Author's Note:WHAT IS UP MUCKAAACHUNGAAAAS!? It's Travez, and today I'm going to be taking my first dive back into My Hero Academia in months, and I would like to make a few shoutouts to a few people on Discord from the Discord Server known as the BNHA Arcade: Sugar Biscuit and Blueiscuteio, otherwise known as Eclairiko and Ochako respectively! These two are the main reasons that I was able to get this story off the ground and it was thanks to them that I managed to get this story off the ground as it has! With that said…
This story is going to have quite a few trigger warnings in it, and the biggest few will be in this chapter already, so please know that I don't, under any circumstances, approve of anything I have written in here, in my stories or any other… Hell I even threw up more than a few times while getting through one big part of it in order to set up a major conflict with this story! So this is your first, last, and only warning, there will be things in this prologue chapter that will definitely trigger a large number of you guys, and while it was necessary to set up the story, I'm sick to my stomach that I actually had to do this to keep to the lore of the Yokai of Japan.
With that out of the way, this story was originally inspired by the Symbiotic relationship that certain species of frogs have with tarantulas here in the new world, and it's actually something I tried once before in my "Spiderman" story almost a year ago. However, this time, I'm taking a whole new twist on things, and actually narrowing down a few things to make it far more believable this time. Aside from this, I'm going to say this is my darkest story that I have done so far, not counting the times I attempted doing Berserk Fanfictions. However, with the aid of Sugar and Blue, I am determined to get this story through for as long as I can.
Now, for the last time, I know the content in this Prologue chapter will most definitely trigger a large number of you guys, but please believe me, it's to set up the primary emotional conflict for him. I would also like you to know that I did take inspiration from Japanese Folklore, and the fact that Izuku happens to live in the same province as my oc's inspiration was something I couldn't pass up, and then one thing lead to another… Anyway, that is enough out of me. Please be sure to Follow, Favorite, Review, and Share this story with anyone and everyone you know who likes My Hero Academia Content. Catch ya on the Flipside! SMAAAAAASH!
Prologue: Jorogumo
Inko Midoriya smiles as she walks through the streets carefully rubbing her hand on her swelling belly as she hears a scream, the woman turning her head to see a little girl standing in fear as a small creature stands in the middle of the road, and everyone is scared. "Get back, it's venomous!" A man says, pulling people aside.
"Anansi!" The little girl says, trying to get to what turns out to be a Sapphire Gooty Tarantula. "Leave him alone!" One of the adults rushes over lifting his foot. "NO!" However, that is when suddenly the spider floats away quickly, and everyone looks to see Inko walking over, using small hand movements to bring the spider to her hands.
"Lady, don't touch that thing! That thing is toxic!"
"Calm down! The spider won't hurt you unless threatened…!" Inko says, gently letting the tarantula land in her hands. She then moves one hand over the Tarantula to give it some shade. "Is this your spider, little girl?"
"Y-Yes!" The girl says, walking over as she gently holds open the little carrying tank for it.
"Remember…" She gently lowers the Tarantula down into the tank, where it retreats into it's hide. "Tarantulas don't like the light!"
"Th-Thank you! You saved Anansi!" The little girl says, shedding tears with a smile, but then looks stunned. "What's that?" She holds the case to her ear. "Okay I'll tell her!" She smiles as she looks at Inko. "Anansi asked me to tell you he said thank you, and that your courage despite your fear will be your son's best trait!"
"Your spider said that?"
"My quirk allows me to talk to spiders!" The little girl says, smiling, to which she then lifts the case to her ear again. "Anansi also says that your son will need a strong and brave mother to help with the challenges that lie ahead! So don't give up on your boy, no matter how scary he may seem!" Inko looks at the little girl, a bit stunned, but then smiles.
"Thank you, and I hope Anansi will live a long and happy life in your care!" Inko says, in which the little girl's parents call her over, and she rushes off with her spider…
Some Time Later, March 23rd…
Inko wakes from the exhaustion of birth, and she smiles as she looks to see the doctors come in with nervous smiles on their faces. "Doctor? Where's my baby?"
"He's fine, he's been taken to the Maternity Ward right now!" Doctor Maki Tsubasa says, "However, you should take it easy for a bit, as the strain of giving birth to such a boy has put a strain on your body."
"Strain how?" Inko asks.
"Well…" He then shows her a video of what her son looks like, and her eyes widen with shock to see her son's Quirk was actually active the moment he was born… But it's not what she was expecting… His lower body, from his waist down, was that of a spider! "He is truly a beautiful baby boy, Mrs. Midoriya, and quite unique too, it's rare to see that level of mutation in a child!"
"Mutation? But my husband has a Fire-Breathing Quirk and I have Telekinesis!" Inko says, shocked.
"Trust me, we ran tests on this, and it appears those traits are still in your boy, but it seems they randomly mutated into something new. So don't you worry about your son, he is still your husband's boy. His mutation, however, may have some unfortunate ramifications in the future though."
"Such as?" Inko asks.
"You do know what Shizuoka is famous for in folklore, correct?" Dr. Tsubasa asks. Inko looks down and wracks her brain for a second, only to remember a certain Yokai being famous in this prefecture. "The Jorogumo, or Prostitute Spider… I suggest you prepare for such bullying of your son once he gets older. However, I can say for certain his quirk will turn out to be fascinating indeed, especially considering what it may look like once molts a few times."
"What do you mean?" Inko asks.
