Sunny glared at the rock in the corner. Its image seemed to blur as if she wasn't focusing both eyes on it. It seemed to dance in the wind of the cold, dark cave that reminded her so much of her past life.

"-and then you'll have Glacier to deal with." The Nightwing behind her mumbled which seemed to not affect the Sandwing.

She continued to glare at the stone as moonlight began showing itself into the cave. "I'll deal with you later." Sunny growled at the stone.

"Pardon?" Her father asked behind her, his deep voice echoing softly through the cave.

Sunny was finally snapped out of her trance and turned to look at him, keeping the item safely tucked at the end of her tail, an item more dangerous then any Sandwing barb. "Not you. Sorry, what were you saying?"
He seemed amused as his eyes went from stony rough to pebbly endearment. "I'm just telling you this idea is heavily flawed." His gaze turned back to his fake uncaring look. "First, Burn will not stand for it. If she doesn't kill you, Blister surly will and even Blaze isn't stupid enough to show up."

She really wished ANYONE would agree with her plan. Why didn't they trust her? The plan was perfect! "First, Burn and Blister CAN'T kill me. Second, you overestimate Blaze's intelligence." She only met the youngest sister for a few minutes but she knew she wasn't very bright. "Just let me handle this. Do your part and it will work."

Stonemover let out a low mumble of annoyance as dinner, the fox, arrived with food for him. "To do my part is not a worry. You didn't give me much to do anyway."

Sunny grinned at him. "I figured even you could handle it. Besides, a big scary Nightwing is all I need."

He laughed half heartedly and smiled back at her. "I really want this to succeed…can you imagine what your mother would do to me if Burn sent you back without a head?"

Sunny stifled a giggle as she heard wing beats in the distance. "Shush and get into character. I think our first guest is arriving."

Sunny sat with an emotionless expression (Practiced with Glory) and as the youngest Sandwing sister entered, Sunny nodded to her. "I'm glad you could make it."

Blaze looked in the cave like it was a rock in her jewel collection. "Could you five really not find a nicer place? Isn't this like, super important? And where's the other four? I thought there were five of you? Wasn't there five? I counted five. Well, four plus the Rainwing but if she's part of it that's fine as long as I get to be Queen."

Sunny resisted the urge to bite her. "I'll tell you what I want to tell when your sisters arrive. I advise you to find a comfortable seat."

Blaze bit her lip, staring at Sunny with uncertainty. "Actually, I was hoping you could tell me if you were telling me who you picked BEFORE my sisters arrived. I don't think they'll like seeing me and I really don't want to see them so if you could just say 'Hey Blaze, we're choosing you, congratulations!' then I can leave and let you kill them while I celebrate with Queen Glacier."

Sunny laughed but not in a joking manner. She sounded like someone had just asked whether dragons needed water to live. "I can't do that. Either you stay or you are out of the running. Though you CAN leave." She said, waving to the exit.

Blaze looked aghast. "B-but they'll kill me if they see me!" She cried, her claws shaking beneath her. "I-I can't fight them by myself! I need like, an Icewing, or three Icewings!" She looked around as if expecting three Icewings to jump to her defense.

The small Sandwing was starting to see flaws in her plan. "I'll make sure they don't kill you. Even together, they couldn't stop me." She said with an impressive aura of confidence that didn't suit a Sandwing her size, much less one without a barb.

Blaze seemed to still be unsure and tried to look at the Sandwings' tail which was covered behind her. "But aren't you the weird Sandwing? You know, the one without a tail barb and with the weird colors and super small?" When Sunny didn't say anything, Blaze winced. "Uh, is that mean? I wasn't trying to be mean, I was just stating the obvious." She really didn't sound all that sorry.

"I'm the Sandwing of destiny and if you want to live, you have to trust me. Or fly back to Glacier and give up the throne. Your choice." Sunny watched as Blaze didn't move, her small mind seeming to register her options before walking rather close to Sunny and notably, away from where her sisters would enter. "Good choice. And would you look at that, someone else has decided to join us."

