"Come on Gwen… Come out of there, I'm sure it can't be that bad." Peter called, tapping on the bathroom door.

After getting the necessary materials, Gwen had gone to try on her new costume and had not come out of the bathroom since then.

"No! I look ridiculous." She called back from behind the door.

"Oh, it can't be that bad… I bet you look hot." He said in another attempt to make her open the door.

"You haven't seen it so you don't know." She retorted.

"Fair point." He sighed in defeat.

Since she had locked herself in the bathroom he had tried almost everything he could think of to try and get her to come out but so far nothing seemed to be working. His ideas were running out and at this point it had become a head scratcher.

"If you love me then please come out." He requested.

"I do love you Peter, but there is no way in Hell that I am coming out. I look way too thick in this."

"Nothing wrong with thick… In fact, I like a bit of thickness. Please Gwen, don't make me break this door down."

"I said no." She sighed.

"Alright… I'm going to give you to the count of three and then I will come in there." He told her.

"One…"

He could hear her shuffling around the bathroom, and for a split second he was hopeful that she might come out.

"Two…"

The lock on the door twisted, signaling that she had unlocked it, but still there was no sign of her actually opening the door.

"Three… Okay, you leave me with no choice, I'm coming-" He began to warn her but was quickly interrupted.

"Wait!" She called out just as he reached for the door knob.

"Are you going to come out?" He questioned, folding his arms.

"I… Yes, okay… I'll come out." She finally gave in.

"Good."

Backing away from the door, he dropped his hands down to his sides and leaned back against the wall opposite the bathroom just as the catch of the door clicked and it opened to reveal Gwen stood in the doorway; complete with costume.

Peter's eyes widened as he took in the sight of her standing before him, her natural beauty jumping out despite being hidden by the costume. His mouth dropped open as he was stunned into silence.

"W- Wow…" He stammered.

"See. I told you I look ridiculous."

"No you don't. Not at all, Gwen! You look beautiful and I was right, this is hot." He assured her.

Before she could say another word of protest, he stood up straight and placed his hand on her lower back, pulling her into him. Lifting her mask so that it was just below her nose, he planted a kiss on her soft pink lips.

"You look beyond amazing in this." He told her.

"Thank you."

Heading back into Gwen's bedroom, she stood by the window and stared out into the city. Peter came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist and staring in the same direction as she.

"What do we do now?" She asked, twisting her neck around to look up at him.

"Now?... We go out into the city so that you can learn a thing or two about all of this." He informed her.

"Like right now?... It's almost dark outside." She reminded him.

"Exactly, which means we don't have to worry about being seen."

"Oh, of course."

"So, what do you say?" He asked.

"Count me in." She agreed.

Going out into the busy city once again, Peter took Gwen to the exact same place that he had once used to practise his jumping and web shooting. With rooftops relatively close to one another and wide alleyways below, it was the perfect location.

Standing up on one of the rooftops above an old derelict shop, Gwen looked at Peter, who was in his full Spider-man suit, as though he just might have lost his mind.

"Let me get this straight… You want me to jump from this rooftop to that one right next to it?" She questioned, absolutely shocked by his instructions.

"Yes. I mean, you've seen what I do… This is a part of it."

"Right, I know that. But you do realise that there is quite a drop if I miss the target?" She asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

"I am aware of that. Though you should know by now that you have nothing to worry about, I am here and if you happen to miss the target, I will be jumping right off of here, swinging on a web and catching you safely in my arms before bringing you back to solid ground." He stated with a confident smile.

"I really don't think that I'm ready for this level of crazy just yet… I'm sorry." She explained, feeling awkward.

"No, no, it's okay… Perhaps we could start with something smaller, like web shooting and wall climbing." He suggested.

"I think that would be best for now." She agreed.

Pulling her into his arms, Peter aimed and shot a web at the building across the street and once it had latched on he took a few steps back before running forward and jumping off the ledge with Gwen securely in his arms. As soon as they were close enough to ground, he let go of the web and dropped to his feet.

"See… That wasn't so scary, was it?" He questioned in a teasing tone.

"No, but I wasn't the one doing the jumping." She reminded him.

"Yeah but soon it is going to be you." He stated.

"Anyways, so what are we starting with?" She asked, dodging the subject of jumping between buildings.

"Hmm… I think that wall climbing might be the safest at this point." He decided and took her hand to cross the street back to the side that they were originally on.

Deep in the middle of one of the many alleyways, Peter stopped in his tracks and turned to Gwen.

"Although it sounds crazy, this is actually the easy part." He informed her.

Ensuring that she got a good view of his actions, he put his suited up hands against one of the walls and slowly began climbing up, only looking down to make sure that Gwen didn't miss a single detail. Once he thought that she'd seen enough, he jumped back down.

"And it's as simple as that." He told her.

"Right."

"It's your turn now."

A brief look of shock and terror crossed her face but was soon replaced with a smirk as she walked up to the same wall that Peter had just been climbing.

"Come on Gwen, you can do this." He encouraged her.

Placing both hands on the wall, she found herself being able to grip on with very little effort and slowly she began to climb.

"See, you're doing it!" He cheered from the ground below.

After climbing up to the midpoint, she looked back down to see how far she had come, however the distance between herself and the ground seemed to overwhelm her as she began to lose her grip and eventually her balance. Her hands slipping from the wall, within seconds she was falling through the air; a surprised squeal escaped her mouth as gravity dragged her down.

Panic gripping his heart, Peter moved at lightning speed and caught Gwen in his arms before she could fall all the way to the ground. His heart was pounding from the scare just as much as hers.

"You okay?" He asked worriedly as he began checking her over for any sign of injury.

"I think so." She answered breathlessly.

Helping her back to her feet, he gave her a smile as the small progress she'd made crossed his mind.

"Okay, uh… That was great, maybe we should practice web shooting for now and come back to wall climbing a bit later." He stated.

"No, it's okay. I think I can get it… Let me try once more." She requested.

"Uh, I don't know Gwen, I don't want you getting hurt." He hesitated.

"I won't. Besides, I have you." She told him.

"Alright… One more try, and this time I'm giving you a boost." He decided.

"A boost?" She quizzed.

Without bothering to explain, he lifted her in his arms once again, her waist in his hands as he hoisted her up. Going along with it, she placed her hands on the wall once again and began to climb. Keeping his hands loosely around her; first her waist, then her legs and eventually the bottom of her feet, he slowly began to relax as he realised that she was able to climb more easily now than she had the first time. Once she realised that Peter no longer had a hold of her and she was climbing all by herself, a huge smile crept onto her face as she found the experience to be exhilarating.
