Edward POV

The voyage is going quite well. It pains me to admit that it is thanks to Olivia's guidance, her knowledge of these waters and the behavior of her pirates kept us out of any danger. That made the trip slower because we must keep up with the pirate's ship.

"Captain" I heard a loud voice call out to me.

As I turned around, I noticed that a minotaur is approaching me. Funny to think that 70 years ago a minotaur approaching me would have put me on alert.

"What do you want Kaus?" I asked.

Kaus is an imposing minotaur at least 240 cm tall, with brown fur and black horns. He possesses long black hair. Like many of his race, his face is like that of a bull.

"I was just coming to ask how much time we have left before we reach our new target?" Kaus asked stopping near me.

"We should arrive before nightfall" I replied keeping my gaze on the horizon.

I took my spyglass and investigated the distance; I can already see a bit of Austria.

"I see. I must admit I'm a bit nervous" The timid tone of voice in which the minotaur spoke was not in keeping with his imposing appearance.

"Why?" That was a false question, for I already know the answer.

"You know very well why captain. If we minotaur's already have a hard time in Tamriel, I can't imagine in these new lands. According to reports, they are mostly dominated by humans and a species of elves" I nodded at his words.

"You need not fear attack, Juncell and the rest of the crew are here to defend you" Although looking at his body I wonder if he really needs defense, one of his arms is twice as thick as mine and I am someone imposing.

"I don't fear attacks, I may prefer books to weapons, but you don't grow up near Skyrim without knowing how to give and take blows. I fear the contempt they will show for me" The minotaur's gaze shifted to the horizon, his eyes seemed in an instant to fill with melancholy.

"I'm afraid we can do nothing in that case" It was my answer without any beating about the bush.

My prejudices towards other races are nil since I spent my entire childhood and adolescence trading all around Tamriel and the last few years, I spent trading with Akavir and Atmora to now trade with this new continent.

When you trade you must know your customers and by knowing them you can learn to understand them. As a result of that my prejudices towards other races are null and void and I see them all as an equal.

That's why when Juncell created his subway nation and made it his mission to gather all races in that place to live in harmony, I was one of the few madmen to have hope for that project. It took effect, Minotaur's like Kaus are no longer considered beasts.

That doesn't mean life for those races is easy, prejudice still exists and it's not uncommon in some parts of Tamriel to not let them into the cities.

"Anyway, aren't you used to that treatment?" I asked.

"Not really. I grew up in Fal'Zhardum Din, we pretty much all treat each other as equals in the place. Besides, the laws of the place prevent tourists and merchants arriving from outside from being offensive to other races... We'll be physically offensive; nothing stops them from talking or giving you disgusted looks. I hate that feeling" Explained the minotaur.

"I guess Juncell warned you and the others about these new lands not being kind to you?"

"Or if he told us, still, I decided to come along with the rest. I am afraid, that I will not deny, but I have been taught that fear should not stop me from doing things. Learning the history of new lands is something I can't pass up, no matter how badly I'm treated" I guess it's to be expected that he would say that. Juncell would never bring unfit people along on a trip like this.

"Then why are you telling me all this?" I asked somewhat confused, as our whole conversation had no point if he would accept the deal that will be given to him anyway.

"I just wanted to talk to you a bit" Pronounced the minotaur bringing one of his large hands towards the back of his neck and making an expression that I assume is one of embarrassment, it is very difficult to read the facial expressions of a minotaur "Talking to people is something I appreciate very much. His majesty Juncell likes to joke that it's my dragon blood that does that."

According to one myth, minotaur's are descended from Saint Alessia and the demigod Morihaus. Saint Alessia was a Dragonborn like Juncell and from what little you give the dragons thanks to Juncell, they have a great love for conversations and debates.

"Do you really have dragon blood?" I asked somewhat curious about that topic.

Kaus denied "No, some experiments have been done in Fal'Zhardum Din, if at some point we minotaur's had dragon blood, it probably got diluted with the passing of time. The experiment consisted of opening the Sky Haven Temple which can only be opened with dragon's blood. No minotaur could open the door" explained the minotaur.

That's a pity, I would have felt safer having another dragon in humanoid form on board "So you are not descended from Alessia?" I asked still curious.

"It's not something that can be confirmed or denied. Some experiments showed that we Minotaur's have a rather special blood that may be the vestiges of dragon blood or the divine blood of Morihaus."

I was about to ask him something else when I felt something vibrating in one of my pants pockets.

