"Oh, it'll be an experiment alright," Luz laughed, throwing her arms around her disaster of a girlfriend and planting a kiss on her cheek to calm her down.

Well it sorta worked.

Once Amity had her composure back, and the tint of her face had dropped back down from cherry to pastel, she glanced over at Luz, doing her best to fight the urge to go back to being a total mess.

"Have you...Did you ever try...Weed?" she asked.

Falling back into the couch, Luz took a moment to think, for once giving Amity space to watch her, with this apparently being one of Amity's favorite pastimes.

"Once or twice, truth be told."

"Was it fun?"

"I mean, yeah, there isn't a whole lot to it, but it's fun!"

"Oh, good! That's good, I would hope it would be."

"Did you bring food?"

Amity cocked her head for a moment, then nodded, remembering the stash of food she had hidden away earlier during her research. After hearing about what the "munchies" could do to someone, she wasn't quite sure if she was ready to face something like that, so she may have overprepared. Which became evident as several large bags of what Luz could only assume were something similar to potato chips fell over in the room across. Followed by several large drink bottles. And an avalanche of dip.

"But, where are you even going to get that stuff? Do witches even have access to that sort of stuff?" Luz asked, "Does it even grow in the Boiling Isles?"

Amity got another smile on her face, one of those "I've been smart" smiles that Luz loved seeing. It was the smile of someone who was way too proud of something, and it looked just adorable on Amity. She raised her chin and closed her eyes, raising a finger.

"No, but," she said, in a very matter of fact manner, "I was able to find the closest possible thing!"

The green haired witch produced a notebook, field to the brim with tabs, scribbles, doodles of Luz, and several long notes about several plant genus's and families, with a large page of link analysis, red lines of pen joining pictures of plants together, and on one page, a photo of a small flower circled several dozen times with red ink.

"Scutellaria Lamiaceae Anaspis," Amity said proudly. How she nailed all of that but struggled with marijuana, Luz had no clue, but the look of pride and excitement on her girlfriend's face quickly made her realize how little she cared about that.

On a bit of a nerdy roll, Amity continued. "It is split across from the human plant by only 4 genus's and 1 family, has been cultivated in the Boiling Isle's since ancient times, and most importantly, shares all the aspects that have been associated with the recreational use of mar...Mari….mary...uana," she cleared her throat, "It's actually quite interesting, the oroxinoids in Scutellaria are quite similar to the- mmnnm-!?"

Once Luz had sufficiently gotten enough of a kiss out of Amity (she had to, she just got too cute when she got all nerdy), she let the girl breathe again, and watched as that ocean of red took over again.

"I'm sorry but I had to! And besides," Luz said, resting a hand on Amity's thigh, "If you keep talking you won't get to conduct your...Experiment." Why did she emphasize it like that, why does she know all the buttons to press, how can she press them so well? Don't panic, don't panic, Titan she is hot.

"Ahem...R-Right, of course!"

Amity stood from the couch and quickly made her way into the next room, returning with several large bags of snacking foods and treats, and what might be the most pedantically, perfectly, exact blunt that Luz has ever seen sitting on a tiny tray. Not that she had seen many, but it was clear that Amity had kind of let some perfectionism take over. And Luz saw an opportunity, seeing as there was still some plant and some papers left on the tray.

"You clearly didn't read too closely, Amity," she said, reaching for the herb and one of the papers, starting to roll it into a fairly crude looking joint.

"What makes you say th-aaaaaat….?"

Amity trailed off, watching as Luz kept total eye contact as she slowly ran her tongue across the length of the paper, a tad slower than was probably (definitely) necessary. With a flick of her tongue for flair, she carefully folded the last edge over, and set it back down on the tray. Amity turned a deeper crimson, and quickly went to cover her face. Only to be stopped by Luz, who was beaming at her.

"Let's get started, shall we then?" She proposed.

"Y-Yeah! That sounds good!" Amity said, a smile creeping across her face.

"I love you so much."

"I love you, too."

Amity quickly grabbed the joint that Luz had rolled, for no particular reason, and brought a flame to her finger. Placing it in her mouth, she lit the other end, and sucked in. Only to immediately hack and cough, nearly throwing up and gasping for a breath as Luz squeezed her thigh. Well so much for trying to look like she knew what she was doing on her first try. Luz, knowing Amity well, decided it would just be best to demonstrate.

