A Help from Future
After John and his company had left and remained only Margaret with her family, Margaret grimaced after the unpleasant conversation and wanted to get back to Milton to her parents sooner and try to forget everything that happened today at the Great Exhibition, but she still remembered everything and those thoughts didn't leave her alone. Especially John's face. It was in front of her eyes all the time. While he was telling the story of his factory, he looked so happy and proud, but when he noticed her, then his face changed. He wasn't smiling anymore, but he was angry and there was something else in his eyes that Margaret couldn't understand, but in her opinion it was a pain and even though she knew why it was there, yet she couldn't change anything there. At least that's how she thought, but in reality she no longer understood her own feelings and thoughts. After Henry provoked John and John looked as if he was ready to show Henry what he was dealing with, Margaret realized that the air in the Exhibition had become very tense at that point, as the two looked like two bulls ready to fight for one woman, but she didn't feel like after that day of unhappy proposal, John would still have any feelings for her, but now she didn't understand anything anymore. In fact, Margaret didn't want to think or talk about feelings, especially her own, because she still didn't know what she felt about John, whether she wanted to be with him, and whether she would be happy with him, and about marriage with him she not want to talk at all. She was tired of the events of that day and wanted to go back to at least her aunt's house and hide in her former bedroom to try to sort out her thoughts. But one thing Margaret clearly knew. Her dislike for Henry had grown even greater and no matter how her aunt Shaw and Edith tried to bring them together, she would never marry him.
"Margaret, are you well? You look pale. Maybe we need to go home. You have to rest. I said Milton's air wouldn't be good for you and now we're seeing what's going on with my poor sister!" - Aunt Shaw saw Margaret, groaned.
"It's okay with me, aunt, I'm just tired and it has nothing to do with Milton and so does my mother. If you don't mind, I'll go sit down right here on the bench, but you can continue the viewing. You don't have to stop it because of me!" - Margaret replied earnestly and already turned away to leave, but Henry gently grabbed her by the arm and turned to face herself.
"I'll accompany you, Margaret, if you don't mind. You shouldn't go alone!" - Henry looked seriously while behind him Edith and her mother smiled joyfully. Margaret pulled her hand out of his grasp and retreated slightly.
"Thank you, Henry, but I'll really get over it myself. I really want to be left alone!" - having said this, Margaret turned and went to a nearby bench, where she sat down and watched the surroundings. The others left, leaving her alone. For a moment, Margaret sat quietly until a woman, strangely dressed, sat down next to her, holding a book in her hands.
"Hello or whatever they say at this time, Good day. I know I look pretty weird, but where I come from, that's what everyone looks like. I saw what happened here and I'm here to help you. My name is Daniela Armitage and I have in my hands a novel in which you are and through it I will try to help you. I'm sorry if I was scared you!" - Margaret was really scared at first that she sat further and stared at the stranger sitting opposite her with wider eyes. She was really strangely dressed. She had strangely long and sleek trousers on her back, a strangely tight shirt with short sleeves on top, and a strange jacket, of bizarre fabric like trousers, with large shiny buttons, but all this she had covered with a cloak so that no one noticed her so much. She had blonde hair that had been received on her head and unbuttoned like Margaret and blue eyes like hers, and as slender as herself. They seemed to be just twins, but that couldn't be the case because Margaret didn't know her and didn't know who she was, but this woman seemed to know her quite well.
"You... you really scared me. Who are you? Where are you from and why do you think you will be able to help me?" - still frightened Margaret looked at Daniela unfaithfully and was already preparing to flee.
"I apologize again if I was scared you. If I tell you where I'm from, you won't believe me, so let it remain a mystery. I've already mentioned the novel in my hands and this novel was just like the sky sides from where you two and John Thornton are. I've read it several times because I adore it, so I know what's going to happen to both of you in the end and that's why I can help you understand what John means to you because it's very important. But here's not the right place to talk about it. We can go to the hotel where I have settled and there I will tell you more. Don't worry, you can trust me safely. I have no intention of hurting you. Just help!" - Daniela smiled and stared at Margaret with glowing eyes. Although Margaret still didn't trust Daniela, yet she agreed, because at least she would be able to ventilate her head and who knows, maybe this stranger will really help her understand her feelings for John.
"Good, I'm willing!" - Margaret smiled lightly and the two got up from the bench to go, but Margaret turned her head to the side where her London family was and realizing what she wanted to do, Daniela laughed.
"Don't worry that your family doesn't know anything better because they, especially your aunt and cousin, want to marry you to that arrogant lawyer, Henry Lennox, whom I despise. Now let's go!" - Margaret looked at Daniel in surprise, but said nothing more.
