Prologue - End of the Hunt
The streets of Orario were completely dark, except for the few illuminations they had in some corners. The night silence was fully evident and the moon's glow was beautiful as always, however, today the moon seemed to be more beautiful than usual. It was as if there was something mysterious about that night.
At this time of night the Adventurers' Guild was already closed and they had no adventurers walking the streets, unlike in the morning and afternoon where they are in great abundance. This kind of night is the perfect and favorite time for some specific people who like silence and to look at the night sky.
Against such a backdrop, the sound of footsteps through the streets is heard. The person responsible for these footsteps was a large woman with brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a work uniform consisting of: a blue dress above the knee with long puffed sleeves and a white collar, an apron and white sash, a small orange bow on the collar, black leggings, and to finish off, brown shorts and boots.
This is Mia Grand. Mia is the owner of the Hostess of Fertility, a pub that serves food and drinks to adventurers looking to take some stress off after an adventure inside the dungeon.
She has just returned from a conversation with a certain someone about a certain subject. Today was a strange day. The dungeon was acting in a very mysterious way, so much so that Ouranos himself made the Guild warn novice adventurers about the anomaly, being quite clear that they were to take extreme care if they entered the dungeon. The recommendation was that novice adventurers should not go into the dungeon today, but of course not everyone would listen to this recommendation.
Because of not heeding the warning, some adventurers died to evolved species that were found on the second floors. An evolved species is something very rare, and on the first floors they are even rarer, after all, for a monster to evolve into an evolved species, it has to eat the magic stone of other monsters. And this is very difficult on the initial floors, because the number of adventurers is greater. Rarely will a monster from the upper floors be able to survive one more day inside the dungeon.
And this is exactly why everything was strange. How did the dungeon generate evolved species in large numbers for only one day? This was a great mystery to all people, including the gods and goddesses. A meeting among the gods will take place soon to discuss this.
"...A real problem."
Mia was walking back to pub that should be closing by now. Just a quiet walk.
However...
"!"
She was completely alarmed, freezing in place. A sense of dread overtook her as she felt a great murderous intent that vanished seconds later. Being the former captain of the Freya Familia that reached level 6, considered the strongest Familia in Orario currently, there really isn't much that could leave her in such an alarmed or frightened state.
Such a feeling... she hadn't felt something like that since the Dark Period or the Seven Deadly Days when those two monsters attacked along with Evilus. No. This was clearly different from those days.
It was worse.
orcing herself to turn back, more specifically where the intense sensation originated, she quickly noticed the glowing red eyes in the dark along with the illumination. The eyes were getting closer and she prepared herself for a possible fight that she knew would be difficult, if that intention really meant anything. Even though it was getting closer, she couldn't hear the footsteps, which surprised her, after all a level 6's hearing is really keen.
As the creature got closer, she became more and more anxious.
However...
"...?"
As soon as it approached her, closer to the light, she came face to face with a boy who looked no older than 15, with a totally surly appearance. He had white hair and wore rather strange brown clothes, along with a cape and a hat with spikes on the sides. In his arms was a girl who looked almost as bad as him, she appeared to be unconscious.
The boy's sharp gaze seemed to go a little soft, but he still seemed to be in a state of alert.
Looking better in the direction, she realized.
'They came from the dungeon?' That explained their condition a little, but not that much.
The boy began to approach, causing her to straighten up. Again, she couldn't hear his footsteps, which was totally strange. He didn't even seem to be able to walk properly, he was almost staggering, but he still moved in a way that didn't seem to leave many gaps.
They clearly needed urgent help, but she couldn't hide that feeling from before. Had this boy really been responsible for that?
"A..."
The boy began to speak, his voice barely coming out. As soon as he stopped a little close to her, he gathered his remaining strength.
"Help... her... please."
Mia clearly heard his tone. It sounded totally broken, along with some relief? Looking at him barely able to stand, she moved forward calmly, still on alert with him, after all those two blades in his holster seemed to emit a strange kind of aura. It was disturbing.
