PROLOGUE
Generations ago, people with extraordinary powers began appearing, no one knows how and soon around 80% of the population had obtained super human power, these are now referred to as Quirks. A select few with these "quirks" began using their gifts for evil, but as more and more crimes were committed, people began to fight back. The bravest rose up to fight. These people that combated the evils of this new world claimed the title of Heroes. In this day and age, heroes have become a profession. A profession which many wish to pursue yet few achieve. I'm Sasaki Katsu and this is how I became one of the top 7 heroes.

"Sasaki kun, do you understand why you're here?" A stubby and stern, middle aged looking man asked from behind a wooden desk
"There are only 3 plausible reasons that I can think of, sir." Katsu replied curtly. He was seated in an office chair, in an office, a plain one at that, blank white walls, a boring wooden desk with nothing more than a pencil and notebook upon it, the only potentially interesting thing that could be found in that room apart from Katsu himself was a sheet of paper sitting on the desk. It was clearly a form that had been filled out and was turned over for no reason apart from obscuring the occupants of the dull room's view of the ink that had been oh so gracefully carved into it. The man behind the desk sighed, rubbed his face and spoke once more;
"And what might those- er plausible reasons be?"
"Well, at first I thought something might have happened to my father and you wished to inform me, as you very well know, his profession is quite known for getting injured often. The second reason was that I was perhaps in trouble for something that may have happened this morning. And finally, the most likely option is that you wished to discuss my future career in academics. So Kuroo-Sensai, why am I here?" The boy answered. The tone he used was obviously passive-agressive but Shun Kuroo had zero fucks to give therefore ignored the teens tone.
"While I would question what you might have done to believe you'd be in trouble for, I truly don't care. Your father is fine as far as I'm aware, we are here to discuss where you'll be applying for high school." Shun glanced down at the overturned form and sighed once more before continuing, "From what I have read of your form you are applying to Shiketsu and U.A. both prestigious and high standing schools. However, no other schools have made it onto your list so I wonder what is your back up plan if you don't get accepted into either of these schools?"
"I need not worry about such a pitiful thing as being unable to enter both schools, in fact I received a call from my father during the lunch break that I had received recommendations of both schools. Of course, I am aiming for U.A. due to its level of flexibility compared to Shiketsu. Now I am only required to make it past the recommended exams which I assure you I will pass. Now if this meeting is over shall I leave?" Katsu finished his tone completely even, he showed no hint of smugness or nervousness. Whilst his words were arrogant, his actions would decipher whether such a statement was justified.

"So Katsu, your results from U.A. and Shiketsu have arrived, shall we open them or do you wish to do it privately?" I asked, looking at the very boy I loathe and love.
He grows more like his uncle everyday and it scares me, with what could happen to my son. Pride and arrogance like that is dangerous and uncontrollable, and most of the time it'll get you killed in the slowest and most gruesomely painful ways possible. And yet, the boy is so cold and curt it's like looking in a mirror, it's horrid. I have failed you Homura, I have failed to raise him into a man you would be proud to call your son.
"I shall open them here Father, no point wasting time reading it in private only to read it again in your company." My son then proceeded to open his U.A. letter and began reading it aloud,
"Dear Katsu Sasaki, we are writing to inform you, you have successfully passed both the practical and written examinations. You scored 93% on your written examination, and placed 2nd on your practical exam. Your overall ranking out of all of the recommended applicants was 2nd place, with an overall score of 96.7 out of 100. Welcome to your hero academia. Signed, Nezu, principle of U.A. "
How intriguing, I was sure he'd place 1st but I have heard Endeavour's son was applying so that might be the reason.
"And the Shiketsu letter?" I pressed, eager to hear how my son had done at U.A. 's only true rival school. He picked up the letter, broke the seal and began reading.
"Dear Katsu Sasaki, this letter contains the results of your recommended applicants examinations results. Your overall score was 94.5 out of 100, which means, you have passed. We congratulate you on making it into Shiketsu. Your physical examination results: You placed 2nd with a total score of 91 points out of 100. Your written examination results: You placed 1st with a score of 98%. Your overall ranking is 1st place. We hope to see you at Shiketsu in the new semester. Signed, Nishinoya Kasumi, Principle of Shiketsu High School." He finished. I looked at him and xanthous eyes met my own gold ones.
"So, which will-"
"U.A." He cut me off. I gave him a look of annoyance. He just flicked his ebony black hair out of his eyes that bore into my soul, empty and emotionless.
"Why?" While the question was simple, I didn't know how much his answer would truly mean to him. He flicked his hair from his eyes once more and huffed.
"I wish to be the greatest hero to ever walk this earth. All Might is the only one to surpass if I want to reach that goal, and All Might went to U.A. Therefore, to beat him, I must have the same education as him." At that moment I thought he was truly like me and was just as much an All Might fan as I was, but I missed the look of pure loathing in his eyes as he spoke of All Might, and that would truly be my biggest mistake of all.