Entering Daniela's room, she finally took off her cloak and put it on the back of her chair. Margaret studied her bizarre style of dress in surprise, but said nothing. She wanted to know how exactly this stranger could help her. Taking off her hat and cloak, she sat down in one of the chairs by the fireplace and Daniela did the same, holding the book in her hands again.
"So as I mentioned in this book, you can see if you and John will be together. I'd say here's your future. Do you want to know it?" - Daniela seriously watched the young girl sitting opposite her with a cunning grin on her face. Margaret oscillated between wanting to know and not being convinced because she still didn't know if she really wanted to be with John, but curiosity won and she reached out to get the book. Daniela understood.
"Are you sure? Then take it and read it, but what I'm going to tell you is that John isn't what you think. He has a very gentle and lovely heart. He cares about what happens to others, and not only with his family, but also with his employees and their families, and most importantly, he really loves you, Margaret. Did you see how he was on the Exhibition today? When did he say he thought he knew you before, but was wrong? And what did he become when that intolerable Henry provoked him? But before we discuss this, take it and read what's written in the book!" - Daniela put the book in Margaret's hand and Margaret slowly opened it with trembling hands and began reading it from where Daniela had folded the corner, and it was the place when her parents were gone and she returned to London saying goodbye to John and his family. With each page she read, Margaret's eyes widened with more and more, and at some point she already wanted to close the book, yet she continued because she wanted to know if she was really going to be happy at the end. When she had finally gotten to the very end, where Margaret and John were fixed and happy, Margaret had tears in her eyes and she slowly put the book down on a small table by the chair.
"Now you know everything, Margaret, and everything is up to you now. Of course, you don't have to change anything and you don't have to, but just think about whether you really want to give John a chance. He will make you happy and you will be happy. Or do you prefer to become the wife of an intolerable and proud London lawyer?" - Daniela stared at Margaret with a smile, who blushed and shook her head, still thinking about everything she had just read.
"No, I certainly don't want to be Henry's wife, but... but ... he's really like you described him, only I didn't want to see it. My thoughts have really changed about him, but I still can't understand my feelings for him. I really like him. I thought I'd give him a chance. And when you asked if I saw what happened to him today on the show, then I really didn't understand, but I seem to understand now. Was It true that was jealous, or whatever it's called, to Henry? And Henry reacted to him the same way? If so, it means Henry still loves me. Oh Lord, I have two men who love me, but one I don't like and the other I like, but I can't answer his feelings yet. How complicated!" - Margaret replied shyly and blushed again. Daniela still kept smiling and put her hand on her, showing support.
"You've understood everything correctly, Margaret, I'm happy for you. John and Henry were really jealous of each other because they both love you, but you'll be able to respond to John's love, only you still need time. There's nothing complicated about it. I will confess that you are both a beautiful couple and will be very happy. You can't even imagine how many of your admirers, who we call fans there, are from where I come from. They all love and adore you both very much, especially John. I'm sorry if I gave you so much information, but you should have known it. Hopefully you'll make the right decision!" - Daniela said with a smile and continued to watch Margaret, who stared in disbelief at Daniela.
"I also hope and think it will be. But can you finally discover where you are from? And we're really so admired? This is an unexpected but pleasant surprise, but thanks for the help. You really helped a lot!" - Margaret finally smiled a little shyly and blushed again.
"I didn't want to say where I'm from, so as not to scare you, because I suppose you haven't heard of something like this before. Okay, I'll tell you. I'm from the future and live a few centuries later, but you have to promise that you won't tell anyone, just like this conversation of ours. And it is, you are very popular there. I'm glad I was able to help!" - Margaret stared at Daniel with her mouth open and really couldn't believe what she had just heard, but at least she understood why this stranger was so strangely dressed and how she knew about him and John.
"It's really hard for me to believe, but I promise I won't tell anyone because no one will believe me either. I should go, otherwise my aunt and cousin will start worrying about my long absence. Thank you, Miss Armitage, for your help!" - the two women stood up and hugged. Then Daniela escorted Margaret to the door of the room, where the two said goodbye.
"There's nothing, Miss Hale. I was pleased to help. I wish you both happy, joy and lots of children with John!" - saying the last word Daniela winked and smiled, but Margaret blushed bright red.
"Thank you, but we still have a long way to go. Goodbye, Miss Armitage!" - Margaret shook her head and Daniela did the same.
"Goodbye, future Mrs. Thornton!" - and as Margaret blushed, she walked out the door and Daniela closed it, radiating with joy. Her job was done!
