'Twas the spooky season and the students of UA Academy were greatly looking forward to Halloween. As of right now, a Halloween party being chaperoned by the teachers was being held in the Gamma Gym and all of the hero course students, Class 1-A and Class 1-B, were there in costume, having fun and getting candy.
"Look at this haul!" exclaimed Mina, dressed up as an alien invader, as she held up the large bag of candy they collected.
"I know! We've got enough sugar to last us a week!" squeaked out Hagakure, dressed up as a fairy princess.
"I think you two are the last ones who need sugar, gero," replied Tsuyu, dressed as an undead nurse.
Kirishima, who was dressed as a werewolf, let out a laugh. "Tsu's right, Ashido. You're hyper enough as it is!"
This only made the fluffy alien pout.
At that point Ochaco and Iida, who were dressed as an astronaut and Frankenstein's Monster respectively, approached them.
"Hey, guys. Have you seen Deku-kun anywhere?" asked the anti-gravity girl, looking worried. "We've been looking for him, but can't find him anywhere."
"Indeed! We were hoping that he wanted to partake in the Halloween activities with us!" added Iida, performing his signature arm chops.
"Sorry, Prez, but we haven't seen Midori-bro," replied Kirishima. He then turned to his best friend, who was trying to keep people away from him. "Yo, Baku-bro! Have you seen Midori-bro at all tonight?"
"Why the hell would I care where that shitty Deku is, Shitty Hair?!" yelled out Bakugou as he glared at the redhead. Not only was Bakugou not wearing a costume, but he really didn't even want to be there as well.
"Language, Bakugou!" chastised Iida, reprimanding the bomb boy.
"Why must he always be so uncouth?" asked a voice.
Turning, everyone saw Momo, Shouto, and Kaminari making their way over. Shouto was dressed as a vampire, having been convinced by Momo, who was dressed as a vampire queen. Kaminari on the other hand was dressed in a red suit with a pair of devil horns on his head.
"Yo, Kami-bro! Have you seen Midori-bro? Uraraka and Prez have been looking for him," said the redhead.
"Midoriya's missing? Man, first Jirou, now Midoriya…"
"Wait, Jirou is missing as well?" questioned Iida, worried for his fellow classmate.
But Momo just shook her head. "No, Kyouka was with us not too long ago, but had to take care of something she forgot about. Although she didn't mention what."
It was then that all of the lights went out, leaving everyone in complete darkness. Sudden blackout caused some of the students to worry that they were about to be attacked by villains
"Hey, Shouta, did Nezu forget to pay the electric bill?" questioned Hizashi, trying to get the students to calm down.
The Erasure Hero narrowed his gaze as his eyes adjusted to the dark. "I really hope that is the case."
The next thing they knew, a small light appeared on the far end of the gym, revealing a figure seated in a chair.
"Deku-kun!" chirped Ochaco happily, recognizing the fluffy-haired greenie.
Indeed, it was one Midoriya Izuku, although he was dressed in what everyone else figured was his costume. The boy was dressed in 19th century American clothing, black in color. To go with the clothes, his hair was matted down, giving it a scragglier look rather than its usual fluff. He also had a small, wispy looking mustache and dark rings around his eyes as if he hadn't slept in days.
"You better have a very good explanation for this, Problem Child," demanded Aizawa, a slight glare focused on the boy.
Instead of answering, all Izuku did was open up the book he had in hand and cleared his throat.
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I ponder, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore–
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
" 'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door–
Only this and nothing more."
The students and teachers could only stare wide-eyed as they tried to process the fact that Midoriya just started reading a book out loud out of nowhere.
"What is Deku-kun doing?" questioned Ochaco, furrowing her brow in confusion.
"He is reading the "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe, a 19th century American author," supplied Cementoss. Being the literature teacher, he would know. "Poe was well known for the dark and gloomy."
"Ah, so Midoriya has taste," stated Kuroiro of Class 1-B, as he and a few of his classmates got closer to join the others. The Black Quirk user was wearing a simple black hooded robe, giving him the appearance of the Grim Reaper.
The students and teachers then all sat down at the various tables to partake in the evening storytelling.
Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December;
And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
Eagerly I wished the morrow;–vainly I had sought to borrow
From my books surcease of sorrow–sorrow for the lost Lenore–
For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore–
Nameless here for evermore.
At the mention of "Lenore" an eerie blue light appeared a few feet from where Izuku sat and within it, dressed in a 19th century dress, her face pale as the dead as she stared at the audience emotionlessly, stood…
"Kyouka?" questioned Momo, surprised to see her friend.
