In the autonomous region of Yan, In the slums of Lungmen, there were trash everywhere and many squatters. The place is where the poor, sick, old, orphans, and Infected are living in. The slums isn't a good place to live as many unsavory types are common around the area, gang members, mafia, corrupt cops, prostitution and sex-oriented businesses.
It was dark, craggy, and wasn't a good place for kids. One particular kid for an example is a young boy with dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, and has whisker marks. Many would confused him as a Vulpo due to his whisker marks, but the downside is that he lacks the traits of foxes like ears and tails, as such he was considered an outcast from his own race.
His name is Naruto Namikaze, he's an orphan living alone in the slums of Lungmen. He grew up without parents as he doesn't know what happened to them, maybe they thought he was a mistake and drop him here, they did tried to kill him but couldn't do it? Or did they died and someone dropped him off at the orphanage. So many things of possibility went into his head.
The only thing his parents left for him is his name, that's all he got from them. It's all he ever wanted...
He was in the dark alleyway hugging his knees as he watched the older men talking to working girls with weird dresses, then they went inside the establishment for a few hours before coming out all with a happy grin on their faces. Naruto wonders what it'll be like to enter that place, the spinning red lights and the girls there, he thought about going over there but he chickened out the last minute and knew it wasn't for him.
He sighs and knew it was time to head back to the orphanage, the matron would always worried for him going out on his own again. He kept telling her he was already five years old, but she said it doesn't matter since he was still just a kid, and then she gives him a strong hug that put him into sleep. It was... nice, his caretaker was perhaps one of the few people in the world that doesn't consider him a freak.
The other kids stayed away from him for some reason, he didn't know why and thought there was something wrong with him. He asked his caretaker why he other kids avoids him, and she told him that he was different from everyone else, he doesn't know if that makes him feel better or not.
He sighs as he finally made it back to the orphanage, he quietly heads to where his room is and open the window, as he steps inside his room he saw a familiar face sitting on his bed.
"Went outside again didn't you?" A feline young woman wearing a nun outfit said to him, she was dressed in a typical black nun outfit, she has dark brown hair, red eyes, and around her necklace was a crystal blue gem necklace.
"Yeah, I was bored in here so I thought I head outside and stuff." Naruto replied to his caretaker.
She sighs before standing up and walks over to the boy, "I told you not to go outside, Naruto, I don't know what would I do without you get caught again."
Naruto was caught outside by one of the matrons that used to work at the orphanage, let's just say things went poorly and the woman was fired as a result. Naruto was scarred and was afraid of older women for awhile, it took him a year for him to get adjusted to the company of older women again. But the damaged was already done and even though Naruto was in someway cured, the pain, the beatings, and agony will never go away.
"Ms. Mitsumi, You know how I am and I hate being coop up in here all day, I hate how everywhere I go, I see other kids with their parents." Naruto trails off his sentence as he looks down onto his dirty feet.
Mitsumi stares at Naruto and has grown attached to him. When Naruto was sent here she thought he would be thrill to find a new family and get education for his future. But alas it didn't happened as each years gone by with family members taking the others, leaving Naruto behind with her, it just wasn't fair for him being ignore by the others. As she once asked one of the visiting family about their opinion on Naruto, what she got in return horrifies her to this day.
They said that Naruto is nothing more than a demon in Vulpo skin, and that he should be put down until it gets worst. She thanked them and signed the signature on another child they wished to adopt, as Naruto watched at the corner envious and jealous at the other kids going to their new home with new parents. Naruto deserves better than this, the treatment he was getting from the fellow children wasn't good either.
The children avoids Naruto like a plague as she once asked them if they would like to play with Naruto, but they refused and think Naruto a monster and would eat them in their sleep. It horrifies her to think even the children thinks Naruto is something he isn't, Naruto isn't to blame of his heritage and whoever implanted false rumors about him will hear gods wrath smitten down upon them.
"Naruto, Look at me please." Mitsumi gets down in one knee as she slowly cups Naruto's chin to her direction, "I know how sad you are to see other kids being happy with their families, and how it wasn't fair for you not getting adopted like the rest of them, but I know someday and you will get adopted and prove to your new family you aren't who they think you are."
