Stood leaning on the bathroom sink, Gisele stared down at the stick in the sink with the little pink plus sign showing as clear as day on it.
Han would be returning home I'm exactly an hour, after spending two days away, visiting with Dom and Brian. She planned to break the news to him first thing when he settled back in, but for now she had to get creative.
Walking over to the storage cupboard, she pulled out five boxes and a bag of gifts that she had brought over the past two days after she had first suspected that she was pregnant. Taking it out into the lounge, she went back and got some wrapping paper and sellotape. After placing them down, she went into the kitchen and rummaged through the drawers until she found a pair of scissors. Now having everything that she needed to get started, she placed herself down in centre of the floor, surrounded by all the items that she had just dug out.
Taking the first box; which was also the smallest, she placed the positive stick in the middle of it and then added some blue and pink confetti before sealing it shut with some tape. Happy with the result, she moved on to the next box; one that was slightly bigger than the previous one.
Looking through the bag of gifts, she pulled out what she was searching for; a coffee mug with the words I heart daddy written on the front. Placing it in the center of the box, which had a soft cushioning at the bottom, she repeated the same procedure.
Moving onto the next box, which was slightly bigger than both of the previous boxes, she shoved her hand into the gift bag and this time pulled out a white baby blanket along with a dummy and a necklace that Han had gifted to her back in London; a locket heart with a picture of the two of them on the inside. Though she had replaced the original picture with one of the two of them holding Brian's son Jack as a baby. Placing them all in the box, she covered them with confetti and then sealed the third box, putting it in a line with the others that she had finished with.
The fourth box was the second biggest, and in this one, she placed a few gifts she had brought specifically for Han; A model of his beloved Mazda RX7 that he sadly lost when Deckard Shaw blew it up, a framed photo of the whole crew together, and a remix CD she had made of his favourite song; Tokyo Drift. Once she had them perfectly in the box, she repeated the same actions as before, covering and sealing the box before placing it in the line.
Now focused on the final box, the biggest of them all, she poured the remainders of the gift bag into it; a life time supply of Han's favourite crisps. Once the box was full to the top, she sealed it and then proceeded to wrap all of the boxes individually in some cute wrapping paper that had baby kittens and tiny booties patterned over it.
After she had set everything up in the right place, she anxiously waited in the hall for Han to walk through the door. Preparing everything had taken longer than she had expected and now there was only minutes until he was due to arrive. Pacing back and forth her mind raced with intruding thoughts:
What if he didn't want this?
What if those things he'd said were only because they weren't sure that they would survive the mission?
What if he got angry or left?
Shaking those thoughts out of her head, she jumped back a little as the door handle moved and the door swung open allowing Han, with a small duffle bag, to walk inside.
Surprised that she was waiting in the hall for him, he placed his bag down on the floor and closed the door before opening his arms.
"Miss me?" He asked teasingly with a smirk.
She didn't hesitate to walk over and throw her arms around him in a tight embrace.
"Very much." She confirmed, hugging him tighter.
Releasing him from her hold, she stepped back and made a gesture with her hand, signaling for him to follow her into the lounge. Without a question he did exactly that. Though when he saw what was in the middle of the floor, he looked at her with a perplexed expression.
"What is all this?" He asked, his eyes wandering the sight in front of him.
"I missed you, so I prepared a little surprise." She informed him.
Han felt his heart warm just a little at this revelation. All these years, he'd never had any family or friends to come home to from his travels and so no one had ever gone through the trouble of preparing a welcome home surprise for him. For the first time in his whole life, he was beginning to feel loved, and wanted, and appreciated.
"You didn't have to do this babe." He said with a smile.
"Well... I wanted to, and you never know what you might find in there." She hinted.
"Then I guess I'd better find out." He quipped.
As he sat down in the place where she had sat before, she sat opposite and pushed the largest box forward to hint to him that it was the one he should open first. Giving her a smile, he took the box and tore off the wrapping paper before using his key to break the seal the tape had made. Opening up the box, his eyes went wide as he took in the sight of a whole stash of his favourite crisps.
