A young Taylor Hebert and her parents find an unconscious young man who had washed up on the shores of Brockton Bay, with no memory of who he is except for a wallet with his ID. With nowhere to go, Taylors mother Annette suggests that they adopt the polite young man, changing their lives forever.

Your all also probably wondering why I'm back if I gave up on Fanfiction. Well the truth is that I did but I still get the urge to write something and my new passion as of late has been Worm by Wildbow. So that's why we are here and I would politely ask that you all refrain from posting any reviews asking about the Fics that I have given up on. Those being my Danmachi Crossover, Pokemon Story, and Akame Ga Kill story.

Just a note that this crossover is a mish mash of Kamen Rider ZO, Agito and Kuuga all put together. Kuuga is the form/armor I am using but the MC will have the powers of ZO, RX and Agito as well as a mish mash of other Kamen Riders. There most likely will not be anything past the year 2002 though, because I never really liked the Kamen Riders after that year, nor am I a big fan of the current generation of Kamen Riders. The sparkly colors and beep boop sound effects I'm not really a fan of. Although I get it, Toho needs to sell toys.

Smile 1.1

(Seven Years Before Canon Hebert Family)

A young girl around the age of eight skipped across the cement as her parents trailed behind her. They made sure to keep her within their range of vision at all times, while occasionally calling out to her.

"Taylor, don't go too far now!" Dan Hebert called out to his daughter who waved back with a smile. The older man was tall and thin, with dark hair that was on the verge of balding. His large green eyes seemed even larger behind his glasses.

"She must get her energy from you Annette." Dan told his wife who walked by his side holding his hand. She giggled while observing her daughter who had knelt down to pick something up on the sidewalk.

Annette was a tall, willowy woman with long and dark curly hair. Her thin lips, and wide expressive mouth were very similar to her daughters. Traits that Taylor seemed to have inherited from her mother.

While Brockton Bay was not the safest of cities, it did have its areas that were relatively peaceful. The Boardwalk, one of the main tourist destinations in their city, was considered to be the nicest part of the town.

The shops nearby sold clothing for over a thousand dollars, had fancy and expensive cages with ludicrously priced coffees. Along the beach were stretches of wooden walkways and beaches where the many tourists could get a great view of the ocean, and off in the distance one could see the Protectorate ENE Headquarters.

Today was a special occasion, their daughter had just turned ten years old. But Dan had also gotten a promotion at his job. He was now the head of hiring, and a spokesperson for the Union.

"Should we go buy Taylor a nice dress?" Annette asked as her husband hummed.

"Their very pricey tho-"

"Mom, Dad! There's a person in the water!" Taylor yelled from where she was about twenty feet away from the two. She immediately began running across the beach as Dan and Annette chased after her.

"Taylor, wait! It could be dangerous!" Dan yelled as he and his wife ran over running atop the sand of the beach.

"Oh my god Dan! I think that person is unconscious!" Annette yelled pointing out at the shore where Taylor stopped and began trying to pull said person out of the shore.

From what the older man could tell it was a young boy probably not much older than his own daughter. As he got his feet into the water he assured his daughter to leave it to him as he picked up the young man.

The young man in question had black hair, and tanned skin with asiatic features. He wore a simple yellow shirt, with brown pants and white sneakers.

"Dad, is he okay?" Taylor asked as he placed the young man down on the dry sand. It was at this moment he had noticed that his daughter had been crying.

Annette upon seeing this began to comfort her daughter as Dan checked the pulse of the young man. After a brief moment he had felt a small pulse indicating that the young boy was still alive much to his own relief. It was at this moment that some pedestrians had begun to gather wondering about the commotion.

"He's alive, but we should call an ambulance." Dan told his family as he pulled out his cell phone. His daughter wiped away tears, calming down and staring at the young man in worry.

"Honey, you should check his pockets for any kind of ID." Annette said as Dan nodded rummaging through the pockets of the young man trying to find any form of identification.

