This is the First Halloween special that I have created! Watch as all of our favorite Boss Ghosts have adventures of the Halloween kind! Be sure to enjoy the story!
Finally, finally, finally!!! It is time for one of the greatest seasons that the Last Resort hotel had enjoyed, the season of Halloween! Well, it already was Halloween.
But who cares!?! The leaves were changing, the ground was crisp, and there was a charming way that made the everyone love fall!
Or at least almost everyone.
Steward sat at his desk, seemingly in a state of despair due to one thing: other than Christmas, this was one of the busiest times of the year. Tons of people came to the Last Resort to celebrate the holiday, and that meant the staff had to overtime their working hours. Even ghosts like King Macfrights who didn't work a lot had to deal with the many people.
Also, since Halloween was here, that meant Steward had to deal with candy for visiting children, decorations, and all the other shit that was brought to you by Halloween.
Steward didn't hate the holiday, he tried his hardest to enjoy himself, but let's face it, when you're dealing with a lot of mishaps and the chaos that the holiday brung, it was hard to relax.
Plus, with E. Gadd absent for the holiday doing God knows what, Steward got minus one helpful person around.
Steward continued to sulk while still hoping that he wasn't attracting any attention, when Chambrea floated on over with a giant box and took something out of it.
"Here you go Steward!" Chambrea placed a scented candle that had the scent of apple pie on Steward's desk. "I know that you are in a tiny bit of a mess with work, so I got you a candle!"
"Oh, thanks!" Steward gladly accepted the gift with gratitude and went back to work, so Chambrea began to leave, but she paused.
"Wait, do you want me to get you something to snack on? I heard Chef Soufflé created this new pastry that is apparently really popular now! I was just about to go get me one, but do you want to try one?"
"I'll take one! Gee, thanks Chambrea!" Steward thanked his coworker and was about to go back to his paperwork, but then he noticed an argument going on between Amadeus Wolfgiest and Johnny Deepend. Wanting to have peace and quiet in the hotel, Steward tried to stop the feuding ghosts, even if it meant getting involved with a rageaholic pianist and a buff dumbass.
Chambrea had made it to the second floor, and right there, she noticed a terribly long line to this new autumn pastry. Chambrea herself had never tasted the said pastry, but because her foodie instincts were kicking in, Chambrea waited in the line for a bite of fall heaven.
Surprisingly, the line had moved up faster than Chambrea thought, and before she knew it, when she was close enough to the smell, she couldn't wait to try to get the pastry. Chambrea's mouth was literally watering.
"Pay, take one, two or three, and go!" Chef Soufflé shouted into a megaphone that he borrowed from Ginny. "Take ze pastry and enjoy!"
"Oh goodness Soufflé! You certainly drew quite the crowd!" Chambrea exclaimed and paid for two of the pastries. "What is it?"
"It's a new pastry zat I call a pumpkin bun! It's made with flavors zat compliment ze season of Halloween!" Soufflé puffed his chest up proudly. "Well, try it!"
Chambrea took a small bite of the pumpkin bun, but the instant she did, delicious pumpkiny flavors overtook her mouth, and Chambrea couldn't help but scarf the pumpkin bun down.
"Oh WOW!!! You outdid yourself! This is so good!!!" Chambrea praised while eating. "Excuse my manners, but this pastry is exactly what fall tastes like! Just, WOW!"
"I know, I'm ze masterful chief zat creates food for everyone, and I was not going to miss out on creating ze Halloween special!" Soufflé beamed. "I certainly want to show ze people of zis hotel zat Chef Soufflé creates good food!"
"Cool! Can I get five more?" Chambrea put a couple of coins on the paying table. Soufflé took the money and gave more pumpkin buns to Chambrea.
"Oh, I'm going to be rich!" Soufflé cheered to himself and when Chambrea floated away from the room and back to Steward, he went back to the ridiculously long line.
Chambrea was floating back to Steward with excitement and wanted him to try this new pumpkin bun, so she hurried to the desk of her coworker.
Steward, this time, was in a better mood due to Chambrea and he was excitedly waiting for her. The line to the pumpkin bun was getting so long that it was reaching to the stairs, and Steward had noticed. If an autumn pastry could create that big of a line, then it had to be delicious.