I pulled out from it the communication artifact created by Juncell.

The artifact is rectangular, measuring 157 mm high and 74 mm wide with 10 mm thickness. It is made almost entirely of dwarf metal, except for the front which has a 100 mm glass part and the other 57 mm are for buttons that seem to be made of Netch leather.

Juncell has not yet given it a name, as it is only a prototype.

A series of ten numbers can be seen on the display of the device. Those ten numbers are those that serve to intensify the artifact that is trying to initiate a communication with me, in this case it is the artifact that we gave to Olivia.

I pressed the button that allows to accept the communication demand, the artifact stopped vibrating to give way to the voice of the pirate "Hello, can you hear me!" shouted the woman making both Kaus and I had to cover our ears.

"I hear you; you don't need to yell so loud woman" I uttered in my pained voice.

"Wow so it does work. Anyway, I contact you because I don't plan to go any further, if I keep getting closer Austria will notice me and they will send their navy after me. They shouldn't have any problems with pirates this far from the kingdom anymore" I grimaced, not because of his words, but because of how loud his voice sounds through the artifact.

"I see, you're right, we shouldn't have a problem anymore. You will be called again when we need your service, we will call you a week in advance so you can prepare" I explained.

"Yes, I know, I don't have a bad memory... Hey, how do I cut this communication?" I let out an annoyed sigh. Before she had boarded her ship, we had taught her how to use the device, such seems her memory if bad.

"Just touch the red button" I pronounced.

She managed to cut the communication; I slipped the device into my pocket while still stroking my ears.

"I'll have to tell Juncell that this thing sounds too loud" I pronounced to myself.

"No doubt, I think half the ship heard that conversation, though few understood it, the language of these people is strange, it almost sounds like an alien language, in all the words that were said, I failed to recognize any kind of Ehlnofex base or Hist" I pronounced the minotaur.

From what I remember the Ehlnofex is the language from which almost all the languages spoken in Nirn descend and the Hist is where the Jel comes from which is the unique language of the Argonian "Is that so strange?" I asked not quite knowing what it implies that a language has no Ehlnofex basis.

"Very much so. Neither in Akavir nor in Atmora nor even in Yokuda does anything like that happen, only in Argonia and it is known to be the fault of Hist influence and not something natural. If these people speak a language that doesn't come from the Ehlnofex it means that something or someone made them create a new language" Kaus' voice is charged with a certain emotion "This is fascinating."

I just raised an eyebrow at his words "If you say so" It was all I could say.

"Captain, can you tell me what the predominant language in these lands is called?" asked Kaus.

"As I understand it is called Eostian. From its name I will assume it comes from Eostia, as to why it is the most spoken language in all these lands, I have no idea" I explained to the excited minotaur.

"Or that's extremely interesting... I forgot what I said before, I'm no longer nervous about touching land, I'm excited now. So much to discover. If you're looking for me, I'll be in my cabin preparing everything for my future research" Having said that the minotaur started to walk away almost running.

Well... As I understand it, Juncell brought a motley crew, each expert in a different subject that will be useful in these voyages. Kaus is the historian... A minotaur historian... the world did change after the second great war.

Olivia POV

Watch the ship in the distance approach Austria.

We had left them close enough that they could go the rest of the way without any complications other than those that the nobility of Austria would put on them.

I had the three diamonds they gave me analyzed. While I have a good eye for jewelry, I prefer to ask the opinion of a professional. According to her, the three diamonds are authentic and in every way they are perfect.

If we manage to sell them, we will get so much money that I am still having trouble thinking of what to spend it on.

There are three diamonds and by selling just one of them I can get enough money to donate a lot of supplies to the slums of Austria, with another one I can buy a better ship and armament. The third one I plan to keep in case I ever need money in a hurry.

If I hadn't basically sold part of my freedom, I would consider all this an excellent deal.

Also, there is this strange artifact they gave me, which they explained to me is for communicating with the people on the ships I am supposed to protect and only for that, since I can't communicate with anyone else who doesn't have a similar artifact.

I wish the voice coming out of the artifact was not so loud. Even from my cabin the girls were able to hear the man speak from anywhere on the ship.

"Where will we sell the diamonds?" I ask my second in command looking with absolute admiration at the three large diamonds.

"We will go with Ruiri" I pronounced.

My second in command stopped paying attention to the diamonds and looked straight at me "Are you sure? Ruiri is not our ally" she is right about that.

