AN: I thought I could make a little one-shot to introduce a new OC named Robyn Polska. I hope you all enjoy
White and Brown
PAW Patrol Oneshot
It was just another day in Adventure City, with the leaves turning color as a sign of winter coming. After the failure of Mayor Humdinger, an emergency election was held, and Mr. Zanavich was elected the new mayor. This man is a very successful businessman who grew up in the city and knows how people want the city to go. Morgan Zanavich reversed everything Mayor Humdinger did and even funded the PAW Patrol more. He also started new police, fire, waste management, beach rescue, and construction departments.
Of course, this took over several years. Mr. Zanavich was re-elected and is in his sixth year in office. The PAW Patrol supported him, asking them to run the new departments. Ryder would now be 16 years old, and he would be the Chief department head for a young man such as himself. He reports directly to the mayor about what is going on and the departments under him.
Chase would be the Chief of Police. He would have complete autonomy with the permission of Ryder and the mayor. With his power, he would have made subdivisions. Adventure City SWAT (AC SWAT), Adventure Bureau of Investigation (ABI), Patrol Division (PD), and even a few helicopter pilots for the two helicopters the department acquired, which were two modified Blackhawk helicopters with new cameras to track, winches, and spotlights. All of them would have their rank structure and connections under Adventure City Police Department (ACPD) as much as he had been funded and the amount of crime that has been stopped. However, being a prominent city means there are still thugs and gangs that try to spread the department thin. Police precincts would be uptown, downtown, and crosstown. The headquarters would be at the new police station next door to PAW Patrol headquarters.
Marshall would be the Fire Chief and have six fire stations throughout the city. The Fire Department would be set up in two different divisions. You have your day-to-day Fire Rescue that puts out fires, responds to car accidents, and just basic simple rescues. Having purchased four MH-65 Dolphin Helicopters for their search and rescue division that is used and works with the police when someone goes missing, or if there is a vast rescue operation that needs both the police and fire departments working together. Skye would have joined Marshall as the lead pilot in her new Dolphin helicopter and is the first in the air.
Rocky would be in charge of the waste management system of the city. He has built a recycling plant at the edge of the city. Rocky also made a dump that uses a new technology that vaporizes trash without producing carbon dioxide while producing power. He is trying to get his invention sent around the world to help destroy trash and energy production.
Zuma would be the head of the lifeguards and beach rescue. In a way, they are a subdivision of the fire department because they use the dolphin helicopters when needed. They can also handle themselves and allow the fire department not to be stretched out. Marshall sure does love the extra help when he needs it from Zuma if a rescue has to do with water. Liberty would help Zuma out here and there, and the two of them would make a great duo regarding rescues on the river.
Finally, Rubble would be the head of the public service, where they get reports of potholes, road damage, building damage, etc. He and his department go around and fix all sorts of things. After the police or fire have a rescue or crime scene, Rubble and his teams are the clean-up crews, making it look like nothing ever happened. They are so good at their job that they have been awarded the city's appreciation award more than any other department.
With all the now grown-up canines, the PAW Patrol still meets and even lives at the headquarters. They are always on call no matter the time of day if needed. Otherwise, they are hanging out or on walks through the city, enjoying the view and how Adventure City is one of the cleanest cities in the world. There are still the slums and gang turf that Chase has been in constant war with, but most of the city is safe. Being in charge of Adventure City's most essential departments, the PAW Patrol still finds time to chill and relax. Their departments are more than capable of handling themselves, and the canines don't need to micromanage everything.
Their budgets are enormous thanks to Mr. Zanavich redirecting funds to schools, rescue, and safety and funding more projects that, in the end, will produce more money and space for the city. With such huge budgets, the departments can be fully staffed with several benefits, such as paid training, schooling, healthcare on and off work, family help, etc. Recruiting isn't that hard, with the canines pitching in and saying that new employees will be helped by themselves, and everyone wants a chance to meet with them due to them not being in the public eye as much as they used to. There are bigger fish to fry, which starts with them possibly wanting to create their own families.
Town Square
1400
It was a lovely afternoon in the city, and everyone enjoyed the fall weather. The PAW Patrol in question was out and about doing their things. Zuma would be at the beach with Liberty. Both of them would not be on duty but enjoying the waves. Rocky and Rubble would be a recycling plant, ensuring it was running smoothly because recently, someone tried to sabotage it but was unsuccessful. Marshall fell asleep at headquarters after a midnight car accident on the highway. Skye would be flying around, enjoying her time in the sky. All the while, Chase would be walking on the streets, not on duty. Just a fine day to clear his head, and he realized the city was not that bad. However, he would much rather live in the woods or something like in the past back in Adventure Bay. Hopefully, they are doing alright over there without the PAW Patrol anymore.
But that is another story for another time. The now adult german shepherd would finally make it to Town Square. Being off duty made it easier not to get noticed, for he only wore his collar and nothing else. He watched as young kids and pups played around while their parents were nearby. Orange, red, and yellow leaves would be everywhere as small gusts of wind would blow them in little tornados, knocking more off the nearby trees. Chase would sit on a bench enjoying the view of the happy civilians going on about their day. He would smile and then start looking around. He would begin to notice the couples around him. Two humans man and a woman would walk past with two little kids at their feet. He would look over and see a yellow labrador retriever with a golden retriever not too much older than himself with two pups of their own as they nuzzle each other. The pups would jump on their parents and mess around, and the parents would laugh.
Chase would see similar scenes play out as he continues to watch the square. He would start to get this feeling of love but also loneliness. He's always seen the others of PAW Patrol as his family, but they treated each other more like siblings than possible love interests. Don't get him wrong, he loves his family but seeing all these happy couples makes him think. What if he were to find a possible love interest and maybe have a family? Would he be as happy as he sees all these other couples?