"How could you be so sure?" Naruto's eyes starting to form tears as they slowly falls down onto his cheeks, Mitsumi couldn't help but give her child a strong hug.
"I don't Naruto, I can't tell the future or what it holds for you, but I do know you are destined more than this." Mitsumi hears the soft cries of Naruto, her heart tighten and it saddens her to see her child like this.
"Remember Naruto, always cherish what you believe in and hope for the bright future." Mitsumi felt the boy's arms went limp, as meaning he feel asleep, she slowly grabs the boy's legs and slowly maneuver herself to his bed. She calmly lays Naruto in his bed as she look at the boy's face, beneath the dirty, muddy, and dried tears is a handsome boy who's eyes is brighter than the skies itself.
"Sweet dreams, Naruto." Mitsumi kiss Naruto on the cheek before slowly walking out of his room, she opens the door and steps out, she flips the lights in the room off and was close the door.
"Because I can no longer shield you from your true destiny, Naruto, You were brought here by god herself. She chooses you to protect this world and her people, I still don't know why you of all people are chosen by god, you're still just a boy." Mitsumi's appearance has turned from Feline to that of a Sankta, a white wings was popped behind her back.
"But I won't judge God or her decisions, It is time to know wither you are the Child of Prophecy, Jiraiya..." Mitsumi turns to see a tall and well-built man with fair skin, He had waist-length, spiky white hair into a pony tail, with two shoulder-length bangs framing his face. There were red lines under his eyes which extended further down his face.
His name is Jiraiya, a legendary sannin who fought in a battle in Higashi.
"Ms. Mitsumi, you sure you don't want me to include you in my next book." Jiraiya was a bit jealous to see his godson seeing this hunk of a woman everyday, he might just include her in his book regardless she wants to or not.
"Mr. Jiraiya, I'll tolerate your perverseness because I respect you, but I will not and won't allow you to corrupt Naruto into becoming like you." Mitsumi has to lower her voice since Naruto's room isn't soundproof.
"Don't worry I won't, but it isn't up to me wither or not he'll gain interests in women or two, once he's with me and under my training, he'll become the best ninja that has ever trained under the legendary sannin!" Jiraiya was getting pretty full of himself and prided that he gain a reputation as a legendary sannin.
Mitsumi rolled her eyes but chuckles a bit, it seems Jiraiya is still the same as ever.
"Oh and if I read one of your snuff books that ever mentions about me, I'll track you down and going to crush the lower half of yours." Her face darkens as she was giving Jiraiya a weird happy smile on her face.
Jiraiya holds onto his balls for dear life before he instantly teleports inside Naruto's room, took the gaki out of bed and the two set off.
Mitsumi's face returns to normal as she holds her hands tightly and preyed, prey for Naruto's safety and bring hope to this world.
"Our lives are in your hands, Naruto, Whatever paths you choose know that I'll always be support it." Mitsumi's eyes now forming tears as it drops onto her face, she's going to miss Naruto around the orphanage, and hopes Jiraiya will do whatever he can to be ready for his destiny.
The Wandering Ninja
In the year of 1077
"Sheesh, kid, you're still trying to learn that jutsu?" Jiraiya was sitting atop of a tree looking down on Naruto's progress, he will admit that the boy's a hard worker and once he sets his sights on something he'll do whatever it takes to do it.
"Shut up! I know I can do this, I just need to figure out how." Naruto gasp as he fails to do this one jutsu, as he again fail his first step to pop the water balloon in his hand.
When Jiraiya first started to teach him in the arts of being a ninja, at first Naruto was excited and couldn't wait to do cool ninja stuff, but it turns out it was hard work so he said screw it and went with the flow. Jiraiya apparently also knew both his parents and they were good who died protecting him, it made Naruto glad that his parents didn't abandoned him but he asked Jiraiya who killed them, but he kept silent and told Naruto to continue to focus his chakra.
That's right, chakra is different from Arts. As Arts abilities to manipulate and transform matters and energy can only be provided by Originium. Arts comes in various forms, including but not limited to damage projectiles, destructive effects, manipulation of substances, wound healing and physical augmentation. However to Arts it requires Arts Units which are objects or devices containing Originium. Arts Units can vary massively in shape, size and particularly in functions.
