It was supposed to be a simple trip back to their home time. After he dropped them off, Mirpo would go back to his own time and finally put this whole thing behind him. Who would've guessed that a Martian Pilot would've been able to help save the world so many times?

The Chrono-Engine kicked off once they arrived in the correct future: The 41st Century. The blue timestream and hyperspace began to fade…

And what they saw instantly horrified them.

"What in all of the…?"

Mirpo stared out through the saucer's cockpit. Outer space was now a distorted chaotic version of itself. All the planets looked old and dead. The stars were now cold and lifeless. There was no sun. The planets close to it seemed burned and decayed.

Everything was…chaotic and deformed. There were strange cosmic eldritch chantings that echoed out in the distance, massive inky black tentacles that seemed to stretch for miles, giant eyes replacing stars that always watched, gaping maws replacing black holes, and nothing but a dark green chaotic unstable void…

This…this was a DEAD universe.

"W…What happened?" Sammy asked. "The space colonies are all dead, destroyed, and corrupted!"

"I…I don't know…" Brent gulped. "But…is that still even Earth?!"

Mirpo gulped. Something about this was TERRIBLY wrong.

"Well…I guess we're going in for a landing…"

The U.F.O. entered the chaotic planet. And once they broke through the clouds, the three travelers gasped.

The world was…empty. A global grave, post-apocalyptic with NOTHING left. Cities lay in ruin. Endless clouds blanketed and swallowed up the sky. Even the very oceans were void of water!

The saucer touched down on what seemed like Middletown. Once, it was known as Hollowville. But something was wrong. Something was HORRIBLY wrong.

Upon setting foot on the planet, Mirpo nervously readied his Galacta Blaster as Sammy did his own weaponry. The town seemed to have been overrun by monsters. But even THOSE monsters were nowhere in sight.

Buildings lay in ruin. Some of the deformed geometry didn't even make sense. It was all non-euclidean! It didn't even make any sense!

Massive tentacles were sprouting from the ground, eyes and teeth too numerous to count on each.

"What…what happened to this place?" Mirpo wondered aloud. Although a part of him didn't want to hear the answer.

"HELLO?!" Sammy cried out. "ANYBODY?!"

Those words echoed silently, until those died as well. Everything was dead and still. No sound, no wind, no planetary rotation, even.

And then…there was a howl. A deathlike howl, out in the distance. Followed by the very air itself roaring out with moans and insane roars.

Mirpo gulped.

"Uh…we gotta go…" He stammered. "W-WE GOTTA GO RIGHT NOW!"

Terrified for his very life, the Martian bolted back to his ship. Sammy followed right behind him, and the Martian looked around in a blind panic.

"Where's Brent?!"

Something slapped him across the face.

"I'm right here!" The invisible boy said, running deeper into the ship. "Wait…what's that?!"

Mirpo looked outside…and he went still.

What seemed like hordes of screaming mad zombies were coming right this way! They screamed and ran towards the ship, off in the distance, but closing in FAST!

They weren't just normal undead either! They had so many eyes, so many mouths, so many tentacles! Some zombies were so grotesque that there were no words to even COMPREHEND how horrifying they were!

"AAAAARGH! AAAAAAAARGH! AAAAARRRRRRGGGHHH!"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" Mirpo screamed, racing to the cockpit seat. "WE GOTTA GET OUTTA HERE!"

He frantically pressed the buttons, and by the time the eldritch zombies reached the town, the ship quickly rose into the air and dashed into space, the zombies screaming like mad as if pleading for the ship to come back.

Mirpo's heart was hammering, and what happened next almost made it explode. Mars, the planet of MARS, opened its eyes and let out a ROAR with its massive maw! And it grew to be bigger than the Earth!

"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"

Mirpo was screaming like mad as the saucer sped far away from the Milky Way Galaxy, dodging and firing wildly at the cosmic black tentacles that tried grabbing at it. The very universal abyss roared and came to life with shrills of monstrous rage, the black void shifting and changing like the tides and waves!

"Go back to when we left!" Sammy screamed. "We have to warn them!"

Mirpo couldn't stop screaming as he mashed buttons. He was only focused on getting ANYWHERE but here.

His brain came THIS close to snapping, as he couldn't bear to look as the Chrono-Engine began to power up.

"It's coming closer!" Brent wailed, not even knowing what "it" was. All he knew is that it sought to corrupt and destroy. Any second, they would all die.

And Mirpo saw green eyes and a wide mouth open up in the void of space, roaring like the demon of demon's before sucking the saucer in with the force of a black hole!

"THAT'S IT! IT'S GOT US!" He screamed and cried. "WE'RE GONNA DIE!"

The engine, as if sensing the approach of doom, began charging even faster. And once the astral demon began closing its infinitely large jaws, the ship blasted off at lightspeed and traveled through time, blowing through the being and making it scream in pain!

Mirpo couldn't hear his own screams as the saucer sped quickly away from that chaotic future. All Sammy could think of was to find a way to stop that chaotic hell from coming to pass.

Finally, a blast of light gave way, and Mirpo slowly opened his eyes.

"Ah…phew!"

He sat back on his seat, now seeing Earth alive and peaceful again. He was SO glad to be out of that time. Who knows…maybe HIS future was like that as well.

"We HAVE to warn them!" Brent says. "We gotta save our future!"

"You know, this may sound crazy," Mirpo says, making the descent back to Earth. "But I think I'm just gonna stay in THIS time for the rest of my life…"