"All I can say is get ready for something truly exquisite once he starts to grow!" Dr. Tsubasa says. "So let's begin with the tale of the Jorogumo, it entails the idea of a female predatory spider yokai who seduces men into becoming it's prey, it uses it's beauty to entrance the men to come to her lair so that she can eat them. Now I know that may cause people to start talking about him, but it does give us a basis on where to start with his care and diet. For starters, Spiders are consummate carnivores, so having a high protein diet will be necessary for him, so making sure he has a lot of meat, fish, and other protein rich foods will ensure that he remains healthy and strong. Also, spiders, especially tarantulas, tend to like darker places, so making sure his room is sufficiently dark will help him relax as he grows up. So using red colored lights, which aren't as bright or glaring as full spectrum lights."
"Aside from that, ensure his room is large enough for him to move around or even climb up on the ceiling, it will help ease any anxiety problems that will occur due to the face he'll be able to hide somewhere. Also, when he is older, I'll have a friend of mine prescribe to him prescription sunglasses so that he doesn't go blind." Doctor Tsubasa explains, "However, I should also warn you that, due to prior experience, when his fangs grow in, he'll need to occasionally chew on something because his fangs will itch. I should also tell you to keep in mind that when he starts spinning silk, he may have some "accidents" like a child going through potty training." He smirks, "He may also begin molting, and when he does so, be extremely careful with him, as a spider, directly after it molts, is extremely vulnerable, and so give him protein shakes and water, but avoid anything with chocolate, trust me on this one." Inko sees that the doctor gives her a little notebook with all his notes for her to ensure Mikumo gets the best care possible, the mother nodding as she reads them.
A Few Hours later… Inko is allowed to see her son, her husband glaring at the boy. "He's so beautiful!" Inko says, seeing her baby boy having beautiful sapphire blue hair, and when he opens his eyes, they are beautiful metallic gold in color, but they are only open for an instant. His spider body also carries what appears to be a mix of sapphire blue and metallic gold coloring. Hisashi looks at the boy and just glares at him. "Don't you think so, honey?"
"Tch…" Hisashi says.
"Hisashi?" Inko asks, to which Hisashi just walks off. "Hisashi, whats wrong?"
"I'm leaving!" Hisashi says.
"What?" Inko asks.
"You can raise that monster if you want, but I want nothing to do with him!" Hisashi says.
"Hisashi, how can you say that about your own son!?" Inko says, shocked and appalled.
"That thing is not my son! He may share my blood but he isn't my child!" Hisashi says, stomping back to Inko. "I will not be near such a creature! I HATE SPIDERS!" Inko sees the absolute terror and hate in her husband's eyes, and she can't believe this is the same man she married. How could he…!? He turns to leave again, "We're getting a divorce, and I won't be paying for any child support!"
"Hisashi, wait!" Inko says, falling out of her wheelchair, but Hisashi just up and leaves… Sometime later, it's time for her to leave the Hospital with her son, and, unsurprisingly, Hisashi isn't there… However, her friend, Mitsuki, is there with her husband, both of them are outraged at Hisashi's callous behavior and what he has done, and promise to help support Inko going forward.
"So what's the kid's name?" Mitsuki asks, smiling as she rubs her swollen belly as well.
"Mikumo…" Inko says, smiling, "It was going to mean "Beautiful Cloud", but I guess it means "Beautiful Spider" now, considering what he is." Inko looks at her boy as he just sleeps.
"He is beautiful…" She then points to Mikumo's spider half, "Just look…" She points out the sapphire blue and metallic gold parts of Mikumo's body, "It's just a beautiful sight… Like a Sapphire Gooty Tarantula!" Inko then thinks back to that little girl and her spider and then looks to Mikumo, who sleeps soundly.
4 Years Later…
Mikumo groans as he climbs out of bed, rubbing his eyes, finding his room, once again, covered in spider webs. "Ah man…" He says, and then, like normal, begins cleaning them up before his mother walks in. Inko walks into his room and smirks as she sees all the spider webs. "Sorry mom… I think I spun in my sleep again…" Mikumo says, to which Inko sighs as she helps him clean up.
"It's alright, Mikumo… You'll figure out how to control it eventually… That's why we're going to the doctor's today to see if there is any medication to help you control it!"
"Yeah…" Mikumo says. A few hours later, after breakfast, Mikumo and Inko walk to the pediatrics office of Doctor Tsubasa, who examines Mikumo's spinnerets, but also examines Mikumo's feet and wrists. "Is… Is there anything wrong with me, doctor?"
"No actually, there isn't…!" Doctor Tsubasa says, "In fact, you're actually coming along just fine…" He brings out a couple of pictures, "I actually found that you have spinnerets in your wrists, which may explain why you have so much excess silk building up. You're not regularly discharging your excess silk, and so, when you sleep, you spin without realizing it! Until you get older, you need to spin your silk constantly in order to help your silk glands grow and become ready to produce heavy amounts of silk."
"But what are we supposed to do with all that silk? It's not like we can sell it on the market or anything, that's illegal!" Inko says, "Not to mention it would break a bunch of other laws too…"
"I know, Mrs. Midoriya, but as far as I can tell, there is nothing wrong, he just needs to constantly let out his excess silk and it will slowly go away on it's own." Doctor Tsubasa says, "If you can find a way to dispose of the Silk, then it should be pretty easy to take care of…"
"Alright…" Inko says, sighing as she leaves the Doctor's Office with Mikumo, only to see somebody walk over.
"Excuse me, Miss…?"
"Yes?" Inko asks.
"I don't mean to be a bother, but did I overhear that right? Your son is having trouble with excess silk?" The Man asks. "I think I know somebody who can help you dispose of the silk…"
"Who?" Inko asks, looking at the man suspiciously.