Chakra on the other hand is a substance native to lifeforms on some planets. Inner spiritual and physical energies as ways to amplify and weaponise it, creating what is now known as Ninjutsu. Chakra can be controlled and manipulated to create an effect that would not be possible otherwise, such as walking on water, exhaling fire, or creating illusions. As only few handful of people can use Chakra.
Jiraiya explains that he was from The Far East otherwise known as Higashi. It's the place where Naruto originally came from, but was raised outside of its traditions and customs. Naruto asked Jiraiya if he could take him there someday, he said he would but he has his own reasons to leave Higashi for the moment, training him of course. As such few ninja clans in Higashi was trained in the shadow of stealth, and Jiraiya is training him to become one, though Naruto really wasn't thrill on being a ninja but it also means he gains experience and learn to defend himself from harm.
"The Rasengan isn't an easy jutsu to learn, hell it took your father three years creating the Rasengan in the first place." Jiraiya commented as he casually raise his right hand and formed the Rasengan.
Jiraiya has been all over the world ins and outs, he goes places no one dares to go except him, but his reputation being a legendary sannin is his memorable feat. Honestly, Naruto thinks Jiraiya is a massive pervert, he caught him one time peaking through a wooden hole where it was the women's turn, he called him out on this act and Jiraiya tries to defend himself and his "Research" as he put it.
Long story short Jiraiya was running from angry women that tries to remove his manhood. Naruto was busy trying to learn new jutsus and such, until Jiraiya finally comes back and trains him, too roughly since he was still sour on the whole incident, but hey karma.
"My dad creating the Rasengan?" Naruto stops his training and look at Jiraiya.
"Sure did, your father was a prodigy a birth, I love him as my own son. I was really saddened when he passed away so young, but anyway." Jiraiya renascence his life with Minato, how he watched the young boy grew up from a brat to a young man.
"The important lesson here is that the Rasengan is a powerful jutsu that doesn't require hand seals. The Rasengan requires extremely refined chakra control, something that very few ninja naturally possess. For this reason, the Rasengan is difficult to master. You're still on the first stage and we won't go over that until you learn it first." Jiraiya pointed out that Naruto is still on the first stage.
Jiraiya knows the true meaning about the Rasengan as he was second person besides Minato to learn it. As learning the Rasengan falls into three steps;
Rotation - the user learns to spin their chakra in multiple directions at once. To help in this regard, users may be given a water balloon so that they can mark their progress by the churning water; this step is complete once the users is able to burst the balloon with their chakra. It is important for the user to know which direction their body naturally spins its chakra for this step.
Power - the user must increase the volume and density of chakra they output. To help in this regard, users may be given a rubber ball: there is no water inside to help them burst the exterior and the rubber shell is thicker than a balloon's.
Containment - the user must combine the first two steps into a contained sphere. To help in this regard, users may be given a balloon to help them visualise the intended shape; if the balloon is popped or otherwise moves, mastery is not yet achieved.
Naruto is struggling with the first step due to his large chakra reserves, it isn't surprising since Naruto has Uzumaki genes running in his vain, so he isn't going to be running out anytime soon. He has stamina, but lacks mobility and speed.
Jiraiya sighs before hopping down on the grass, "How about this, let's stop with the Rasengan for now and learn something else, it isn't the end of the world for you, you come back to this anytime."
Naruto relented before finally agreeing with Jiraiya. The Rasengan is just too complicated and he needs a break from it.
"How about we learn the alternative of the Rasengan, it won't be like the real thing but it'll be good to have an ace in your sleeve." Jiraiya said to him.
"What am I going to learn now?" Naruto looked up at Jiraiya.
"Alright. Naruto, tell me what you know about the Chidori. Jiraiya said, Naruto tilted his head, wandering what that got to do with it.
"Uh... I guess it is an assassination jutsu that, using lightning chakra, can impale opponents with one shot." Naruto said. Jiraiya was mildly surprised no doubt from Minato's genes finally kicked in the brat's head.
