Most people liked to spend their summers going on vacation, spending time with loved ones, partying, having a good time, or just in general doing anything fun. At the very least, most tended not to willingly participate in something they knew would lead them to pain, peril, and more likely than not, disappointment. But hey, the promise of a million bucks could sway people pretty hard. And that was the case for 22 individuals that found themselves on the same boat, propelling them to their at the time unknown destination somewhere in Ontario.

It was no top of the line yacht, but it was at least big enough to fit all of the people it needed. Plus two large steel crates that nobody really knew what the deal was with. As far as they knew, it would likely be trouble. After all, they were on their way to a new season of Total Drama. Who knew what shenanigans Chris McLean had up his sleeve this time?

Some of these soon to be contestants kept to themselves. In particular, was a certain annoyed looking intellectual. Scarlett was doing her best to avoid to gaze of the purple haired gnome known as Max. She made no promises on how badly she may hurt him if she had to listen to his babbling. But elsewhere on the boat was more social, with two longtime friends sharing a laugh near the front.

"Man, I wish they invited Cody and Harold back too, could you imagine if all four of us were here?" the skinnier one asked.

"Eh, we haven't been back since season 2. It was about time we got the spotlight again." His more muscular and well tanned companion whipped out a hand mirror to check on his appearance. Yup, still as beautiful as ever.

"Trent, Justin, long time no see!"

The two smiled at the blonde approaching them, Trent even adding a wave. "Bridgette! Good to see you. How've things been?"

The surfer girl shrugged. "About how you'd expect. Me and Geoff have been pretty busy since he won that Race show. Lot of time to go surf where we want, travel whenever. It's kinda given him that cocky edge back, but I think I'm keeping him in check."

"Yeah, we definitely don't want that jerk version of him from TDA coming back." Trent nodded in agreement. "But hey, we're here! Feels like it's been ages."

"Well time probably flies when you're famous pop stars touring the world," she teased. "I'm kinda surprised you guys were able to fit the show in to your schedule, all things considered."

"The band is on a bit of a break, so we figured there was no reason to turn it down." Justin had moved on to inspecting his teeth in the mirror. Had to make sure the pearly whites were at top shiny performance. "So you guys noticed anyone else we know on here, because I haven't been paying attention."

Trent and Bridgette exchanged a silent chuckle, perhaps thinking the same thing. Since when does he ever pay attention to anyone but himself anyway?

"I think I saw Noah and Eva chatting it up inside," Bridgette said, pointing a thumb behind her. "And the on-board infirmary was occupied when I passed it, I'd bet 20 bucks Tyler was inside."

"Katie and Sadie ran up to fan girl over me while you were in the bathroom," Trent added, shaking his head with an amused grin. "They really haven't changed a bit since season 1."

"Everyone else I saw was from one of the newer seasons," Bridgette finished. "There was a lot of them, though. It's a way bigger cast than the last few seasons. I think it's about the same size as the first one."

Speaking of the newer contestants, the camera panned over to one such girl with her chin rested in her hands as she stared out at the water with a pout. Dressed in a cheerleader outfit and with a timid air about her, she had just finished searching in vain to see if a certain tall Australian was also on the cast. No such luck, which meant she was currently on her own while listening to her meaner identical twin.

"Ugh, GAG me, I can't believe I had to come back with you, Sparemy."

"Amy that's like the 15th time you've complained about it," Sammy grumbled. "What's even the point in bringing it up again?"

"Because the camera is on us now, duh." Amy pointed out the camera in question. "Anyway, you just better hope we're not on the same team again or else-"

"Or else I'm going home first, blah blah blah, yeah I've heard it already." The nice twin sunk deeper into her arms. Before she could let out a groan, a familiar fairy tale dress wearing girl popped up between them with a bright smile.

"Friends! Long time no see! I hope you two are as overjoyed to experience Total Drama again as I am. In fact, I'm so happy that it makes me want to break out into song!" Both twins were unable to escape Ella's grasp as she began her lovely serenade. Nearby a large dude with an even larger afro beatboxed along to the song.

Next to him was an equally large boy, though this one was due to sheer height and muscle mass. He sighed dreamily as he watched the trio of girls. "They're such angels. You think I have a shot with them?"

He looked next to him to a boy clad in wizard attire. Leonard tapped his chin, deep in thought. "Hmmm, perhaps. I suppose if your charisma stat is high enough you should be able to woo the sirens. And even then, you can always compensate with a high enough dice roll!"

Watching all of this was a sharp dressed boy from their former cast, who could only roll his eyes at the weirdness on display. Last time Topher had to share a cast with heavy hitters like Jasmine, Shawn, and Sky. Looking at this bunch brought back? This might just be his game to win. That would certainly get the attention of the producers.

Meanwhile, on yet another section of the boat, things were much more quiet and peaceful for two contestants. One was silent by choice, a large intelligent guy watching over the water with a cool air to him. The other balanced herself sitting on the guard rail, deep in meditation. It was all quite calm... or at least it would be if it wasn't for the girl behind them chattering endlessly.

"And that's how my great-great-great-great-uncle Gregor invented the life preserver! Yah, before him there were a LOT more people that died from drowning, it was a whole epidemic."

Suddenly she was blasted in the face with a can of hair spray, courtesy of the fake tanned Jersey girl of the cast. "Will ya stick a sock in it, already, you're interrupting my sunbathing."

While Staci tried to not cough up a lung, a fifth member of their generation jogged up to the group, offering a small salute when they looked at them curiously. "I have news to report! I've done a full perimeter check of the boat and took a head count of everyone on board. It would appear our cast has a significant numbers disadvantage compared to the other two generations. An obstacle for sure, but one I'm confident we can overcome!"

"So no new blood this time, huh?" Anne Maria shrugged, going back to her hair spraying. "Meh, works for me. Ain't no number disad-whateva gonna stop me."

"Out of curiosity, how many people did you count?" Dawn suddenly asked, opening an eye from her meditation.

Brick blinked, counting a bit on his fingers. "Let's see, counting us then that would be... 22 people total."

"Strange, not counting the one steering the boat I sensed 24 people on board." The mystic looked over the boat curiously. "I suppose all will become clear soon enough."

Indeed it would. Soon enough the horn blared and alerted everyone on board. Those not outside quickly grouped together with the rest just in time to see them quickly approaching their destination. An all too familiar place for many of them, an ominous island full of jagged rocks, trees, and at the center of it all a giant skull shaped monument.

"Boney Island?" The ever bored Noah scooted to the front of the pack, looking unimpressed. "Guess they couldn't even be bothered to fish Wawanakwa out if they were just going to do an island again."

"They could have just used the mechanical island again, though," Topher pointed out. "Wonder why they didn't go for it."

"Simple," a voice suddenly boomed from behind them, startling many. Surprise turned to annoyance for them as they realized the speaker was Chris McLean. "It's all part of the season's theme."

While some contestants wanted to comment on the host's sudden apperance or make comments about having to see him again, others wanted to get to the point. Especially Eva, who eyed him curiously. "Which would be?"

"All of that in due time," he said ominously. "Before that, you guys should take a look around at this cast of your's. 24 campers going at it, that's the largest cast we've had yet!"

Emerging from the back of the pack and startling some with her presence, Scarlett rolled her eyes. "Your math is off, there's clearly only 22 people here other than yourself, which matches the amount of contestants from the original season."

"Perhaps he's merely hiding two more contestants," said a new voice suddenly. She was instantly met with a wave of annoyed anger upon seeing Max scoot up beside her. "And then he'll reveal them to us for dramatic effect!"

Scarlett seemed poised to berate the gnome boy for being ridiculous, but Chris cut her off. "Max has it right on the money! The other two are in those crates back there." Chris pointed a thumb behind him at the two steel crates. "Since we've brought attention to it, one of ya mind opening those up for me?"

"Why, you getting too old to do stuff yourself?" Topher asked mockingly, only for Chris to put his arm straight through him! Which was possible, since this revealed him to be a hologram.

"Kinda hard to do that when I'm not really there, Mini-Me."

Eva stepped up to volunteer for the unboxing, with Tyler and B also coming forward to help her. With the three working together they were able to get one crate open. An ominous smoke came from within, and the low monstrous growling started to get some people nervous. But when the smog cleared and the animal-like sounds ceased, all that appeared from the crate was... a thin blonde girl looking a little bit ticked off.

"Um, rude? Why was I locked up in that stupid thing the whole time?" she demanded from hologram Chris.

"It was for dramatic effect," he answered. "Which you ruined by not playing along with the whole monstrous ambiance we had going on. Thanks for that, Dakota."

She scoffed and took out a pocket mirror to make sure she still looked alright. "Yeah, well, too bad so sad. I'm not Dakotazoid anymore."

While this was going on, the other crate was also finally opened. Similar eerie sounds and smoke tried to build up a grand reveal, but once again it fell flat as a scruffy boy emerged from the fog with a coughing fit.

"Who's the knob that turned on the smoke? Stuff makes it hard to breathe, eh."

Noah's eyes went wide in surprise. "Zeke? Since when were you normal again? Well, relative to how you used to be."

Ezekiel stopped to look over just how many people were on the boat. It was more than he expected. A bit nervous, Dakota caught his eye and he pointed a thumb her way. "I don't know the whole story, but apparently her dad helped me out?"

"Being Dakotazoid started making things tough when I realized just how much stuff I couldn't do anymore when you're that big and covered in spines. So Daddy called up his lawyer friends and made Chris and the network pay for helping me get better. It made the case easier to show off another guy that got disfigured under the show's watch."