"I'm baaack!" Chambrea put a napkin and a pumpkin bun in front of Steward who had couldn't wait no longer to try it.
"That's- that's so amazing!" A twinkle in Steward's ghostly eyes formed as he munched on the pumpkin bun. "No wonder this is so popular! Thanks!"
"Soufflé put so much good feelings into that pumpkin bun, it makes me want to buy a ton of those little things! *gasp* That's it! I'm going to buy a bunch of the pumpkin buns and create a huge stash!"
"That's, uh, a unique idea." Steward really though the that the idea was a bit dumb because the pumpkin buns would go stale after a while. But Steward didn't want to hurt Chambrea's feelings, especially right after she had made him feel better about Halloween.
"Thanks! Now I'm going to go buy all the pumpkin buns that I can until I need to unhinge my jaws!" Chambrea excitedly floated of and to the back of the line for the pumpkin buns.
In a corner not to far away from Steward's desk, Captain Fishook stood menacingly with an evil grin across his face. He had overheard what Chambrea had said, so Fishook knew what he had to do: gather the gang for a mission.
As the captain made his way to the elevator, he was thinking that the only way to get free pumpkin buns was through Chambrea. Fishook had tried the pastry, and he loved it! If he could break his way into this new stash, he would be happier than Dr. Potter on a sunny Sunday.
Fishook hit the button to the sixth floor to get his buddy King Macfrights. The king would be of service in order to get the pumpkin buns because-. Because... Okay, Fishook just wanted to involve his friend.
The captain got to Castle Macfrights in a short time and he expected to hear the sounds of King Macfrights's sword training grunts, or maybe the bagpipes, but this time, the entire floor was quiet.
Huh, maybe he's sleeping. Fishook thought. The theory wasn't proved yet, but luckily for the captain, there was a Slinker castle guard on a lunch break.
"Oi! Hey mate, why is it so quiet?" Fishook asked the Slinker, who smiled with joy. "Tell me, do you believe in miracles?"
"Um, sometimes?" Fishook answered but was unsure why the guard had asked the question. "Listen to this: the king isn't asleep!"
By then Fishook had decided to start believing more miracles, because how the hell could King Macfrights be awake and silent at the same time?!? But also, what was the king doing if he's awake?
"He's awake? What is Mac doing though?" Fishook just had to know. It's certainly not every day that Macfrights isn't annoying.
"The king is... uh, working out."
The pirate couldn't help but burst out into laughter upon hearing King Macfrights exercising!?! Just how would the dwarf be able to pick up the weights, or do a push-up without falling, just how was Macfrights exercising?!?
"Good one mate!" Fishook kept laughing until he realized that the guard was staring at him with seriousness.
"Wait, so you're serious?"
"Of course I'm being serious! You'll be surprised that that was Macfrights's idea!" The guard sighed with irritation, for every time someone heard that the king was exercising, they had a somewhat not so serious reaction and would laugh.
"Okay, so Mac is working out huh? That's nice, I'm going to talk to him." Fishook floated towards the gate, but was stopped by the Slinker guard.
"Hold up, did the king ask to see you? Did you send in a request to see him, or did you just invite yourself?"
"Nah mate, I'm not a guest, I work on the twelfth floor and King Macfrights is one of my dear comrades."
"Oh sorry sir! I'm new here and yet I never thought that I would be LARPing as a king's guard for money,"
"It's okay mate, and everyone working on the more non hotel like floors always say that. Later!" Captain Fishook floated into the castle where he saw King Macfrights attempting to lift a giant weigh, but was unsuccessful.
"Oi! Mac!" Fishook raised his fin and tried to do something what people today called a high five. Fishook had a fin, but that didn't matter.
"Well hello Fishook! Why do ya look puzzled?" Macfrights asked. "Ya acting like I have gone insane!"
"My actions? It's my face not actions Mac! Also, why did ya decide to work out?" Fishook needed to get an answer.
"I've been gettin sick of people calling me a dwarf, or shortie and even one time someone put my photograph next to the one's of an ant and asked what the difference of the two photos were! One soul had the audacity ta that they were the same photo! So yeah, I need to look stronger!" Macfrights tried to flex his arms, but he couldn't get the noodleness out of them.