"I'm afraid I can't say it outloud, but perhaps I can arrange a meeting?" The man asks, offering a card. "Come by this address in Aichi Prefecture in a few days, and I'll ensure you meet with him!" Inko looks at the address on the card, and something begins to form a pit in her stomach. "If I may…" He also holds out a jar, "Might I also ask for a sample of the silk…?" Inko looks at her son, who, without hesitation, gives a good amount of unspun silk. "Thank you, young man, I shall look forward to seeing you soon!"
A Few Days Later…
Inko and Izuku stand before the gates of what appears to be a large mansion grounds, and the two are shaking, stock still at the amazement of what they are seeing… Hesitantly, and almost robotically, Inko hits the Doorbell… "HELLOOOOO!" A voice erupts from the speaker at the doorbell. "Welcome! Mrs. Midoriya and your son, correct? Please come inside!" The gates open and the two proceed along the road towards what appears to be a very… Very… VERY… Large Mansion, where the staff welcome the two of them inside. The man from before arrives with a smile, "Hello, I am Sebastian Michaelis…" He bows, smiling, "My master and mistress await you inside!"
"Wow!" Mikumo says, "What kind of quirk do you have?"
"Izuku…!" Inko says, turning pale.
"What a delightful child!" Sebastian says, with a smile. "My Quirk is known as Black Butler, it's a Transformation Quirk that allows me to transform into a vile, ugly, demonic version of myself that is extremely powerful… Though due to how hideous I look in that form, I prefer not to use it unless my master, mistress, and Lady Momo are in such a level of danger that Ultraviolence is necessary…" Mikumo, despite the description, has stars in his eyes.
"That's amazing!" Mikumo says, to which Sebastian chuckles, finding he likes this spider boy even more. "Well…" He looks at himself, "At least your can turn yours off… Many of the kids at school are scared of me…"
"And why would they be scared?" Sebastian asks, kneeling and moves his hand through Mikumo's hair. "You have such beautiful Sapphire Blue Hair and Eyes of purest Gold… But more than that, you look like a combination of one of the most beautiful and one of the most fierce looking spiders I have seen in the world. So don't let their fear get to you… One sword keeps another in the sheathe, and the fear of violence is often enough to keep people from attacking each other…" Mikumo looks at the Butler with a stunned look. Taking these words to heart, Mikumo looks at Sebastian.
"And even in the Heart of Heaven… Angels… Can still feel Fear…"
"Exactly… And it is that fear that keeps them on the just and righteous path…" He then stands up. "Now, let us meet with the Master!" He then leads the way to a meeting room, the doors closed, in which Sebastian knocks on the door. "Master, they have arrived!"
"Send them in, Sebastian, and bring in some snacks and drinks…!" A man's voice echoes from inside.
"At once, Master!" Sebastian then opens the door with a smile and both Inko and Izuku enter, finding a man at his desk, smiling as he looks at them. He is a rather jolly looking man with a fine mustache but obvious japanese looks.
"Welcome, both of you!" The man says, "I am Ringo Yaoyorozu! A pleasure to meet you!"
"A-a-a-a-a P-p-p-p-pleasure t-t-t-to meet you as well Y-y-y-y-y-Yaoyorozu-san!" Inko says, completely shocked and terrified, now realizing who she is talking to. Ringo Yaoyorozu is one of, if not THE, richest men in Japan, who owns a very prestigious Support Company that specializes in creating and modifying hero costumes, which perfectly balance stunning form with versatile function. According to Mikumo's research, it was his company that created Midnight's regenerating suit, as well as a few other famous costumes for Heroes in recent memory. "S-So your butler, Sebastian, said you might be able to help my son dispose of his excess silk?"
"Dispose is such a wasteful word, but to not waste your time, yes… You see, Sebastian brought me back a sample of your son's webbing, as you had provided for him… And we ran some tests on it's chemical makeup, and the results were astonishing!" He then brings up the report, "Your son's silk is actually as strong, if not stronger, than Darwin's Bark Orb Weaver Silk!"
"Is that good?" Mikumo asks.
"Much more than you think, lad!" Ringo says, "Darwin Spider Silk is the strongest naturally occurring silk in the world! However, harvesting it is dangerous for the spider population, but you manage to be able to create a massive amount of silk every night, enough to cover an entire bedroom in a thick layer of silk, according to what Sebastian overheard. That's a lot of silk, and that much could make a good two or three costumes, costumes that are much stronger than even our most advanced synthetic materials!"
"So what do you wish us to do with the silk?"
"What I'm about to propose is, frankly, highly illegal, but it would not only provide my company with a constant amount of your son's silk, and it would save lives in the process, but you would also benefit from this as well!" He then turns his laptop around for Mikumo and Inko to look at, "Generally, the cost of spider silk on the market is about 4,424 Yen per Kilogram, but after having my people run the numbers for Mikumo's Silk Quality and Quantity, that price got bumped up to 11,800 Yen per Kilogram, at bare minimum… Now tell me, how many kilograms did your son produce the last time he had an "accident"?"
"I'd say about…" Inko thinks, but then her face blanches at the thought… "Around 120 kilos…"
"So that comes close to about 1.5 Million Yen at bare minimum!" Ringo says, smiling, "And I can make hundreds of times more than that in a single day, so you would be getting a good deal out of this… Of course this would be under the table until your son was old enough to get a permit to sell his silk legally or gain a Hero License so that we could write a formal contract, but I think we can make this work! Your son's silk would not only net you a lot of money, but would save millions of lives in the long run!"
"Mom! Can we do it, please?" Mikumo asks. "I know this may get us in trouble, but if my silk can save lives, we should do it!"
"I… I don't know…" Inko says, that is when Sebastian comes in with snacks and drinks, "May I have a few minutes to think on it?"
"Of course, in the meantime, sit down, relax, and have a bite to eat!" Ringo says, in which Izuku smiles as he makes his way towards Sebastian and is offered some strawberry cake. "Sebastian, you made sure not to bring any foods with caffeine in them?"