As soon as she caught the unconscious girl in her arms, she froze momentarily. Her arms began to tremble as her eyes widened like never before.
"Impossible..."
Was the only thing she could utter as she looked at the unconscious girl. It was simply impossible, there was no way. Red hair and green eyes... Even if she was wearing clothes similar to the white haired boy, Mia wouldn't mistake her for someone similar, after all she knew that unconscious girl well enough.
And it is exactly for this same reason that it is impossible that she was there in her arms.
After all, she should be dead.
Mia's memories of that same girl, going to her pub with her Familia, eating, drinking and smiling flooded her like a great tsunami.
"Alise..."
She was indeed Alise Lovell, captain of the Astrea Familia. And she was supposed to be dead, for she died seven years ago. Or at least, that's what Ryuu told her when she took her in. And Ryuu's words were quite convincing.
"Kid," she quickly turned to the boy, only to see him unconscious on the floor.
Walking quickly over to the boy while still holding Alise in her arms, she looked at the boy's condition more closely. He looked much worse than Alise, but still managed to crawl away with her in his arms? It was very curious and strange.
And the fact that this all happened on the same day that the dungeon is acting strange... it didn't seem to be a coincidence.
She noticed another strange thing. Although Alise had several bruises all over her body, along with blood, her breathing was not that unsteady. And looking at the boy's body... she had a great confusion. He too seemed to be bleeding quite a bit, but unlike the red liquid on Alise's body, his body had what appeared to be blood... gray/white?
This was totally strange. Looking closely, she couldn't help but wonder. His blood...
Pale.
Pale Blood.
His blood, or whatever that is, seemed to be pale. His Breath seemed very tired, in danger of stopping.
Mia quickly settled Alise on one of her shoulders before taking Bell with her other hand and putting him on her other shoulder.
Too many mysteries and no answers.
"Whatever, we can ask later."
The Fertility Host wasn't that far from her location at the moment. She could apply first aid there with some high quality potions as healing magic. The medicinal stores of the Dian Cecht and Miach Familia were closed. Her goddess was not in Orario at the moment, but if the situation got worse, she would use all possible resources.
As she ran, taking care of the two people on her shoulders, she couldn't help but look at Alise several times. She also looked at the mysterious white-haired boy. She hoped to get some answers when they woke up, otherwise she would go completely insane.
"Ah, Ryuu is going to completely freak out."
That was a sure fact.
Anyone would freak out if they saw someone they thought was dead very much alive.
Mia was sure of one thing. That night had changed everything.
She simply couldn't imagine how much it would change.
The moon gave off a mysterious glow that went unnoticed by any people who might have been out at the time.
They might think that they had finally escaped from that terrible nightmare.
However, it was only momentary.
The hunt was not over.
Far from it.
It was only the beginning of hell.
Since it is the prologue, it is a very short chapter. The next ones will be longer.
If you are in doubt, Bell was in Orario for some time, this will be revealed in the next chapters.
I was a bit discouraged about writing my other stories, lacking inspiration, so I did what came to my mind.
As you can see, Bell is back from the Hunter's Dream, and why is Alise with him? What theories do you have? Let me know :)
The idea of this story is to reveal a little about the past in future chapters by showing flashbacks at certain times. I think this way is much cooler and gives an air of mystery to the work. Let me know your opinion about this, if you agree or disagree.
Also give me your opinions regarding the idea of this story. As you can see, Alise is now alive, and Lady Maria may appear in the next chapters. Your comments at this beginning are important to know whether you want me to continue or not. The actual chapters should be around 4/10k words.
Although this is a Crossover of Danmachi with Bloodborne, I will probably bring in some monsters from Dark Souls or maybe from League Of Legends like Old Ones, to give some defiance to the Good Hunter.
Anyway, that's it. Let me know if you like the idea and want me to continue.