"Well that explains where Kyouka-chan went," said Hagakure. "Didn't think she'd be helping Midoriya with whatever this is, though."
With Class 1-B, Setsuna, who was dressed as a jungle girl, nudged their resident queen of spookiness with her elbow and gave her a sharp-tooth grin.
"I'm surprised Midoriya didn't ask you for help, Reiko-chan. I bet you would have gladly agreed to play Poe's dead wife in this little play, what with you being the spooky expert and all," stated the lizard girl, with a sly look.
Reiko, who was dressed in chains and tattered cloths like an actual ghost, turned away to hide the blush that was starting to form on her face. Setsuna was right, she would have been glad to help the creepy greenie, but she would be damned to give Setsuna any satisfaction.
Back with Class 1-A, Ochaco had a blank look on her face at the thought of Kyouka playing Deku-kun's wife.
And the silken, sad, uncertain rustling of each purple curtain
Thrilled me–filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before;
So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating
" 'Tis some visitor entreating entrance at me chamber door–
Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door;–
This it is and nothing more."
"Ooh, looks like we're finally getting to the scary stuff!" squeaked out Mina, bouncing slightly in excitement.
"I wonder who'll be at the door. Do you think it'll be the ghost of Lenore, Baku-bro?" questioned Kirishima, turning to his friend.
"How the hell should I know?!"
Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer,
"Sir," said I, "or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore;
But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping,
And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door,
That I scarce was sure I heard you"–here I opened wide the door,–
Darkness there and nothing more.
"Guys? Is it just me or did actually get darker all of the sudden?" asked Kaminari, a bit of fear in his tone.
The students and teachers did indeed notice that it was suddenly even darker than it previously was. Some of the students huddled into groups, not wanting to be alone in the unnatural darkness. Even the teachers went on guard, unsure what to make of this.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;
But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token,
And only the word spoken was the whispered word, "Lenore?"
This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, "Lenore!"–
Merely this and nothing more.
"Wh-Who said "Lenore" at the end there?" questioned a shaking Sero, who was dressed as a certain comic book spider hero from the Pre-Quirk Era. "That was definitely not Midoriya's voice!"
If the teachers weren't on guard before, they certainly were now if there was an unknown someone hiding in the shadows. The worst part is that they couldn't do a quick head count of the students unless they wanted to alert the possible intruder.
Back into the chamber turning, all my soul within me burning,
Soon again I heard a tapping somewhat louder than before.
"Surely," said I, "surely that is something at my window lattice;
Let me see, then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore–
Let my heart be still a moment and this mystery explore;–
'Tis the wind and nothing more!"
During the stanza, a loud tapping echoed throughout the gym, causing many of the students to jump in fright.
"Okay, I don't want to be here anymore!" whimpered Mineta, who was just wearing a shirt that said "FBI: Female Body Inspector". While it was normal for the grape to act like a coward, the others for once didn't blame him one bit.
Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,
In there stepped a stately Raven of the saintly days of yore;
Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he;
But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door–
Perched upon the bust of Pallas just above my chamber door–
Perched, and sat, and nothing more.
Two torches lit up, revealing a large door between Izuku and Kyouka, and everyone in the audience let out yelps or small screams when a fluttering sound went over their heads and an actual raven landed upon the bust above the door
"…K-Kouda? Please tell me you're in on this," pleaded the knightly armored Ojirou, turning to the animal lover of the class.
Even though it was dark, they could see the quiet boy, who was dressed as a turtle, slowing shake his head "no" with a look of terror on his face.
For one certain witchy mushroom girl of Class 1-B, though, one thought went through her mind at the sight of the raven. 'Where's Tokoyami-kun?'
Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
"Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou," I said, "art sure no craven,
Ghastly grim and ancient Raven wandering from the Night shore–
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!"
Quoth the Raven "Nevermore."
"Oh, so the raven's name is Nevermore," said Pony with a small giggle. She was dressed up as a Wild West cowgirl.
"That's what you focus on?!" questioned the mad butcher Awase, looking at her with wide eyes. "What about how the voice from earlier spoke again?!"
"He has a point, Pony," added the wolf girl Itsuka with a nervous laugh, especially since the raven was looking at everyone as if it was staring into their souls.