"We are not, but Ruiri is the one to sell you this kind of thing. If we sell the diamonds anywhere else we will get too many questions and the transition will take too long, the pirate lady of the trade will take them fast and not ask any questions" I take one of the diamonds in hand noting how beautiful it is.

"What's stopping you from attacking us and stealing from us?" Sometimes I forget that this second in command is new dealing with the other pirate ladies.

"Ruiri is the pirate lady of trade, a specialist in buying and selling illegally. All her power is based on trade, attacking us and stealing from us when we go to her for the purpose of trade will give her a bad reputation she doesn't want" I explained.

"I see, so let's go to her then, although I will prepare everyone for combat just in case" I nodded at that, better safe than sorry after all.

My second in command came out of my cabin.

I lied to her, Ruiri will ask questions, she will want to know where I got such diamonds, and it will be best to answer her because anyway she will be informed sooner or later of the arrival of the foreigners eager to trade.

But here's the kicker, when Ruiri learns of my dealings with them, she will most likely be willing to forget any ill will with me just so she can have some influence with the foreigners. That will be good for me.

Juncell POV

When we were a few hundred meters away from Austria we were intercepted by a local navy ship.

Normal considering that the Ocean Dragon is a giant ship with a lot of cannons and a flag they surely don't recognize, add to that they were not forewarned of our coming.

When the smaller ship arrived near us, a man appeared above all the others ready to speak "In the name of the Austrian navy and its queen Mireille Von Austria, I Admiral Klaus Ainhart demand to know who you are and why you are here" pronounced the man.

Klaus is a Caucasian man in his early twenties who is 174 cm tall, his hair is platinum blond reaching his ear, his eyes are crimson red. Physically, he is not a very muscular man, but seeing the way he stands I can guess that he knows how to swing a sword.

As with Olivia, Edward stepped forward to speak on my behalf. Klaus and his crew had various reactions to the sight of the Maomer.

While for someone from Tamriel a Mer or otherwise called an elf, is something that would surprise no one in this part of the world things seem to be different.

Their elves, according to all the descriptions that were given to me, have traits very close to humans, it is to the point that if an elf covers his ears, he can pass himself off as a human. In Tamriel even if an elf covers his ears and changes his skin color just by his facial features, people will identify him as an elf.

Those same distinctive features were what surely surprised Olivia the first time she saw Edward and it is what is surprising these men.

It varies by Mer type, but they generally have angular cheeks and high cheekbones, straight jawlines, arched and sleek eyebrows that look down.

A face that is still recognizable and distinguishable, contrary to others such as from the Minotaur's, Argonian and Khajiit, but still different enough from human that people who would never have seen it would be surprised.

"Greetings, Admiral Ainhart. I am Captain Edward Law and captained this ship known as the Ocean Dragon. We came to Austria by order of the man at my side, the king of Fal'Zhardum Din, Juncell Sahan" I introduce myself Edward in that language I do not know and from what an excited Kaus told me is a language that does not seem to descend from Ehlnofex.

It takes Klaus a few seconds to recover from the surprise caused by seeing Edward's unusual face, but he finally manages "I never heard of a kingdom called Fal'Zhardam Don" The mispronunciation of the name of my kingdom was obviously done on purpose.

"It's normal, it's a kingdom present in the continent of Tamriel" At the Maomer's words the Admiral raised an eyebrow.

A man approached him to whisper something in his ear and then broke off "So Tamriel What are the interests of a king coming from such a distant and mysterious continent?"

"Trade, King Juncell also owns the Sahan Trading Company, a trading company specializing in trade with other continents. We came to Austria to see if we can create some trade contracts" Edward explained to him.

I must admit it is quite annoying not understanding what they are saying to each other, I trust Edward completely, but it bothers me not knowing what this Klaus guy is saying. Other than what obvious sounds like names, I can't understand anything.

"How do I know he is telling the truth and they are not just a bunch of pirates trying to attack Austria?" asked the admiral.

Watch Edward make an expression I know well. He usually makes it when someone says something stupid.

"I would find it very strange to see a group of pirates with a ship like this, besides we don't look like pirates. if you don't trust us, then we can follow our route to the mainland, you would miss our trade proposals."

Klaus was about to reply something to Edward when the same man as before approached him to whisper something in his ear.

"I see. You will be allowed to arrive at the port, but it will be under close surveillance" Pronounced the admiral, to which Edward nodded "Follow us" Klaus ordered before his ship began to move back to Austria.

I approached Edward asking him to give me a summary of the entire conversation.

