Why would no one believe her? Yes, Freddy had been murdered less than a month ago, but no he wasn't truly gone.

What she meant by that wasn't what people thought. They all thought she had meant that he would never be forgotten. But that's not what she meant. When she had come out and said that Freddy was still around, what she was trying to say is that he was with her. That she could see him even though he was dead.

The first time it had happened was the day she had left the clinic. When she had gotten home that afternoon, her mum had sent her straight to bed, and had even called her older brother, Tony, home from college to look after her while she couldn't. As if she needed a baby sitter. Effy Stonem did not need anyone to look after her, she could take care of herself.

As comforting as it was to be able to talk to her beloved brother again, he could not fill the void in her heart. It was a void that whispered only one name. Freddy McClair. She had spent so much time grieving and missing him that she had barely noticed when visitors came and went that evening. First it was James Cook, or as referred to by those closest to him, Cookie. He had tried and failed to comfort her about losing Freddy. Next it was the twins Katie and Emily, both apologising for what went down when they had all gone camping. Finally it was Panda, though she left in a hurry after Effy snapped when she wouldn't shut up about Thomas.

After everything had calmed down, she received a visit from a guest that she didn't think was possible. She heard tapping on the window, however upon investigating, she saw no one. Turning around to get back into bed, she almost passed out in shock when she saw Freddy sat upright on her bed.

"Freddy...it can't be. This is impossible." She whispered, tears escaping her eyes as her heart pounded against her chest.

"It's me Ef. I swear." He said, looking her in the eye.

"B..but how?" She stammered, sitting on the bed quickly as her legs became weaker. She wasn't sure if she was dreaming or if it was really happening at that moment.