Tyler's jaw dropped. "I thought the contracts were foolproof. Bro, there's so many injuries I got on the show that I should have got some cash for!"

"They're foolproof against the people who can't afford to challenge a whole TV network in court," Dakota corrected. "But my daddy can afford anything, so Chris' little contract meant squat!"

The hologram just glared at the former mutant, especially when the explanation prompted some cheers and congratulations.

"Way to stick it to that asshole," Eva said with an approving nod. "I'm impressed."

"Bet it feels good to be back to normal, right, Zeke?" Bridgette asked as she turned to the formal feral wild child.

"Oh yeah. No words to describe it." He paused for an awkward moment, chuckling. "But now I guess I'm right back where that all started. Probably don't wanna let that happen again."

"Ahem. Now that the cast is fully acquainted, let's get this show back on the road." Chris' hologram waited for silence before continuing. "Now then, if you look around at your fellow cast members you may notice a theme. All veteran players, and yet we're lacking something, yeah? A certain star factor, if you will. Because any way you cut it, all of you can be considered some of the biggest losers in the history of the show!"

Immediately his harsh words were met with offense from the contestants, even usually more chill ones like Bridgette.

"Hey, I was on three different seasons, four if you count my cameo in Revenge of the Island," the surfer protested.

"And you performed barely decently in only one of those," Chris shot back. "Remind me, how did you do on your second season? How about the third?"

She didn't really have a reply, so she just stayed quiet less she risk someone mentioning that damn pole again.

"Well I've competed only once and would wager I made a significant impact," Scarlett said.

"I was a big deal in season two," Justin added, looking especially appalled at the concept of being called a loser.

"And then Courtney pulled the rug out from under your feet and you went out with a whimper." Chris turned to the evil genius. "And YOU got your butt kicked out after getting outsmarted by a ragtag group that included Sugar. SUGAR."

Max started pointing at laughing, unaware of the violent intent he was building his former sidekick. "Hah! She hog tied you with your own hair, no less! How embarrassing that must have been."

"So yeah, one way or another, all of you could be considered rejects of Total Drama. All of you have something left to prove. THAT is the season's theme. Welcome to TOTAL... DRAMA... REVENGE OF THE REJECTS!"

"Boney Island has changed a bit since you guys were last here," Chris explained sometime after everyone had gotten their bearings and bags put away. "Corporate says we had to keep you sleeping somewhere you don't have to be at risk of dying every night. So we divided the island into three sections. This is the Safe Zone, where you'll sleep, eat, and all that nonsense."

He motioned behind him at the mess hall, confessional outhouse, and cabins, all looking particularly shoddy and rundown even by Total Drama standards.

"Making up the bulk of the island, including the skull rock and all the natural wildlife, is the Wild Zone. Lot of crazy critters in it. But they don't compare to the final area, the Fun Zone! That's where you can meet all the lovable mutants from season four. Great place, huge with tourists."

Chef held up a picture of an all too familiar wooden Chris head. "The immunity idol is gonna be in play again this season, too. It's already been hidden somewhere in one of the three zones."

"Take a guess on which one it isn't in," Chris added, chuckling to himself. "Now then, before we get you kids settled in, we have to sort your teams. Now normally we WOULD try to do something clever to sort you guys, but since this is the cheap reject season... you get to draw straws!"

Chef marched over, 24 straws clutched in his hands. One by one each were sorted, those with short straws on an orange circle while the long straws got a purple circle.

"Presenting our teams! The Clumsy Camels." Chris motioned to the orange team, consisting of Justin, Trent, Katie, Sadie, Brick, B, Dawn, Topher, Ella, Amy, Rodney, and Dakota. Their logo was a camel in the middle of falling, a shocked expression on its face.

"And the Wimpy Walruses!" And then the purple team, this one containing Ezekiel, Staci, Beardo, Anne Maria, Leonard, Tyler, Eva, Bridgette, Scarlett, Max, Sammy, and Noah. Their logo showed a walrus failing to lift a tiny dumbbell, their face strained.

"You can't be serious," Eva grumbled. Her? Wimpy? That word shouldn't even be in the same sentence as her. The same PARAGRAPH even!

"Fitting names for the season's theme if I do say so myself," the host bragged. "Don't like it? Survive long enough to the merge and you don't have to worry about it anymore. But for now get used to the misfits that you're stuck with."

Reactions were diverse among the team members. Immediately Katie and Sadie embraced, squeeing over their good fortune. On a team together AND sharing it with hunks like Justin and Trent? They couldn't ask for anything better! Of course the bandmates themselves were happy to be paired up, though they didn't know what to make of all the Gen 2 and 3 dudes on their team. Equally happy to NOT be paired up were Sammy and Amy. Noah and Eva's normally stoic selves allowed themselves to smirk a bit being reunited. Ezekiel glanced at Bridgette, then Anne Maria, and tugged at his collar. He wouldn't say as much, obviously, but B was happy to be in familiar territory working with Dawn and Brick.

But of course not everyone was happy with the way the cards fell. Scarlett marched forward and glared at the host. "I demand a swap, you can't seriously expect me to be near that imbecile for an extended period of time."

She was pointing a finger at Max who scoffed at the protest. "Not to worry, you won't be around long enough to fully bask in my greatness anyway."

Chris rolled his eyes and walked off. "Yeah, nah, no team exchanges. The straws have spoken, this is what you dorks are stuck with! Now get settled in and eat up, we'll be doing a challenge soon!"

And do a challenge they did. Tasked with retrieving a flag from the top of the skull rock and bringing it back to camp a series of shenanigans unfolded throughout. Scarlett and Max continued to bicker, Leonard's attempts at a teleportation spell somehow didn't work, Tyler wound up needing to be saved from the brink of death multiple times by Eva. Add in Staci's family anecdotes, Beardo's unhelpful sound effects, plus a sassy argument breaking out between Anne Maria and Noah, and you had a disaster for the Wimpy Walruses that Bridgette couldn't salvage. Ezekiel attempted to communicate with his former Boney Island residents but they no longer recognized him.

Meanwhile the Clumsy Camels excelled. While the likes of Topher, Amy, Dakota, and the BFFFLs did little to help them, they were at least able to stay out of the way enough to follow the other's lead. Between Justin's mind controlling good looks, Dawn's animal whispering, and Ella's dulcet tones the group was damn near invincible to the local wildlife. The ladies were delighted at seeing each other's proficiency with animals while Justin just grinned, he already knew how good he was. Add in Rodney's strength and B's brains and the team made it back ages before the opposing team. In a callback to the original season, the Camels were given not a hot tub, but a warm mud pit to use for the rest of the season.

The Walruses were a mess. With such a ragtag assortment of personalities and stubbornness it was anyone's guess how the votes were going to fall. Noah and Eva left to scheme, Anne Maria left to blow off steam with some sunbathing, Leonard went to go consult the ancient tomes. Sammy and Bridgette eventually found each other and formed a bond over being left in the middle of such a dysfunctional group as the level headed ones. A friendship formed and agreement made to watch each other's backs. Speaking of such agreements...

"Yo, it alright if I sit here?"

Now we were at the Mess Hall where things were pretty divided on groups sitting together. Two people that had by pure chance decided to sit next to each other were Beardo and Staci, both looking up at Ezekiel's voice.

"Yah, go for it!" Staci smiled happily. "I can tell you about my great great great great Auntie Rebecca that invented the bench! She was the first one to ever ask what if multiple people want to sit down on the same thing together."

"Sounds interesting, but maybe later, eh?" Ezekiel glanced around and made sure no one else was too close to hear the trio. "But I've been really meaning to talk with you two."

Beardo raised an eyebrow and pointed at himself with a ding sound effect, making sure he heard that right. Ezekiel nodded.

"Word. Back when I was in the hospital recovering they'd show Total Drama reruns all the time. I don't remember everything too well but I do know you guys also got voted off first, right?"

Staci exchanged a look with Beardo and frowned. "Well, yah, but it's not really the best memory to look back on..."

Ezekiel chuckled hollowly. "Trust me, I know what you mean. That's why I'm here, actually. Considering how all three of us have to be known as the first boot losers, shouldn't we like, stick together and make sure we break that curse together?"

Both of them seemed intrigued. While he wasn't much for talking to people he had just met, Beardo had to quickly speak to make sure he was understanding this correctly. "S-so you mean like, an alliance?"

The former feral boy got an excited word. "Definitely, yo! Just think how crazy it would be if the three of us make it to the end this time." He held his fists out, one pointing at each of them. "Wanna give it a try?"

Staci and Beardo smiled and enthusiastically returned the fist bumps.

"I guess now we just gotta figure out who we vote for?" the compulsive liar asked.

Conveniently, two of their teammates had just entered the building looking for anyone else on the Walruses.

"There's a few of em," Eva grunted.

"They'd make it 5 votes," Noah pointed out. "And if we get Bridgette and Tyler on board..."

Both of them exchanged a nod and started their approach.

Later that night Chris called the Walruses in for elimination. A dingy low budget recreation of Camp Wawanakwa's bonfire area had been hastily set up, with seats somehow as uncomfortable as humanly possible.

"Campers! If you'd please look to my left you'll see this season's method of elimination." Chris motioned towards the water at the most breathtaking and epic sight imaginable was waiting. A pool floatie in the shape of a duck. "Behold! The Duckie of Shame!"

"Ooooh," Leonard cooed in awe. "Not as impressive as my pet griffon back home, but magnificent all the same."