Long story short, he tried that, but it didn't work out. He thought he had found somebody, but it only turns out they were a crazy bitch who only loved him for his position and not his character. He broke up with her because she was trying to get a favor from him to let a few of her friends go from jail who were there for murder. Right then, he kicked her out of his life and never wanted to see her again. The next time he did, she was behind bars, for she was caught in relation with one of the gangs in the slums of the city. She was their intell, but Chase stood firm and never told her much when they were dating.
Since then, he has been wary about getting back into the dating game. He doesn't want to be taken advantage of or loved because of his position. He wants to experience true love, not fake or manufactured love. Yes, other female canines go nuts over him for his status and good looks. Skye and Liberty told him that he was one if not the best looking German Shepherd for miles, if not in the entire city. He loves to work out and eat healthily, and it pays off, but he doesn't want one-night stands. He wants something that will last well into his life.
When it comes to his type, he is not into smaller dogs. No, so he would prefer other dogs like himself if he wants to get specific other shepherds: Swiss Shepherds, German Shepherds, Dutch Shepherds, or even Belgian Malinois. The reason for that is that he wants to have someone who has the same energy as him and would like to go on walks, hikes and have a good personality and not sit around and do nothing. However, it is all about one's character to him.
He would spot a white-furred canine from the corner of his eye. They would be struggling with a map of the city. Soon enough, the map would be blown out of their paws and take flight towards him on the bench. Being kind-hearted and always wanting to help, Chase would jump off the bench and catch the map in his jaws. He would ensure not to soak it with his saliva and put it on the ground.
"Dziękuję. Dziękuję. Dziękuję!" the white canine said in Polish as they came running over, "Oh, sorry. Thank you," She would correct herself in English, but she would have what Chase would say a cute accent.
He would then look up to the canine he now identified as a female White German Shepherd. She would have a backpack and a tube that would come out of the straps. It was a camelback from seeing that. Her eyes would be an icy blue while her whole body was a pure white like the color of Stormtrooper Armor from Star Wars. She would have a red collar with what looked to be a badge in the shape of a diamond with black for most while also having a red dot in the top middle. She would look to be all alone and not have any humans. Dogs have become a bit more independent over the years and only really want to say with humans if they really want to. Now they have a choice. He also noticed that she was close in age to him as she was the same size as him. However, he would never know if he didn't ask, which would also be very awkward if he did.
"No problem, ma'am," He would state, "You lost or having trouble?"
"Tak. " She would then look down again, embarrassed, "Sorry. English not so good."
Chase would want to make it easy for her. Thankfully, he has taken Spanish, German, Russian, and Polish classes sometimes. So he would offer, "Would it be better to speak another language?"
"You can?" She would inquire.
Chase would nod and then say in German, "Ja. Also, wohin musst du gehen? (Yes. Now, where do you need to go?)."
Her face would light up, and an appreciating smile would form on her face. She knew German much better than English, "Danke. Äh. Ich weiß nicht. Ich erkunde nur mein neues Zuhause, denke ich. (Thank you. Uh. I don't know. Just exploring my new home, I guess.)."
"Oh. Wenn das der Fall ist, dann lass es mich dir zeigen. Ich kenne die Stadt wie meine Westentasche. (Oh. Well, if that is the case, then let me show you around. I know the city like the top of my paw.)." Chase would respond.
"Echt? Würdest du das tun? (Really? You would do that?)." She was surprised by his immediate kindness and willingness to show her around.
"Natürlich. Ich zeige dir einige der besten Spots. Ich kann die Stadt an einem Tag nicht sehen. (Of course. I'll show you some of the best spots. Can't see the city in a day, though.)." Chase would tell her.
"Bist du sicher, dass du nicht beschäftigt bist? Ich würde es hassen, dir die Zeit zu nehmen. (Are you sure you aren't busy? I would hate to take your time away.)." She would ask him, tilting her head as she looked back at him. Something in those eyes made Chase get butterflies in his stomach.
"Ja. Ich habe heute dienstfrei und habe sonst nicht viel zu tun. (Yeah. I'm off duty today and have nothing else to do.)." Chase would tell her that he would look straight into his soul after being dazed by her eyes. "Maybe work on your English as well. You will have to know that if you are to survive in this place. Also, I'm Chase, by the way."
She nodded and said, "I am Robyn. Robyn Polska," then she joined him at his flank. From there, he would show her around and tell her about each building. If there were a remnant of rescues, he would tell her about it.
"That's where the last mayor tried to make a loop for the subway. We haven't been able to fix it fully, but we were able to remove it from the system. So many people could have died," Chase would explain as he pointed out old holes from the support beams in the concrete. Some purple rails would still be lying around from the deconstruction.
"He what? That sounds terrible," Robyn would say, trying to use her English.
"It was a bad idea. Fortunately, we, the PAW Patrol, arrived before one of the trains fell from the highest point," Chase would then have his ears pinned to the side of his head as he remembered when he couldn't bring himself to cross the gap.
Robyn would notice and ask, "Did something go wrong?"
"In a way, yeah. It was a while ago, and I was still a puppy. I didn't have a good experience with the city before then. I couldn't bring myself to save the people on the subway. I put the whole mission in jeopardy with my stupid fears," Chase explained. What shocked him was that he was willing to tell this to a person he had just met a few moments ago, "Sorry if I just overloaded you with that."
"No. Don't be. Everyone has fear. When I was in the Polish military, I had to do some things that I didn't want to do," Robyn would state, "Afghanistan was not a good place."
"You speak from military experience. I don't have that. I couldn't imagine being in a combat zone except for the times I have been in shootouts with gangs," Chase would explain.
"There is no shame in it. We have different experiences and fears. But it looks like you got over it now," Robyn would then ask, "You an officer?"
"Yeah, I'm the Chief of police of the city, and you're right. Makes sense," Chase would think of her words, and he couldn't deny that she was right. It has been a while since the rescue, and he has overcome his fear and risen from it.
