"You haven't done it yet?"

"No Mary, I'm not going to do it on the first day."

"Why not, you had the ring, and what seems like the best opportunity from what you've told me?"

"Well what if she says no, Mary she's not even out yet, and if she is going to say no then at least I can enjoy my time with her now, before we split up."

Neither of them knew that the sound in the boat's master bathroom, which was where this phone conversations was taking place on Kate's end, traveled fluently to Donti's kitchen where Sophie currently was making herself a grilled cheese sandwich cause after her fourth glass of dusk and sky, she got the munchies, and nothing on the bar's menu seemed as appealing as a grilled cheese.

When Sophie was content with the shade of brown the pieces of bread were, she turned the flame off and moved the pan over her plate, titled it until the sandwich fell onto her plate. Before cutting the grilled cheese diagonally, she turned back to the workstation, and moved her right hand over the stove upwards to the microwave, pushing the button labeled "vent fan" for the second time turning it off. That is when she heard Kate's voice on the phone clearly for the first time. "Before we split up" was the first thing she heard. 'Is Kate planning on breaking up with me? No, no that-that's stupid she wouldn't take me here, out here, if she was going to do that.'

"First of all, if things weren't going to work out between you two, it would've already ended, a while ago." Mary responded, Sophie wasn't able to hear her voice, only Kate's. "Secondly Kate if you don't think she's going to say yes, which she will by the way, because she is in the closet, why are you doing this now?"

"Because I need to, after all these years together, I need more, being secret girlfriends with her, it-it's just not enough anymore, and I don't think it has been for a while."

'Was that true' Sophie thought, the bread knife hovering over the sandwich. Like the rest of her, her right hand had been frozen since she started eavesdropping. 'When did this.. me.. Stop being enough for her? I seemed pretty enough for her yesterday when I was in my swimsuit on the deck. And very much enough for her when I was in my birthday suit in our room.'

"Kate, you do know that when she says yes it will still be a secret?" Mary paused, unsure if she should keep going, she wanted her sister to be happy, and she knew that Sophie made her happy. "Maybe this will push her to tell her parents but you both will still have to hide it when you're serving."

"I know, and I don't expect her to. It would be nice but I also know it probably won't happen." Kate sighed, taking a moment to stop pacing around the tilde floor, and looked up at her reflection, consumed by the look on her face betraying the emotions of worry she was trying desperately to pack away in little boxes.

"Kate, hello … are you still there?"

"Oh uhm yeah, yeah, I um … I'm still here." 'Who is she talking to? Is it another woman? Why was she talking about their relationship with them? Where is this noise coming from? Why did I come to the kitchen? Oh right the sandwich.' She replied to one of her own questions before finally cutting diagonally into the bread, and putting the knife on the counter next to her plate.

"Okay, you were explaining to me why it would be better to be secret fiances than secret girlfriends. And then you just stopped talking." Mary said, she genuinely wanted to know.

"I don't know, and I don't think it would be better. I don't know what the right word is but it's not that." She paused trying to find the right words "you know when you get a really good grade on a test, and there is this voice, this-this feeling, and you wanna hang it up on the fridge. Or-or when you were young and saw a commercial for a toy that you have never heard of until just then and you want that thing, you want it. Well for this I feel that pull and.. and I want this thing."

'What was this 'thing'? Was she not giving Kate this thing anymore, or ever? Was the girl she was speaking to giving her this 'thing'? What the hell was happening?'

"Okay well, call me back tomorrow night, or when you propose, whichever comes first."

"Got it, call you around 9-10ish tomorrow night"

"Alright I love you, bye"

"I love you too, bye bye"

'Who the fuck is this whore, telling her girlfriend she loves her. And what the hell is Kate doing telling someone else she loves her. It took her over a year of them being together to tell her that. How long has she known, and loved this mystery women?' It was all too much for Sophie's intoxicated brain to handle, so she ate the first half of her grilled cheese, and made her way out of the kitchen carrying the other half. She wouldn't confront Kate with what she heard, at least not yet, she needed to know more learn more, so she would wait until tomorrow night and at 9 o-clock she would make her way back into the kitchen and wait to try and hear something again. But for right now she didn't want to think about it anymore, it hurt her heart to think about it. She couldn't let it show, not tonight, and not tomorrow when they went to Mykonos. She didn't want to sleep in the same bed as Kate tonight, so she let herself drift off on one of the blue long reclining beach chairs that were on the deck.

Their first stop was at a cafe called Lalala, at 9am, it was improvised by Kate because she suspected the reason for Sophie's passive aggressive mood, and quite frankly condescending attitude, was from her having a hangover. Which she did, but coffee wouldn't cure the main reason. They both got coffee, Kate's black, Sophie's with a little bit of cream and sugar, Kate got a waffle, and Sophie had three pieces of french toast. The food took a while but when it got there they ate it fast, and were done with breakfast in less than an hour.

Sophie already knew that their next stop was the Armenistis Lighthouse, Kate told her that they were not aloud to drive up there, so before they ventured to the lighthouse the couple took a detour to a shop to buy boots. What Sophie didn't know and most certainly didn't expect was that they still would not be walking to the lighthouse, they would be horseback riding to the lighthouse.

Before they went to the lighthouse they both had to undergo brief training on how to ride a horse. Kate had do it a few times so it was all very simple to her, it was Sophie's first time so she took a bit longer, but she got it down eventually and after around 30 minutes they were off to the lighthouse.

After they were all done with the Armenistis Lighthouse the couple still had about another hour until they had to return with the horses, so Kate asked "do you wanna take these bad boys for a run on a beach near by?" As much as Sophie's mind was telling her she shouldn't let herself be wooed by Kate, that did sound picturesquely romantic.

"Given that the horses we're riding are name Daisy and April, I wouldn't exactly call them bad boys."

"Okay then, would you want to walk on a beach close to here, with these lovely ladies?"

"Yes, I would. But I'm not walking, April is."

After they returned the horses to their proper owners the couple went to their next stop the Rarity Gallery. It was beautiful, the next two stops were equally captivating, Ano Mera, and Panagia Paraportiani. The last place they visited in Mykonos was the Cine Manto Mykonos, to watch the film Stardust under the stars, ironic isn't it.