"... none of you were supposed to be excited about it, but alright." Chris shrugged and continued on. "As you should know by now, all part of the theme! Nothing but the most low budget as possible for you chumps! And on that note, here's a fun twist on a familiar show staple!"

The host whipped out a bag of marshmallows and opened it up to let out a gross moldy smell. Usually soft and squishy, these treats looked hard, chewy, and sticky. Plus their ordinarily white coloring had hued to a gross shade of yellow. Anne Maria turned her nose up as the sight.

"Ew, you planning to feed us that crap?"

"It's optional if you guys wanna try it, I'm sure it'd make for some good footage," Chris taunted, laughing. "Because yes, these marshmallows are WAAAAY past their expiration date. Once again, nothing but the best for you guys! Still, it's better than receiving a ride on the Duckie. Now to find out which of you unlucky scrubs is gonna be the first one out and our biggest loser."

Chris read over the votes and chuckled to himself. Interesting, veeeeery interesting.

"You guys know the drill, if I call your name then you're safe! First I've got expired marshmallows for Bridgette... and Samey!"

"Sammy," the nice twin mumbled bitterly.

"I also gotta shout out some of my safe original competitors," he continued. "Noah, Tyler, and Eva! All of you live to fight another day."

None seemed particularly shocked, but at least the wannabe jock smiled brightly at catching the marshmallow. Until the gross thing stuck to his hand and he had to wipe it off.

"Looks like I can also give marshmallows to Anne Maria... and Leonard!"

Two teammates of drastically different personalities, but both safe. Each cheered at their safety and 4 marshmallows remained.

"Finally, and I can't believe I'm saying ALL of this, but... the next three marshmallows go to all of you one episode wonders! Congrats to Beardo, Staci... and Ezekiel. You guys officially don't suck AS hard as you did in your last attempts."

All three had massive cheers in celebration, though after a quick trio hug Ezekiel pointed a finger at Chris. "Actually since both seasons I did started with two-parter premiers I've technically competed in 4 episodes, eh."

"Nobody cares." Chris moved right along and held up the final expired marshmallow. "Which surprisingly narrows it down to two of our statistically better performing rejects. Former daters, or perhaps CURRENT ones, Max and Scarlett!"

Scarlett grit her teeth, using all the willpower she could muster to keep her composure. She just had to wait a few more minutes and the imbecile would be gone. Her team had surely seen to reason on how useless he was and aided her in elimination. Fuming as she may be, she's remain calm. Meanwhile, Max folded his arms and gave a hearty laugh.

"Haha! Ha I say! She WISHES I would give her the time of day. Unfortunately for her I'm far too out of her league so she couldn't even hope to earn my affection."

And that was all she could take. In a flash she grabbed Max by the collar and hoisted him up, eyes burning with rage and she tried to glare a hole through him. "LISTEN to me you pathetic waste of skin. YOU are the one beneath ME! Your incompetent idiocy is getting you eliminated, but I implore you, BEG you, PLEASE say one more thing towards me. Just one more! Because the moment you do so, I swear with ever fiber of my being, I will rip out your spine and floss my teeth with it. I'll gently CRUSH your skull beneath my heel. You'll be throttled into a fine red mush and I'll feed it to your dog. I'll make you rue the day you ever even THOUGHT to breath in my general vicinity. Just say the word Max, and I will END YOU!"

By the time her rant was over, most of the team had already put as much distance between themselves and Scarlett as possible. Staci looked horrified. Tyler about to pass out. Sammy disturbed. Even Eva felt on edge, ready to defend herself against this lunatic. All the while Chris just laughed, though even he was a bit unnerved.

"Love that energy, Scarlett, absolutely love it! But it ain't the best to keep yourself in your team's good graces. probably why you're getting eliminated." He tossed the final marshmallow at the wannabe supervillain. "Max is safe!"

She was so shell-shocked that she dropped Max to the floor, staring off in disbelief. "He's... WHAT?"

Chef acted quick, not about to let a rampage happen before it got really ugly. While she was still distracted he snuck up from behind and hog tied Scarlett, eventually fastening her into a straight jacket that was prepared specifically for the event of her elimination.

"It's a shame, I was really hoping to see you wreck some havoc this season without having to worry about you hijacking the island." Chris sighed. "Ah well, maybe don't be such a psycho next time!"

Adding insult to injury was Max waddling along next to Chef while she was carried over to the water. "MWAHAHAHAHAHA! And don't you forget who the true master of evil really is! Good riddance and happy trails you lesser me!"

"I WILL END YOUR-" Chef slapped some tape on to her mouth and tossed her unceremoniously on to the Duckie of Shame.

"Save it for someone who cares, crazy librarian chick." He then whipped out a tiny needle and carefully pricked the back of the duckie, suddenly releasing a crazy amount of air that propelled the floatie out into the water and far away from the island. Scarlett's muffled screams of rage soon became nothing more than dust in the wind.

With the murderous psychopath long gone, the rest of the Walruses were able to loosen up and breath sighs of relief. Despite still being on an island with feral animals and mutated abominations, suddenly their stay felt like it was now immensely more safe. Ezekiel, Staci, and Beardo exchanged another celebratory group hug, while Bridgette gave Sammy a reassuring pat on the back.

"And that's all she wrote for the first elimination," Chris announced. "The rest of you rejects get out of my sight."

With that the group left, hopeful that they wouldn't be returning to the bonfire after the next challenge. At least they'd be able to sleep more soundly tonight.

Episode 2 (technically 3 as the premier would be a two parter), opened soon after, the Clumsy Camels trying to enjoy their mud bath for the heck of it. They gave their thanks to the Wimpy Walruses upon seeing that they had rid the island of Scarlett. After a good night's sleep the stage was set to establish everyone's roles going forward:

On the Walruses, ridding himself of his former minion gave Max an undeserved confidence about his superiority and he'd remind everyone of his supreme evil at any chance. It could be annoying but many found him amusing and overall he was harmless. Without Scarlett's help to tweak his evil devices he was unable to cause any actual terror. Leonard filled a similar niche and the two were pretty much the only ones that took the other seriously in any manner with him even refering to Max as "The Dark One." Anne Maria was for now a loner on the team by choice. She hadn't forgot feral Ezekiel's infatuation with her, and ESPECIALLY didn't forget his crummy fake diamond tricking her into quitting. She'd be avoiding him if possible.

Speaking of which, Ezekiel, Staci, and Beardo all decided to keep their expired marshmallow as a keepsake and sign that this season would be different for all of them. The alliance was near instantly a friendship and surprisingly each other's company was good for each of them. Beardo was coming out of his shell and learning to be comfortable with talking. Staci found herself holding genuine conversations more often without having to fall back on the phony family stories. And as the defacto leader, Ezekiel was gaining a newfound confidence that made the return to Total Drama feel worth it. The trio would have each other's back through thick and thin.

Noah and Eva tried to pretend that they were their usual uncaring selves, but secretly relieved to have each other on the team. Noah helped mellow out some of her rage, while Eva happily grilled him for details about his life with Emma. Bridgette dramatically stood up for Sammy at breakfast the next morning when her sister tried to engage in bullying. And then there was Tyler, happy to be here but feeling a bit lost in the shuffle. He, Eva, and Brick eventually set up a workout group by chance.

Meanwhile with the Camels, Katie and Sadie quickly found a kindred soul in Dakota. Sharing much of the same interests, the three of them could chat for what felt like hours. Ella and Dawn bonded over their love for nature and desire for peace. For once Dawn was the one in awe of someone else's talents, taking great joy in the way Ella could list the spirits of animals. Seeing how badly he was striking out with the girls on their team, Trent decided to take Rodney under his wing to teach him the ins and outs of talking to girls and how to not make it weird.

B and Brick were both sort of doing their own things, the later was happy with his workout group and was hoping to fill a sort of leadership position for the team. B was perhaps the only person not fully stoked to see Scarlett gone, now it seemed there was no one on his intelligence level to test himself against. At least Dawn was around as a translator. Finally there was Justin. Incensed at Chris implying that he had been a lackluster villain, Justin pondered how he could redeem his status and maybe earn himself an appealing "bad boy" status in the public eye. Heather and Alejandro could do it, why not him? A promising prospect presented itself when Topher approached him. The wannabe host reasoned that as the two most attractive and sly on the team, they'd make natural partners. He also suggested they bring Amy into the fold, she was currently hated after her talking down to from Bridgette and the prime candidate for the team's first boot, but that would make her all the more eager to team up with likeminded individuals.

With that all established, the second challenge breezed by. An obstacle course in the fun zone. With Eva calling the shots, everyone on her team was eventually able to either finish or get brute force pushed through by her. The first boot trio alliance celebrated their first ever challenge win, while Max tried to claim all the credit for their victory. Eva quickly shut that down.

The villainous trio wasted no time. Amy was able to seduce Rodney's vote with ease, despite Trent's best attempts to appeal that she should go. Justin had caught Ella when she suffered a nasty fall in the challenge, and the hopeless romantic now wondered if she had met her Prince Charming. Finally Topher worked on appealing to Dakota, having used the choice his alliance settled on as an argument to her love of good ratings on what would be best for the show. She tried to pass this suggestion on to Katie and Sadie but they were more conflicted, with one agreeing and the other not so sure. Topher took note of this potential fracture.

Nonetheless, it was enough votes to seal someone's fate. As the ceremony rolled around, B was shell-shocked to be the one left without a marshmallow. Seems Topher had argued someone who won't talk wouldn't be good for their team's screentime, especially if he's the main brainpower for them. Not that B had to know that. The silent genius was sent away on the Duckie of Shame to the surprise of many.