"Clearly, he did not seem to want our presence in the city. Something I understand seeing the omnipresence of pirates in the vicinity, what convinced him to let us arrive?" I asked the captain.

"The day I see a pirate with a ship, half as good as this one and with a crew as well dressed and armed, will be the day I decide to retire from sailing. In any case, it's true that he didn't seem to want to let us dock until they whispered in his ear" Edward replied.

"I suppose we will find out sooner or later, but, just as they will have an eye on us, we should also have an eye on them" Edward nodded at my words.

"I'll tell the men about the situation" Edward reported.

Several hours later, at last, we arrived at the port. It was somewhat difficult to do so with the size of the ship, but Edward's skills as a captain made it possible.

As soon as the ship was docked, a group of soldiers approached us at its front, Klaus, and a beautiful woman with golden hair.

"King Juncell Sahan, Captain Edward Law, may I present the Queen of Austria, Mireille Von Austria, first of her name" Klaus introduced her with the utmost respect.

Edward translated for me what he said and explained to the queen that I do not speak the local language.

Mireille is an incredibly beautiful woman, with white skin and eyes as blue as the sea, her hair looks like a golden waterfall down to her ass. She looks to be in her twenties. As for her body she is no slouch, her breasts are large and firm, and her hourglass shaped body gives her wide hips. Her outfit only makes her attributes stand out more.

She wears long boots that go up to above her knees, white pants that mold her legs to perfection and a blue captain's coat. It would be a normal outfit if at her chest level she didn't have the frock coat open, revealing half of her breasts.

"A pleasure to meet you your majesty" I uttered in Tamrielic, as I would not venture to try to say it in Eostian, gods know what kind of insult I would end up saying by speaking it wrong.

Edward translated what I said "The pleasure is all mine, your grace. My admiral here told me where you come from and your intentions here in Austria. But before we talk about these matters, we would like you to show all your crew and let my men check your cargo, it is simply a matter of security" The young queen spoke with a diplomatic tone.

Edward explained to me what they wanted, and I had no choice but to accept if I wanted them to let us stay here for the time to make some commercial contracts.

Hundreds of soldiers boarded the ship, while Edward gave the order to all the crew and passengers to get on the deck of the ship.

They all obeyed and the gasps and shouts of surprise from the people of Austria began.

The bad thing is that it was not only those reactions, as many pulled out guns and pointed them straight at the crew and passengers with more inhuman appearances.

They seemed to be able to accept the atypical Mer appearance, but it doesn't seem to be the same when it comes to Goblin, Minotaur's, Argonian, Khajiit and others.

Even the queen had drawn her sword and taking advantage of the proximity she pointed it at me, her expression now much, much less friendly than a few minutes ago "What is the meaning of this?" the queen shouted with authority.

Edward quickly translated her demand to me as he slowly moved his hand closer to her back where his trident rests.

"No weapons Edward, this is just a misunderstanding. I understand your confusion and fear Queen, but I must tell you that each of the people you see here come from Tamriel where they are normal races and accepted by the rest of the races" Well, that is partly a lie, in some nations they don't even let in some of the races present.

When Edward translated, the woman looked at me as if I was crazy "You live with monsters?" she pronounced.

"They are no more monsters than you or me. I can understand that in Serenus and its vicinity you do not have good relations with the local races that resemble the ones here, but you must understand that it is a physical resemblance only" I said trying to convince her.

She clearly didn't seem to be and continued to look at me and the others with the utmost distrust.

"An act is worth a thousand words" I pronounced "Please tell her that Kaus will be introduced to her" I asked Edward.

The Maomer obeyed and told the queen what I asked pointing at the minotaur. She raised an eyebrow at the sight of him "What talk to that beast?" she uttered "Minotaur's don't talk" she said with complete certainty.

"Kaus please present yourself for the queen" Edward asked the minotaur.

He looked confused and even pointed to himself to be sure he was being spoken to, when he saw us both nod, he knew he had to act, he swallowed a lump in his throat and cleared his strong voice a bit before speaking "My name is Kaus Taurk, I am 26 years old I am originally from Fal'Zhardum Din. I am a Historian, and I came on this journey with the goal of studying the history of these lands" The introduction almost felt like that of a child rather than a six-foot-tall Minotaur.

But that was enough to make the queen's mouth drop open wide, she clearly didn't understand anything he said, but she saw him speak as fluently as Edward and I speak.

"As I told you, in Tamriel none of these races are monsters, they are like you and me, people" I explained again to the queen, who had not yet looked away from Kaus.