The snake-like viper that was Blister slithered her way into the cave and chuckled as Blaze yelped in alarm. She was just as slimy and evil as Sunny had remembered but there was a glow in her eyes that could only be satisfied with murduer. "My little sister. How have you been? I've been sooooo worried about you."

When she tried to approach Blaze, Sunny glared at her. "You can sit on the other side of the room or Sandwing poison will be the second worst injury a dragon could have right now." Her confidence didn't seem to deter Blister who turned her head to Sunny.

"Ah, and what can a stunted Sandwing like you do, hm? Hope destiny saves you?"

Sunny shrugged. "It's been a good strategy so far."

Blaze looked back and forth between the two with a worried look lining her scales. "C-could we just decide here? You know, before Burn shows up?"

Blister looked at Blaze in a way she never thought was possible. For once, she saw her sister as that. An annoying little sister that she had to tolerate. Not as a dragon that needed to be killed. "You really think that hot head will show up? She couldn't even make it to dinners at our own palace on time."

Blaze let out a small giggle. "Yeah, remember when she interrupted Queen Moorhen because she thought the Mudwing was just a messenger?"

Blister rolled her eyes. "Oh moons, didn't that stupid Seawing remind you of her?"
Blaze nodded enthusiastically, the two sisters for a moment forgetting that only one of them could survive. Sunny did NOT like the idea of Burn and Tsunami being similar but if it kept them from killing each other, it couldn't hurt. "I'm going to shed a tear if you two keep displaying such sisterly love over making fun of Burn, but I'd really prefer you find a seat, Blister."
The middle Sandwings eyes darted back to Sunny, returning to her familiar sneer. "I think you're bluffing." She said, taking a step closer to Sunny with her tail prepared to strike. "I think I can kill you right now and nothing will happen. Especially with how that Nightwing looks. Believe me, I Really want to kill a Nightwing right now."

"Try it then. Stab your tail right through my heart. If you really think I'm bluffing." She narrowed her eyes as the two's eyes met.
Blaze looked ready to leap out of the cave if things went south. Blister seemed to be calculating her options and Sunny sat as confident as ever. Blister smiled and lunged forward, sending her tail like a dart through the air and right as it was about to reach Sunny's heart, a yellow light emitted from behind Sunny, going right through her and striking the Sandwing. It was as if an invisible force had shoved her out of the way as electricity cackled through her body, making her shiver on the floor in front of Sunny who looked the same as if she had not just been attacked.

"Thanks for the stoneface training, Glory."

Blaze looked horrified. "What did you do?! How did you do that?!" She asked while Blister slowly stopped her shaking and growled at Sunny but didn't dare attack.

Sunny didn't smile or even acknowledge Blister. She looked directly at Blaze while she spoke. "I'll show you when Burn arrives." She said simply and Blister made her way to a corner in the room, hugging her tail which had ash lining its end.

The storm outside was unsettling. It made Sunny wonder if destiny was trying to tell her it was a bad idea. Then again, looking at Blister and Blaze, who seemed to not seem to want to kill each other and remembered why she was doing this. She had to believe in herself. Even louder wing beats than the ones before could be heard and Blaze seemed to prepare by hiding in a corner as well and the giant form of a soaking wet Sandwing covered the entrance of the cave. She looked way more threatening than her sisters. She towered over the others but didn't pay them any mind. She didn't even look at Blister who was sticking out her tongue at the oldest princess.

"So, here's three of the seven dragons I really want dead. How fitting." Her voice boomed through the cave.

Blister hissed. "I'm surprised you showed up. I figured you would think it was a trap."

"I'm not afraid of a trap. I can kill both of you without lifting a talon." Burn growled.

Blister snickered. "Yes, you won't use your claws but we all know your tail outranges both of us. A very fair handicap."

Sunny continued to stare at Burn. "I've already told them to find a seat and I advise you to do the same."