Clumsy Camels: Justin, Trent, Katie, Sadie, Dawn, Brick, Dakota, Amy, Rodney, Ella, Topher

Wimpy Walruses: Ezekiel, Tyler, Noah, Eva, Bridgette, Staci, Anne Maria, Beardo, Leonard, Max, Sammy

Eliminated: Scarlett, B

Episode 3 saw the Camels now in a more divided state. Trent, Dawn, and Sadie would confront the likes of Justin, Ella, and Katie respectively for their vote choices but the model denied being part of it while the girls tried to explain their reasoning. Things ended amicably for all but the incident wasn't forgotten. Per her allies suggestion, Amy decided to lay low. She was no Heather, she didn't have the means to weasel her way out of the situations consciously if she kept being a jerk. Brick tried to rally the crew to stay united.

Meanwhile the Walruses continued to thrive. Ezekiel tried to make amends to Anne Maria over his hand in her quitting all those seasons ago, but her reception was icy and dismissive. Beardo picked up a vibe that maybe his new friend was looking for more than just making amends with that Jersey girl. Bridgette approached Eva about helping Sammy learn to be more assertive. Flustered but interested at the prospect, she agreed. Having a few friends into DND, Tyler attempted to connect with Leonard, but the wizard was too deep into character for an out of his element jock to understand anything.

Once again the more united team excelled at the challenge. Their task was to capture one of the ferocious wooly beavers and return it to camp. Despite Ella's best efforts to gradually lure one back with song, Eva's brute force strategy was much faster, especially after a failed gadget by Max wound up shocking the best unconscious. Chris noted for the cameras that any and all hate mail from animal rights activists could be directed at Max.

Like the previous episode the villains tried to employ the same strategy. Feeling like Dakota wouldn't be on board, Justin tried to convince both gal pals for their help. Once again one agreed but the other hesitated since she liked the target. She promised not to let anyone know of the plan, but it seemed a divide between her and Katie was growing deeper. Meanwhile, Topher tried to convince Dakota to vote against another bad ratings figure to avoid a tie.

While perhaps not as shocked as B, Brick was certainly hurt when told that he'd be the one taking the fall. Strong and determined, the villains couldn't risk him rallying enough people against the rest of them and thus he needed to go. An awkward air once again filled the vibe of the team.

Wimpy Walruses: Ezekiel, Tyler, Noah, Eva, Bridgette, Staci, Anne Maria, Beardo, Leonard, Max, Sammy

Episode 4 would show the villains feeling a bit of the heat. Dakota found something fishy when Rodney wasn't cut when Topher had so previously been confident that B would go in comparison. Why didn't his suggestion leave this time? Trent was also starting to suspect something weird, he had genuinely liked Brick and couldn't understand why he would be cut over an emotionally abusive bully like Amy. He worried that perhaps his bandmate was starting to slip into a dark place thanks to being on the show again. But no one was more upset than Dawn, distraught over losing B and Brick back to back. Losing two friends was bad enough, but sensing that Ella was involved made it even worse. But why did she care about that part so much...

Over with the Walruses, Staci confided in Ezekiel and Beardo over her lying problem with the two giving suggestions on how to work past it. Beardo could especially relate since he had a similar issue with his sound effects as a defense mechanism. With Brick gone, Tyler and Eva now worked out with just the two of them. It was awkward at first since Brick had been a good middle ground of his silliness and her gruffness, but eventually the two found themselves having a laugh and enjoying it. He offered to join in on the help make Sammy more assertive lessons. Despite their differences, Anne Maria and Bridgette also started to hit it off.

Despite the differences in unity, the Camels picked up a shock win at the challenge. It involved hunting the other team inside the fun zone and Dawn proved much too allusive to get out while Eva eventually fell last. While hiding together, Dawn realized she's developing feelings for Ella and vice versa. This would leave the later conflicted since she still considered Justin to be a potential Prince Charming in the making.

The ceremony was largely uneventful. Despite bringing some laughs to the table, Leonard still wasted too much time throughout challenges with his antics. Even Max still seemed to put forth more effort. He left without much fanfare.

Episode 5 builds on some of the dynamics already starting to crop up. Ella and Dawn continue to grow closer much to Justin's worry. Not that he's worried about losing Ella's romantic interest, but because it could mean losing her as a pawn for voting. Hoping to keep the aura reader off his tail, he lets Ella know he gives his blessings to the pairing if she chooses to pursue it. Delighted by the "kind act," she vows to still stay friends with him and intends to work together in the game. Trent's work is making Rodney more competent around the females bit by bit, and Amy's manipulations are starting to turn him away. Katie and Sadie awkwardly try to act like everything is fine, but Dakota can tell something isn't right between them. They refuse to acknowledge it when confronted. Topher ponders if they need to just cut their losses and let Amy take a fall so they can regroup.

Ezekiel approaches a cautious Bridgette for relationship advice, though she eases up when she realizes it's Anne Maria he's interested in. Now forming a solid bond with the Jersey girl, she offers what help to Zeke she can but warns that there's no guarantee that she'll like him back and that he should respect those wishes if it turns out to be the case. Sammy's training is going well and she practices by calling out one of Max's lies during one of his self praise sessions. Noah is sizing up Beardo or Staci as their next elimination target despite the progress they've made lately.

In an all too familiar concept, the teams are tasked to survive the night in the wild zone with whichever team having the most to not drop out winning. Ella, Dawn and surprisingly, Rodney all survive for the Camels. But the Walruses just edge them out with Eva, Tyler, Anne Maria, and Ezekiel all surviving the night. Almost like poetry, a large fight takes place between Katie and Sadie after the later vents her frustrations with her best friend going along with clearly underhanded plans. Katie says she should be allowed to make her own decisions and they storm off. Justin overhears and starts to scheme.

Topher brings up the idea of just letting Amy be sacrificed but Justin puts his plan into effect instead. After giving Katie a shoulder to cry on he then charms her into helping out with the plan. Sadie doesn't want to talk about the fight with anyone since the pain is still fresh, but upon Justin's guidance Katie starts planting lies about what happened. Not to everyone so it doesn't get out of hand, but to enough people.

Sadie bawls her eyes out upon seeing the results. She pleads with her best friend to see to reason but her mind has been corrupted. Trent notices Katie squeeze Justin's arm at one point and realizes what's up.

Episode 6 starts in the boy's cabin, Trent immediately confronting Justin over returning to manipulating ways. The model insists that what Katie had told him seemed to be the truth and argues it would have been worse for the team to leave them together. His bandmate doesn't buy it. Dawn also warns Ella of not trusting Justin, but the princess insists on vouching for his honor. Katie convinces Rodney and Dakota that she was telling the truth, while Topher and Amy relax and plot their next target.

By now building up confidence to talk more with people that aren't just Ezekiel and Staci, Beardo chats up Tyler. Lindsay being brought up reveals a painful memory that her and Tyler broke up following one too many instances of her forgetting his name in front of his family. The beatboxer awkwardly tries to console him. Max eavesdrops on Bridgette offering relationship advice to Ezekiel, which he interprets as the two dating. Shenanigans ensue.

For once the challenge takes place in the safe zone, with everyone being put into pairs for 5 randomly assigned matchups using replicas of Chef's spaghetti cannon. Whichever team has the most winning pairs is safe. Trent and Rodney beat Bridgette and Sammy. Eva and Noah beat Dakota and Ella. Justin and Katie beat Tyler and Max. Finally Ezekiel and Beardo beat Topher and Amy. Dawn had volunteered to be the Camel that went their battle solo, now facing a handicap match against Anne Maria and Staci. However, using her superior knowledge of the island she's able to sneak out the win.

While there's multiple losers, the team is especially harsh towards Staci and Anne Maria over fumbling a 2 to 1 lead. Between the bonding both had formed thus far it seemed surprisingly close, Anne Maria was on paper the stronger teammate but Staci had fared better against Dawn. Noah and Eva insisted that Staci needed to go, Bridgette and Sammy were on board. Beardo utilized his new bond with Tyler to earn his support while Staci uses her lying skills to convince Max that voting Anne Maria off is the most evil option. On paper it should at least come down to a tie.

However, in a moment of weakness Ezekiel can't find it in himself to vote for Anne Maria. He tries to appeal to Noah but is unsuccessful. He admits his shortcoming to a shocked Staci at the ceremony and begs for her forgiveness and friendship before she's sent home.

Episode 7 opened on Beardo confronting Ezekiel, scolding him for allowing their friend to be eliminated. They eventually made amends but Beardo warned the homeschooler that he didn't think things would work out with Anne Maria. To her credit, she was taken aback by the news that he had essentially saved her with his vote and she finally informed him that there were no hard feelings for season 4. The next day it was declared to be a non-elimination round, but with a catch. Chris was going to shake things up by reshuffling the teams. While he was enjoying the drama, he didn't want any alliances getting too comfy with their safety. After utilizing a roulette wheel, the teams were now as follows:

Clumsy Camels: Topher, Amy, Sammy, Noah, Dawn, Rodney, Beardo, Max, Dakota

Wimpy Walruses: Justin, Katie, Bridgette, Eva, Ella, Trent, Ezekiel, Anne Maria, Tyler

Immediately the twins were incensed to be paired with each other. Now with her assertiveness training in full effect, Sammy wouldn't back down leading to full fledged yelling matches with Amy. Watching the arguments convince Rodney to finally stop falling for Amy's manipulations for good. Topher decided he would lay low for now and let Amy take any falls if people started asking questions about schemes from the season. Noah was annoyed to be separated from those he was familiar with but planned to adapt. Beardo felt similarly lost but wound up finding that he could talk very well with Dawn. Dakota found Max's antics amusing.