"This is Emergency Services. How may I help you?"

"My name is Dan Hebert. I'm at the beach by the Boardwalk. We have an unconscious young man here who washed ashore." He replied while taking out what seemed to be a golden pocket watch of some kind. Opening it he saw a name and date on the inside of the fancy looking pocket watch.

Yusuke Godai March 18, 1993

Dan Hebert read the name of the young man to himself. He sighed inwardly, their family outing had just gotten very complicated.

(Yusuke Godai POV)

I could feel my body floating about in the vastness of the void that surrounded me. The only thing visible within the pitch black darkness was my own body. It was faint but there was a glow around me made of chromatic colors.

The darkness did not feel oppressive, instead it felt comforting as if it was there to guide me. Was the darkness not something feared by mankind since the dawn of time? It should have been, yet here, it embraced me.

I could not move of my own accord, I could not speak, nor could I recall anything else about my life other than a name. A name that my mind whispered to me quietly, Yusuke Godai was that who I was? The name for some reason I found comfort in it, a name that should protect the smiles of other people.

I did not know why I had known that, just that the reason for that name came to my mind. As my body slowly traveled through the abyss, off in the distance a chromatic light came into view and slowly began to fill the void causing the shadows to slowly pull back not in recoil but in acceptance.

A huge humanoid figure stood before me. I couldn't make out all of the features of the being as it stood there staring at me. It was covered in some kind of armor, something I noticed by seeing the spiked shoulder pads, and spikes on its legs. Lines of golden energy covered in black outlines raced throughout the body.

I noticed movement as it began to move its right hand, the palm facing up as chromatic energy began to swirl within the palm that moved in my direction. Tendrils of energy reached out for me one of black, red, blue, green and purple.

There was no fear, for I had nothing that could hurt me here. I did not understand why I felt that way. Upon the embrace of the chromatic energy I was filled with an indescribable warmth that resonated from deep within me.

What is this?

The energy then erupted covering my vision in a bright light that filled the entirety of the void.

I slowly came to consciousness, my eyes still closed as the first thing that assaulted me was the smell of where I was. Antiseptic filled the air alongside the various smells of questionable food that smelled like processed meat, or burritos and burgers bought from a vending machine.

I could smell the scent of flowers of multiple different kinds ranging from roses, lilies, orchids, daffodils. However the scent of flowers and artificial fragrance could do nothing as the smell of waste, and death assaulted my nose causing me to scrunch my nose.

Next came the sounds, squeaky wheelchairs, the typing on keyboards, doors sliding open and shut. Painful cries and moans, doctors and nurses I assume talked in low voices with what I assume to be family members of patients.

A constant but low beep was heard next to me, as well as the drip of what I assumed to be an IV bag.

Slowly as I opened my eyes, squinting in an attempt to focus my blurry vision as it adjusted to the low light. I was in the middle of a typical blue and white hospital room, hooked up to a few machines that monitored my vitals.

"Oh! You're awake." I turned towards the owner of the voice, a girl probably a couple years younger than me. She had long dark hair, wore glasses and had a look of relief on her face.

"Who are you?"

"My name is Taylor! I found you at the beach with my Mom and Dad." She explained as I took a moment to process the information. My mind was blank, I didn't remember anything still.

"Oh! But we found this on you, here It's yours. I think it's broken though, my Dad said that the song won't play but we think your name is on the inside of this." She handed me a gorgeous golden pocket watch that I immediately opened as if I had done so thousands of times before.

"Yusuke Godai, March 18th 1993." I read the name and date and instantly felt a connection to it as if it was the only thing that made sense at the moment. I could feel Taylor's eyes on me as I reached for the knob on the side reaching the end I could feel the knob begin to turn.

But instead of music nothing but silence greeted me. I didn't know why, but there was a pang in my heart as I confirmed that it was indeed broken. I could feel the disappointment but also sadness coming from Taylor.

Well we can't have that now can we?

