Halloween Night with Carmen Sandiego
The normally abandoned looking house was full of life this Halloween night. The annual Halloween party of Carmen Sandiego was going on. All were invited as long as they came in costume. The host of the party was dressed as Morticia Addams, with a sparkly silver mask over her eyes, that had a single bejeweled red rose down the left side.
Most of those in attendance at this hour were her own henchmen. Two such henchmen, Sarah Nade who was dressed as a sexy female Beethoven, and Patty Larceny who was a simple little red riding hood were in charge of passing out candy to the trick or treaters. And they did get a surprising number, probably because the building just looked like a haunted house and there were clearly people inside in costume, so trick or treater brave enough to trudge up the long walk way and ring the bell was reworded with a full size candy bar.
Once the sun sank below the horizon was when other guests started to arrive. There were a few that tried showing up costume-less but they were denied entry obviously. This was a Halloween party not a hang out for sleaze balls. Yes those kind of people thought they could attend Carmen's party. She may have been a thief but she had standards, and was a stickler for following the rules, hence why non of her henchmen were aloud to carry lethal weapons, or aim anything like a shrink ray at people.
Not long after others started arriving a familiar trio showed up at the door. Carmen was closest and so opened the door for them. It was Lupin and his gang minus Fujiko, she and Carmen did not get along well. Goymon was dressed as a typical Japanese spirit simple, cute and quit fitting. Jigen was his go to werewolf but with out the full on fur sute this time. Carmen was a little disappointed. He had clip on ears a tail and some gloves that made it look like he had claws. And the leader of the group Lupin, was dressed as Gomez Addams. He had found out about Carmen's outfit in advance and chose his to match so he could flirt with her under the gauze of playing a character.
"Oh Tish how I missed you." He said as the other two walked past, Jigen to get a drink and Goemon something to eat. Carmen recoiled slightly.
**Oh god it's going to be one of those nights.** She thought before turning away and walking back inside.
"It's rude to linger in door ways dear." She replied as Lupin's eyes widened in delight that she was playing along. All night Lupin loitered around Carmen getting her drinks and glaring at any guy he deemed getting too close to her. Not like she couldn't take care of herself. Not all of Carmen's guest spoke English, or at least not very well even though they were in Fransisco. So Carmen would speak their preferred language if it put them more at ease. She she was talking with a few French lady's Gomez/Lupin put his plan into action.
"Oh Tish, Cara Mia, you know it drives me crazy when you speak French... again." Lupin said catching her off guard taking her hand and kissing up her arm as Gomez was known to do whenever his wife spoke French even if it was the tiniest of words. Surprisingly the woman did not pull away, most likely due to the long sleeves on the dress she was wearing. The two ladies giggled a bit and wandered off as Carmen stopped the sly thief before he could lay a kiss on her cheek or anywhere that wasn't covered really. The horny man looked sad when she stopped him but leaned in close and whispered something in French to him that brightened up his face.
Then there was another knock at the door and Carmen used that to excuse herself. It was no trick or treater but a tall man dressed as Sherlock Holmes. It was very clear who it was and Carmen smiled.
"Welcome Detective Holmes." She smiled letting him in. It was of course Inspector Zenigata, he knew Lupin and crew where there but had to wrangle up a costume before going. She may have been a thief but there would have been nothing to gain if he had just stormed in there with a couple dozen officers. If anything it would have made her mad, and Carmen was surprisingly intimidating when she wanted to be. Lupin got nervous and approached Carmen once more.
"Hey you know who that is right?"
"Do you take me for a fool? There are far more dangerous people here then him." She crossed her arms and she was not wrong. That seemed to placket him for the time being, but he and his friends were far more weary for the rest of the night, and the Gomez wannabe was kept at by.
Until the end of the party, with Lupin being instructed to wait till all were gone.
Surprisingly Zenigata didn't linger even though he had to be well aware of who Lupin was dressed as.
Happy Halloween!
Should I make it longer? Like anyone interested in reading about a more intimate relationship between Carmen and Lupin?
I really just wanted an excuse to have Carmen and Lupin dressed as Morticia and Gomez Addams.
