Kaminari shivered in the moonlight as a strong fall breeze blew past him. The pain continued to shoot through his stomach. How did he get here? Why didn't he listen to his friends? Why did he have to be such an idiot? However, he could keep his eyes open much longer, but before they shut, he saw the most stunning pair of amethyst eyes looking at him. The yellow-haired boy saw his mouth moving but heard nothing out of his mouth. His vision soon started to fade as he felt a pair of lips on his and something slide into his mouth. He swallowed the foreign substance before his vision went completely dark.
"Denki Kaminari!" Kaminari's head shot up at the sound of his name being called. He looked to see his teacher, Shota Aizawa, angrily looking at him with the rest of the class, "Make sure you get proper rest before school starts next time."
"Yes, Aizawa Sensei," Kaminair said with his head hung low. Some of his classmates start to snicker at him quietly.
"Ok, now..." Aizawa continued with the lesson for the day. School came and went. Kaminari stepped outside of the building and towards the freedom of the weekend. Some of the Fall leaves floated around him in the gentle breeze, in vibrant reds, oranges, yellows, and browns. Halloween was tomorrow, which meant parties, candy, and costumes. He loved the spooky season. It was the only time he could get away with scaring people, well, except Bakugo. While the angry pomeranian also loved the spooky season, he tended to blow up whoever attempted to scare him. Denki shivered when he remembered how his greenette classmate described what happened the last time someone tried to scare him. The blonde was so deep in thought that he didn't see where he was going. He ended up bumping into a certain sleep-deprived purple-haired boy, knocking the book out of his hands. Kaminari noticed that the pages had weird symbols and words, but he didn't have the time to ask about them. Shinsou had picked up the book and held it close to his chest by then. The two boys stood up and stared at each other with slight blushes on their faces.
"Sorry about that," Kaminari said, scratching the back of his neck.
"It's fine," Shinsou replied before quickly walking away. However, he stopped and turned back around, "Hey, wanna hang out this Halloween?"
"Yeah, I would love that."
"Great, I'll text you the location," Shinsou said before continuing to read the book while walking away. After Shinsou was out of earshot, he cheered with excitement and ran back to the dorms. He ran straight to his friend's room to tell her the news.
"Mina! Mina! MINA!" Kaminari said while banging on the door to her room. Soon, the door swung open, revealing his pink-skinned bestie.
"You better have a good reason for banging at my door at this time," Mina replied. She liked to relax in her room after class to recharge socially before the weekend, so knocking on her door at this time of day meant you had big news.
"Shinsou asked me to hang out tomorrow night," the blonde blurted out.
"WHAT?!" the girl screamed before grabbing the boy into her room, "What do you mean her asked you to hang out tomorrow night?!" Kaminari went on to explain what had happened in the hallway just a few minutes prior. Mina paced around her room. "Kaminari, you do know what happens a lot of Halloween, right?"
"No. Tell me."
"Every year, on Halloween, many people get attacked, hurt, or worst, go missing. So I don't know if you should go."
"But this is Shinsou we're talking about here, the boy I've been crushing on since our first year. And now you're telling me not to go just because of a few accident reports?!" Kaminari shouted. Mina took a deep breath before answering.
"Its not just that. Shinsou is a weird kid. He is always carrying that stupid book around and protecting it. On top of that, he is sits by himself and occasionally speaks in a wierd language no one has ever heard before. He is just plan weird. I don't know what you see in him," Kaminari was shocked that his best friend would say anything about his crush. She had always been supportive of his crush on the boy, but since he started acting differently last Halloween, her opinion changed, too. "Sorry Kaminari, but I'm nearly stating facts." Kaminari just sighed and walked toward the door. He opened the door, but before he walked out the door, he spoke.
"I don't care what you, Mina. I'm going to see him, whether you like it or not," And with that, he slammed the door shut.
The rest of that day and the next, Kaminari didn't talk to Mina so much that the rest of the class started to notice. They ended up asking Mina what had happened. "Shinsou ended up asking him to hang out on Halloween night. I told him not to go. However, that just resulted in us arguing. And he's still planning on going." Everyone was shocked and worried for Kaminari. Well, almost everyone. Ever since then, Kaminari has been receiving messages from his friends and classmates not to go, but he ignored their pleas. He was going regardless. So that night, he snuck past his classmates and out the school's front gate. He started walking down the road and past an alleyway. Then, he suddenly stopped in his tracks when he heard a cry for help. Without thinking, he ran into the alleyway to find no one there. However, before he could walk back out, he felt a sharp pain in his abdomen. He looked down to see a knife and blood seeping from the wound. Denki stumbled back against the wall while his head spun. He did manage to punch the guy right in the cheek, knocking him out. Now, he was slumped against the wall bleeding out.