Justin was obviously happy to still have a loyal pawn in Katie with him, though things were increasingly awkward between him and Trent. Despite no longer teaming with Noah, Eva was glad to still have Tyler along though she couldn't tell why. Anne Maria decided she would stick close to Ezekiel out of necessity since he wouldn't betray her. Ella confided in Bridgette about her conflicting feelings between Queen of Nature Dawn and Prince Charming Justin.

The Walruses would later win a quiz based challenge and the right to a feast but for the most part the episode was about exploring the new team dynamics.

Episode 8 would be the first true test for these new teams with elimination looming. The Camels were quickly growing exhausted with the twins constant fights. Topher scouted Noah as a potential partner down the line. Dawn picked up on helping Rodney with his troubled to add on to Trent's lessons. Max roped Beardo and Dakota both into a failed scheme that nearly injured all three. Trent decided to ally up with Bridgette, coming to terms that he couldn't quite trust his band mate in this game anymore. Ezekiel approached Tyler and Eva about joining their workout sessions in a bit to make himself more appealing. Katie gushes about her relationship with Justin to Ella, string up more conflict in the princess.

For their challenge the teams must try to track down Fang in the fun zone and ride atop his back for the longest amount of time. Despite good efforts from Dawn, Rodney, and surprisingly Max, the Walruses win in a curbstomp. Of major note is that the fighting between the sisters comes to a climax mid-challenge. Sammy dodges an attempted punch and pushes her sister away. However, Amy is accidentally pushed into an already berserk Fang who was in the process of trying to buck off Beardo. Retaliation ensues and the aftermath requires Amy to be on crutches.

Amy naturally blames her sister for the ordeal and tries to use this as an excuse to have her eliminated. However, her team sees her as the instigator of the fight, on top of her now being virtually useless to them. Topher does not make an attempt to save his ally, even blaming her for much of the first team version's drama to drive the knife in deeper. Her sister is eliminated, but Sammy feels conflicted since she blames herself for injuring Amy.

Episode 9 first depicts a nightmare sequence from Sammy, still dealing with the guilt of injuring her sister. Dawn tries to help Sammy work through it but progress is slow. Rodney feels revitalized with no longer having to hear Amy's manipulations in his ear and talks up Trent for more advice. Dakota checks in on Katie to see how things are going. Max dramatically tries to mind game Beardo into panicking over who could have voted for him last ceremony, but he instantly deduces that it was Max himself. Noah can tell Topher is being slimy but leaves him be for now. Ezekiel asks Tyler about his relationship experience. Immediately after Eva approached Bridgette to vent her confusion over why Tyler being single was exciting news to her. Bridgette starts to feel a bit stressed over being everyone's go-to advice source. Justin attempts working his charm on Anne Maria for a new pawn and winds up with hair spray in his lungs.

Back in the wild zone, the competitors build a tree fort and defend it from the wildlife and enemy team. Once again the Walruses win despite Noah creating a fairly strong defense strategy. Sammy nearly gets Rodney injured at one point but he immediately forgives her since it was an accident. Things seem like they'll come down to either Max, who's failed gadgets couldn't put a dent in the enemy fort, or one of Topher and Dakota since neither did much of note in the challenge.

However, before the final results can be revealed Sammy shocks all by revealing she's bowing out of the competition. She sites the game being negative for her mental health, but is thankful for the help she received from the likes of Bridgette, Eva, Tyler, and Dawn.

Episode 10 would see the Walruses growing ever more confident thanks to their winning streak. Justin attempts to subtly manipulate Ella to staying on his side without setting off Dawn's defenses. He also tries smoothing things over with Trent since he hasn't had to scheme lately thanks to the wins. Katie and Anne Maria gossip and the former grills the later on her reception to Ezekiel's obvious attempts at impressing her. She's unsure how to feel. Eva and Tyler continue to bond and Bridgette encourages Eva to try an pursue her feelings.

Meanwhile the Camels recoup with both twins now gone. Topher tests the waters with Dakota, Noah, and even Max as potential partners after being told he was in the bottom two in the previous ceremony. Rodney and Beardo bond over their awkwardness and the progress they've made regarding it thanks to the help they've received this season. Dawn meditates on her interest in Ella and worries over her naive nature putting her in danger if the Walruses ever lose.

That for now doesn't wind up being a concern since for the fourth time in a row the Walruses manage a win, this time in a fun zone lazer maze themed obstacle course. Riding his new wave of confidence with Amy gone, Rodney steps up and tries to turn his team against Topher since he finds him just as shady as the mean twin. In turn, Topher works overtime to appeal to his prospective partners. While none agree to a full on alliance with the wannabe host, his gift of gab still winds up being better than Rodney's. The hopeless romantic leaves with his head held high, content with feeling that he's grown as a man since returning to the show.

Episode 11 sees the Camels in a weird state of affairs. Topher has a new confident lease on things, feeling himself to be secure moving forward, though Noah in secret just saw Rodney as the bigger threat and is only humoring Topher for now. Max continues to amuse Dakota and she asks if he'd want to be part of Sam's silly video game show. He claims evil bows to no one in response. Beardo vents his worries to Dawn that they'll be the next two to go and both buckle down to ensure they won't lose again.

Eva touches base with Noah following his multiple survived ceremonies, and he's shocked to see how flustered the normally stoic powerhouse gets when Tyler is brought up. Bridgette says she's impressed with the growth Ezekiel has had from the guy back on TDI and assures him if things don't pan out with Anne Maria that there's more fish in the sea. Ella brings up Sadie when talking to the other BFFFL and she responds poorly to remembering their fallout. Trent has to save Tyler from nearly getting himself killed during a klutzy moment.

After so many crushing losses, the Camels finally pull out a clutch win. A second ever talent show competition is held and the winning trio of Beardo's sound performance, Dawn's animal whispering, and Max's comedy routine (see also: failed showing of his supreme evil awesomeness) trumps the outings from Trent, Ella, and Eva. With Katie and Ella on his side, Justin cooks up a plan to make a big move. First he must divide up the other votes.

Per his suggestion, Ella approaches Ezekiel and Anne Maria, suggestion that Justin should be eliminated. Neither have any objections. Katie happens upon Eva and Tyler, telling them that Ella's head isn't in the game and is a weak link. They find no reason to disagree. Finally Justin speaks with Trent and Bridgette, and in a bid to dispel any suspicions of his manipulations towards Katie says the three of them can vote for her. He reasons that why would he so soon cut a pawn if that's what he viewed her as, reasoning that he's merely been trying to support her after her fallout with Sadie but now she's grown increasingly unstable and should be eliminated for the own good of her mental health. At first reluctant, bringing up the similar exit that happened for Sammy makes Bridgette agree, so Trent joins in.

With that, Justin had his pick for who to vote off. Eva's might was tempting, but she was easily flustered and an easy meat shield for the future. Anne Maria was scrappy but he doubted her intelligence would make her a true threat. In the end he decided upon Bridgette. Kind and supportive, who would want to vote her off in the future if not now? Many were shocked and heartbroken by the result, but Bridgette tried to face her elimination with dignity and wish her friends good luck.

Episode 12 leads to fallout in the wake of Bridgette's elimination. Justin has to defend himself against Trent, bringing up that he agreed to a plan for voting Bridgette out for the very same reason back in TDI. The two fail to come to an understanding. Katie and Ella feign ignorance to the whole ordeal, though the later doesn't feel great about the lying. Dawn picks up on this and tries to help her see to reason. Beardo meets up with Ezekiel to see how things are going. Noah tries to gauge if Tyler is also interested in Eva, coming to the conclusion that he is. Topher encourages Max to reap chaos on the other team while they're in shambles, but the gnome is thwarted by Anne Maria.

Camels continue to maintain their momentum with a win, managing to just scrape by in an eating challenge taking place in the wild zone despite Topher's weak stomach almost screwing them. Justin tries to employee a similar trick to the previous ceremony, this time with a new target in mind. However, someone else puts in the work first. Trent is able to link up with both of the team's other duos and confirm that Justin needs to go for his hand in causing Bridgette's elimination. No objections are had and they all fake agreeing when approached about dividing their votes again.

Justin is shocked when told he was being eliminated, but not as shocked as he and everyone else would soon be at what happens next. Ella reveals the immunity idol some songbirds had directed her to in the fun zone, and declares that as repayment to Justin saving her all those challenges ago she'll be using it on him now to save Justin from elimination. This in turn means that Justin's target is eliminated instead. Trent glares at his bandmate, lamenting that this game brings out the worst in him and who knows if there will even BE a Drama Brothers by the time the season is over.

Episode 13 shows that Ella has quickly grown to regret her decisions. Watching the harsh fallout between Justin and Trent made her realize that Dawn's warnings were true all along, but her realization came too late. While being consoled by Dawn over the ordeal, an eavesdropping Justin is told off for his behavior and he realizes he's lost the princess as an ally. Katie still refuses to see to reason when told she can't trust who she believes to be her boyfriend. Ezekiel's beginning to get noticeable results thanks to Eva and Tyler, but makes an offhand comment confusing them for a couple which gets amusing reactions from both. Topher begins to set backup plans in the event of Justin's eliminations when Noah brings up that the model likely won't survive another ceremony. Since he'd already made efforts to reach Dakota and Max, now Topher tries to earn Beardo's trust which goes awkwardly. This locks in that Dawn is his likely next target.