"Yes, Master, I remember what happened last time!"
"What happened last time?" Inko asks.
"One of my Clients also had a quirk that gave him similar abilities to your son, only his silk wasn't of such a high quality. We were discussing a renegotiation of his contract when he accidentally drank my tea instead of the flavored water was provided for him. Spiders can get drunk if they drink or eat anything with caffeine in them, and he got so drunk that he became belligerent and aggressive. Sebastian was forced to transform in order to get the man to settle down, and my client was so embarrassed by his antics that he willingly canceled his contract with us, despite my saying it was an honest mistake and that I forgave him." Ringo says, "So, word to the wise, Mrs. Midoriya, keep your son away form foods and drinks with caffeine in them."
"Noted…" Inko says, in which Mikumo is smiling as he eats his cake, complimenting Sebastian on how good it tastes. She then thinks about what her son had said… Not only that, despite how life has treated him so far, he has always wanted to be a hero… Not only that, her son's silk could indeed save thousands of lives in the long run, and not only that, when he became a pro, he would have a side-gig to keep himself above water. "If I agree to this, will we be kept out of any legal issues that are involved with my son's silk?"
"You have my word that any legal issues will be handled by myself and my corporation, your family will become an asset to us that will help us save lives in the long haul, so we will do everything we can to provide and protect you and your son in return!" Ringo says, looking down, "We even used your son's silk to treat my wife who was suffering from a serious wound… It was a bit of old school medicine, but his silk saved her life… So this is a way for me to give back what your son unknowingly did…" Inko looks and smiles, "So please, let me make this right with your boy."
"Alright… We'll do it!" Inko says.
"Thank god…" Ringo says, smiling as he wipes away a few tears that were forming, he then takes out a pen, "Now… Shall we…?"
A Few Weeks Later…
Inko smiles as she puts down the last box, smiling as she wipes the sweat off her brow, Izuku carrying his things to his new bedroom. Thanks to the new income they have, Inko was able to afford a House, a nice little one not far from from the local School districts. Bonus points, Mitsuki's House is nearby as well, and the best part, there aren't that many people in this neighborhood. Still, it's a welcome change of location… That old apartment… Had a lot of sweet, but also painful memories from before Hisashi left, memories she now thinks are better left forgotten… 'That bastard walked out on us… I won't let him control my life like some puppet on strings…!' Mikumo, having turned 5 a short while ago, looks at his mother and sees the dark look on her face, and he knows she is thinking about his dad… Despite never meeting him, he knows that his father, according to her, was always afraid of spiders, and thus his Arachnophobia extended to him as well… His mother was afraid of spiders, but he was thankful she didn't let it control her.
He smiles as he walks to his room, finding it rather large and perfect for him as he smiles as he gets to work setting up his All Might Collection with a smile, and, instinctively, he begins to make it more… Comfortable by covering his room with silk, creating a hammock to sleep in, a "beanbag" for him to sit on when he is at his computer, even weaving a blanket and pillow for his hammock with a smile on his face. The boy smiles as he quickly makes his way back to the living room to help his mother move stuff around, thanks to his massive amount of strength.
When night falls, Mikumo smiles as he goes into an empty room with his mother and close the door behind them, in which Inko smiles as they go to a set of tools as Mikumo moves the spinnerets in his abdomen towards a crank operated reel, in which Inko smiles as she looks at her son, who situates himself onto a "beanbag" and begins to relax. Inko leads her son's silk threads through a small stick with a hole in it and carefully uses the reel to not only combine the silk threads, but also allow them to form into a bundle… Once the set up is done, Inko slowly begins turning the crank and Mikumo buries his face into the beanbag and tries to keep his voice down… Having his silk harvested like this feels different from when he makes his webs himself, it's as if he were experiencing something he should only be doing when he is older, causing his face to turn bright red and, as he buries his face into the beanbag, release moans and groans that no child should at this age. Despite this, Inko does it slowly so that it's not uncomfortable for her son, but also so that she doesn't cause damage to her son's silk organs.
Unbeknownst to them, however, somebody walks by the house, and hearing something with a shocked look on their face, and then quickly leaves. The Rest of the Night, Inko smiles as she carefully washes away the stickiness from the silk using hot water, and smiles as she has another bundle ready for the Yaoyorozus… Once it is dry, she weighs it and smiles as she places the silk into a bundle and prepares it for… There is a knock on the door, and when she answers, she finds Sebsatian standing there. "Oh Sebastian, how wonderful to see you!"
"Good evening, Mrs. Midoriya. You know why I've come!" Sebastian says, smiling, to which Inko nods and let's him in. The Same individual from before, who sees the whole thing, rushes away as fast as he can…
The Next Morning…
Inko smiles as she is grocery shopping but then her ears pick up something, "Did you here? There are rumors about the neighborhood of that mother and son who just moved into the neighborhood…! Apparently, somebody overheard a child's muffled moaning and groaning, as well as the creaking of furniture inside the house…!"
"A Pedophile…?" Another woman asks, to which Inko's eyes blank and her face turns pale. "And to her own son too?"
"It appears to be so! And get this, the kid apparently has a quirk that makes him look part spider! There was even a gentleman who was spotted going into the house!"
"Do you think…?" Another woman asks, shocked. "Could she be selling her son to deviants?"
"No normal mother would do such a thing!" another woman says, "Could the person who overheard and oversaw those things be jumping to conclusions?"
"Not likely, he's a detective!" One of the women says. "Still…" They then see Inko staring at them with a blank expression, one that promised trouble.
"Are you insinuating I do such disgusting things with and to my son?" Inko asks.