I closed my eyes and closed my hand around the pocket watch. It was almost like an instinct, something that happened without me consciously doing it. I felt the world come to a stop, as if everything in the world was put on pause.

When I opened my eyes I slowly released my hold on the pocket watch, music suddenly filled the room.

"Woah." Off to the side I saw Taylor widen her eyes listening to the beautiful melody coming from the pocket watch. As we lock eyes I give her a bright smile that she returned.

"So you got it to work?" The voice of an older male, I looked up and saw a man who seemed to be in his thirties. He assumed that this man was the young girl's father.

A woman around the same age stepped into the room after the man. She was most likely Taylor's mother, I could see the similarities in their hair, shape of their eyes and mouth.

"Oh, you're awake, are you okay? Do you feel hurt anywhere?" A warm worrying expression covered the woman's face as she came closer.

"Ah, no but I wanted to thank you for helping me. I don't really remember anything but Taylor told me that I'm here because your family found me. I am indebted to you two and your daughter." I bowed from my position having sat up earlier, for some odd reason the words just came out of my mouth. It felt as if this was the right way to act when thanking people.

The older man let out a laugh and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry about that young man, we only did what anyone would. My name is Danny Hebert but you can call me Dan. This is my wife Annette and you've already met my daughter Taylor."

After introductions were done the doctor walked in and spoke with me.

(Annette)

Annette listened to the song played by the pocket watch. It had a soothing melody that for some reason spoke deeply to her. It felt as if the song playing told a meaning of how everything in the world wanted to live together in harmony and that that ideal should be protected.

But… How did he make it work? Dan said it was broken didn't he? She was genuinely confused as to how he was able to make it work. But the melody was indeed a beautiful one, while her husband had gone to use the restroom she observed the young boy's interactions with her daughter.

Now that he was sitting up Annette was able to notice his features. They definitely were of south eastern asian ancestry most likely Japanese. His skin was tan, and his hair a dark brown with brown eyes. His face was naturally very bright, a smile that didn't seem to go away with an aura of warmth around him. He also had a mole right above his chin on the right side of his face.

One thing that Annette noticed about Yusuke(If that was his name) was that he had a very bright personality. He was quick to smile, and extremely attentive, willing to entertain her daughter's ramblings and even respond to her questions.

"So…. Can we be friends?" Her daughter asked innocently with a small blush.

She watched as Yusuke gave her a bright smile and a thumbs up. "You're already my friend Taylor."

She smiled at the two, her daughter was rather adept at making friends. And Yusuke just seemed like a bright, well mannered and patient young boy. It hurt her heart to think that such a sweet boy was in such a circumstance.

She had heard about the Case 53s on the news and in her friend circles. But those who were of that origin usually tended to have non human features. According to the doctors other than the obvious signs of amnesia the boy had nothing else in common with those individuals.

She caught sight of her husband outside the door motioning her to follow him. Giving him a nod she turned towards the two children.

"Taylor, your Dad and I have to go speak with some people. Can you keep Yusuke company for the time being?"

She watched as her daughter and Yusuke gave her a thumbs up with a smile. She chuckled ruffling Taylors hair much to her displeasure before giving Yusuke a nod and walking out the room.

Following her husband, they made their way to an office. Sitting in it was a man wearing a black suit, with short brown hair. He stood up as they entered the room to introduce themselves.

"Hello Mister, and Missus Hebert. My name is Agent Smith. I work for the PRT and would like to ask you a few questions regarding the young man that your family found that washed ashore the Boardwalk beach today." Her husband shook hands with the agent, a frown on his face as they sat down.

"Is there a problem, Agent Smith?" Dan asked with a lace of nervousness in his voice. Annette couldn't blame her husband for his reaction, getting involved with the PRT, Protectorate or just cape things in general was always a dilemma.

"No, not necessarily. No need to be worried, just some questions, that's all."

Annette placed a hand on her husband's arm to stop him from speaking and entered the conversation. "What would you like to know, Agent?"