Chris sees that the next ceremony will likely be obvious regardless of who wins and decides to implement a twist. Similar to the dueling challenge, the teams will be divided up into pairs. Each pair is sent into an underground tunnel system dug out by the mutated giant moles with the task of escaping. The last pair to not make it to the surface will be the only ones up for elimination. To make matters more high stake, one Walrus will have to go it solo, risking auto elimination if they lose. Though Chris is surprised when Eva volunteers for this role without hesitation, despite Tyler's objections.

The pairs become: Beardo and Dawn, Noah and Topher, Dakota and Max, Justin and Katie, Ezekiel and Anne Maria, Ella and Tyler. Various highjinxs ensue, including Max getting himself and Dakota further lost after irritating a blind mole, Ella singing calming songs to keep Tyler from freaking out, and the Justin/Katie pairing getting themselves increasingly filthy to their horror. Miraculously, the solo Eva is the first one to escape the cave. Eventually it comes down to just Max and Dakota left for the Camels, while Ezekiel and Anne Maria were left for the Walruses. The later pair was actually making decent progress but some misplaced confidence from Anne Maria caused a slip up that sent them tumbling down a chasm. Despite their best efforts, they just barely exit a little while after Max and Dakota. Justin smirks but is inwardly relieved that he isn't an option for voting.

Anne Maria resigns herself to her fate and Chris asks for the Camels to also attend the ceremony for unknown reasons. The Jersey girl readies herself for the Duckie of Shame but is blindsided when Ezekiel is the one eliminated. When questioned why, he reveals that he had told the team it was his own fault that they lost, claiming the tunnels brought back some feral PTSD and that he'd take responsibility. After calling out the lie, Ezekiel reveals he owed Anne Maria the favor following the season 4 mine incident. She gives him an appreciative kiss and encourages him to continue his workouts and they'll see what happens post-season. Beardo shares an emotional goodbye with his friend and the two promise to hang out alongside Staci sometime.

Episode 14 kicks off the second half of the season in a twist fashion. Immediately after Ezekiel's elimination, Chris reveals he called the Camels to this ceremony because the teams are now disbanded. The merge was here. When asked about a potential returnee he claimed there were no second chances for Rejects. This twelve would be the only mergers. Everyone looked around at their competition and thought over how they got here.

Anne Maria started the season aloof but eventually formed unlikely bonds with the likes of Bridgette and Ezekiel, learning to loosen up. She had been saved not once but twice by the homeschooler and she didn't plan on squandering the opportunity.

Beardo entered as a first boot loser but found kindred souls in Ezekiel and Staci. The two of them helped bring him out of his shell and grow his confidence. Both were now gone, so now it was up to him to stand on his own two feet.

Dakota had admittedly played things fairly under the radar. Nonetheless, she maintained a good relationship with most of the cast as was willing to eliminate anyone without being spiteful about it. She had some tools that certainly helped her get here.

Dawn wasn't expecting it, but she was entering the merge with both a love interest and someone she strongly disliked. She was hopeful that things would work out well with Ella, but just as hopeful that soon they'd be making Justin face karma for his manipulation.

Ella, speaking of which, wasn't in the highest of spirits despite merging. Her naïve nature had allowed her to be tricked by Justin's charms and only support from those that actually cared for her like Dawn kept her grounded. She was optimistic for the future but worried that she lacked to grit to survive.

Eva meanwhile was a force to be reckoned with, stronger than anyone left and looking at some decent bonds. Her longtime friendship with Noah was good, but now she also had... whatever it was between her and Tyler. Romance wasn't her forte but at the very least she was going to watch his back. Er, not like that... ok maybe also like that.

Justin had risen to the occasion after being told he was a second rate villain when the season began. Digging deep to bring out his conniving side, he now had a solid hit list of B, Brick, Sadie, Bridgette, and Trent to his name. Not to mention a loyal pawn in Katie. The question was, could he keep this up going forward?

Katie unfortunately was too stuck in delusions to truly enjoy her merger status. Getting here cost a nasty fallout with her best friend, and while she truly believed herself and Justin to be soulmates, everyone else could see he was just using her. Who knew if she'd ever see to reason.

Max

Noah felt he got here with two of his favorite things. His brain and keeping his head down. He managed to avoid making any enemies despite a small bit of scheming in the early game and felt confident that he'd be able to outsmart the rest of the competition.

Topher fancied himself the head honcho of the island, though most would argue he was simply Justin's right hand man with only Rodney under his belt as a purely him move. And even then, was that fully him to credit or also Noah? Either way, he had pissed less people off than Justin which could be a good sign.

And finally, Tyler. Despite feeling lost at first, now he was looking better than ever. He had finally merged, avoided any drama, and had some good bonds such as with Beardo and Eva. Maybe a bit something more in the later's case? This season was kind of crazy but he had a good feeling about the future!

As a celebration for the merge's start, Chris held another non-elimination challenge which gave the campers a scavenger hunt for a key. The key would unlock a new 3 star motel building that would provide better sleeping for the night and continental breakfast for each winner going forward and someone else of their choosing. Dawn won easily enough and shared the reward with Ella.

Episode 15 returned to raising the stakes, with yet another twist thrown in to keep the contestants on their toes. The winner of the next challenge would receive the sole vote to eliminated someone. Everyone planned to go all out trying to win.

Beardo and Anne Maria awkwardly decided to work together, mutually figuring that it's what Ezekiel would want for them. Dakota continues to gossip with Katie but is unnerved seeing how depended she's becoming towards Justin. Noah agrees to Eva's suggestion of an alliance with Tyler, though keeps it quiet that he's still lending an ear to Topher so he can keep a tab on where other votes are going. Dawn and Ella decide to establish themselves as an official couple despite the increasing this would do towards their threat level. Max continues to be a chuckling annoyance that no one pays much mind.

The challenge involves scuba diving, with the campers having to explore the sunken Wawanakwa for the defaced Chris portrait Gwen made. With a bit of sea creature charming and some dumb luck, Justin manages to find it. However, he sees an opportunity to put the spotlight on someone else and take heat off of himself. He hands the painting over to Topher, offering him his chance to shine for the network as the sole vote haver. Topher eagerly accepts.

Many feel nervous but ultimately he chooses to eliminate Dawn, citing her abnormal aura and animal powers as too much of a wild card to leave in the game. Though it's obvious it's more because Justin wanted the girl who took away his pawn out. Dawn shares a kiss with her emotional girlfriend and ensures her that she does have the inner strength to continue on without her. Ella is nonetheless a sobbing mess as she's sent away.

Episode 16 opened on Ella still struggling to keep her head held high after all that she had been to. Remembering back to her previous coaching of Sammy, Eva decides to try and whip Ella into shape, bringing Tyler along for the ride. Justin starts to plan how to stack the deck back in their favor, suggesting that Katie could recruit Dakota while Topher recruits Noah. This would leave Justin with bringing Max on board, something he didn't enjoy trying as the little gnome touted his superiority and "best qualities." Dakota was receptive since Katie was her best friend in the competition, though she was worried for her well being. Noah meanwhile wasn't enthused at the idea of also working with his anti-me. Anne Maria and Beardo kept their heads down.

Another challenge meant another potential twist. This one would be an endurance competition. Whoever did the best would win the motel stay but whoever dropped out first would be auto-eliminated. Topher brought up the idea of sabotaging Ella since she was so firmly against them, but Justin had a different target in mind. After being informed of his lack of interest in an alliance, Justin couldn't trust Noah's scheming mind and the obvious bond he already had with Eva. The scrawny nerd was easy enough to sabotage from behind the scenes and the plan was a success.

Noah sighs over another reality show loss but is somewhat content with finally having merged in Total Drama. Rather than waste his energy telling off the villains during his elimination ceremony, he instead focuses on Eva and Tyler. He tells them to get over themselves and just make it official already, then leaves. Both are flustered, though Eva did win the reward and chooses to invite Tyler along. Chris deadpans that they need to "keep it PG."

Episode 17 has the guarantee that the final 10 would indeed be doing a normal vote off this time, no twists attached. Justin remained confident, thinking he had a good shot at winning immunity anyway. On the flipside Topher was antsy and tried to get a confirmed agreement out of Max. This proved difficult since apparently "evil gives promises to no one!" Katie wanted to get Dakota on "her boyfriend's" side but the heiress by now could plainly see that Justin was treating her poorly and wanted to get her friend to see to reason. Eva brought in Anne Maria to try and help Ella learn how to speak more confidently without taking shit from people, while Beardo and Tyler enjoyed some bro hangout time full of near injury shenanigans.

The challenge saw the contestants having to protect a hoard of supplies from incoming hungry animals from all sides in the wild zone. Whoever ended with the most supplies would win. Max tried (and failed) to use his evil mind to protect his stash, Eva used brute force, Justin depended on his charm to keep animals at bay. But with her newfound confidence it was actually Ella who won, bringing Anne Maria along with her to the motel as thanks for the earlier training since she didn't want to separate Eva from Tyler.

Now Justin began to feel the pressure since Ella made her intentions to eliminate him once and for all known. Though he had Topher and Katie on his side, he needed more. To make a familiar plan work, he required Max's cooperation. It required some humiliating groveling and even agreeing to be Max's minion, whatever that meant, but eventually he succeeded. Then he got to work. Katie "admitted" to Dakota that she was right about Justin but didn't have it in her heart to eliminate him until she could have proper closure, begging for her help to eliminate Topher instead. Max approached Beardo and Anne Maria and pointed out the overwhelming threat that Eva poised. He claimed it was in his own interest because eliminating her right before her and Tyler became an item would be evil timing. As for Justin and Topher, the solidified who the true target would be with Ella immune.