Robyn's eyes would go ones of surprise, "Oh, sorry. I didn't realize. Sorry I didn't recognize you."
"What? Don't be. It makes it much easier to talk to someone when they don't know. But you asked, and I would have hated to lie to you," Chase would say, "It gets boring when people praise you and do not shut up."
"Oh well, I don't know much about you, so I wouldn't know what to say to praise you," she would joke.
Then Chase, seeing as she got into a joking mood, would poke at her English which is better than she thought, "You sure know a lot of English for someone who says they struggle with it." He would smirk at the end, "Let alone wise."
"OH! Uh!" She would be surprised by Chase's comment, and her eyes would go wide, pin her ears, and look away and down from Chase.
"So you were in the Polish military? What was that like," Chase said, wanting to learn more about her.
"Well, in Poland, we are required to serve a minimum of three years for canines. I did my time which I hoped would have been to stay home, but I was unlucky and sent to Afghanistan. Three years became five, and I finally got home and desired to move here to America," Robyn explained.
"Are you on a visa?" Chase asked, "Or am I going to have to deport you."
She would chuckle and say, "I have a visa but want to become a citizen. Currently, the company Atlas Weapons and Associated Technology (AWAT) secured my visa, and I work in their civilian research and development division. Can't say much, but we are working on some exciting things for the near future."
"Wait, you work for AWAT!?" Chase was honestly surprised.
"Yeah, they saw my credentials and gave me an offer I couldn't refuse. They covered everything from my visa, health care, housing, and English classes. It has been a challenge to adjust to American life, but I have been managing," Robyn would explain.
"How did you get the credentials to work for AWAT?" Chase asked.
"Before I was deployed, I used the military benefits and went to a two-year engineering college where I got an equivalent to a master's degree. I was at the top of my class, and Poland offered to put me in research and development for the military. Still, AWAT was way more appealing, and I wanted to eventually move to America," Robyn explained in perfect English but still with her beautiful Polish accent.
"Seems like you accomplished a lot more than I ever did. I have been in the PAW Patrol my whole life and now the chief of police in Adventure City," Chase said, downplaying his accomplishments.
"Don't downplay yourself. If you think about it, you and your friends have pioneered things for all canines. You have grown in your life and have found new and great ways to keep people safe, and all of you are considered heroes daily," Robyn would explain, giving Chase more confidence in his own abilities, "Don't be jealous of another's accomplishments. We all have different experiences and are experts in our fields. I am the supervisor of my division, and I am proud of that. You are the chief of police and have kept your city safe and secure in creative ways."
Chase would look at her as she looked at him, "You sure know a lot. You are very wise."
"Oh. I speak my mind, I guess," Robyn would say, trying to play it off.
"If that is how you put it, sure," Chase would say, smirking.
After a while, Chase would have shown her to Humdinger Hights, which was appropriately renamed, Chaos Hall.
"Mr. Zanavich renamed it to Chaos Hall?" Robyn would ask, struggling to pronounce chaos.
Chase would chuckle at her try but then say, "Yes. He said that day reminded him of the chaos that happens when someone doesn't do their job in the military. He's made that very clear, and Mr. Humdinger will not be coming out of jail anytime soon."
"My goodness," Robyn exclaimed.
"Yeah, that was rough back then," Chase said as he looked at the building, "But that all was a while ago, and we have all moved on and repaired the damage. At least most of the damage." He would then point out the destroyed part of the building when Humdinger's tower collapsed. It has since been stabilized and left alone as a reminder of what idiocy could cause.
"Mr. Zanavich has interesting ways of public humiliation," Robyn would inquire.
"I applaud the man, for the jail wasn't enough for Humdinger. This public humiliation that has been made will ruin him when he gets out. Nobody will trust Humdinger to run anything for the rest of his life. However, that snake will probably find some way to get revenge and end up in federal prison. Mark my words," Chase explained.
"He sounds like he is trouble," Robyn would add.
"He's a psychopath, is what he is. Along with his kitten who now are also in a cell," Chase would have a hint of anger in his voice, but then he would calm down, "Anyway, it's getting late, and I need to return to PAW HQ."
"Oh, right. Of course, but could you guide me back to my apartment, please," Robyn would ask, a bit embarrassed.
"Sure," Chase would reply, "What's your address?"
"Apartment Suite 702, 9056 Rescue Way," Robyn would answer.
"You're kidding, right?" Chase would look at her with a smirk.
"What?" She would be confused.
"PAW HQ is a block away from you. We'll go back home together, and I will drop you off," Chase said as he turned to get that direction.
"Oh," Robyn would follow close behind.
Rescue Way (Near PAW Patrol HQ)

Chase and Robyn would have made their way to Robyn's apartment. When they arrived at the building, Chase would walk her in and take her to her suite. She would take off her backpack and set it to the side next to the door.
"Well, I enjoyed the time we had together. Thank you for showing me around the city," Robyn would thank Chase.
"It was nothing. I enjoyed it too. Also, don't think your English is bad. It was just fine and fluent," Chase would agree.
Robyn would blush a red that would be noticed from her pearl white fur, "Oh, well. Thank you. Um? Maybe we can do this again sometime? Maybe go out for a drink and talk."
"I would like that. When would a good time be for you?" Chase said, nodding his head, wanting to spend more time with this gorgeous white German Shepherd.
Robyn would smile and say, "Hmm. Tomorrow afternoon I will be free. My work schedule is all in the morning. So same time right here?
"Sure. I am not too far away," Chase reasoned, "I'll come over to your place. Here's my contact number." Chase would then write down his dog tag number on paper. Robyn would immediately put his number into her contacts list on her dog tag and test calls him, giving him her number.
"Great, thank you. I'll see you then," Robyn said, walking him to the door.
"Will do," Chase would then leave and close the door behind him.
Robyn would lock the door and then sit against it, deep sighing, "What a gentleman. Whoever has him as a boyfriend is one lucky dog."