He pulled out a notebook and pen. "So how did you find out the name of the young man?"

"My husband found a pocket watch in his pocket. Upon opening it we found a name and date which we assume to be a birthday. Yusuke Godai, March 18 1993." She replied as he wrote it down.

"Was there anything odd or out of place when your family found him?"

Annette looked at her husband as he shook his head and spoke. "Nothing out of the ordinary other than him."

"I see, are you two familiar with Case 53's?" He asked.

"Those capes that usually show up out of nowhere and have some kind of deformity right? Got the whole amnesia thing going on too?" Annette could tell that her husband knew where this conversation was going as did she.

"He doesn't seem to fit the description outside of the amnesia though." She responded as the Agent nodded in agreement.

"Yes, he also lacks a brand that the Case 53s have, according to the doctor. There is also no Corona Pollentia ruling him out as a parahuman. However, we of the PRT know that Case 53s lack one despite having parahuman abilities." Agent Smith explained as her husband raised an eyebrow.

"Is there a reason you're telling us all of this?" Dan asked the question that she had wondered as well.

Agent Smith smiled in response. "We of the PRT only want to be as transparent as possible, civilians usually want to know what they've gotten into in the case that it could involve parahumans."

"So what will happen to Yusuke?" Annette asked.

"The PRT will keep an eye on him due to his circumstances and most likely place him into a group home. Thankfully Brockton Bay has a large Japanese population to better ease him back into society. From what we have so far there does not seem to be anyone of the same age sharing that name within the database." She frowned at his answer.

Annette had heard many terrible things about foster homes from her students. A young female student of hers once confided in her about how she had moved here with her brother after the Kyushu incident and were placed into group homes.

She often told of how the gangs tended to recruit any young man into their gangs. By force, or by promise of wealth, woman, and other unsavory things.

Many of the young men ended up in the many asian gangs here. Her brother was a victim as he died in a gang war between the Dark Yakuza and the Blue Triads(Don't know the name of the asian gangs that existed before Lung took over so made some up.).

Her husband seemed to have picked up on her train of thought and made his concerns known. "Agent Smith, you are aware that many young asian men end up in the many asian gangs we have here in Brockton Bay correct?"

Agent Smith nodded with a look of resignation. "Yes, we are well aware. But there is not much else we can do for the young man."

Annette frowned as something welled up within her, just from the short moments of interaction between her. And the observations of how her daughter Taylor interacted with the young man and how Dan had told her he liked the kid replayed in her mind.

"Agent, what if…. What if we hosted Yusuke for the time being?" She locked eyes with her shocked husband before he gave her a look asking her if she was sure. She nodded slowly as he contemplated it for a brief moment.

An expression of surprise appeared on the Agent's face. "Really? Well that would help out a lot but are you sure?"

Dan entered the conversation. "Can we get back to you? This is something that we need to consider first."

"Of course, take all the time you need. It would save me the trouble of handling the paperwork for the group home."

Annette followed Dan out of the office, the two found sat at a table nearby to discuss what she had brought up in the meeting.

"Now I see where Taylor gets the habit of picking up strays from." Dan said immediately, making her laugh lightly. Her daughter had a habit of picking up stray cats and dogs and bringing them home.

"Yes, she certainly gets that from me." She replied before going silent. Her face went through a plethora of different emotions before she spoke again.

"He seems like a nice young man, he hasn't stopped smiling once since he woke up despite his situation." Dan nodded at her words.

"Indeed, perhaps it's his way of coping with his situation. Pretty brave of the kid." Dan paused and then let out a sigh. "But, are you sure about what you brought up earlier?"

She looked away as she told her husband the many things she had heard through her many students. The things on the news, the gangs and their activities, and how they recruit young men into their gangs. A young boy with no family was a prime target for recruiting.

"The people in charge of adoption will ask us why." Dan said with a sigh. "Although they'll probably take into consideration that we found him."