"Oh my God... Did you really give me a lifetime supply of these?... You know these will be gone within a week right?" He teased, feeling extremely lucky.
"I had an inkling." She teased.
"This one next?" He asked, pointing to the box that was next in line.
After receiving a nod from her to confirm it, he brought the box forward and tore off the wrapping paper, once again using his key to break the seal. Lifting the flaps, his eyes lit up as he saw what was inside.
"Awe, no way! I miss this car so much." He admitted as he set it aside and picked up the next item inside. "Did you make this?" He questioned, taking in the cover of the CD.
"Yes, I found some remixes of your favourite song and I burned them all onto the disc for you." She confirmed.
His smile widened as he set the CD aside and moved on to the next item in the box. He stared at the photo that he'd just picked up with fond memories flooding his mind; memories of Dom, Brian, Letty, Roman, Tej and the rest of the crew. There was no doubt that those were ones that he would treasure for the rest of his life.
"That was quite a day... You know, I never truly thought that I'd be lucky enough to be part of a crew with a bond so tight." He commented.
"Well that crew loves you... And so do I." She responded.
"I love you too." He smiled.
Taking the third box as Gisele handed it to him, he repeated the same procedure of tearing the paper and cutting through the seal. Pulling out the first item that his hand touched; The locket. Holding his hands, he ran his thumb over it before opening it up. He was surprised to see that the original picture had been replaced by one that he'd almost forgotten existed.
"What is this? You trying to tell me that you want a family or something?" He joked.
"No, keep looking." She encouraged him.
Setting the locket aside, he reached in and picked up the next item in the box; the dummy. This time he frowned, and for a split second Gisele's heart leapt into her throat. Although confused, Han placed it next to the locket and moved on to the next item; the blanket.
"Hmm... Is this some kind of kinky fetish?... You're not gonna make me dress up as a baby are you?" He asked suspiciously.
"Not at all, daddy." She replied.
"What was that?" He asked, not hearing the last word.
"Nothing. Nothing at all. Want to move on to the next box?" She suggested.
With that being said, he lifted the fourth box and brought it to his lap, once again unwrapping it and breaking the seal. Dipping his hand in, he brought out the hidden item; the coffee mug.
"A mug?" He questioned.
"Read it." She told him.
"I heart daddy?... Are you sure you don't have a fetish?" He asked, more confused than ever.
"Yes Han, I am sure." She quipped.
He chuckled as he moved on to the fifth and final box. Tearing off the wrapping paper and cutting the final seal, he reached in, only to be confused. There was nothing in the box but confetti.
"Gisele?" He questioned. "What... There's nothing in here." He stated.
"Look harder." She told him.
Following her instructions, he used both hands to part the confetti. It was then that he found what was hidden inside. Picking up the stick, he brought it up to his face for closer inspection and got a good look at what it actually was. Then he saw the little pink plus sign.
As the realisation hit him, he lowered the stick and looked up at Gisele. She bit her lip, looked down at her hands and then back at him, anxious for him to speak. Out of the blue, a huge grin spread across his face and he stood up.
"Is this a prank?" He asked, concerned.
"Nope. This is real." She confirmed.
Without another word, he sprung across the room and lifted her in his arms, doing a full three-sixty turn before placing her back on her feet. It was something that they had talked about in the past but he never actually thought that it would happen. But the fact that it had, made him joyous. He'd always wanted a family to call his own and now, with the woman of his dreams, he finally had everything that he wanted.
"I... I don't know what to say... I never even..." He began, breaking off as he couldn't quite form his words.
"Are you happy?" She asked, her eyes glistening with hope.
"Happy?... I am beyond happy, I... Don't have words." He stated, his voice wobbling as his emotions hit him.
"You're gonna make a great father." She told him, holding his face in her hands.
Han couldn't help the tear that escaped his eyes as he became excited by the news and it hit him pretty hard; He was going to have a family. Something he'd never even known up until he'd met Dom.
It was a completely foreign feeling to him, but he felt blessed.