She would then go to her apartment's bathroom and start cleaning herself up. She would think about Chase constantly but then say, "He needs to find someone else. I can't possibly be in his league."
She would finish her bath and would get ready for bed. Her white fur would sparkle and smell like a pine forest. She would get to her large bed and would get ready to sleep. Except she would hear a window shadder
PAW Patrol HQ
Time: 18:00
Chase would have arrived back at the headquarters. It took a bit longer because he stopped on the side of the road just thinking about the adventure he had had today with such a beautiful canine. He would daydream about her back to his home.
When he finally entered, he was greeted by an angry Skye, whose face looked like she wanted to kill him. Then, before he could ask and without warning, Skye would sucker punched him in the muzzle, and then as he turned to recover from the punch, she kicked him right in the groin and his male area.
He would do what every male does when hit there and would finch and whimper in pain, trying not to vomit. Skye would then march away in a huff, satisfied with what she just did. At the same time, Chase was left in pain and confusion.
Once Skye was gone, Marshall came up to Chase to see if he was ok. "No, I'm not ok. I just got the wind knocked out of me and kicked… in the balls," the German Shepherd groaned in pain. He would also finally get oxygen back in his lungs and would start to breathe normally, but the pain of getting kicked in the balls still lingered and threatened to have him vomit at any moment.
Marshall would guide his friend to the vehicle bay to stay away from Skye. Once there, Chase would get feeling back from the sudden attack, but he was definitely a bit swollen in his area and hopefully not infertile from that. Once he could manage the pain, he would ask Marshall, "You have any idea what that was for?"
Marshall would shake his head and then respond, "I don't. She's been mad since she saw you with that other white German Shepherd that looked like you took home. By the way, who was she?"
"You're kidding, right? Skye is mad at me for talking to another female?" Chase dodged the last question.
"I guess, but who was she?" Marshall would ask again, trying to get to the bottom of the situation.
"Just a new friend I met this afternoon. She needed help getting around the city, so I showed her around. She's from Poland, and her name is Robyn Polska. She spells it with a 'y' instead of an 'i'."
"Oh," Marshall would be interested in Chase's new friend that he made, "What is she like?" He would try not to talk about Skye at the moment.
"Oh, you know. She was confused mostly about the big city. She was lost and was struggling to read the map she had. She speaks Polish, German, and English. She said she wasn't good, but she spoke perfectly fine after our conversation in German," Chase would explain, "I spent the rest of my afternoon and part of the evening showing her around."
"That's nice of you. But what happened when you went to her apartment just down the road?" Marshall would ask.
Chase would look at him weirdly and say, "Just walked her to her apartment. That's all. We talked some more, and she wants to hang out later tomorrow after she gets off work. What did-" Chase would then realize, "Oh, NO. No, we didn't do what she thinks we did. I just met her. Plus, I thought Skye was interested in you or Zuma."
"Well… Mostly Zuma, but she complained that you were acting too fast and needed to be taught a lesson," Marshall explained, "She kind of went off the hook when she saw you leave after thirty minutes and were all dreamy-eyed."
Chase would look at Marshall with a face that said, 'What the Hell,' "She's nice, pretty, and interesting, but way out of my league. What is Skye's plan now? She interested in me now?"
"After that, I wouldn't think so," Marshall inquired.
"Good because I know I'm not. Especially after being assaulted," Chase would then groan in pain again, looking at his area and seeing that his balls were swollen. "Good Lord, this is so embarrassing. Got any pain meds?"
"Yeah, just over here," Marshall would answer and guide Chase to his medical area of the vehicle, where he usually resupplies his truck with medical supplies. He would get out some Asprin. "Here you go, Chase."
"Thanks, Marshall," Chase said as he took the medication. The swelling would go down within a few moments, and the drug would neutralize his pain. "Hope it doesn't swell up tomorrow when I am out with her. That would be extremely embarrassing."
"No kidding, I'm sorry Skye did that," Marshall would apologize.
"It's not your fault. It's no one's fault but hers," Chase responded.
"Well, we saw her hostility and did nothing to stop her after the first punch," Marshall pleaded.
"We were all shocked. She's never really been aggressive," Chase countered.
"You're right. But I'll talk with her now. If you are alright for the rest of the night," Marshall would offer.
"Sure, I'll just be in my room, trying to figure out how to deal with this and make sure I can still have pups of my own," Chase would joke.
"I hope you can," Marshall would smile and then leave Chase to his own devices. Chase would then go to his room and lie on his bed. After doing that for a minute or so, he would take a shower and clean up.
After that, he would pull out one of his weapons, a DT SRS A2 Covert Bolt Action Bullpup sniper rifle, and start to clean it to try and get his mind off what happened with Skye. Sadly that didn't work when she heard a pounding at his door like the FBI was trying to break in. He would thank himself for locking the door earlier and also hear the voices of Skye, Marshall, Zuma, and even Rocky on the other side.
Skye was screaming like a banshee about why Chase couldn't have a girlfriend because the last he did, he was extorted and probed for information. Marshall and the others would be defending their older brother in everything but blood. Marshall went as far as saying that Chase had just met her today, that her name was Robyn Polska, and that she was from Poland.
All that did somehow enrage the cockapoo even more, and she slammed herself against Chase's door, trying to either break it or get him to come out. In response, Chase would put together his weapon and then grab his Glock 18 pistol and load it. He would also hold his taser. He wouldn't dare open that door after the others told him over his dog tags not to.
On the other paw, Skye was becoming uncontrollable and would keep banging on the door some more and went as far as kicking Rocky in the face and balls, just like Chase. The German Shepherd would hear the mix cry out in pain, and Chase had enough. He would unlock the door and open it.