Burn looked at Sunny with hidden anger. "So what's stopping me from killing you right now and claiming the throne?"

Blister looked as if her eyes glowed. "Oooo, why don't we take her together? Sister and sister working together to take out a common enemy? Even Blaze can join in, can't you, Blaze?"
The youngest looked worriedly from all three Sandwings and let out a small whimper while Burn glared at her sister. "I don't need your help, lizard breath." She approached Sunny while Blister smiled happily from her spot.

"Whatever you say dear sister. Attack her alone if you wish."

Burn didn't need to be told twice and just like Blister before her, she was reduced to writhing mess which Blister found delightful and Blaze looked away to not see it. Once back on her feet, she looked at Sunny with deep, pure resentment.

Sunny looked back at her, noticing the ash on the claw that almost reached her. "Once we're done with trying to kill me, we can get started but I can wait if one of you wants to try again. Blaze? You haven't had a shot yet." When the youngest sister shook her head, Sunny continued. "Good. So are we ready to begin?"

Burn remained in front of Sunny but didn't dare attack her. "So what? I don't need to kill you to take the throne. I can just kill them," She said and flicked her tail at Blaze and Blister. "And claim the throne that way."

Sunny sighed heavily. "Do that and I'll finish you off myself. Now, let's begin. Fir-"

"May we ask a few questions, dear Sandwing of destiny?" Blister still sounded like Sunny was just an annoying bug that needed to be squashed.

Sunny considered this. She didn't really worry about what they could do but the rock seemed to blur even more. "I don't see why not. Ask away."

Blister grinned wickedly at her. "Well then, I think we would all be very interested in what happened to all of you. I know of Scarlets arena and the kingdom of the sea but what else have you five done? I'll admit, I'm very curious."
When Blaze and Burn seemed interested as well, Sunny decided there wasn't much harm telling the whole story. "Scarlet found us after we escaped our home under the mountain. We escaped and went to the kingdom of the sea where we were forced to leave once again, going to the Rainforest."

Burn scowled. "We already know this part. What happened after? When did you kidnap my prisoner?"

"I'll get to that in a minute. Now where was I? Oh yeah, we made it to the Rainforest where we learned about the Nightwing's secret island location. Blisters plot to take the throne and attack the Rainwings alongside the Nightwings."

Even Burn looked surprised at that. "Where is it? I have some dragons I want dead." And Blister shared this feeling it seemed.
"Well too bad. The volcano erupted and Queen Glory, oh yeah, she's Queen of the Rainwings and Nightwings now, allowed them to stay and that's when I visited the Sandwing castle. Scarlet escaped in the chaos and I found a pretty interesting item. That's when I went back to the Rainforest and came up with a plan to end the war with the others."

Blaze gulped. "Two tribes under one Queen? Is that even possible?"

Burn growled. "Of course not. It will fall apart in a few days. Besides, a Rainwing Queen? They'll never accept it."

"Better than dying on the island. Besides, she isn't too bad. She got an army of Rainwings to invade the island and free their prisoners."

Blister kicked a stone. "You five really do cause nothing but chaos. First the Skywing debacle, then the Seawing nonsense and now even messing up the almighty Nightwings? Impressive."

Sunny nodded at her. "Yes, we are very impressive. Now, anymore questions?"

Burn slammed her claw into the ground, trying to disrupt Sunny but she held her ground. "Yes, why did they send the weakest runt to ever hatch to do this alone? How do we know you aren't doing this yourself?"

Sunny flared her wings. "We figured it was best for the Sandwing dragonet to tell you the decision. It just felt right. Besides, it was enough trouble to squeeze today into my very busy schedule. Saving the world doesn't give you a lot of free time."

Blaze seemed satisfied with that but Blister didn't. "Oh yes, thank you for gracing us with your presence."

"I'll take one more question." Sunny stated.

The other two looked at Blaze who shrunk under their gaze. "Um…what happened to the Skywing?"