Votes were scattered and everyone not in the know was confused when the one going home was... Dakota? Seems Justin didn't like that she was now trying especially hard to turn Katie against him and needed to nip that in the bud sooner rather than later. A bittersweet feeling Dakota tells her friend that she'll start getting Sadie ready for the inevitable talk the two would need and left with grace.

Episode 18 was reminiscent of the time following Bridgette's elimination. The ploy had worked but now those not in Justin's alliance could unite to ensure it wouldn't happen again. The villains wouldn't be surviving the next vote in tact. On a happier note, with things growing increasingly unpredictable in the game, Eva and Tyler finally decide to take the dive and become a couple. Though with Eva feeling out of her element and Tyler slightly intimidated it's clear this won't be the overly mushy kind of pairing. Beardo asks Anne Maria what her plans are with Ezekiel, she admits she's unsure but wants to at least give him a chance.

In the fun zone a hide and seek challenge takes place, requiring the crew to stay safe from Chef. Things come down to Eva and, surprisingly, Max. But eventually Chef finds the bodybuilder hidden high up a tree that she had camouflaged herself with the wild foliage. As soon as he was declared the winner Max shockingly slid out of Anne Maria's hair, having been hidden in there the whole time without her noticing. He refused to share his reward with anyone but after Chris told him it was mandatory he played eenie meenie miney moe until landing on Beardo as who he'd share it with. The important thing was that Justin WASN'T immune.

Topher was bummed to see him go but prepared to cut his losses. But of course Justin had one more plan up his sleeve. Catching the wannabe host where he knew they'd be heard, Justin "confronted" Topher and told him he needed to admit that Justin had been the shot caller and true mastermind behind everything this season. The bait was taken and Topher wasn't about to be upstaged. He clapped back against Justin and insisted that HE was the one making the moves instead, claiming he'd be dropping dead weight by removing Justin from the equation. Running down all the eliminations they had caused, Topher tried to take credit for everything. Justin pretended to sulk off in defeat, but smirked in secret knowing his plan worked.

Not everyone had been convinced to change their votes, but it was enough. Topher could only stare off in shock, jaw permanently dropped as he was put in the Duckie and sent away.

Episode 19 felt like the beginning of the final stretch, allowing the final 8 to take inventory of how they were doing. Justin and Katie continued to weasel their way through round to round, the later blissfully drowning out the naysayers who claimed her boyfriend was using her. They were just jealous of what they had. As for the manipulator, Justin was obviously glad to still be safe, but the stress of constantly having to save himself couldn't have been good for his beauty upkeep. Hopefully he had enough in the tank to ride out the rest of the season.

Beardo and Anne Maria continued to lay low and get by on the solid social bonds they had formed. If they continued to play this smart they may just yet sneak their way into the finale. On the flipside, the clear alliance to watch right now was Eva, Tyler, and Ella. The jock couple had made strides in toughening the princess up while still being supportive to make sure she kept her identity. She was out for blood against Justin, and the duo were more than happy to help her out.

And then there was Max, just gleefully giggling on the sidelines. He was very glad to see Topher go, how dare anyone else other than Max himself claim to be a mastermind in this game? Hmph!

Knowing that luck and tricks can only work so many times, Justin dug deep and pulled off a win at the following challenge. It was a wild area dig through quicksand for treasure, the model had actually experienced dealing with quicksand via some of his more niche exfoliating techniques. Angry at him being safe, Ella reasoned the next best thing would be to eliminate his loyal pawn.

Tempting as it was to just let Katie take the fall so he could finally enjoy a stress free ceremony, Justin had enough sense to know it would just make things harder for him next time if she left. So he made a genuine plea to the Anne Maria and Beardo duo, utilizing a familiar logic they heard before. Katie had yet to win anything all season, but there was a major threat in the game who could very easily steamroll once her and Justin were gone. If she didn't leave now, then when?

Unfortunately, they could fault his logic. With Max convinced thanks to his "minion's" reasoning, it was the end of the line for Eva. Tyler kept her composed at the ceremony and he promised that he'd win the game in her place. She jokingly threatened that he better make good on his word.

Episode 20 saw Beardo now on the other side of a confrontation he had previously had with Ezekiel, now having to defend himself to Tyler for his hand in eliminating the guy's girlfriend. Tyler was understandably upset at the lack of head's up but eventually understood that Beardo had to play his own game and admitted what a beast Eva is. To make it up to him, Beardo vowed to never vote against Tyler for the rest of the game.

Ella was bitter having another supportive figure leave the game before her. When Max arrived to try and tease her he found himself getting a verbal beatdown the likes of which he hadn't seen since Scarlett at the start of the season. Anne Maria tried a tough love approach on getting through to Katie but couldn't pull it off. All the while Justin sighed and prepared himself for whatever he needed to do next.

The campers had to build monuments representing their journey throughout the season with the most impressive earning immunity. Anne Maria managed to hone her craft and cinch out the win with her unorthodox fashion sense, surprising all when she invited Katie to the motel since perhaps forcibly separating her from Justin may help. On that note, an annoyed Justin returned to Anne Maria and Beardo to try and earn their votes, reasoning that Ella had grown too unpredictable to leave alone. Unfortunately for him, this time they had no intention to listen to him.

What should have been a straightforward ceremony turned into yet another shocker when it was declared there was a tie. Ella and Justin would compete in a tie breaker. The princess revealed that she herself caused the tie because she wanted the satisfaction to eliminate Justin by her own hands. Bemused, Justin was just happy to have a chance for safety. The two were tasked with destroying each other's monuments from the challenge, with the cooler destruction getting the win.

Justin had experience throwing tantrums and breaking stuff to get his way as a child, while Ella despite her developments in not being a pushover still wasn't a violent person at heart. The model was declared the winner of the tiebreaker, but Ella wouldn't leave before kicking him in the crotch and declaring his days numbered. She left, eager to be off the island and reunited with Dawn.

Episode 21 featured the return of a fan favorite challenge, the tri-armed triathlon. Justin was handcuffed to Tyler, Beardo was handcuffed to Katie, and Anne Maria was handcuffed to Max. In perhaps the most anti-climactic challenge yet, Anne Maria and Max won two rounds in a row, rendering the rest of the planned challenge moot and they were declared the winners of immunity. Justin angrily accused Tyler and Beardo of throwing the matchups to prevent him or Katie from winning immunity. Both boys feigned ignorance and just claimed Max was too powerful to beat. Max enjoyed this logic and backed it up wholeheartedly.

Try as he may to change one of their votes, Justin couldn't sway Tyler, Anne Maria, or Beardo. Furthermore, Anne Maria let it slip to the wannabe evil genius that Justin considered himself the main mastermind of the season, having just thrown Topher under the bus as a pawn. Max couldn't have this, there could be only one supreme evil!

In a familiar sight, Justin was declared the loser with four votes against him to two. By all accounts his nine lives were up. However, there was one last hail marry he could do, even if it would rid him of his final ally. Turning to Katie he laid on a guilt trip about their bond and all he had done for her this season. He begged her for one little favor in return, taking his place for the elimination. Tyler, Anne Maria, and Beardo protested and tried to convince her not to, but Justin's charms were too powerful. Katie broke down and volunteered to take his place.

As she was dragged to the Duckie she begged Justin to prove the others wrong and confirm that their love was real. Tears streamed down her face and she nearly broke out into hysterics trying to tell herself that this wasn't fake. In a moment of clarity, seeing Katie in such a state gave Justin pause, shocking him into silence as he realized he had truly crossed a line. Taking his silence as his answer, a defeated Katie was strapped to the Duckie in the most awkward ceremony yet.

Episode 22 continued with the callback by opening not on the final five, but instead the nearly long forgotten Plays Des Losers. It was time to check in on the 19 eliminated contestants and see what they were up to.

Scarlett was actually absent from the resort. After one failed escape too many which saw the injuries of various employees and interns, not to mention thousands of dollars in property damage, she had been karted off to a holding cell by the authorities. She could be seen on a monitor with a live feed from her jail cell, wrapped in a straightjacket and wearing a Hannibal Lecter style mask. She wasn't amused with the season and refused to make much comment. B also didn't want to make much comment but like, obviously. Leonard lamented that he warned the others of how far the Dark One could go if left unchecked, while Brick praised the growth seen from Tyler, Beardo, and Anne Maria, though he was quick to lambast Justin's actions.

Staci and Ezekiel had reconciled during their Playa stay, with the former teasing Ezekiel about his developments with Anne Maria. She was clearly rooting hard for Beardo, though Ezekiel admitted he would have a hard time figuring out who to support if Beardo and Anne Maria were both finalists. Amy had healed up from her crutches but has the sense to avoid her sister, refusing to comment when asked. She was one of the few to praise Justin's ruthlessness throughout the show. Speaking of which, Sammy was hanging out with Bridgette, with both happy to be free from the stress of the competition and rooting for Anne Maria. Rodney cast his support for Tyler and admitted he had continued his girl talk lessons with Trent. The guitarist in question claimed Rodney had potential to be a heartthrob once he was done being educated and bitterly lamented that perhaps he could replace Justin in the Drama Brothers since that whole future was called into question.