"What? That place is yours?" One of the mothers asks.
"I would never do such things to my son, you sickos! My son has a problem that I help him with every night, and that "gentleman" you spoke about, he helps with it, so if you don't want trouble, keep your rumors to yourself!" Inko says, turning and leaving before going to pay for her groceries. However, the women glare at Inko, and together they begin to smile wickedly as they slowly leave…
9 Years Later…
Mikumo rouses from his sleep, trying to reach for his alarm, only to falls out of his hammock… "Ow…" He picks himself up, turning off his hammock, groaning as he picks himself up. Quickly he gets himself up and gets himself cleaned off… It has been 9 years since he moved into his new home, and things have devolved quickly… It is the first day of his Third Year in Middle School… And over the past few years, rumors have spread quickly throughout the neighborhood… Due to somebody seeing Sebastian visiting to pick up the silk, and how he has had a lot of trouble keeping his voice down during their harvesting, people have spread nasty rumors about his mother, rumors that his mother is "selling" him to rich gentlemen for money, thus earning them enough funds to live comfortably. Not only that, rumors have begun to spread since then that he is just like the Jorogumo, the Prostitute Spider of Joren Falls… Something that has caused him no end of torment during his Elementary School Days…
Because people compare him to that vicious and seductive man-eating monster, Mikumo has been bullied by others, including his former friend, Katsuki Bakugou, and this has often lead to the two of them getting into constant confrontations with each other, but Mikumo never throws a punch, saying that if he attacked, he'd be proving everyone right. Though Bakugo would always say: "Knew you were a cowardly spider! Go crawl back into your burrow where you belong, Yamikumo!" That nickname stuck after that… Yamikumo… The Spider of Darkness or Illegal Spider… That nickname has haunted him through Elementary School, and now he has found out that Bakugo is going to the same school as him… Again! Mikumo, standing in the shower, grits his teeth as he scrubs his body down with soap, hearing the voices of kids calling him "Jorogumo" and "Yamikumo"...
However, that isn't even the worst part of it… Thanks to the rumors spreading about Mikumo being an evil spider villain, despite being a kid, he has been chased out of every public place that would be okay for somebody like him to train, even others with arachnid quirks refuse to let him train with them, as such, Mikumo has had little to no chance to train his quirk, leaving him with not only little to do outside of homework, but he is also sure that his natural abilities have not only become woefully underdeveloped, but have degenerated somewhat… He sighs as he makes his way out of the bathroom once he is clean, but smiles as he looks at himself in the mirror, looking at how beautiful his spider body is… He has a completely hairless spider body, with it's body looking like it is made out of armored exoskeletal plates, covered with a sapphire blue and metallic gold, with a beautiful form of iridescence to it. Not only that, Mikumo is actually quite tall for his age, being about 6ft tall.
Not only that, his sapphire blue hair has grown down to his shoulders, with one of his bangs hanging over his right eye, and he smirks as he looks at himself… However, as he tugs on one of his hairs, he smiles as he gently pulls it out, revealing it's no ordinary hair. It is an Urticating hair, a bristled and spiky needle that, for Mikumo's convenience, only shows it's true colors once it has been knocked off his head. Fortunately, unlike actual spiders, his Urticating Hairs actually regenerate rather quickly once it has been knocked off, and once it is removed from his head, it actually becomes straight, narrow, and stiff, in which Mikumo has toyed with the idea of actually turning his hairs into ammo and loading them into a needle gun of some kind.
He then quickly puts on his school uniform as he walks out to the kitchen, smiling as his mother walks over to him. Unlike other Midoriya throughout the multiverse (unbeknownst to him), his mother has retained not only her height and beauty, but she has also landed herself a secondary job working with her own Quirk. Much to Inko's surprise, she discovered she actually has quite the talent for tailoring, especially once she managed to develop a style that utilized her quirk to speed up efficiency, and in a few short years, with the help of the Yayorozus, Inko opened up Greener Pastures, a tailoring studio that specializes in tailoring hero costumes, specifically, and secretly, creating, repairing, and altering hero suits made with Mikumo's silk, in which the Yaoyorozus had, for the time being, taken credit for creating a new "synthetic silk" that was used to enhance the defensive properties, and that Inko was one of only a handful of people who knew how to work with it properly. They even went through the trouble of making fake credentials about her working for the company before leaving it due to maternity leave. Despite it's great reputation in the Hero Community for form, function, and timeliness, the rumors about Inko and her son actually persist to this day.
Inko smiles as she sets out breakfast for Mikumo, the mother and son smiling as they eat their food before Mikumo makes his way to school, and Inko makes her way to her shop with a smile on her face. As Mikumo makes his way through the streets, a fight between a hero and villain with a gigantification quirk appears. 'That hero is Kamui Woods…' Mikumo thinks, bringing out a little black notebook and begins jotting down notes, seeing Woods using his Lacquer Chain Prison, only for it to be interrupted by a heroine named Mt. Lady. 'A woman with a gigantification quirk… And she uses her sexuality to get people to like her… Sheesh… And people call me a whore…' He then leaves with a sigh and makes his way to class.
Business goes as usual as the teacher begins to talk to everyone about their futures, though he says everyone is likely wanting to go to UA to become Heroes, to which Mikumo just rolls his eyes at everyone's reaction and flippant display of their quirks. "Yo, teach, don't put me in the same bag as these extras!" Bakugou says, making himself known.
'Here we go again…' Mikumo thinks, sighing with exasperation.
"I managed to ace the mock test and I'm the best student in the school! I'm heading straight to the top and I'm leaving you losers in the dust!" Bakugou says, standing on his desk. "I'm going to surpass All Might and become the #1!" He then begins laughing maniacally.