Skye would immediately try to tackle him, but he was faster with the taser and shot her right in the chest and tased her. The scary part was that she was so full of rage that it looked like it only pissed her off even more. Chase had no other choice but to defend himself and his family. He would tackle Skye to the ground, and she would try to kick him again in his area with her hind legs but missed as he was ready this time and got into a position where she could do nothing. Zuma would join him in pinning her to the ground while she kicked, screamed, and even tried to bite them. Zuma would be a bit overpowered, and Skye would get one of her paws free from him and use her claws to scratch Chase across his right eye. He would wince but stay on top of her while Zuma regained control of her paw. Marshall would get a sedative and then inject it into the savage Skye. She would finally pass out, and the males would regroup and talk about what had just happened.
"How the hell? She's never acted this way. I get her concern for you, but this is no way to show it," Zuma would say. His lisp would be gone thanks to age, so now he could pronounce 'r's.
"Check her food," Chase suggested.
"I'll check on Rocky and you, and she drew blood. Your face is bleeding," Marshall would say.
Chase would look into the mirror that was in the hallway and would see that Skye did draw blood from him by scratching at his right eye. She somehow got all four claws down and cut deep right across. Thankfully not deep enough to injure his eye, but blood was starting to drip into it.
Marshall treats Chase and Rocky to ensure they are alright, while Zuma goes to see why Skye became a bloodthirsty monster. He would return with a shocked expression and say, "Somehow, a night howler flower got into her food tonight. That's what made her go crazy."
"At least we know it wasn't her then. Just a flower," Chase concluded.
"I have the anti-toxin for it. Let me go get it before she wakes up," Marshall said, "You guys alright for now."
"I'm good, Marshall, thanks. Rocky?" Chase would assure his friend.
"Yeah… I'm good, just need a moment," Rocky would answer.
Marshall would then leave for a moment, return with another syringe, and inject Skye with the night howler anti-toxin. Almost instantly, she would start to wake up. When she finally woke up, she would see the scene and ask," Oh no, did I do this?"
The males would all nod, and Marshall would ask, "Do you remember what happened?"
"Partly," Skye admitted. Then the waterworks would start, "I'm sorry, guys. *gasp* I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to. *sob*."
"It's alright, Skye; we know it wasn't really you. You just got some bad flower in your food that made you do this," Chase would say to the cockapoo.
She would then notice Rocky on the floor trying to recover from being socked in the male area and would see the gash she caused on Chase. It only made her feel worse, and she would cry even more on Zuma's side, who was right there for her.
She would keep crying, making the males feel even worse about this situation. She had no control over herself, but luckily she didn't cause more damage. Rocky would head to his room to sleep while Marshall ensured everyone was okay, including Skye. Chase would forgive her even though it wasn't her fault but would do so anyway to try and help her calm down. She would keep sobbing, and Zuma would decide to take her to his room to not leave her alone for the night.
"Well, that was chaotic," Chase commented.
"Yeah, wish we knew sooner so we could have avoided all this," Marshall added.
"Yeah, well, life happens. I'm not pressing charges against her, and I don't think Rocky will, either. All just bad timing," Chase would say.
"This will all be forgotten by Christmas," Marshall would reassure.
"Hopefully. Well… Good night I guess," Chase would end.
"Yeah. Good night," Marshall would then turn to leave and head to his room. Chase would do the same, but as soon as he closed the door, his dog tag would go off.
"Chief Hunter, we have a code 45," said the officer on the other end.
"A kidnapping?" Chase would ask to verify.
"Yes, sir. Just down the street from your headquarters," the officer said.
Chase would go to the window and see many police cars at Robyn's building. Without thinking about her, he would get his gear on and rush out the door in his police cruiser.
XXX
Within seconds Chase would be at the scene of the Kidnapping. He would enter the location with officers giving him the right of way and investigators joining him by his flanks. The officer in command would show him to the same room where he had dropped Robyn off just a few hours before. His heart would drop, and then ask. "Who was it?"
"The neighbors said that a white German Shepherd, about your age, lives here. Her name is Robyn Polska. Her occupation is head engineer at Atlas Weapons and Associated Technology. She is from Poland. She is a very kind and sweet-hearted canine. The neighbors have said they wouldn't know who would want to dog nap such a canine," the responding officer said as they entered the apartment. One thing was for sure, she fought hard, for there were destroyed decorations and blood, and the place was just a mess.
Chase would enter the bedroom and nearly vomit for the second time that day, for it was much worse there. The bed sheets were soaked in blood, and a dropped firearm was what Chase would identify as a Sig Sauer P226 9mm pistol.
"Who's pistol is that?" Chase would ask.
"The serial number came back to Robyn Polska. She had the permits and was licensed to own it too. She tried to use it for self-defense but only got six rounds off. Most of which seemed to have hit her attacker, but they also had a weapon and shot her with an FN 5.7 pistol from our best observations and the 5.7 casings scattered about the place," the officer summed up.
"Do we have any clues as to who could have taken her?" Chase would question.
The officer would hesitate but then answer his boss, "Yes. A self-explanatory one."
Those very words shook Chase down to his core. He knew those words way too well. He knew exactly where to look and would look to the window where written either the dog napper's or Robyn's blood would be the symbol of the notorious gang in the city's industrial district that Chase has been fighting a never-ending war with. The Reverists.
"AWAT. Is not going to be happy with this," Chase said while saying to himself, "Why her of all canines?"
"AWAT will probably get involved whether we want them to or not. They will probably use their security forces to bolster us, for she is one of their top engineers. We know what happened last time when the Reverists took a simple employee. They nearly wiped them off the face of the earth," a detective said.
"If only they did. We wouldn't be here," said another officer.
"The fact of the matter is, we need to go and confront these basterds and make sure they get what is coming to them. AWAT's help will be greatly appreciated in getting Ms. Polska back safely," Chase would say, "Get SWAT ready, for we already know where they keep their prisoners. Plus, get the usual ransom money. We'll give it to them in exchange for Ms. Polska and then rid the world of a few more of them after she is safe."