"Well Naruto, you're only half right. The Chidori is not a raiton jutsu. It is a ninpo." Jiraiya explains to Naruto.
"What, but why does that sounds like it is lightning based?" Naruto asked.
"That's because Naruto, even though the Chidori is a ninpo, it can be used to all elements. Lightning is just the easiest to master. That's the beauty of the Chidori Naruto, it is powerful on its own, but it has so much potential." It took Jiraiya years to learn this technique and he has ups and downs since lightning isn't his affinity.
"Um, Pervy Sage? Why are you telling me this? Don't get me wrong I'm thankful, but why tell me this anyway?" Naruto asked.
"I'll ignore that nickname for now, Because Naruto, the technique I'm going to teach you is the Chidori." Jiraiya liking the face his student was making.
"REALLY! Can I learn how to do that right now!" Naruto was flabbergasted and clearly was more interested in learning the Chidori instead of the Rasengan.
"Settle down there sport, This technique does has its ups and downs, Tell me Naruto, Have you ever noticed that things seems to slow down?" Naruto stopped and thought for a moment. Then he nodded.
"Yeah... it was like everything was in slow motion... but what does that has to do with everything?" Naruto asked.
"Because using the Chidori creates tunnel vision effect, it's the high-speed maneuver that causes the effect. Basically, you have to run a straight line extremely fast and thrust. In that regard it creates tunnel vision at the moment you're attacking due to the speed, and opens you up for counter attack. Blinding speed means that the user is unable to discern any and everything in their surroundings except for the point of focus." Jiraiya explains to his student.
"I've seen your progress Naruto, and while you still suck at taijutsu, genjutsu, and kenjutsu, you're at least learning. You have a sharp eye on certain things, and once you put your mindset on certain things, you'll do whatever it takes to complete it. As I said the Chidori causes tunnel vision... but I think you can somehow overcome those obstacles and thus increase your senses." Jiraiya said.
"So... when can we start." Naruto looks up at Jiraiya with burning passion in his eyes, Jiraiya smiles and remembers Minato looking at him with the same expression on his face.
"Right now, kid." Jiraiya bluntly stated.
Naruto was giddy as Jiraiya finished the basics on how to use the original Chidori. Jiraiya ended with a warning.
"Naruto. Chidori is much more powerful without an element, but is much more draining. So when you can hold an original for 10 seconds, tell me and we'll begin adding an element." Jiraiya said and walked away.
"Hey! Where are you going!?" Naruto shouted to Jiraiya. Pervy Save just waved a hand behind him, signaling he'll be back. Naruto sighed and went back to training.
A black and white Chidori began to form, but quickly faded. Naruto frowned.
"Let's see here... Let's try giving it a constant flow of Chakra." Naruto said and tried. It lasted for 3 seconds before it faded. "What! that should have worked! Man... Let's think." He pictured what the Chidori with an element looked like. It was blue with cackling lightning chakra around it.
Naruto's eyes widened. Crackling lightning chakra! "That's it!" Naruto shouted. Naruto made the hand signs and began to make a Chidori, except this time, he gave it not a constant flow of chakra, but released small bursts of charka too. A Chidori began to form, but this time, it stayed. Naruto counted 16 seconds before he ran out of energy and it died down.
Jiraiya was walking back and caught the last end of the boy's progress, that was impossible and there was no way Naruto managed to make the Chidori that quickly. Even it took Minato a week to get it down...
"Pervy Sage! I did it!" Naruto shouted as he finally did the Chidori!
"I caught of the end of it, but show me how you did it." Jiraiya said, 'I need to see this myself...'
Naruto did the Chidori one more time, except this time it lasted 18 seconds. Jiraiya gasps and couldn't believe this brat got it down.
"I must say I'm impressed with your short progress Naruto, not even your father could done it that quick since it took him a week to get it down." Naruto's eyes went widened before he cheer again, he beat his dad due to his short progress than him.
"Naruto. Do you wish to begin your elemental Chidori?" Jiraiya asked. Naruto was in front of him in a second. "Yes!" Jiraiya chuckled and gave Naruto a slip of paper. Naruto looked at the paper confused.