"With a personality like yours, you won't get very far…" Mikumo mutters under his breath.
"Oh yeah, speaking of which, Midoriya has already applied at UA as well!" This causes Bakugo to stop for a second, and everyone to turn to Mikumo, but unlike his counterparts in other timelines, they don't laugh, and for good reason. Mikumo, despite being neck and neck with Bakugo, and being hated and bullied by just about everyone, they fear him as much as Bakugo. Bakugo and Mikumo have fought each other on more than one occasion, and Mikumo, despite never winning a single fight, was known for being as stubborn and aggressive as Bakugo, to the point that even his most vehement bullies wouldn't dare to fight him even if they wanted to. Anyone who can go toe-to-toe with Bakugo is nothing short of a monster. Not to mention, he looks like a Jorogumo, but others say he's more Tsuchigumo… His nickname of Yamikumo is also well known amongst the circles of gangs and punks in Musutafu as one of the teens you don't want to mess with. This has caused Mikumo to be isolated out of fear and hate, and even those he saves from Bakugou's wrath hate and fear him to avoid being further victimized themselves.
"You damned… SPIDER!" Bakugou shouts, swinging at Mikumo's desk, only to find his hand webbed up and then explode. "OW! FUCK!" He glares at Mikumo, "DO YOU REALLY THINK UA WOULD TAKE A MONSTER LIKE YOU WHEN THEY HAVE A BADASS LIKE ME!?"
"IF YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT MONSTERS, KACCHAN, LOOK IN A MIRROR!" Mikumo shouts back, the two of them glaring at each other as Mikumo starts stridulating aggressively, challenging him as his spider lower body begins to raise itself up in a defensive posture. The Whole Class feels the air growing cold as everyone sees the Blonde Bomber and the Spider of Darkness glare at one another, daring the other to make the first move, only for the teacher to chop both of them on the head.
"Enough, both of you!" The Teacher says, "Back to your seats, it's time to start class…!"
"Tch…" Bakugou says, glaring at Mikumo, who gives him an equally intense glare. Hours pass by for the school day, and throughout it, Mikumo keeps his guard up as he goes through his day without further incident. Things like this have happened before, but it has been steadily getting worse and worse, and at lunch, Mikumo goes somewhere quiet to eat, in which he notices a girl carrying a lot of books making her way to the stairs. The girl then finds the stairs but as she makes her way to the first step, Mikumo senses something… Feeling a vibration through his feet, he finds the girl's foot actually lands on the step the wrong way, then the muscles twist her joint and she begins to fall. Moving quickly, Mikumo drops his lunch and grabs the girl's hand. The girl, having closed her eyes, slowly opens them.
"It's okay, I got you…" Mikumo says, his resting bitch-face looking at her as he helps her right herself before making his way back to his bento, luckily it was still secured so he picks it up and goes to find a place to eat. The students in the hall look at Mikumo as he makes his way past them, the people whispering as he does so…
"Manwhore…"
"Homewrecker…"
"Prostitute…"
"Monster…"
"Demon…"
He's heard them all, and he grits his teeth as he hears them being said again.
"Uhm, excuse me!" The teen girl says, catching his and everyone's attention. "Th-thank you…" Mikumo looks at the girl, stunned for an instant, before smirking and nodding his head and walking off. She would forget about his kindness soon, but… He'll enjoy it while it's there…
Soon the end of the day comes, and he is packing up his stuff when he notices something, his notebook is gone. "Wait, where's my notebook?"
"Looking for this, Yamikumo?" Bakugo asks, opening and going through it. "Sheesh you are a whore… These notes are so thorough it's practically pornography for nerds…" Mikumo glares at him.
"Give that back, or you die slow…" Mikumo says, glaring at Bakugo, who simply smiles.
"Oh, you want this back?" Bakugo asks, holding it up before slamming both his hands on it and burning it with his explosions, "Catch…" He tosses it out the window and Mikumo sees it land in the koi pond… Mikumo's expression is blank, and his heart is pounding in his throat as he feels his fangs begin to itch. "Oh you're getting angry? Well… Why don't you do something about it…?" Bakugou taunts, smiling wickedly, but then Mikumo takes a deep breath and walks away.
"You're not worth killing…" Mikumo says, walking away, much to Bakugou's shock, normally Mikumo would rise to such provocation and attack him, then he'd be sent home, and he'd be able to play the victim, even though it never fooled his parents. Not only that, the other students who were watching this are shocked at this, but Mikumo ignores their whispers as he makes his way to the pond and picks up the notebook, gently taking it in his hands and making his way home. He isn't going to cry, if he does, Bakugou wins… All his hard work over the past year on this notebook… He looks inside it and notices that most of it is intact, and he sighs in relief, but he grits his teeth in anger at Bakugo… 'I should've ripped him apart then and there… After everything he's put me through… I can't take it anymore!'
However, as he makes his way through an underpass, he breathes deeply and grits his teeth and holds up a fist, "I swear I'll kill him someday!" Mikumo swears, but that is when that sensation comes back and he turns around, seeing a mass of sludge appearing behind him, and his instincts tell him one thing "Parasite!".
"Ooo now a decent sized vessel has appeared!" He then launches at Mikumo who instantly gets wrapped up from below, and then the creature tries to get inside Mikumo, who barely manages to grab his nose and clench his jaw shut. "Oh you're a smart one… Well time for brute force!" He then slips between Mikumo's teeth, "Don't worry, it will only hurt for a short time, then it will all be over!"
'Damn it, not like this!' Mikumo thinks, tears filling his eyes as he can't believe what he is thinking. 'SOMEBODY HELP!"