Sunny laid her wings down. "We have Glory the Rainwing. She's better than any Skywing. Besides, it turns out the Nightwings lied about most of the prophecy." Now she had all of their attention. "You see, they wanted to use it as a way to take over the Rainforest. What it actually said was 'of three sisters, Blister Blaze and Burn, all shall fight and all shall learn. To accept their fate from the eye ever higher, they shall be given the wings of fire.' pretty big change if I'm being honest." "Thank you Starflight and Fatespeaker for being good with words." It wasn't perfect but hopefully they would buy it.

"I don't need a prophecy to determine my fate." Burn growled once more. "Get to the point. What have you decided?"

Sunny waited for them all to take a seat and she looked over the three candidates. "Well, we decided none of you are truly Queen material. Burn, you had years to show how you would rule the kingdom of sand and the fact that they still choose Blaze over you is enough." Burn hissed but Sunny continued. "Blister? You already tried to take over another kingdom before even gaining power. A terrible choice." Blister didn't seem offended, in fact she smiled proudly to herself. "Finally, Blaze, you know you don't have any right to be Queen. Glacier does all the work for you and all you do is sit there looking pretty."

"Oh! You think I'm pretty too? I knew it!" She said happily and Blister scoffed while Burn rolled her eyes.

"The POINT is that none of you are worthy." Sunny said finally.

Blister and Blaze were silent, staring at Burn who didn't move. "So what? I don't care what a couple of stupid dragonets say. I AM the rightful Queen and why would my tribe be expected to accept anything different from a dragon who doesn't belong anywhere?"

Sunny did something to throw Burn off guard. The older Sandwing seemed unnerved when Sunny simply smiled at her. "Because of this." She unfolded her tail and the three sisters gasped as the ancient Sandwing artifact stared at them with unblinking eyes. "Looks like you three already know what it is."

Blister hissed even more like a snake then ever. "How did you get the eye of Onyx?"

Sunny took it in her talons. "I found it after I escaped the castle. Buried deep in the sand, hidden inside of your mother. Turns out she never gave up her throne after all, letting it be buried with her. Even in death she's still a better Queen than any of you. In fact, it was practically handed to me. It looks like I am more worthy than any of you."
Blister wore a look of deep hatred. "And all Sandwings will just bow to their new Queen? I expect even you know they wouldn't dare."

"I agree." That seemed to stun them. "It would be pretty weird to have a Sandwing that isn't even royal to be Queen and if I'm being honest, I'd rather hang out with my real tribe. The other dragonets." Now that they were all staring at her with interest, she continued. "So here's my proposal. In exchange for not taking my rightful place as Queen, I want the three of you to work together as three Queens."

Silence. Long, terrible silence.

"Are you done with your temper tantrums?"

Blister and Burn roared in anger. Their tales lashed wildly, as if seeking for a target. Neither one seemed particularly thrilled at Sunny's proposed solution to ending the war. Burn looked about ready to kill Sunny even if it meant a fate just as bad for herself. Blister on the other hand seemed about ready to massacre an entire village. For once, the two sisters seemed to be on the same page.

"I'd rather get turned to dust than share a throne with these snails!" Burn yelled at Sunny, getting daringly close.

Blister seemed in agreement. "I have worked too hard for the end of this war to have three Queens as the solution." She paced around her corner for an annoyingly long time.

How much of this plan did Sunny think would be well received? None, probably.
If you two don't want to share, then I might as well just pick Blaze. She seems the most cooperative of the group."

Once more, Blaze was being glared at by both sisters. "I-I just think it works!" She said desperately. "I don't get killed, we all get a throne…yay?"

Not very convincing.

But Sunny had made her offer. "That's all I'm giving you three. Either you all work together, or I take over. Make your choice."

Blister curled her mouth into an evil smile. "And what's stopping us from simply working together to kill you and your friends? I think we can put our war on hold for that, what do you two say?"

Burn nodded in agreement but Blaze continued to just mumble nonsense to herself.