Much I marveled this ungainly fowl to hear discourse so plainly,
Though its answer little meaning–little relevancy bore;
For we cannot help agreeing that no living human being
Ever yet was blessed with seeing the bird above his chamber door–
Bird or beast upon the sculptured bust above his chamber door,
With such a name as "Nevermore."
"That bird is going to kill us, I just know it," said Kaminari, keeping an eye on the raven.
But the Raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
Nothing farther then he uttered–not a feather then he fluttered–
Till I scarcely more than muttered "Other friends have flown before–
On the morrow he will leave me, as my Hopes have flown before."
Then the bird said "Nevermore."
"Oh he's definitely going to kill us," replied Sero, shuddering at the sound of the mysterious voice that spoke once more.
Startled at the stillness broken by reply so aptly spoken,
"Doubtless," said I, "what it utters is its only stock and store
Caught from some unhappy master whom unmerciful Disaster
Followed fast and followed faster till his songs one burden bore–
Till the dirges of his Hope that melancholy burden bore
Of 'Never–nevermore'."
"What sort of demon is this creature?" questioned Shiozaki, who was dressed as an angel. She narrowed her gaze on the possibly demonic corvid.
But the Raven still beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of the bird, and bust and door;
Then, upon the velvet sinking, I betook myself to linking
Fancy unto fancy, thinking what this ominous bird of yore–
What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt, and ominous bird of yore
Meant in croaking "Nevermore."
"This demon must be exorcised!" continued the religious girl as she quickly pulled out a cross and a bottle of holy water. She would have stormed the stage, but her classmates quickly held her back, fearing for her life.
This I sat engaged in guessing, but no syllable expressing
To the fowl whose fiery eyes now burned into my bosom's core;
This and more I sat divining, with my head at ease reclining
On the cushion's velvet lining that the lamp-light gloated o'er,
But whose velvet-violet lining with the lamp-light gloating o'er,
She shall press, ah, nevermore!
Setsuna leaned over to whisper to Reiko. "Did you understand any of that?"
"Shh," replied the ghost girl, giving the lizard girl a quick glare before focusing back onto Midoriya.
This only made Setsuna roll her eyes with a smirk.
Then, methought, the air grew denser, perfumed from an unseen censer
Swung by seraphim whose foot-falls tinkled on the tufted floor.
"Wretch," I cried, "thy God hath lent thee–by these angels he hath sent thee
Respite–respite and nepenthe, from thy memories Lenore;
Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe and forget this lost Lenore!"
Quoth the Raven "Nevermore."
The phantom smell of incense had filled the room, yet the pleasant smell could not calm the nerves of the audience. But while a majority of the teens sat in terror, three of them momentarily forgot their fear.
"Aw, he misses his wife!" squeaked Hagakure, trembling in sadness.
"I know! It's so sad!" added Mina, all teary-eyed.
"That poor man," said Momo, also teary-eyed.
Up on the stage, it took everything Kyouka had to stay in character and refrain from facepalming.
"Prophet!" said I, "thing of evil!–prophet still, if bird of devil!–
Whether Tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore,
Desolate yet all undaunted, on the desert land enchanted–
On this home by Horror haunted–tell me truly, I implore–
Is there–is there balm in Gilead?–tell me–tell me, I implore!"
Quoth the Raven "Nevermore."
The students were on the edge of their seats now that it seemed that the confrontation was about to begin.
"Prophet!" said I, "thing of evil!–prophet still, if bird or devil!
By that Heaven that bends above us–by that God we both adore–
Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn,
It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore–
Clasp a rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore."
Quoth the Raven "Nevermore."
"Let me go!" hissed out Shiozaki as she struggled in her classmates' grasp. "In the name of our Lord I must exorcise that demon!"
"Ibara, it's just a bird…and a work of fiction!" explained Itsuka, hoping to get through to the girl.
"Sure as hell doesn't feel like a work of fiction," muttered Tetsutetsu, who much like Kirishima was dressed as a werewolf. He and a few other students shuddered as the atmosphere felt unnaturally cold.
"Be that word our sign of parting, bird or fiend!" I shrieked, upstarting–
"Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore!
Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken!
Leave my loneliness unbroken!–quit the bust above my door!
Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!"
Quoth the Raven "Nevermore."
The emotion that came from Izuku as he read engulfed the room and had everyone invested. Not only that, but the raven continued to stare deep into their souls, the hearts felt as if they were in an icy grip. Unable to take their attention off of the stage, they were ignorant to the large figure that appeared behind them.