Dawn and Ella were happily dating in the peacefulness of the Playa. Obviously they were disappointed that Justin was still not eliminated as well, but both were confident that his time was up soon. Noah unwound in the pool alongside Eva, berudgingly admitting that Justin had pulled off some impressive saves but still criticizing him as sloppy and unsure how he was still in the game. Both were obviously rooting for Tyler. Dakota heckled Topher over being upstaged by the season's true villain while the host desperately tried to cling on to the notion that he had been a major factor in the season.

And finally was Katie and Sadie. Dakota and some other had laid some ground work preparing Sadie for the talk once Katie would arrived, though no one could anticipate how bad Katie's mental state would be upon arrival. Sadie assured her best friend that she wasn't mad with her, nor did she blame her for falling for Justin's manipulation. The two shared a very loud, very tear laden reconciliation, Sadie refusing to leave her friend's side as she tried to recover from the still fresh pain of betrayal.

When it came time for Chris to ask the contestants who they wanted to vote off, there would be no Leshawna situation. While not everyone voted the same, some wanted others gone more or actually respected his game, Justin was voted by an overwhelming majority. Many were giddy to see the look on his face. Until Chris happily revealed that Rejects don't get to make big decisions like that and he only asked their opinions for the fun of it. No one would be eliminated. Chris was pelted with garbage for being an asshole.

Episode 23 established that the trio of Anne Maria, Beardo, and Tyler were fully banded together, intent on ensuring Justin wouldn't be seeing the finale. Max revoked the supermodel's minion status, feeling betrayed by his claims to be a mastermind when Max was the only true one to speak of. Justin himself was a bit shaken seeing how badly he had effected Katie but at this point he was already far too deep into the game to stop now. May as well win it all, otherwise what was the point of everything?

Chris declared that this challenge would be an auto elimination, much to the trios disdain. In the fun zone they'd be repeating the egg gathering challenge from All Stars, though now the mothers were on much higher alert, making collecting their eggs more dangerous. Whoever had the most would win the motel while the least would be out. Utilizing his sounds for distractions, Beardo managed to win out the challenge and brought Tyler with him to the motel.

As for who lost? Well a very petty and vengeance seeking Max made it his mission to take down Justin to prove his superiority. Throughout the challenge he bombarded Justin with sabotage attempt after sabotage attempt. The traps themselves were mostly harmless but they served well as distractions that often led to Justin being attacked by the egg mommas. By the time the challenge was over, Justin was badly beaten up and even had a sprained ankle.

... unfortunately he still managed to get a few eggs in his basket whereas Max dedicated his entire challenge time to just messing with Justin. He ominously promised the model that he hadn't seen the last of evil before being forced to ride the Duckie.

Episode 24 featured a jet ski race around the island, with the water full of booby traps to keep the campers on their toes. Tyler was fairly confident in his jet ski capabilities, though Beardo and Anne Maria were less so. Regardless, they all agreed to gang up on Justin and prevent him from winning however possible. Justin himself was starting to feel lonely being the outcast of the cast. He had jet ski experience thanks to all his swimsuit magazine shoots, but the strained ankle would be a hurdle. Still, he'd be defiant to the end and try to get the win.

Explosions rang out through the water with everyone working to try and cross the finish line first. Justin was dealing with a 3 on 1 handicap but he was doing his best to try and give the others the slip. That's when it happened. In an event no one saw coming who else would come rocketing through the waters but MAX? He had repurposed the Duckie to bring him back to Boney Island and torpedoed towards Justin's jet ski. He jumped on to the model's head and latched himself on tight. Unable to see, Justin sent the two of them careening into an explosive, ending in a nasty crash for both. With him out of commission, Tyler crossed the finish line first with ease.

A now badly injured Justin was unceremoniously voted off with as little fanfare as possible. He had taken the brunt of the damage from the crash so a mildly bruised and cut up Max sung his own praises and claimed his superiority over Justin. As thanks for the weird kid's role in eliminating Justin, the final three joined in and also began talking up Max, declaring him the true evil mastermind of the season and superior to Justin in every way. Satisfied, Max rode the Duckie on top of a crippled supermodel.

Episode 25 meant this was the penultimate episode, only one more elimination before the finale. The trio had succeeded in making sure Justin didn't make it and reached the final 3 together. They all agreed to a let the best one win approach with no more partnerships. Much of the episode would be spent recapping the season and the journey these three made to get them here.

Chris announced that two challenges would be taking place, the winner of the first would be a finalist while the losers would compete in the second challenge to join them. Part 1 was a full fledged brawl, the final three being put in a giant suspended sumo ring and being told to get the others knocked off by any means necessary. Various traps and tools were given for helping. The boys gave it a good effort but Anne Maria was too scrappy and punched her ticket to the finale.

Part 2 would see Beardo vs Tyler compete in 1 on 1 dodgeball, using special dangerous "balls" from the fun zone. The battle was intense, neck and neck coming down to the final point. Tyler's skills had improved since TDI but the unique weapons meant it was possible for Beardo to make comebacks. With the final point deciding the victor, Beardo flashed back to a promise he made Tyler about never voting him out after cutting Eva. Smirking, Beardo suddenly tripped and messed up his throw, opening the window for Tyler to secure the win.

Chris laments how fitting it would have been to promote a potential worst to first story for the season but shrugs it off as not meant to be. Beardo enjoys a peaceful goodbye with his friends and wishes them both luck with the finale.

Contestants Standing:

Finalists: Anne Maria and Tyler

The finale was finally here. After many weeks of trials and tribulations, Anne Maria and Tyler found themselves competing for the million dollar prize. Both reminisced about the crazy season and wished the other luck, though both were full driven to be the ones with the check at the end. Soon enough the 22 eliminated campers (well, 21 plus a monitor to show Scarlett live via satellite) were brought back to Boney Island and allowed to sit in a support area for the finalist they were rooting for.

Anne Maria's Supporters: Scarlett, B, Amy, Topher, Justin, Max, Staci, Ezekiel, Beardo, Rodney, Dakota

Tyler's Supporters: Eva, Noah, Brick, Sammy, Bridgette, Trent, Dawn, Ella, Katie, Sadie, Leonard

For their final challenge the two would compete in a multi-part gauntlet that would take them all over the island, forcing them to revisit various challenges from throughout the season. Things were back and forth, sometimes with Tyler in the lead and other times with Anne Maria ahead. The two gave it their all and kept it neck and neck to the bitter end. But once it was all said and done, only one winner could cross the finish line to the delight of their supporters. Who was it? I suppose that's for you to decide.

Final Results:

24th: Scarlett, 23rd: B, 22nd: Brick, 21st: Leonard, 20th: Sadie, 19th: Staci, 18th: Amy, 17th: Sammy, 16th: Rodney, 15th: Bridgette, 14th: Trent, 13th: Ezekiel *Merge* 12th: Dawn, 11th: Noah, 10th: Dakota, 9th: Topher, 8th: Eva, 7th: Ella, 6th: Katie, 5th: Max, 4th: Justin, 3rd: Beardo, Winners/Runner Ups: Anne Maria and Tyler

Author's Note:

And that concludes the premier chapter for my What If style story. What did you guys think? Most chapters will be far, far shorter than this. The reason for its length is because this What If is the first of a few scrapped story concepts that I had originally planned to be full fledged fics. Revenge of the Rejects was going to be my sort of finale story but now that's become Battle of the Generations. Having a platform to at least run down what these stories would have been like is probably the main reason I'm making this to begin with. I did also consider a shortened version of RotR when I was still trying to make it happen as a full fic, this one in a 13 episode format. Though it still would have retained major things, Anne Maria vs Tyler as the finale, Tyler/Eva as the main couple, Justin as the main villain, etc. I hope reading this was interesting, it's a big load off to finally have the information about the scrapped story out there for people to see.

Of course, not all chapters will be these beefy scrapped fic run downs. Many, probably most, will be the usual butterfly effect how does a season change if x happens ordeals. Do feel free to suggest some of those if you wish, if one really catches my eye I may just make a chapter of it, but please, PLEASE actually react to the content of chapters when leaving a review. Don't JUST list off a bunch of What Ifs you want to see. I'm beggin ya here.

Now as for when I DO make another scrapped fic chapter, these are the other concepts I plan to make chapters of:

Personality Swapped Island: A TDI AU including Alejandro and Sierra where everyone has had their personalities switched with someone else. Heather is now a nerd while Beth is a queen bee, Harold is a punk while Duncan is a weirdo, etc.

Total Haunted Mansion: A sequel to my old, very rough fic Total Drama Survival (please do not read that story, it is from a bygone era). If I make this the chapter will deadass be called "What If there was a sequel to a fan fic no one remembers?"

Ridonculous Island: One half of a TDI/RR crossover with 14 RR contestants competing in TD format on Pahkitew Island.

Totally Dramatic Race: Other half of the crossover with TD pairs competing on a Ridonculous Race season

OC Season: I may just leave this one dead because I've lost most of my old info for it, but yeah, I had a plan for a season consisting entirely of OCs made by me. That always works out well for gaining an audience!

Again, most of the chapters will be the usual What If affairs, but the above potential chapters ARE the main reason I'm making the story to begin with so I'm just putting that out there ahead of time. The next beefy chapter I'll do is probably gonna be Personality Swapped Island, but I did very recently get inspiration for something else. A chapter of this where I make a season prediction of what I think the new Gen 4 contestants are like based entirely just off their names and designs and how I think they'll place. It sounds like a fun challenge, so I might do that if we don't have any new info for the new seasons by say, the end of the year.