She seemed to mull it over for several minutes before putting her weapon away "Nothing that is not human has the right to get off the ship while they are here, if any of them get off they will be executed" she said regaining her composure.

I would have preferred him not to give that limitation, but I am widely aware that it is the best I will get from these people.

"Understood your majesty" I replied.

While her men check our merchandise making sure we have nothing unusual the queen, Klaus, Edward and I were talking about the trade treaties we would like to make with Austria, contrary to Klaus who doesn't look so happy about this, the queen seems positively excited even though she occasionally looks with suspicion at the non-human races.

In the end it was well into the night, when the soldiers finished verifying and giving their verdict, apart from the things that obviously only exist in Tamriel they found nothing strange or worrisome.

"Your grace, I would like you to come with me to my castle, I would like to introduce you to my younger sister and my advisor" The queen spoke diplomatically.

"I would be happy to accompany you your majesty, Captain Edward will accompany us" I said.

"Of course, after all it would be somewhat complex to understand us without the presence of Captain Edward" she said with some humor.

Edward left the ship to the control of his second in command, while I approached the crew and passengers who were not entitled to leave the ship promising them that I would bring them some things to make me forgive myself for not being able to have negotiated a better deal for them.

After that we both left accompanied by about six human crew members who would function as our guard in case things took a nasty turn.

Klaus/Vanclaude POV

Now I'm not sure whether to start my plan today. This week has been a strange one. My plan to capture Olivia Scarlett had failed, the golden rose pirate had not taken the route she usually takes and consequently we were unable to ambush and capture her.

Consequently, I was unable to take revenge on that son of a bitch Scarlett by raping her offspring, and now these foreigners arrive.

I was not planning to let them arrive in Austria until Girardot, my second in command, told me that having the ship of these foreigners would be very beneficial to my project of becoming the king of the seas again as I had been 100 years ago.

The plan was simple, let them arrive and Mireille with her stupid kindness invite them all to her castle, the foreigners tired from their long journey would accept and their beautiful ship would barely have people inside, then my men would only have to take the ship and all easy.

But now it turns out that damn 90% of the crew are monsters and they all stayed on the ship along with the other humans, making it impossible for my men to take it.

I'm still left with the possibility of capturing their captain and king to make the crew surrender and sedate the ship to me. That would be an easy thing to do considering that almost everyone in Austria is under my command.

I am Vanclaude, 100 years ago I was the infamous king of the seas, the most powerful pirate of all, but I was betrayed by three of my men, the three bastards divided my treasure and did their thing with it. Mireille, Olivia and Ruiri are the descendants of those bastards.

For a century my soul traveled the seas until one day I found the dying body of Klaus Ainhart who turned out to be one of my descendants. Thanks to that bond I was able to possess Klaus' body while his soul left him.

Having the body of the Austrian admiral made it easy to infiltrate his government, gain allies and put almost all the queen's men under my power.

My plan is, to take revenge on the descendants of those damned traitors and retake my place as the king of the seas.

Today I was supposed to start my plan, which consisted in getting myself captured by men loyal to me, take advantage of Mireille's stupid infatuation for the late Klaus to lure her alone into a trap and thanks to that take over the kingdom and then rape the bitch and her little sister in front of the whole kingdom who is just waiting for a chance to rebel anyway.

But that ship appeared and now I don't know whether to carry out my plan.

Maybe I can join them to me, it would certainly be more profitable for them to plunder Austria, than to trade with this decaying kingdom... But there is the possibility that they won't want to join me and then they will be enemies. I have never seen a ship so large and with so many cannons, it certainly doesn't seem to be something to underestimate, and its crew composed largely of monsters don't seem to be either.

Sure, I have more troops, but as Olivia never tires of demonstrating having more men and ships doesn't necessarily mean you can get the victory.

That's another problem, Olivia will come to the rescue of the Austrian people when I take control of the place, and Ruiri will see his trade endangered, so I'm sure to support Olivia.

There is a reason why I wanted to get rid of Olivia first, so that after conquering Austria I would only have to worry about Ruiri, who is more of a trader than a captain and therefore easier to defeat than anyone else.

As for the third and mysterious pirate lady... I already have my idea of who she might be and if all had gone well, I would most likely have been able to take her down along with Mireille.

Damn I hated these damn unforeseen events.

I'll have to wait and see how it goes with these foreigners; I shouldn't have listened to that idiot Girardot.