"Be at ease, citizen!" A Voice booms from a nearby sewer as the cover erupts off. "For I am here!" Mikumo turns and sees All Might, shocked beyond belief, "Texas… SMAAASH!" All Might shouts as the shockwave forces the villain off Mikumo, who collapses, gasping and coughing, wiping the tears from his eyes, but then looks at his hero, who quickly gathers up the pieces of the villain. "Sorry you got involved with me taking care of that villain, but despite that close call, you actually helped me capture that fiend! Now I can take him to the police!" He then hands Mikumo his notebook, "I even gave you my autograph as a thank you!"
"Thank you, All Might!" Mikumo says, practically fanboying now for the first time in years, "But there is something else that I would like instead of an autograph!"
"Well give me your address and I'll be sure to drop by sometime tomorrow to fulfill that request!" Mikumo smiles big as he hears this and quickly jots down his address to All Might, only for neither of them to realize that, thanks to the villain, a bit of Mikumo's webbing has stuck them both together. "See ya tomorrow kid!" All Might jumps and as the hero launches off, Mikumo screams, to which All Might feels a weight on his leg, a lot of weight actually, to which he looks down, to see Mikumo hanging on by some silk attached to him. "Kid! Let go!"
"I can't, we're too high up! I won't be able to send out a line at this distance! If I drop now, I'll die!" Mikumo says, to which All Might grits his teeth and lands on a nearby building, Mikumo actually making a decent landing himself once All Might hits the ground, "Sorry about that All Might, it seems while I was trying to get that villain off me, I accidentally shot some webbing out without thinking and you stepped on it."
"Well, no harm no foul…" All Might says, to which Mikumo begins removing the silk from All Might's shoe. "By the way kid, you said you wanted something other than my autograph earlier, what was it?"
"I… I just wanted to ask you a question…" Mikumo says, "You see, ever since I was younger, people have been afraid of me because of my quirk, and have discriminated against me for various reasons, most of them not being true…" Mikumo doesn't notice All Might beginning to steam as he undoes the string attached to the #1's foot. "However, there is one thing I always wanted to ask you, can somebody like me, with a ruined reputation and a villainous quirk become a hero?" He then looks up and is shocked at what he sees, "Wait! Who are you!?" He sees a man who looks similar to All Might, only far more emaciated and his hair is messy and unkempt.
"I'm All Might." The Man says, with blood coming out of his mouth. Izuku looks at him and feels that sensation in the ground again, and something tells him instinctively that this man is telling the truth.
"But if you're All Might, how are you like this?"
"Well that is a bit of a long story, kid…" All Might then sits down, "But to answer your question, nobody in this world is born with a Villainous Quirk, it's all about how one uses it and the intentions behind it…" He then looks to Mikumo who brings out a water bottle and hands it to him, before lowering his body to the ground with a concerned look. All Might takes the bottle, and takes a drink, "However, there are some quirks that can do something like this…" He lifts up his shirt and goes onto reveal the extent of the damage, and how it has negatively affected his quirk, placing a limit upon it. He then goes on to explain how his smile is used to comfort others and how his laughter helps him cope with his fear. "As for you kid, if you've had a bad reputation since you were a kid, it will make your path a hell of a lot harder… However, professionals put their lives at risk for other people, and people with quirks that make them look villainous or those that appear villainous even harder… So you will have your work cut out for you… If all you care about is saving people, then become a police officer, that way you can ensure the villains remain captured…" Mikumo feels his hopes being crushed by his hero… and as the man leaves, Mikumo grits his teeth and leaves as well…
Wandering through the streets, Mikumo clenches his fist so hard that he is starting to bleed, and he tries to push those thoughts away when suddenly a sound catches his attention. He then sees the Villain from before, and he realizes that his struggling on his silk must have caused the bottle the villain was contained in to be lost. Now it's free and… Mikumo looks in shock seeing Katsuki being used by that creature… Part of him tells him to just walk away… But then… Bakugo looks him dead in the eye, with a look that is pleading for help… That is when it happens, a spark running from his spine down to his legs, and he jumps ahead of everyone, even over the heroes.
"HEY KID, HOLD IT!" Death Arms shouts, in which Mikumo charges forward, unleashing his stridulation in a challenging manner, catching both the attention of the villain and Bakugo. Mikumo doesn't have time to think, and as he charges forward, he raises his arms and presses his middle and ring fingers into his palms, launching out streams of webs that hit the villain in the eyes with surprising force, causing the villain to let go of Bakugo.
"What the hell!? What are you doing here, Yamikumo!?"
"Shut up! My legs acted before my head could stop them!" Mikumo says, digging newly revealed retractable claws into the villain's sludge and grabbing onto Bakugo as he attaches silk to him, beginning a fierce tug of war with the villain. "Still, I couldn't just stand there and watch you die, Bakagou!" Nearby, All Might sees and hears this, shocked as he feels a spark run through his wound as his body transforms
"I'M TIRED OF PLAYING WITH YOU KID!" The Sludge Villain shouts, rearing it's fist back, in which Mikumo rears his back in response.
"SAVE THE BOY, THIS THING WILL KILL HIM!" Death Arms shouts, only for an explosion to ring out, and for Mikumo looking in shock to see All Might having caught the punch.
"What the…? All Might?"
"I can't believe you made me eat my own words… I guess I owe you two for this!" All Might says, "THANK YOU FOR REMINDING ME WHY I AM THE #1 HERO, AND FOR BRINGING A TRUE SMILE BACK TO MY FACE! DETROOOIT SMAAAAASH!" All Might shouts, unleashing his fist, in which, at the moment of Impact, Mikumo yanks hard on the silk and pulls Bakugou free, holding onto him tightly as his legs lock into place with the whirlwind that the #1 makes.