"Where is this bloody classroom? Seriously, they need a tour guide for this place, or a map at the very least." Katsu muttered.
After 30 seconds more of walking around, attracting a few stares from his now upperclassmen, whether good or bad we shall never know, he found a massive door with 1-A printed on the front. Katsu pushed the door open and walked in to find a 3/4 full classroom. Glancing down at his watch Katsu saw there was still 15 minutes until the class began, he wasn't late. As he entered, Katsu's ears were instantly assaulted by the shouting of two of his new classmates.
"Take your feet off the desk!"
"Huh"
"Don't you think that's disrespectful to U.A.!? To our upperclassmen?! AND the people who made this desk!?" Cried a robotic looking guy with dark blue hair and glasses with indignation. Perfect. A bunch of whining bitches. Katsu thought as he looked at the blue haired boy. He was somewhat tall, rectangular glasses, and had a robotic nerd vibe.
"Ha! Nope! What junior high did you even go to, extra?" said a boy with pale blonde spiked hair smugly.
"I attended Somei Private Academy," Ah shit, former classmate. Katsu internally screamed as the bespectacled boy continued, "My name is Tenya Iida." The now named Iida introduced himself to the angry blondeshell, both puns intended.
The blonde snorted before saying, "Somei? So you're some kind of fucking elite, huh? I'm gonna have fun stomping you into the ground." At this point Katsu had gotten bored of their arguing and stepped in to have his own fun.
"Hey, four eyes. I see you didn't get in on recommendation, but that's somewhat expected since you're from a family of second rate heroes. After all, to get on a recommendation you need actual skills, right? Oh wait, you wouldn't know! Haha. Ah," Katsu pretended to wipe a tear from his eye, "And you, you must be one of the losers that needed to get through the normal exam, right? After all, I didn't see you at the recommended applicants tests." So instead of helping the situation, Katsu made things worse, not good.
"I'm Katsuki Bakugo and I'm GONNA KICK YOUR ASS!" Bokugo yelled, jumping up from his chair and charging at Katsu as Iida frantically waved his arm. At this point in time, they had gained the attention of the entire class. As Bakugo continued his charge, Katsu stood there calmly. Time slowed, just as Bakugo was about to blast him Katsu raised his hand and it began to glow red as he activated his quirk. Everyone had stopped to watch what would happen next but nothing did. Bokugo stopped out of shock and looked from Katsu's smug smirk to his hand. Bokugo's wrist had been twisted to the point of breaking by Katsu's left hand whilst Katsu's right glowed red and a few more observant people in the class noticed tendrils of orange, presumably lingerings of Bokugo's quirk, being sucked into the light.
Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed the chapter. I have written about 3 chapters ahead so I can go for a goal of releasing a chapter once a week. Until next time, ciao!
Ps. Katsu will be an asshole for the next few chapters, he'll grow out of it eventually. Woo! Character growth am I right?
PPs. I watched the Melbourne Cup whilst this was edited and there was a horse, Katsu, that I bet on to win, and god damn it Katsu you lost me $20. Seriously, I had high hopes for Katsu but no, the jockey wasn't pushing Katsu enough, I expect a French bred filly to do better than 5th freaking place.
