Heartbeat
Just a tiny little hurt/comfort drabble for the first day of November. The prompt word was "heartbeat." I hope you guys enjoy!

Frisk and Flowey had escaped the Underground, mostly whole and intact, but that didn't mean scars didn't remain, most of them those that couldn't physically be seen. They had more than their fair share of nightmares, and triggers that often brought on panic attacks.
While they had the support of Frisk's parents and their friends as well as their therapists, it was often each other they felt the safest and most comfortable with. When dark memories intruded, when nightmares left them sleepless, their greatest comfort came from holding each other. Flowey would curl around Frisk, his head resting against her chest, listening to her heartbeat as her fingers gently ran through his petals, both grounding herself and soothing him with the soft touch.
Frisk's heartbeat never failed to comfort Flowey, its pulse reassuringly strong and steady, a white noise that drowned out the chaos outside. It helped push away the memories of the far too many times in the Underground where he had held her body in his vines and heard that gentle beat stop.
It let him know she was with him, that she was whole and healthy and safe.
Hearing her strong heart helped him know that while things might be tough now, in time everything would be okay.