"Yes, sir," the detective said.
"If it's one thing we know about these guys is that they never learn because their mistakes get them killed," Chase would finish. He would then leave the scene and head to the rally point, where he would meet up with SWAT.
Industrial District Adventure City.
The Reverists' Warehouse
Time: 23:50
Two gangsters would pull up to the warehouse and would carry a blood-stained, what should have been a white German Shepherd. The gangsters were two males—a rottweiler and a great dane all black in color and fur. The great Dane would have Robyn's neck scruff in his mouth, and he would be dragging her. They would enter the building and carry the nearly dead shepherd to a makeshift cell in the center of the vast open space. Other canines and humans would be walking around but not as many as before.
"You think this was a good idea? The last time we got one of AWAT's employees, they-" The dane would cut off after he threw Robyn into the cell and locked it.
"Just shut it," said the rottweiler.
"They massacred us the last time," the great dane said anyway.
"I said shut it," the rottweiler repeated while slapping the dane across the face.
"What were you thinking?" said a human dressed in all black and red clothing, "We have been losing the war against Chase and his police for some time now, and you thought it was a great idea to go dog nap and nearly kill a valuable engineer to AWAT!? THEY NEARLY WIPED US OUT LAST TIME! They will most definitely finish the job this time. If we don't get the hell out of here."
The human then sounded the alarm which would then alert the rest of the members in the warehouse that they needed to get out of dodge and leave as soon as possible. As they were leaving, they started to hear sirens from the all too familiar bearcat that was approaching with Adventure City's most capable operatives. The gang members would only hurry their escape, get into their cars, and drive away as fast as possible. All that was left in the warehouse was the rottweiler and a dying Robyn as she continued to lose blood.
The rottweiler would be too injured to escape, and no one wanted to help the guy who brought this down on them. He was the one shot by Robyn when they initially broke into her apartment. He would still have three gunshot wounds. One in his left foreleg, another in his chest armor, and the third one would have just grazed his side.
Just as he looked outside, he would see that Adventure City SWAT and police had already surrounded the building and most definitely one of their Blackhawks in the air with thermals. So very soon, they will barge in.
In an effort to use Robyn as a meat shield, he would start limping to her cell. He would get there just in the nick of time, pull a pistol on her, and point it at her skull with his claw on the trigger. He would have done this just as Chase and his SWAT team stormed the building.
With the warehouse open and no cover, they would start clearing the rest of the building while Chase and three other SWAT members held the rottweiler at gunpoint.
"The building is clear. He's the only one here!" shouted a team member to his boss.
Chase would nod and then start giving orders, "Drop the gun, sir. No one has to die today."
"Yeah, right. She will, and so will I. She has been losing blood for the past few hours. She may be already dead," he would say to mock the police.
Chase would try to keep a calm head, but after that remark, something just snapped. With pinpoint accuracy, Chase would fire at the canine and hit his paw, knocking the gun out. In quick succession, he would fire again, shooting the dog square in the head and killing him instantly.
With the threat neutralized, the SWAT team rushed and broke Robyn's cell door open. Chase would run in as well as a combat medic. They would start packing her wounds while Chase checked for a pulse.
"It's faint, but she is still alive. Get medics here now!" Chase ordered
"They are already moving in," responded the medic.
The last thing Robyn would see before she finally blacked out was Chase saving her.
Two Days Later
Adventure City Central Hospital
Time: 0636
Chase would have woken up just a couple of minutes ago. He would have been staying at the hospital to keep Robyn company even though he didn't need to. He had just met her and already cared too much for her.
He would be behind the glass of Robyn's room while the doctors went in to check on her. When the ambulance arrived, she was quickly rushed into surgery. Turns out she was shot about five times. All of the bullets thankfully didn't damage any major organs and they either went right through or logged in an easy spot to get. The bad news was the beating she took from her attackers. They beat the life out of her and caused lots of bruising all over her body.
As the doctors looked her over Chase would be thinking to himself. At this time Marshall would have made the effort to stop by to check on his friend. The Dalmation would arrive right next to Chase as he was thinking.
"How is she doing?" Marshall would ask.
Chase would snap out of his thoughts and then look to Marshall. Letting out a deep breath he would say, "She's alive. AWAT is beyond pissed and has proceeded to start hunting down the gang members. Anyway, she's doing ok, at least that is what the doctors are saying."
Marshall would nod and then look to the room seeing as the doctors finish up what they needed to do, "Ok. Isn't that illegal for AWAT to hunt them down?"
"More of a vigilantly. Makes my job as well as the mayor's job easier. I've seen the reports and AWATs teams are very methodical in how they do what they do. No collateral unlike what we do sometimes," Chase explained.
"Oh," Marshall would look back to Chase then ask, "How come you still here? You have been here for the past two days. I think she will be able to handle it on her own."
"I know, it's just… I don't know," Chase would sigh caving into his feelings. Something he rarely does, "I guess, I like her too much."
Marshall would be surprised and ask, "What do you mean?"
"I mean, I'm a sucker. She's pretty and kind and she gives me butterflies in my stomach. We spent the whole afternoon together and I showed her around town. She speaks Polish and German," Chase would shake his head trying to get rid of the thought but it was no use, "I enjoyed her company and I think she enjoyed mine as well. She wanted to meet right after work at the town square and continue getting to know each other."
"Sounds like you don't just like her," Marshall would smirk.
"Yeah, well. Maybe I do like her, but I've only talked to her once. I'm sure when we do speak again I'll lose interest," Chase said also trying to reassure himself.
Marshall would still smile and then look back at Robyn's room. She was there peacefully sleeping. She would have new bandages all over her and the monitors and IV quietly beeping and keeping her hydrated. Chase would also be looking at Robyn to see if anything is changing.
The head doctor would come up to Chase and ask, "You're the one who has been with her?"
