Chapter 1
Prom Night…one of the best nights to be a high school student. Well…depends on who you ask. For Lori Loud, she is planning to make this night, the best night she can remember.
Lori (Sitting on her bed in her bedroom): "Bobby! I'm literally excited. This is the night…OUR HIGH SCHOOL PROM!"
Bobby (Sitting next to her): "I know babe. I can't wait to dance with you on the dance floor. But can I ask…" (Points to an open photo album on Lori's lap): "Why are we looking at old photos?"
Lori: "Well Boo-Boo Bear…it's kind of a thing I do when a school dance comes around. I just like to look back and remember the dances I went to when I was younger. That and it gives me ideas on what dance moves I should do."
Bobby: "Aww! That's so cute!" (Boops his girlfriend on the nose): "Like you!"
Lori (With a goofy smile): "Oh…"
Bobby (Looks down at the album): "Hmmm…" (Points to a picture): "That kid with the white hair looks familiar."
Lori: "He should, that's Lincoln."
Bobby: "Lincoln?!"
Lori: "He took me to the middle school prom."
Bobby: "Wait…Little Bro was in middle school with us? I thought he is starting this September."
Lori (Shakes her head): "No, Bobby. Lincoln was only eight at the time. He just wanted to take me to the dance."
Bobby (With a raised eyebrow): "Why did he do that?"
Lori (Develops a nostalgic smile): "Well, it was three years ago…"
As Lori starts to tell her story, we travel three years into the past. Where we see a fourteen-year-old Lori, who has braces on her teeth, little pimples around her face, and glasses to help her see. Wearing a light blue button-down shirt, dark blue skirt, and blue socks and slip-on shoes to match. Walking along the hallway of Royal Woods Middle School, looking back and forth, hoping that someone would ask her out to the eighth-grade prom that is in three days.
?: "Hi Lori!"
Lori (Turns around with great excitement): "Hi…" (Gets super disappointed): "…Leni…"
Leni, only being a grade behind her big sister, is sporting a lovely turquoise sundress, a flower bracelet on her risk, heart shape sunglasses, and pink sandals on her feet.
Leni (With a big smile): "So…did anyone ask you out to the prom yet?"
Lori: "Sigh! Not yet Leni." (Puts her head down): "And I don't think no one will."
Leni (With a frown): "Don't say that Lori! Why would no one ask you out?" (With a reassuring smile): "You're so attractive!"
Lori (Rolls her eyes): "Yeah, a girl with pimples and braces is so attractive! Thanks, Leni…"
Leni: "Coral Pingree got asked out to the prom ten times by now. And she has braces and pimples."
Lori (Feeling horrible, as tears start to develop in her eyes): "That's because she's perfect in every way. And I'm not!"
Not wanting to discuss it anymore, Lori makes a run for it, and out of the school, she goes.
Leni: "Good thing school is over."
Speaking of school being over for the day, we cut to the Loud House, where we see some of the younger siblings in the living room. A five-year-old Lucy watching a black and white cartoon. A three-year-old Lana running around the room on all fours pretending to be a puppy.
Lana: "Bark! Yip! Bark!"
And a three-year-old Lola dancing with an eight-year-old Lincoln.
Lola (Holding her brother's hands): "Dance Linky! Dance!"
Lincoln (Dancing along with her): "I am! I am!"
The front door opens with the two oldest siblings, Lori and Leni, coming in.
Leni: "Come on Lori! At least let me give you a makeover to make it up to you."
Lori (Walking up the stairs): "No thank you, Leni!"
Lincoln (Looks over at Leni with concern): "What was that all about?"
Leni: "Oh…"
We soon enter Lori and Leni's room…
Lori (Sitting on her bed, while holding up a dress): "At least I can return this and get my money back."
Leni (Running into the room with something in her hand): "Lori! Lori" (Hands an envelope to her sister): "You got a letter."
Lori (Opens it up): "A letter?" (Starts to read it): "Dear the sweet Lori Loud. It would be my pleasure to take you to the Royal Woods Middle School eighth-grade prom. I would've asked you in person, but I was too shy. So, to answer my question, just mark the card with the yes and no boxes in the envelope of this letter. And let Leni deliver it to me since we know each other. So, I hope to get a response soon. With great love…" (Develops a huge smile with hearts forming in her eyes): "…your secret admirer!" (Hugs the letter tightly): "Eeee…"
Leni: "See Lori, I told you someone wanted to take you to the prom!"
Quickly as she can, Lori takes out the card said to be in the envelope, checks off the yes box, puts it back in, and reseals it.
Lori (Hands the letter back to Leni): "Get this to him as fast as you can!"
Leni (Gives her sister a salute): "You go it!"
And so, the next three days were simply magical for Lori, as she got herself ready for the prom and can't wait to meet her secret admirer.
Leni (With a lipstick stick in her hand): "OMG Lori. You look amazing!"
It is true…Lori is wearing a lovely light blue knee dress with a pattern of flowers on it. Sparkly golden wedges on her feet with gold bracelets on each of her risks to match. And her hair is styled to be wavy with a white hair band topped with a sparkly blue bow. For makeup, she has a nice shade of pink lipstick on her lips.
Lori (Twirls a bit): "I can't wait for my secret admirer to see me!" (Realizes something): "Wait…" (Turns to her sister): "Since you know him, Leni, why you didn't just tell me, who he is?"
Leni (Gets a bit nervous): "Well…it wouldn't be a…"
Just then, there's a knock on the sister's bedroom door.
Leni (Turns around and walks to the door): "He's here!"
Lori (Follows with a raised brow): "Shouldn't he be at the front door?"
Leni (Opens the door with a smile): "Surprise!"
Much to Lori's shock, it's not a cute teenage boy, but her younger brother, Lincoln, who is dressed in a dark blue short sleeve button shirt, black pants, and black shoes to match fastened with golden buckles. And his hair is gelled and combed down.
Lincoln (While holding a flower up): "Ready to go Lori?"
Lori: "Lincoln?! You're my secret admire?!"
Lincoln (Scratches his chin): "Well, I don't know what a secret admirer is. But I do know I want to take you to your prom."
Lori (Realizes): "Wait…" (Turns to her sister): "Leni?! Did you do all this?"
Leni: "Ummm…" (Takes a deep breath): "Sigh…yeah. But I felt sorry that no one asked you to the dance. And Linky wanted to help once I told him what happened and my idea."
Lori: "Sigh." (Takes a knee to her brother's height): "At least I'll be going with someone, who cares actually cares about me." (Takes the flower and pinches her brother on the cheek): "And I'll be going with the cutest boy I know."
Lincoln: "Pfft! Lori…" (Starts to blush): "Stop it!"
Leni and Lori (Finding this adorable): "Aww!"
Cut back to the present day…
Bobby (With a frown): "Hold on a second, I thought I was the cutest boy you know?!"
Lori (With a big smile): "No Boo-Boo Bear!" (Pinches her Boyfriend's cheek): "You're the cutest man I know!"
Bobby (Feeling better as a smile forms): "Aww!"
Lori (Looks over at the readers): "Literally…"