"That's chakra paper, Channel your chakra into it to determine which element you are. If it burns its fire, if it moistens its water, if it turns into dust its earth, if it crumbles its lightning, and if it cuts its wind. Try it." Jiraiya explained. Naruto channeled some chakra into his paper.
It cuts in half, and then one side of the paper crumbled up, while the other side got set of fire, and the other side moisten quickly from water. Jiraiya watched on with interest.
"Very interesting brat... You have an affinity of Wind, Water, Fire, and Lightning. Very surprising." Jiraiya said. Naruto begins to cheer again. Jiraiya calmed him down. "Naruto. We only have time to master one, maybe two elemental Chidori's. Which element you wish to begin with?" Jiraiya asked him. Naruto sat down and started to think to his head.
'Hmm... Fire seems cool but I don't want to set this whole forest on fire, Water might make everything wet and muddy, Wind I might save for later... so the only logical one is Lightning right?' Naruto ponders his thoughts as Lightning seems to be the logical choice for now.
"Lightning. It would be better to know how the only one mastered is done so I get a feel for using elemental chakra with it." Naruto said. Jiraiya nodded in agreement, "Alright then, let's begin." And with that, they walked over to the tallest tree in the forest.
"Now kid, while the original is more powerful and draining, the elemental is better with strategic purposes and require better chakra control. I've seen your control. So I want you to make 100 Kage Bunshins and have 50 of them work on the tree walking exercise, and have the 50 come with my Kage Bunshin. You will stay with me and I will explain the exercise that will help with your Lightning chakra." Jiraiya didn't planned to teach Naruto about this soon, but it is necessary for Naruto's growth and potential.
"Pervy Sage? Why would having the Kage Bunshin do the work help?" Naruto asked. Jiraiya grinned. "Because kid, everything your Kage Bunshin learns will be transferred to you when they dispel." He said with a cocky expression on his face. Naruto's eyes widened and quickly did what his sensei wanted him to do.
A year passed since Naruto was taken in by Jiraiya, he was confused and thought Jiraiya was a kidnapper. But the old man quickly told him he was his godfather, as he was named after one of the characters in his books. His dad liked the character and when he was born he was named Naruto.
Jiraiya was sorry that he wasn't there for Naruto when he needed him, but he was busy for two reasons, one he didn't knew he existed until suddenly, and two he was around the world doing his spy network. He was confused on everything and decided just go with the flow for now. It was too much for the then five year old boy.
He was six years old now and Naruto quickly exceeded Jiraiya's expectations with his rapid growth, in Higashi most children born there were immediately turned child soldiers to help the war. Naruto was thankful that he was spared from the war, but felt ashamed that he didn't help his homeland against the invaders.
Jiraiya carried all sorts of jutsus and such, as he was a sealing master and a legendary sannin. The pair would travel the world soon, but for now Jiraiya needed to train the Naruto first. When he asked Naruto what would he like to be, he responded being a doctor since he wants to help people. Jiraiya luckily had some medical ninjutsu with him, but it was limited since he didn't study that type of ninjutsu enough.
'So the brat wants to become a Doctor of all things? Well, it is a nice goal at least, a far cry what a ninja should be but it's not a bad thing.' Jiraiya thinks to himself as he watch Naruto adding his lightning element into his Chidori.
'With the brat's progress I wouldn't be surprised he got this done in the first day, he's just like Minato was when he was a kid, and his wife Kushina... man that woman still sends shivers in my spine.' Jiraiya still remembers how that redheaded wife of his favorite student was like, a wild tiger that would hurt anyone insulting her hair.
'I also need to keep an eye out on the brat's seal, the Nine-Tailed Fox sealed within him. I only hope that someday Naruto would able to harness the fox's chakra.' Jiraiya is one of the very few people knows about the secret of Naruto, a S-ranked secret he'll bring to the grave, Naruto...
"Hey Pervy Sage! Look I did it!?" Naruto shouted as Jiraiya broke out of his thoughts and saw the brat's Chidori.
"Hmph... Not bad kid." Jiraiya gives his student a thumps up.
