New Words in Stone

A long time ago, in a dimension far, far away…there was a small desert planet in an unknown solar system. The current time was night as the moon was glowing in the sky, only a handful of stars were showing, and all there was on the ground was sand, bugs, and the wind. Plus…a bird.

On the sandy grounds was one bird, wearing a black cloak and suit, carrying a torch on one wing and a book and pen on the other. She looked as though she was heading nowhere, but took a good look at the sky on her journey, admiring the small stars, until finally reaching the end. She pressed her talon on one spot and noticed the sand moving. So she stopped and watched without any fear. The sand was moving down very fast, as if there was a sinkhole, all sinking down further and further until suddenly, all the sand in front of the bird was gone. Revealing a black stoned staircase that led to a large opened rectangular doorway. The bird looked unsurprised by the sight of it so she slowly walked down the stairs, still carrying her things as she passed the entrance and saw what she was journeying for. It was a massive dark room, but brightened up when the light of the torch reflected from all the pieces of crystal and glass on the walls, which allowed the bird to see everything. Words and pictures of other birds and past events were written on the walls, and it went on for miles.

The sight of it astonished the bird so much that she removed her hood and put the torch down before sitting on the floor with her book. She was a female (common) black hawk and the smile on her yellow beak was so beyond measure that she wanted to scream aloud. But decided to hold her excitement before grabbing her book and started writing into it.

Dear Journal,

My name is (Carla) Cenara. Today is the third day of Syncito, year 1268. On my planet, at least.

It's been almost two hundred and thirty two years since this place was out of commision and after so long, I found it. I finally found it! The Old Chamber of History. I am inside the very place where my kind and the people of this solar system used to come together to store every piece of history that was recorded.

Thousands of years ago, before I was born, twelve of the planets in the solar system each had a massive population of living birds, like they still do today. I am a native from one of those planets, Kuroime, where it was mostly made up of black hawks and peregrine falcons.

Back then, the people of my home planet each used to think that we were alone in the universe, believing there were no signs of life outside our world. Until time passed and they developed technology that allowed them to accomplish space travel, which helped them make contact with the locals from the other planets too.

From there, it created a new era, where an enormous friendship was established. We were all joined together and shared each other's knowledge of things, making life more fun as time went on. One of our only problems was wondering where to store our history. Each planet had collections of so many events, lessons, and things that would allow future generations to become smarter and wiser, but no one knew what would be the best place to put all the records and documents in. Until one day a thirteenth planet in our solar system was discovered, uninhabited, and seemed like the perfect place to use to collect everything. Everyone used it to store every piece of old records (including copies) that belong to each of the twelve planets, and for so long they always seemed to work.

Then, three hundred years after its foundation, they decided to suddenly forget about it when my great grandfather invented the "CerebroNet." A computer network that digitally stores over one trillion documents. This way, no one needed the chamber anymore or the need to physically write or copy new documents. You just write it on the computer and decide to either digitally publish it for everyone to see or store it where it can never be ruined, and the whole thing is connected to all the planets.

For a long time, everyone loved the CereboNet, including me. It was always high tech and convenient, but growing up, I felt like it was never as good as the oldest way of storing things. In fact…recently I discovered something. I was given an online school assignment to write a paper on any event in history that felt the most significant to me. And while searching, I discovered something that was significant to me, which was an article in the CerebroNet that talked about the Chamber of History, telling me only a few minor details. Plus, below it was information that talked about a special kind of bird. Through stories of legends, there have been a handful of birds in life that had this physical ability to see glimpses of the future, and what's so cool about it is that I'm one of those birds.

Since I was a kid, I've always had these funny visions of things that would occur. Neither have happened yet, and I've never told anyone in my life about it, but I have made records to some of them. Records that kids in the future will think of as bedtime stories, but will still be worth storing since I found those articles that prove what I am, and because of them, I've spent most of my adult years working. I've been working to build my own freighter and use it to secretly arrive on this planet and find one piece of history that everyone decided to throw away.

Now…since I found it, I guess it'll be mine for now, and I will have fun with it. Looking at all the past records and adding my records to it all.

"End entry." Said Carla as she finished writing in her book, and by doing that, she stood up and continued smiling. Then she took a deep breath before staring at the walls. The torch's light still reflected from all the crystals in the walls and it made the pictures on them so visible to Carla's eyes. So she walked forward, heading to the end of the room, where she expected to find all the things to read and learn from, and had a feeling in her heart. One that told her that she had a lot of stories to share with her friends, including with the stories that stuck to her mind. The legends of the future.

Notes & Disclaimers:

This was inspired by Rio, Blue Sky IP.

The Flying Stories are my property. I thought of it before I heard of "Super Rio."

• "Syncito": September.

Hey guys. Before I say anything else, did you read the newest chapter to "Another One"?

Well, if you did, then now you'll get to know about this: "My Entertainment." The chapter, which you just read, was a short story related to "Flying Legends." The series of canon/non-canon stories that are part of the franchise I made up called "Flight of the Loyal Youth," or "Fly Stories." Flying Legends works kind of the same way as "Star Wars Legends." Materials that's part of the one franchise, but not of the same continuity. Flying Legends/Stories is, of course, not real but still fun. Like the idea for this new series.

As it says in the opening summary, "For everyone that has made a 'non-fanfiction' story, have you ever thought about how it would look if characters from Rio, MLP, Sonic, and more, starred as your characters in those stories?" That's what this series is about.

Before and after I joined FFN, I've had tons of ideas for stories, "non-fanfiction" tales, and wanted them to be part of whatever company I'm able to make in the future.

As I've said before (perhaps repeatedly), my dream is to become a successful entrepreneur that develops a massive company of entertainment. Same as how Stan Lee and Walt Disney were. And fanfiction writing works as a way to start it up. Same as making pictures and trying to be a good icon on the internet.

Now for my non-fanfiction stories, I know I can simply try that for FictionPress, but I wanted to try this: I can use my stories by having the characters be played by characters that everyone's more familiar with. Including…

• "Carla", from the movie Rio, plays the character "Cenara" the Common Black Hawk.

Certain characters from Rio, My Little Pony, Sonic, and perhaps way more, will play the characters I made for my other stories. I'm doing that, since it might gain more readers this way. Plus, it might make the story making process for it much easier.

Though, not all my stories are original since they were inspired by others, and it's unlikely that I'm the only one who had this idea. But I hope you guys like them. Also, it may even work the same way as Flying Legends.

So anyway, I'm gonna repost the chapters I previously made for Flying Legends here. You guys will have to picture the characters being played by Rio characters, and know that eventually, I'll include more parodies. Enjoy.