"You're going to agree to it?" Annette was surprised, Dan wasn't a bleeding heart and he was a stern man even though his heart was always in the right place.

"I wouldn't say agree, but we can do a trial run of sorts. To see how well he fits, I mean Taylor already likes him a lot but we can take a couple months to figure it out fully."

(Yusuke)

"And this is your room!" I watched as Taylor twirled around a little in their former guest room. It was as expected a normal bedroom. The sheets were white, with a blue blanket and pillow. The decor is a simple desk and lamp with one closet.

With a smile I look around setting down a bag. Danny, placed another one down next to it. He and his wife Annette were kind enough to buy me clothing and essentials.

"It isn't perfect but this is it kiddo, what do you think?" Danny asked.

"I think it's perfect Danny. You've all already done so much for me, not much more I can ask for." I reply with a smile, getting a pat on my shoulder.

Taylor grabs my hand and drags me out of the room as I follow. "I'm going to show him around Dad!"

"Alright, don't drag him around too much though kiddo." The older man replied with a chuckle.

I had found it rather surprising that they had decided to take me in. A dark part of me thought that perhaps they merely wanted the foster care money which was around two grand a month or so. But he quickly removed that negative thought from his mind.

The past week or so in the hospital the Heberts(Not Herberts) had put in their utmost effort to get to know me. Visiting the hospital, letting Taylor keep me company, watching sports with Danny and Annette checking my education level.

Dan was a stern man, but also a patient one. From my conversations with him I was able to learn that due to his job in the Union he was familiar with the perspectives of other people. I also one day learned of how great he was at controlling his temper. I recalled the moment I overheard a conversation he was having on his cellphone with someone regarding the Union and its workers.

His face was red, his free hand balled into a tight fist. His voice measured and calm, a deep breath was all it took for him to reign it all in. I respected him, and I also felt how happy he was deeply that another male was in the house. Perhaps he had always wanted a son?

Annette had emotional and scholarly intelligence combined with a gentle and warm nature. As expected of a Professor she was big on education, and held great passion in the arts. She was the type of parent that with a single look would tell you everything that you were doing wrong, a look of quiet disapproval. One that I had seen when Taylor had grabbed my hand and dragged us ahead of the two parents.

"This is a picture of me and Emma! She's my best friend, I can't wait for you to meet her." At the moment Taylor and I were flipping through a binder full of photos. The picture she pointed out had her next to a pretty redheaded girl.

"She's pretty." I say out loud as Taylor squinted her eyes at me.

"I'm pretty too, right?" I don't know why but I felt a chill go up my spine. Looking up I see Annette off to the side hiding her mouth behind her hand trying to stop herself from laughing.

Glad to see you're enjoying my life and death situation.

"Of course, you're the prettiest." I replied as Danny stepped out from a doorway and gave me a thumbs up. This time Annette could no longer hold her laughter letting out a snort before going into full on laughter.

Taylor on the other hand brightened up and dragged me outside towards the garden. For some reason I was really looking forward to that.

(Dream)

The vastness of space encompassed my view as a yellow and blue streak raced through the cosmos. The blue one broke off with the yellow one, passing by multiple solar systems before meeting with a black and silver one and breaking off once again.

As the blue streak returned to the yellow streak the two became frantic. That was when I saw earth nearby. But that was not all, a golden streak appeared, covered in crackling energy going through a myriad of colors. Red, blue, purple, white and green.

The crackling energy then became black and from the front of the streak a pair of bright red eyes appeared. It ripped through space itself aggressively flying towards the other two streaks.

I could feel the emotion of the golden streak as it made its way towards the duo. A deep indescribable rage filled it, almost asking if it was roaring out asking the duo how could they dare to do such a thing.

But what did they do? Why was this streak so angry?

The streaks collided creating a brilliant explosion of colors, I watched as the blue one was sent tumbling towards the earth, the golden one covered in black energy continued its struggle with the yellow one before darkness overtook me once more.