"Don't suck it," she explained, placing her own into her mouth and letting the witch light the end, "Just breathe."

Her breath was slow, the end of the joint becoming a brilliant amber, creeping up and away from Amity as Luz took a pull. She opened her mouth carefully, and rather than blowing out the smoke, she let it fall from her mouth, trailing up and dancing around the curves of her face. It wisped around her fingers, twirled through her hair, and glided over her lips. Her lips, oh if Amity Blight wasn't already a disaster, this would've killed her dead.

Amity just stared, in awe, the blush on her face creeping to her ears, to her neck, everywhere that could turn red turned red, and her eyes were transfixed on Luz, her girlfriend, who looked absolutely mesmerizing. How she managed to stop from kissing her then and there for the rest of the night (and for the rest of the foreseeable future), was nothing short of a miracle. But the fact that she had a joint that her girlfriend had licked just a little bit sensually was probably a factor in it.

Just breathe…

The heat filled her mouth, snaking its way down her throat and into her chest. While her tongue felt like it was slowly being burnt as the ember made its way down, her chest felt cozy. Like Luz was hugging her from behind and pulling her close, one of her favorite feelings. She breathed out slowly, smoke billowing out gently from her lips and across the couch. Luz gave her a near dreamy smile, eyes already sagging a little, clouds coming out from her nose.

"I have to hand it to you," Luz said, while Amity's shoulders began to fall, "You found something good here."

"D-Did I? Is...Is it like it should be?" She asked.

Luz nodded, leaning over and planting a kiss on Amity's lips after taking a drag, passing the smoke between the two of them, blowing it out her nose and sitting back.

Amity got a good look at Luz.

To say this was a better way of seeing Luz would not only be wrong, it would be unfair to her. Luz was perfect, and as far as Amity was concerned there was no better way to see her than with her own two eyes. But that wasn't to say it was the same way she had looked at her before. It was different. In a nice way.

The way the smoke curled in lovely patterns as it left Luz's mouth. The way it danced around her hair and her lips, the bright colors on Luz's signature two tone hoodie. The way she sat, so relaxed and so collected. It brought Amity a wave of calm, a feeling that she didn't feel too often without Luz around. Or maybe it was the scutellaria….No, no it was Luz.

All of it, it just made her feel…

Happy…

And she started to giggle. And giggle, and giggle, and soon Luz joined in too. They would stare at each other, giggle. Make eye contact, pause for a second, and giggle even harder. The blush spread across their faces, their cheeks turning rosy, and Amity scooted over closer, snuggling herself into Luz's side, eyes lazily glancing around. The smoke, the patterns, the carpet, the hoodie, Luz's face, the smoke…

Luz sat up a bit straighter, raising a finger, "Wait, wait! I forgot something…"

Luz produced her pocket device that she seemed to always have on her, whatever humans called it. And from her bag, a blue, pill shaped...Thing. It made a few beeps, blinked a couple of lights. Luz tapped the device a few times, slid her fingers, tapped again, and set it down. Slowly, music began playing from the blue pill looking thing, and they both fell back into the couch.

Amity found her head in Luz's lap, and her eyes slowly drifting in and out of sleep. She giggled with her girlfriend, who ran her fingers through the witch's hair. The snacks were opened up, and the two spent a good while, locked to the couch. Luz would occasionally sneak a kiss onto Amity's lips or cheek when she wasn't expecting it, snickering at the blush that crept across the girl's face and the sluggish reaction of pathetic, tired whining.

Amity let herself be entranced by the smoke, watching it leave Luz's lips, her nose, even shuddering a little when she occasionally blew it in her face - an act that she blamed on needing to sneeze. Luz never bought it, and Amity didn't care. She was in love, and she was getting to see the love of her life in a new way, a unique way.

"Just so you know," she murmured, "looking at you when I'm not...I'm not high is wayyy better."

Luz blushed a tad, watching her girlfriend smile and make a small victory fist pump at making her blush.

"I love you, Amity."

"I love you, too, Luz. Now hand me the snackies..."
