Rise and Shine Firefly
It's not the morning light that wakes you up, or the birds chirping, singing outside the window, not the distant chatter of voices from outside. It's the warm press of lips against your back. Then another further up. And another. And another right below your ear, "Rise and shine Firefly."
"You always say that." You turn in his arms, blinking your eyes open and seeing Ekko's soft smile, "But you're always the one who insists on staying in bed."
Ekko chuckles, "Guilty as charged." He leans down and presses his lips against yours. There's just a hint of something more... sensual in the way his lips slowly move against yours, but Ekko doesn't let it ignite further as he pulls away. "You'll be lucky to hear that we can take a bit more time today."
"Aren't you worried about how quiet it's been lately?" You cup Ekko's head, fingers scratching across his shaven fade.
"A little. But it only makes me savor these quite moments that much more." Ekko leans into your touch, his chin resting lightly on your stomach, "I wish I could stop time here. Just let us be here in this moment."
He bends his head, placing kiss after soft kiss against your skin. The moment is interrupted however by your stomach growling. "Sorry." You feel your cheeks and ears burn.
"Someone's hungry." Ekko grins, "Wanna make breakfast together? It's been a while since we had time for that."
"It has." You quickly go in for another kiss, deepen it just a little, just to feel Ekko press closer before you push on his shoulders "You seem quite hungry too." You watch as he give you his adorable lopsided pout.
"Smartass." Moves away a little begrudgingly and stretches his arms high above his head, flexing the sleep away from his muscles. "What are you in the mood for?" He looks at you over his shoulder. "We can make pancakes. I think we still have some fruit left."
You mimic his movements, stretching your muscles with a groan, "Sounds good. Do you want me to help you with your paint before that?" Ekko's brows lifted in surprise for a moment. He gave a slow nod. He was so used to doing it on his own, feeling your hands on his chin and cheek as you carefully paint the white hourglass symbol across his nose and forehead makes him melt into your touch, eyes fluttering closed for a few more minutes.
"Thanks Firefly." He leans up and steals a quick kiss from you as you're putting the paint away. You hum into the kiss, almost wanting to pull him back into bed. But your body makes its demand for food known once more. "Come on, lets make some food."
"Are you gonna put a shirt on?"
"Do you want me too?" He grins as his voice takes on a teasing tone.
You wait for a beat, then two, then three, "No."
"Then there's your answer." Ekko pulls you along towards the kitchen smiling brightly, ready to start the day properly with the love of his life.