And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And the eyes have all the seaming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted–
Before Izuku could finish, the audience was covered in a large shadowy mass. Looking up to see why it suddenly got even darker than it already was, they froze in terror when they were met with a large pair of glowing yellow eyes and a demonic sounding voice.
"Nevermore!"
The screams could be heard all across campus.
-:-
Three cups of cider clinked together as the three students celebrated.
"That went better than I expected," stated Izuku with a proud smile.
"Indeed," said Tokoyami with a satisfied smirk of his own. "The darkness was our key to success this night."
The costume the bird-headed boy wore consisted of almost skintight black clothes and a black leather trench coat. He even painted his face white with black markings around his eyes and mouth. When asked earlier who he was supposed to be, he replied that he was a spirit of vengeance from a cult classic Pre-Quirk Era comic book and movie.
"Hell yeah! And did you see the looks on everyone's faces when they got a look at me?!" declared Dark Shadow, preening himself on his scariness. This only made Tokoyami roll his eyes.
"You know, normally I hate all this horror stuff, but it's actually kind of fun being on the scaring side instead of the getting scared side," added Kyouka with a laugh.
The three continued to celebrate their accomplishment, but the celebrations had to end when an explosion went off.
"Fucking Deku!" yelled out Bakugou as he charged towards his former friend to cause him pain. Luckily, Kirishima was able to intercept the always-angry boy and keep him from attacking Izuku.
The three watched on with blank looks before Kyouka turned to the greenie.
"Looks like our little trick worked so well that even Bakugou was terrified," she stated with a smirk.
"Like hell I was fucking scared, Earlobes!" shouted the ashy-blond, glaring hatefully at the purplette, struggling against Kirishima's hold all the while.
But Kyouka just rolled her eyes and gave him an unamused look. "If you weren't scared you wouldn't be trying to attack Izuku in the first place, but since you are attacking that means you were scared and hate that Izuku was the one to do it."
"…She's got a point, Baku-bro."
A feral growl was the only response Bakugou could give as he had a death glare set on the nerd.
"My only question is, what the hell is wrong with you three?!" demanded Kaminari as he and a majority of the other first year hero students stayed as far away from the trio as possible, with some of them still shaking in fear.
"I must concur with Kaminari! Midoriya! What was going through your mind when you did this?!" exclaimed Iida with his signature hand chops. "You could have given someone a heart attack!"
"Or nightmares!" squeaked out Hagakure. She then shuddered. "I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight."
"I thought it was really cool!" said Pony with a cute smile.
Kuroiro let out a haunting laugh. "Ah, another with good taste."
"I thought it was bad enough that Monoma tries to corrupt Pony, but now Kuroiro's doing it?" questioned Awase, causing Itsuka to give the Black Quirk user a narrowed look and putting him on guard.
Setsuna just rolled her eyes. "Anyone can like scary stuff, guys. Right, Reiko-chan?"
Turning to the ghost girl, the Class 1-B students couldn't help but sweatdrop when they found her breathing heavily with a flushed face as she stared directly at Midoriya. Itsuka had to quickly shut Monoma up before he went on another one of his Anti-Class 1-A rants.
The teachers then stepped forward, with Aizawa looking down at the three (namely Midoriya) with a narrowed look.
"You better have a really good explanation for this little stunt you pulled, Problem Child," said the Erasure Hero, earning a slight glare from Kyouka.
Midnight rolled her eyes before she gave Aizawa an admonishing look. "Shouta, it's Halloween. This is what people do."
"Midnight's right, Eraser," said Vlad King. He then looked back at the three students. "That being said, you three are lucky that we teachers were able to figure out what was going on before it was too late. Someone could have gotten hurt because we almost thought a villain had gotten in!"
"How were you able to even set this up anyway?" questioned Ectoplasm.
"Midoriya was able to get permission from Principal Nezu and All Might," replied Tokoyami, crossing his arms.
"I figured it would have been safer to ask someone who would give it some thought than outright say no like Aizawa-sensei would," added Izuku.
Aizawa could feel his eye twitch at that, while Hizashi laughed out loud.
"Man, Shouta! What did you do that these kids can't trust you over the smallest of things?" questioned the Voice Hero with a grin, earning a glare from his best friend. "Eh, either way, I got to admit that was a great Halloween trick, little listeners!"
He then reached over to ruffle the hair of his favorite student, causing her to let out a small yelp. Once she was able to push his hand away, the purplette fixed her hair while giving her mentor a pouty glare, much to his amusement.