"Yes, sir. I am," Chase would answer.
"What is your relationship with her? Does she have a family?" the doctor would further question.
"I'm a close friend of hers. Her family lives in Poland and can't make it over here," Chase would say.
The doctor would nod and then ask another question, "You here on their behalf?"
Chase would nod and say, "Yes I am, I have spoken with them and have kept them updated on her condition. How is she now?"
The doctor was satisfied with the chief of police's answer and would respond, "She is doing alright. Hopefully, she should wake up soon due to her brain having more activity now."
"Great, thank you," Chase would say and then head back into the room. Marshall would join him.
Once in the room, they would close the door and Marshall would ask, "Did you really contact her family?"
"Yeah, I did. Mostly her mother who is so kind and thankful," Chase would then tap his dog tag and say, "Call Rosa Polska."
His tag would respond with, "Calling Rosa Polska." The phone would start ringing.
Soon enough the phone would pick up and a female voice would ask, "Halo?"
"Frau Polska. Es ist wieder Chase. (Mrs. Polska. It's Chase again)." Chase would respond in German knowing she would know for he has talked to her before. Marshall would just look at him like he was an alien. The Dally never know that his brother could speak German.
"Oh, Chase. Schön von dir zu hören. Wie geht es Robyn? (Oh, Chase. Good to hear from you. How is Robyn?)." Mrs. Polska would ask over the phone.
"Es geht ihr jetzt viel besser. Die Ärzte sagen, dass sie heute irgendwann aufwachen würde. (She is doing much better now. The doctors say that she would wake up sometime today.)." Chase would answer.
"Oh, Danke, Herr. Segne deine Seele, dass du uns kontaktiert hast. Wir sind so dankbar, dass Sie sich bei uns gemeldet haben und sich um sie kümmern. (Oh, thank you, Lord. Bless your soul for contacting us. We are so grateful that you contacted us and are taking care of her.)." Mrs. Polska would say thanking Chase for being the only one who contacted them.
"Natürlich bin ich froh, dass sie eine Familie hat, die sich kümmert. (Of course, I'm glad she has a family that cares.)." Chase responded.
"Danke, dass Sie gute Nachrichten für uns erhalten haben. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, wieder mit ihr zu reden. (Thank you for getting good news for us. Can't wait to talk to her again.)." Mrs. Polska was so grateful for Chase and he knew it.
"Ich melde mich, sobald sie aufwacht. Keine Sorge. (I will contact you once she wakes up. Don't you worry.)." Chase said.
"Dann rede. (Talk then.)." Mrs. Polska said and then hung up.
Marshall would then say after Chase got off the phone, "You never said you spoke German."
"Now you know," Chase smiled back at his friend.
"Was that her mother?"
"Yes, I spoke to her father, Mr. Polski, yesterday."
"What was he like?" Marshall asked.
"Like a protective father, wanting to know why a male was looking after her. Once I told him that I was the chief of police and that I was taking time out of my day to stay with his daughter. He instantly became more friendly and started to ask things about me," Chase would then laugh.
"Sounds like her parents like you then," Marshall would join Chase's laughter.
"I guess," Chase would then calm down and turn on the TV in the room. He would change the channel to a movie. The movie in question was called "Zootopia."
Marshall would relax in a chair and watch the movie. He would then ask Chase, "Could you imagine walking on our hind legs like these animals?"
"No," Chase would answer, "I like being on four legs, I'm faster this way. It's why we also have humans."
"Just asking," Marshall would finish as he would continue watching the movie, while Chase would sit in another chair, right next to Robyn's bed.
Time: 1100
Chase would have finished a book while Marhsall would be on his fifth movie. The sound would be off and Marshall would just be watching the scenes play out with closed captions. He would do this to keep the room at a moderate volume for Robyn.
Just as Chase would close the book, the White German shepherd to his right would start to stir. Chase would look over and see that Robyn would be waking up. He would get off the chair and would go over to her side of the bed. He would put down the railing so he would balance on his hind legs and put his front paws on the bed.
As soon as he did that, Robyn's eyes would open slightly and she would start to adjust to her surroundings. Her brain would start to process but out of shock she would jolt awake and gasp for air for she thought she was still in danger.
"Hey, hey. Robyn. Relax," Chase would try and ease her nerves.
She would look over and see that it was the German Shepherd from yesterday, "Chase? What happened? Where am I? Ouch." She would be a bit panicked.
"Just calm down. You're safe, you are alright. Just relax," Chase would reassure her. "You were dog napped, shot, and imprisoned."
Marshall would trot over and say, "If it wasn't for Chase and his quick action, who knows what would have happened to you."
Chase would deadpan to Marshall and say, "Not helping Marshall."
Robyn would put a paw to her head and would try to remember, "All I remember is me firing my weapon but then getting shot myself. From there, everything is a blur. Am… am I in trouble?"
"No, you are ok. It was an obvious case of self-defense and you had every right to have that weapon," Chase reassured the white german shepherd.
"Well, I guess now AWAT is going to require all of their employees to buy weapons and have training courses. If not build their own security company," Robyn would sigh.
"Both seem like good ideas," Marshall would state.
Chase would think about it for a second and then say, "I wouldn't be opposed. As long as they stay within their lines of the fence."
"I'm sure they will," Robyn would say.
"Glad you are awake. Your parents were worried sick about you," Chase would change the subject.
"You… you called my parents?" Robyn would be surprised, "How did they take a male calling?"
"HA," Chase would laugh, "As well as you think they would. Once, they interrogated me, they got a bit more friendly. Probably mostly because I told them I am the Chief of Police. Have called them a couple of times while you were out and have been updating them on your condition."
Robyn would look into Chase's eyes and say, "Thank you."
Chase would pause for a moment seeing the connection but would respond, "Uh… Of course."
Marshall could tell, Chase had 100% fallen for this beautiful white German Shepherd who even he had to admit was cute.