"Anyway, I came here to tell ya that Chambrea is making a stash of the new pumpkin buns that Soufflé created, and I want you to help me get them!"
"Ya know what? Screw exercising, I'm going to spend time with you!" Macfrights tossed a dumbbell aside which turned out to be a bad idea because, well it's a dumbbell.
"Okay, we need to get Serpci. Come along Mac!" The duo happily made their way to the tenth floor knowing that Serpci would help them. Sure, the pharaoh of the desserts was a lot on the nice side, but when she wanted to be, she could be a loyal and sometimes mischievous ghost. That would surely help the captain and king.
As the duo entered the Tomb Suites, they noticed that the hallway was covered in rose petals, instead of a lavender scent, a cinnamon scent was wafting through the air, and the vibe was so peaceful.
"Alright, we need ta get Serpci and then get our pumpkin buns! Come along!" Macfrights called out. The two ghosts made their way to the pyramid and when they opened the door, they found Serpci meditating.
"Oh! Uh, hello guys!" Serpci sheepishly got up from her yoga mat which E. Gadd recommended for her to use while meditating. Serpci didn't know the issue on the table, but she knew that every time Captain Fishook and King Macfrights were involved with something, things were bound to go wrong.
"Hey Serpci, did you try the pumpkin buns that Soufflé made?" Fishook asked. "I have something on my mind that has to do with that and Chambrea."
"Yes! I tried the pumpkin buns and they are amazing! But what does that have to do with Chambrea?" Serpci questioned.
"I overheard Chambrea was going to create a secret stash of pumpkin buns and we need to know the location so we can have infinite pastries!" Fishook declared and Macfrights clapped his hands with excitement.
"Ooh! The pumpkin buns are delicious, so I agree to this idea of finding this pastry stash!"
The trio gleefully jumped up and down with joy knowing that they could get all the pumpkin buns they wanted for free! But...
"Wait, how do we find this stash?" Macfrights asked Fishook. "You know that Chambrea is fond of food, so she would probably go all out finding a secret spot for this stash."
"I'm sure it won't be that hard! I think."
After an hour of searching, the trio had absolutely no luck at finding the secret pumpkin bun stash. They all met up in the grand lobby of the hotel, seeing in each other's faces that no one could find the stash.
"Did anyone find it! Or maybe clues, hints, anything!" Serpci desperately asked. "I've searched everywhere and I can't find anything! Everywhere! Even the eleventh floor, but the triplets kicked me out for invading their home."
"Listen, I've got nothin! Not even a hint or clue!" Macfrights exclaimed.
"Same here," Fishook slumped downwards with disappointment. "There's got to be a way to find that stash!"
As the trio all flopped onto the grand lobby's couches, they sulked with sorrow and knew that they could never get their autumny treat. Chambrea floated over carrying freshly dried bedsheets to the elevator, passing by the couch but that gave Fishook an idea.
"Guys, follow me." He used his hook to swipe a bedsheet from the ghost maid, and had the group follow Chambrea.
"Hey Chambrea!" G waved his fin, "Ya have a moment?"
"Yes actually! I was just about to go on my break!" Chambrea put down the bedsheets in her arms on a desk nearby.
"Follow me, this is a bit private." Fishook whispered. "Just a moment."
"Okay?" Fishook led Chambrea and the group into the closet.
"So, what's up?" Chambrea asked. All of a sudden, she couldn't see anymore! Fishook shoved the maid into the bedsheet, as Macfrights and Serpci watched in horror. They didn't know Fishook's plan, so naturally they were shocked.
"Ohmigod! Serpci squeaked. "You're going to wrap Chambrea up in bedsheets! Why!?!"
"All part of the plan!" Fishook reassured his friend. "I'm not going to hurt her or anything!"
"But this is certainly unnecessary! There are certainly better ways to find where the stash is!"
"Did you say stash?!?" Chambrea shouted in the bedsheets. "Let me out Serpci, you too Mac!"
"I personally agree with Fishook! Ya gotta do what ya gotta do ta get the truth out out someone!" Macfrights sided with Fishook and ditched his shocked feelings. Shows that he doesn't know anything about logic.