"Indeed. I was quite impressed with how you managed to bring Poe's work to life the way you did," declared Cementoss with a smile.
At this point, the raven from earlier made itself known with a loud "caw" and flew down from where it was perched and landed on top of Izuku's head, resting on the fluffy softness.
"…Where exactly did you get the raven anyway, little listener?" asked Hizashi and everyone else just stared at the corvid.
"Oh! I came across him one day and gave him some food because he looked hungry. He's been following me ever since!" replied Izuku with a beaming smile.
"Apparently ravens are very loyal to those who are nice to them, which explains a lot about Tokoyami," added Kyouka with a teasing grin, earning a roll of the eyes from the bird-headed boy and a thumb's up from Dark Shadow.
Accepting this, the teachers allowed the three storytellers to go hang out with the rest of their friends. Although Hizashi and Nemuri had to drag Aizawa away before he could complain further.
As they drew close, some of the other teens were still spooked and didn't want to come near, especially since the raven looked at them with a soul-searing look. Surprisingly, Kuroiro was the one to first step forward.
"I hope you realize that you have just declared war, Tokoyami," stated the Black Quirk user with a slight manic grin.
"Oh?" questioned the bird-headed boy, raising a brow.
"That's right. You are my rival in darkness and next year I will show you and your team the true terror of Halloween!"
"…Did he seriously just issue us a challenge?" asked Kyouka, turning to Izuku.
But the greenie just shrugged. "Looks that way, although I think it was geared more towards Tokoyami than us."
The next to come forward were Momo and Shouto, with Momo pouting as she confronted her best friend.
"You could have told me that you were planning this, Kyouka."
"And ruin the surprise? Perish the thought, Yaomomo," replied the shy rocker with a teasing smirk.
While Momo continued to pout, Shouto turned to his best friend. "Out of curiosity, Midoriya, what made you choose that story for this?"
"It's a classic story that's a psychological horror without being too scary. I didn't want to scare everyone too badly," answered Izuku with a cinnamon roll smile.
'Liar!' thought most of the victims.
"Deku-kun!" chirped Ochaco as she came over and latched onto the boy's arm, causing him to blush brightly. She then looked up at him, ignoring the raven, and puffed out her round cheeks in a pout. "If you were planning all this, why didn't you ask me to help you instead of Kyouka? You know I would have."
Having her so close, Izuku could only stammer, still not used to close contact with the opposite sex…well, except one.
Kyouka narrowed her eyes on the anti-gravity girl, more than willing to drop the bomb.
"If you really want to know, Ochaco, Izuku-kun asked me because he knows how much I hate anything horror…"
Ochaco blinked in confusion. "Wait…'Izuku-kun'?"
"But the other reason he asked me is very simple."
At this point Kyouka latched onto Izuku's other arm, but unlike with Ochaco, Izuku visibly relaxed in the shy rocker's presence. Upon seeing this, Ochaco let go of Deku-kun's arm and looked at them as if trying to figure out if what she was seeing was real or not.
"Wh-What? No. Y-You can't mean…"
But the shy smile and glance that Deku-kun was giving Kyouka, who held Deku-kun's arm close spoke more than words possibly could. Ochaco felt like she was stabbed in the heart, while over with Class 1-B, Reiko was disappointed since she never even had a chance to talk with Midoriya.
"You two were dating behind our backs?! How could you do that?!" exclaimed Mina, upset that she never suspected this.
"It was quite obvious that they were together if one paid attention, Ashido-san," stated Tokoyami, earning a pouty glare from the fluffy alien.
"You knew about this and didn't say anything?!"
"It is not my place to speak of other's business," replied the bird-headed boy.
Mina let out a groan of disappointment over not being the first one to find out about this, while Momo was all happy and congratulating her best friend's new relationship.
With the scariness behind them and a new relationship revealed, the students continued their Halloween celebrations for the night. Although Tsuyu had to comfort a blank-faced Ochaco, while Setsuna had to do the same with Reiko by encouraging her that not only were there other creepy boys out there, but to also speak with Midoriya for once and become friends.
"Just because you can't have the cute greenie's heart, doesn't mean you can't have his friendship!"
Needless to say, the ghost girl took Setsuna's words to heart and went over to properly introduce herself to the creepy greenie, hoping that he and the purplette who won his heart wouldn't shun her on this Halloween night.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN
-:-
OMAKE
It had been a long day for Izuku as he made his way back to his room after taking a shower. Not only was his Halloween trick a success, but also he even made a new friend in Yanagi-san! He was so happy!