Sunny returned her grin. "Because I have an army of Rainwings who took on the Nightwing castle, won, and added Nightwings to our ranks. Not to mention that Tsunami's mother is the Seawing Queen. I'm sure she would be happy to assist us if it meant ending the war." "Not to mention mom. Her and the Outclaws would be a real pain in their sides if they dared to attack." She ruffled her wings to look more intimidating. "So if you really want to try your luck, I'm sure Queen Glory would welcome the challenge. What better way to unite the two tribes then to fight against Sandwings?"

Sunny may not have wanted that as the outcome, but the sisters didn't know that and they all looked unsure in their plan. Blaze curled her tail next to her. "I don't think we should fight them…"

Blister nodded, surprising Sunny. "I don't doubt that coward Coral would have switched sides. So tell me all mighty dragonet of destiny," She said the words like they were poison dripping off her tongue. "How do you expect us to work together? What's to stop us from just killing each other and taking over?"

Sunny took a deep breath before giving her prepared speech. Clay had helped her with this for days. "Because, the Sandwing army likes Burn. They know she's willing to fight alongside them and with her in charge, no one would dare attack the desert. Blister, you're smart. One of the smartest dragons in all of Pyrrhia. If anyone can run a kingdom and talk other royals into agreements, it's you. The two of you would be unstoppable if you could set aside this stupid desire for total power."

Burn pointed to Blaze. "Then why keep her alive? Seems like a pain to do."

Blaze yelped but Sunny continued. "Because the Sandwings as a whole like her. If she gave public appearances, hosted events and gave speeches, the Sandwings would be a lot more willing to follow your rule. Isn't it easier to lead dragons who want to be led then forcing them into submission? Blaze gives you two an easy route and every dragon will know what each sister is doing. Every dragon will give you each credit and you will all be able to lead in your own way while also keeping the kingdom safe."

Blister gazed at Sunny with interest. "That didn't answer the second question."

"Because if one of you dies, I'm showing up with the eye of Onyx to finish off the other two. Isn't it great? A way for all of you to want to keep each other safe!" She laughed at her own design, especially at how frustrated they looked.

Burn smashed a rock in her claws. "Then what about heirs? If there are three Queens, do they have to beat all three of us? What if they only kill one or two of us?"

Sunny held the eye of Onyx higher. "I expect all of you to rule for a long time. But during that time, I want you to all look for suitable Sandwings that could one day become Queen if they are worthy. Send them to me and I'll test them with the Eye. If they pass, you can train them to take over. Or, you three can just let me find one or even have dragonets of your own. Who knows? Maybe having multiple Queens will become the norm."

They all still looked unsure but Blaze spoke up in support, making Burn bristle. "I'm guessing we don't have much of a choice?"

"Nope. Now I advise you three shake claws since you'll be working together for a LOOONG time."

Burn grinned wickedly. "No. We're going to slash on it."

Now it was Sunny's turn to look surprised. "Slash it?"

Blase smiled happily. "OOOO! Can I go first? You two NEVER let me go first" After Burn gave her a nod, Blaze looked around happily for something in the cave while Blister scowled.
"You're only doing this because you know I hate it." Blister growled.

Burn waved a claw, feigning innocence. "I would never! How mean."

Sunny leaned back to whisper to Stonemover. "Should I stop them? What if Burn has something planned?"

The Nightwing shook his head. "Just watch."

Blaze found a giant stone and placed it in the middle of the cave. She raised her tail and took a deep breath. "I agree to the terms." And slashed a pretty crooked mark into the stone.

Burn repeated the phrase and made a much larger, straighter slash, making an X on the stone. She passed it over to Blister who grumbly left her own mark, making her's even more crooked as it seemed she didn't even try.

"Well, looks like we all agree. Now, small Sandwing." Burn said, sounding a lot more intimidating. "Tell me, what if we ever have disagreements with Queen Glory? I do hope our position as Queens isn't compromised by our little situation."

