Dearest Diary,

Today, Klonoa and I decided to take a walk through the field outside of our hometown. It was such a beautiful day. Too beautiful to spend it sitting around indoors, in my opinion. Klonoa was so excited to go exploring, he was practically bouncing off of the walls. He has such an adventurous spirit, rather befitting of his name if you ask me. Once we got to the field, I set up a small picnic that I brought with us, whilst Klonoa ran around trying to catch a pretty looking butterfly.

I've noticed that he's become a lot more energetic as the years go by. Even for a 4 year old, my dear grandson is so full of energy. He's also quite fascinated with nature, both the flora and the fauna.

Seeing him happy makes me happy. However, it also makes me worried. I am very old, sometimes I forget that I am a grandmother, not a mother, and it makes me realise how old I truly am. I am not long for this world and I have come to accept that. I just worry for my grandson. Once I am gone, he will be all by his lonesome, left to look after himself.

Luckily, that day is not today, and despite my age I consider myself to be rather healthy. So I'll continue to look after him as I've always been doing.

Tomorrow is another day,

Elise