As he entered his room, he stopped when he caught sight of Kyouka lying on her stomach on his bed going through her phone, all while wearing nothing but a pair of short shorts and one of his t-shirts. The sight really got his blood pumping.
Taking off the shirt he was wearing, he made his way over to the bed and gently lay next to her, wrapping an arm around her waist to pull her close so he could start laying kisses along her neck.
"A-Ah! I-Izu-kun~ S-Stop, I'm trying to w-work!" gasped out the shy rocker with a moan. Going by her tone, Izuku knew she wanted him to keep going.
"What are you working on, my Beautiful Kyouka?" he asked in a husky voice that sent shivers of pleasure down her spine.
Composing herself, she answered. "I was trying to come up with a prank to play on my old man. It's still Halloween for a few more hours and he's been extra annoying lately, so I really wanted to give him a really good scare."
"I can help if you want. What's your dad scared of?" asked the greenie.
"According to my mom; spiders, but I wanted something that would really terrify him."
Izuku then went into thought. "Hm, what would be a good way to scare someone then?"
As he thought up ideas, Kyouka glanced at him, unable to resist how cute he was all the time. All she wanted to do was hold him and kiss him and support him in everything he does, especially since she knew he felt the same way about her.
As her eyes roamed over him, taking in his shirtless appearance, it was then an idea for a prank came to her, causing a mischievous grin to appear on her face.
"I have an idea, Izu-kun, if you're willing to participate."
Seeing that she had his full attention, she told him what they would do.
Some time later, at the Jirou residence, Kyoutoku was putting the finishing touches on his costume for a party he and his wife would be attending when his phone chimed, signifying that he got a text. When he looked to see whom it was from, he smiled when he saw his daughter's name, but all happiness vanished when he opened the text and his face became as pale as a ghost when he let out a scream of terror.
Mika rushed into the room, wondering what happened, only to find her husband unconscious on the floor. Looking for what caused this, she found her husband's phone lying next to him. Picking it up, she gained a blank look upon seeing what was on the screen.
It was a selfie photo of their daughter and a green-haired boy behind her, being quite intimate if the boy kissing Kyouka's neck and her wearing what was clearly the boy's shirt was any indication. But what really stood out though, was that Kyouka looked nine months pregnant, with both hers and the boy's hands on the belly. There was even a text with the photo that said "Went and eloped with my boyfriend today! Ready to be a grandpa, Old Man?"
Mika pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration, both at her husband and her daughter. For one thing, she could tell right away that the pregnancy was fake and nothing more than a pillow stuffed up under the shirt. Not only that, but Kyoutoku should have known better since Kyouka had visited home just last week and she was clearly not pregnant!
Fishing out her own phone, Mika quickly called Kyouka.
"Hey, Kaasan," was the greeting she received from Kyouka.
"Kyouka, please refrain from trying to give your father a heart attack. You're lucky he just fainted from that photo you sent," replied the Jirou matriarch with a frown.
"Fine," said Kyouka, although Mika could tell she would gladly do this again.
"Also, if that boy in the photo really is your boyfriend, I expect you to bring him by next week so your father and I may meet him."
"…I'd rather not."
"You've lost that right, young lady. Think of it as punishment for your little prank just now."
Mika had to smirk to herself, as she knew Kyouka would be pouting right now.
"Fine, but the Old Man better not try anything out of petty revenge and he better not be overprotective like he usually is!"
"That I can promise. Now goodnight, Kyouka, and make sure you and that boy don't do anything you shouldn't."
She smirked once more when she heard her daughter let out an "eep". Maybe the embarrassment would make sure they didn't give her an actual grandchild this soon.
OMAKE END
-:-
I debated on making this either an IzuJirou one-shot or an IzuReiko one because it's Halloween. IzuJirou ultimately won out because since Kyouka is deathly afraid of horror themes, no one would be able to comfort her like Izuku can if Izuku is up on stage. That's also why there were hints of one-sided IzuReiko in this.
I think most people forget that Reiko canonically has a thing for Izuku, calling him creepy during the Joint Training with it having to be explained to Shinsou that Reiko likes creepy things. Luckily though, her feelings for Izuku don't overshadow everything else about her character like it does with Ochaco or Himeko. So while IzuJirou is the Izuku pairing that makes the most sense overall, if I had to pick a girl for him that canonically loves him, it would be Reiko.
Also, cookie to the first person that can guess who Tokoyami was dressed up as.