Sunny nodded, standing up. "No problem. Any Queenly matters I'll leave up to you. As long as you three don't kill each other, I won't have to intervene. I'll fight on Glory's side, but I won't go after any of you. Besides, just don't attack the Rainforest and you'll be good." She waited for them all to look more at ease, seeming to be more open to the idea of three Queens. That's when she was ready to end the discussion. "Now that we have what you HAVE to do over with, here are some things I would like for you to do but you don't actually have too. One, please let Smolder finally be happy? You three know how bad he was treated under Oasis and wouldn't it be cool to have a brother that wants to help?"

Burn shrugged. "Whatever. As long as his stupid scavenger doesn't annoy me."

"You let him keep it for this long?" Blister asked, raising an eyebrow.

Blaze looked elated. "She's still alive? I want to see her! She was so cute!"

Burn rolled her eyes, probably wishing the scavenger had an extra arm.

"Fine. We won't bother him. He can go frolicing with those Rainwings for all I care."

Sunny smiled warmly at her. "Good. Then I only have one more request."

The three agreed to leave at the same time. Blaze would grab her Sandwings and Blister would grab hers. The next day, they would arrive at the castle where Burn would have fixed up the stronghold to look like an actual castle. Sunny was just happy the war would finally be over. The dragonets would have to be there where Smolder, who they all agreed to be their speaker, would announce the 'actual' prophecy and what happened. Sunny was just glad it was all over…

"So, how unprofessional is it to leave your kingdom as Queen just to watch the end of a war?"

Stonemover tilted his head behind her. "What?"
"Not you, dad. Her." Sunny said, flicking her tail at the shimmering rock.

The shimmers turned into a green and blue Rainwing who smiled proudly at the small Sandwing with a look of guilt. "If it makes you feel better, I convinced Clay and Tsunami not to show up. It could have been worse."

Sunny tried to look mad but honestly? She was just happy that one of them saw how effective she could be. "Alright. Well I'm more surprised they took the deal. Who'd have thought Sandwings liked fruit that much?"

Glory snickered. "Three moons. Imagine a line of Rainwings offering a piece of fruit for an hour of sun time in the desert. It's going to be a nightmare."

Sunny giggled as well at the thought of Jambu and Pineapple sleeping in the desert. "Well let's get back. We have a celebration in two days to attend. Aren't you excited?"

Glory nodded, waving at Stonemover as they took off. "I'm just glad it turned out ok. But you know the world is still going to take forever to fix, right? Life isn't some story in a scroll. This war affected everyone."

"I know. But maybe this will allow the world to slowly heal. It's the best we could do and personally, I'm happy no other dragons had to die for this outcome." Sunny said, flapping her wings beside the Queen of not one but two tribes.

Glory stared at her friend with a newfound respect. "I figured if anyone would face the Princesses, it would be Tsunami. You were pretty impressive." Sunny's smile told Glory how much the small Sandwing appreciated it. "Guess I owe Starflight four mangoes. He said you'd make it out with all three sisters alive. I said two." She received a slap from Sunny's tail though it felt like a small twig. "Hey! Respect your Queen."

Sunny giggled hysterically, flying closer to Glory as the sun started rising. "Whatever. Now about that Idea of mine?"

Glory gave her a look of skepticism. The idea was so far-fetched, so destined to fail. "When you talked about it yesterday, I thought it was impossible." She looked back to Sunny. "But after today, Maybe some things we thought couldn't happen could only be achieved through a strong desire to make the world better. Not just for us, but for dragonets not yet born."

Sunny gave Glory a look of deep confusion before grinning at her. "Who did you steal that quote from?"

Glory shrugged. "Clay. I asked him about the school and that's basically what he said."
"I figured you couldn't come up with that yourself." Sunny laughed as Glory lightly rammed into her side.

"I can be linguistic if I want to! I have to write speeches, you know."

Sunny stared off into the rising sun. "Yeah yeah Starflight." Glory let out a low, subdued laugh. "So, about that school?"

The original outcome is still what I prefer but I figured this would be a cool story to write.