One Month Later
Date: Wednesday, December 7th, 2022
Time: 17:00
It was much colder outside now. Winter has arrived and the first few flurries of snow have already happened. People would be getting ready for Christmas by decorating the city with all sorts of lights. Rocky and Rubble would be around helping set up the decorations for Christmas was their favorite holiday. Rocky liked it mostly for the get-togethers, while Rubble, being Rubble, liked it for the treats, candy, cookies, and all the other foods that the bakeries around the city make. Skye would be with Marshall, Zuma, and Liberty would be downtown shopping for Christmas presents at the local shops, a new tradition they like to do ever since they permanently moved to the city.
All the while, Chase would be at a city get-together at City Hall with Ryder and the Mayor. For once, not talking about work or politics but just having good friendly conversations with the officials of the city.
"Chase. Ryder. So glad you could make it," the mayor would say as he approached Ryder and Chase as they entered the building. He would be wearing a green suit with a white undershirt and a red tie. Many could say he is a man made for Christmas. Mostly thanks to his wife.
"Of course sir," Chase would reply.
"Always good to see you Mr. Zanavich," Ryder would also say.
Ryder would be wearing a mostly red sweater with the Grinch on it and white lettering saying, 'Your a Mean One Mr. Grinch.' Chase would be the opposite of Ryder and more like the mayor by wearing a nice dark blue suit with a Christmas-themed undershirt and Christmas bowtie. Being the Chief of Police he would be one of the few guests permitted to have a firearm and so he has his Glock 17 pistol in his jacket.
The mayor would then notice the female White German Shepherd on Chase's right side right next to him. She would be wearing a beautiful dress that she told Chase was made by her mother. It was a Christmas-themed Krakovian dress paw crafted with every stitch.
"My my, and who is this lovely lady?" the mayor would ask.
Chase would smile and answer, "Mr. Zanavich. This is Robyn Polska. Robyn, this is Morgan Zanavich, the mayor of Adventure City."
Morgan would nod in respect. Robyn would smile nicely, "An pleasure it is to meet you Mr. Zanavich," she would say with her Polish accent, "I've heard a lot about you."
"I'm sure you have, I have heard a lot of good things about you from Chase my brother at AWAT. You're the head civilian engineer aren't you?" Mr. Zanavich would inquire.
"I am," Robyn would smile. She liked this man already.
"What an accomplishment. I'm sure your family is proud," the mayor would say as he got back up.
"Thank you, sir. They are. It's a shame I can't spend this Christmas with them," Robyn would then look down in sadness.
"I'm sorry I can't help with that. But you can come and help yourself to any of the many treats we have here," the mayor would then show them to the ballroom, where there was a table full of freshly baked goods from all the local bakeries and what other people made themselves. The air was thick with the smell of peppermint, vanilla, chocolate, and cinnamon. There would be many Christmas trees as well as all sorts of other Christmas decorations that would be foreign to Robyn but not too far off from what she was used to.
Christmas songs would be playing in the background and in all, it would be a wonderful party. But Robyn would be a bit off. She, having lived in Poland most of her life and always celebrated in the Polish ways, would be missing her old traditions for this would be her first Christmas in America.
Chase would notice that Robyn would be uncomfortable in this environment only an hour later and would go ask her what is going on.
"You alright?" he would ask.
"Yeah, it's just different. In Poland, I always celebrate with friends and family. Sometimes even have some random person over. No one deserves to spend Christmas alone and we as tradition always have an extra seat at the table for anyone." She would start and then describe all the traditions she and her family would do every Christmas. From the 12 dishes of Polish Christmas that represent the 12 months of the coming year. Waiting for the first star to have Christmas Eve dinner. Talking with other animals, the oplatek wafer, and even the hay under the table representing Jesus's Manger and poverty. And finally ending with attending Pasterka it being the midnight mass for she was catholic and has been her whole life, "I guess it is just weird for me not doing this year. I want to become accustomed to American tradition but I can't really leave that one behind."
Chase would nod and be shocked at the number of things she would do during the Christmas season. He would then smile and say, "Well, America is a melting pot of many cultures. You don't have to leave any of them behind or change. No matter where you go in the nation there is always something different."
"Really?" Robyn would look into Chase's eyes.
"Of course. Don't let that stereotypical American get in your head. We, at least most of us, base our culture on many others. Yours sounds a whole lot more fun and full of activities that I really never thought of. We both go to Church and I'm sure the others would like to try how you celebrate Christmas. Especially when it involves food," Chase would explain softly.
"I know how to cook all the dishes if your friends are willing to help," Robyn would smile, "Thank you, Chase." She would then plant a kiss on the side of his muzzle. In doing so Chase would blush so hard he would be at a loss for words.
"Uh yeah. Sure. No problem," Chase nervously started.
Robyn would chuckle, "Oh mister cop, It's obvious you like me. But here is the real fun part." She would whisper in his ear, "I like you too, you dashingly handsome German Shepherd." Chase would start to sweat bullets as Robyn licked her lips, "You are kind, gentle, and an overall good dog. Plus, you did save my life a month ago."
Chase would then relax as he pushed his fears away and then said, "Well I guess that is one way of confessing to a love interest."
"Hmm. Why don't we go to my place for the rest of the night? Plan out everything and then bring it to your friends tomorrow," Robyn offered.
"Sure, but one thing first," He would point up with a paw. Robyn would look up and would see that there is a mistletoe right above them.
She would know exactly what that meant and welcomed Chase's kiss on her muzzle. They would keep it romantic and public-friendly but would kiss nonetheless.
Mr. Zanavich and Ryder would notice as Ryder looked over and saw his most trusted and by far the oldest of the team kiss the female he has been hanging out with for the past month. From what Ryder saw, the two of them were enjoying the moment and the spark of true love ignited in both their hearts right there and then.
AN: Yeah. Little was a bit of an understatement.