"Oh come on guys! This is the work of complete imbeciles! We can just ask you know! Maybe Chambrea will just tell us where the stash is!"
"Nah, Fishook's plan is more fun!" Macfrights shot down Serpci's suggestion and continued to help his pirate friend capture Chambrea who kept on wiggling and squirming to escape.
"Serpci, help!!!"
Chambrea couldn't see anything until she felt her butt plop down on a chair? She felt ropes being tied around her waist and when she was unblinded, she was in Serpci's bedroom with Fishook, Macfrights and a nervous for Chambrea Serpci around her.
"Do we got to be this cruel?" Serpci asked her pirate friend.
"So!" Fishook raised his fin in the air, paused and looked around for a place to slam it on. He then slammed his fin on Serpci's sarcophagus and resumed the interrogation.
"Where is your secret stash of pumpkin buns?"
"This is seriously about the pumpkin buns? You overheard me about the stash? This is so stupid!" Chambrea angrily gritted through her teeth. "The stash just started and so far I only have five pumpkin buns!"
"Ya didn't answer the question!" Macfrights shouted.
"Come on Chambrea!" Fishook hissed.
"Uh, you want some relaxing tea?" Serpci offered.
Chambrea's head began to spin faster than ever as she knew that she was being interrogated by two idiots and comforted by Serpci. Both women knew that Fishook and Macfrights wouldn't stop the interrogation until they got an answer.
"Listen," Fishook began, "I get you're probably more terrified than anything since I've just somewhat kidnapped you."
"Of course!"
"But I will reassure you," Fishook continued, "If you knew me while I was alive you would know that I only kidnap and interrogate people and make them walk the plank if they were truly evil, and I know you are not evil."
"T-thanks?" Chambrea raised an eyebrow upon hearing Fishook's kidnapping record.
"So where is the stash!?!"
"Ugh! You're not going to give up are you?" Chambrea groaned. "Please let me out! Someone! Anyone!"
As if on cue, the door to Serpci's bedroom busted open by Steward and Chef Soufflé who wielded weapons. Steward holding a suitcase and Soufflé raising a pan above his head, ready to beat some ass.
"Kidnapping and interrogation huh? You three andouilles! I don't care zat you are trying to get ze free pumpkin buns, I care zat you kidnapped Chambrea!" Soufflé growled with anger.
"Same for me! This is completely against the rules!" Steward shouted. "Let Chambrea go!"
"But she was trying to cheat her way inta free pumpkin buns!" Macfrights seethed. "Ya wouldn't want Chambrea ta get all the pastries she wants for free do ya?"
"Hold up, how was Chambrea trying to get moi pumpkin buns?"
"She was creating a secret stash for only herself to have, and we want some of that!" Fishook yelled.
"And how did Chambrea get her pumpkin buns?"
"She bought them." Fishook replied. "But she's trying to create a stash, so we need to get some pumpkin buns if Chambrea's making a stash!"
Soufflé, Steward and Serpci sighed. The captain and king were creating triplet like shenanigans, and they were taking everything out on poor Chambrea.
"And Chambrea bought the pumpkin buns! They're hers and she could do whatever she wants with her pumpkin buns! Just untie Chambrea!"
Fishook and Macfrights sulked as they untied their captive, who immediately ran to Serpci for a hug.
"Serpci, you were the only one who was against this interrogation, so thank you, thank you!" Chambrea praised. Serpci, who wasn't exactly used to hugs, just hesitated for a bit, but then accepted the sign of acceptance. Or just a hug.
"So, uh, are we fired or anything?" Macfrights nervously asked.
"Unfortunately, no." Steward sighed. "You two just have fanfiction plot armor, so I must keep you guys for future stories."
"Hell yeah!"
The group of ghosts separated pretty quickly, with Serpci going back to her sarcophagus for a nap, Fishook went to his good ol' ocean floor, Macfrights went back to his castle, Soufflé went back to his kitchen, and Steward and Chambrea went to the Grand Lobby for work.
They passed by Johnny Deepend on the way, and he had plenty of plans for his Halloween.
Next chapter time!
