i'm sick on halloween but told you to go have fun at the party anyway but instead you surprised me with a blanket fort, tons of candy and all my favourite scary movies
Thanks to everyone who read, commented and favourited/left kudos on the stories. Happy birthday to me, and happy Halloween!
"I'm sorry you're going to miss the party," Fred said and Hermione smiled sadly at him. "Are you sure you don't want me to stay with you?"
"I'm sure, Fred," Hermione said, hugging the blankets closer to her body. "You should go, have fun; you talked about the party non-stop since Lee announced it."
Fred frowned, and Hermione knew he was feeling bad for her. It wasn't his fault; it's actually hers, since she was the one who was sick with a cold, and is going to miss the best Halloween party the seniors are throwing. Hermione wasn't going to let her boyfriend miss it.
"Doesn't feel right to let you here alone," Fred said, still sitting next to her on the couch. "I feel like a bad boyfriend if I go to the party."
"I'm not going to be alone, my mum is here and she's going to take care of me." Hermione stopped talking because of her coughing. "Please, don't miss the party because of me. I would feel awful."
"I'll take good care of my daughter, Fred, don't worry," Emma Granger said, entering the living room and smiling at the couple on the couch. "You should go, if you want to go to the party."
Hermione smiled, knowing that Fred wasn't going to deny anything to her mum. She was going to miss him, but she didn't want Fred to miss a party just because of her being sick.
Sighing, Fred stood up. "Fine, I know when I'm being dismissed." He sighed dramatically, and Hermione laughed at the sight; her mum loved Fred and he knew it. "Can I call you later? Just to know if you're better?"
"Of course you can, and tell me all about the party, please?" Hermione asked in a small voice, not wanting him to feel bad.
Fred smiled softly at her, "Always, love," he said, before kissing her forehead and walking towards the door. "Walk me out, Mrs G?"
Emma just smiled at him, before walking towards the door. Hermione sighed, before turning herself into a blanket burrito. She always was a little cranky when she got the flu, and now missing the best party of the year, she was cranky as hell.
Deciding to sleep and call it a day, Hermione turned into the couch and took a nap. She woke up not a while later, when she felt someone looking at her; opening her eyes, she was surprised to see Fred.
"What are you doing here? You were supposed to be at the party," Hermione groaned, feeling warm inside at the sight of her boyfriend.
"I was going to, but when I remembered you here all by yourself, I decided that I wanted to spend some time with my beautiful girlfriend instead." Fred smiled at her, before showing her a bag by his side. "I also felt like you needed to be cheered up.
"So I brought all your favourite candies—reeses, twix, milk-ways, milk-dudes—and your favourite scary movies," Fred made a face at her, making Hermione smile, "which translates to 'Hocus Pocus' and 'Nightmare Before Christmas', which aren't scary at all."
"Baby Hermione thought they were," Hermione replied, smiling softly at him. "You didn't have to do all of that."
"I know, but I wanted to." Fred shrugged, before sitting next to her. "I'm also going to make a blanket fort, as soon as your mum comes back with the blankets."
Hermione felt tears welling in her eyes, her heart full of love for the beautiful man in front of her. Grabbing his shirt, Hermione brought him towards her and kissed him to her heart's content.
"I love you, thank you for doing this," Hermione whispered in his lips, kissing him again.
It wasn't the Halloween she thought she was going to celebrate, but Hermione was happier just to have Fred by her side. She was the luckiest girl in the world.