After the heroes gather the pieces of the villain, they turn to Mikumo and begin to reprimand him for what he had done. "That's enough guys!" Kamui Woods says walking over. "What he did was reckless, sure, but he had done something when we, as professional heroes, were too afraid to do anything. Now I'm not condoning your Vigilante Antics, but credit where credit is due, kid. You did well today… If you get into UA and manage to make a good showing of yourself during the Sports Festival…" He offers Mikumo a hand, "You'll definitely find my name in your list of internships!" Mikumo looks at Kamui Woods and smiles as he shakes the man's hand, to which Mt. Lady walks up behind him.
"Wow, Kamui, didn't know you had such a softspot for spiders!"
"Well I do own a Sapphire Gooty, and he reminds me of one, so I can't help it!" Kamui says.
"You have a Gooty?" Mikumo asks.
"Yes, it was my cousin's before…" He looks to the side, "Before she passed away…"
"Would that spider happen to be named Anansi?" Mikumo asks.
"How do you know that…?" Kamui asks, shocked.
"Let's just say that my mother and that spider have some history!" Mikumo says, starting to make his way home. However, partway there, Bakugou shows up. "Oh great, what do you want?"
"Just to tell you something, you damned nerd! I never asked for you to help me, I didn't need to be saved! If I hadn't been ambushed, I would've taken care of it myself! However, I owe you for this, so as long as you stay out of my way, I'll stay out of yours!" Bakugou shouts, turning around, "GOT THAT YOU DAMNED NERD!?" Mikumo looks stunned, but smiles at Bakugou.
"Maybe you're worth killing afterall…" Mikumo says, under his breath as he turns to walk away with a smirk. However, once Bakugou is out of sight, All Might appears, taking on his emaciated Small Might form, as Mikumo decides to call it. "All Might…? What are you doing here?"
"Well first, I want to apologize to you for what I said before, and to once again thank you for helping remember my own ideals as a Hero. But as I told you, my wound is actually getting worse and worse, and my time with my quirk is shortening more and more… So I've come to make you an offer."
"No, you were right, All Might… I should've realized sooner…" Mikumo says, starting to accept the reality of his situation. "My bad reputation and my villainous looking quirk, I should just give up on being a hero… I've wanted to be one for so long, but I've got nothing to show for it… Whats more, I'm labeled as a monster so…"
"Would a monster go out of his way to save somebody who, I could tell from a glance, had tormented you and made your life a living hell?" All Might asks. "I'm not so dense, Young Midoriya… I actually did a bit of listening around as I was headed your way, and I know a bit about what people say about you… Not much, but enough to give me an idea… However, everyone loves an Underdog Story, and the best underdogs have the world rallied against them, but more than that… You did something when nobody else would, and I know you'll describe it as your body moving on it's own, or a spark ran down your spine, forcing you to act… That kind of sensation is the basis of True Heroes, those who truly wish to help others with their abilities." Mikumo feels his body shaking, and he wants to break down and cry, but he can't bring himself to do it, he just starts trying to breath, "Am I right?"
"Yes…" Mikumo says with a weak voice, but one that All Might can hear with a smile.
"Then, my boy, you can be a hero too!" Mikumo then begins silently weeping, his mother supported his dream, and now his Hero actually supports him too. "However, I can see your abilities are woefully underdeveloped, and from what I've overheard, nobody has allowed you to train anywhere, correct."
"Yes…"
"Well then, we have two things to accomplish before the UA Entrance Exams…" All Might says, "First we need to get your natural abilities up to snuff… Second, we need to get your body ready to handle my Quirk…"
"Your Quirk…?" Mikumo asks, in which All Might goes on his speech about his quirk, One For All, and how it basically works. "And getting my body ready to handle it…" Normally Mikumo would be going on a tirade about how such a quirk would work, but part of him was telling him to calm down, "I assume that means that if we don't, then it's likely going to tear me apart?"
"Exactly, so we need to not only work on your natural abilities, but also get your body into shape to contain and properly channel it…" All Might says, "So I have an idea on how to do that, one that will help improve your reputation with the community, and help you get the training you need."
"Hmmm… Alright… I'll do it!"
"Good! Meet me at this location before dawn…" All Might says, giving Mikumo an address, in which the spider boy nods and walks off.
The Next Morning, Dagobah Beach…
Mikumo growls as he begins to pull what appears to be a refrigerator with All Might sitting on top of it, barely dragging it across the ground. "Good, good!" All Might says, checking Mikumo's progress with straws between the point he pulls and where it stops, and with each individual pull, it is getting slightly longer…
"Geez…" Mikumo says, stopping to catch his breath, "How much do you weigh?"
"I'd say around 274 Kilos…!"
"THAT'S BARELY HEAVIER THAN I AM!" Mikumo shouts, "Well this is all to get me into fighting shape anyway…" Mikumo then looks around, "But why are were here of all places?" Everywhere around him is covered in junk.
"This place used to be a hot vacation spot, but garbage from the sea washed ashore here and turned this place into a dumping ground. Being a hero is also about doing community service, and with your reputation tarnished as it is, you've got nowhere to go but up from here. So cleaning up this place will not only make you stronger, but it will boost your reputation as well!" He then crushes a fridge and then shows Mikumo the Horizon, but that turns out to be a huge mistake.
"MY EYES!" Mikumo shouts, blocking the sunlight with his arms.
"Young Midoriya! What's wrong!?"
"I'm photosensitive, All Might!" Mikumo says, reaching for his backpack and pulling out his glasses… "Damn it that hurt!"
"Damn it, I forgot, you were wearing your sunglasses ever since we met yesterday!" All Might facepalms himself, "Forgive me!"
"It's alright, I was careless!" Mikumo says, his sunglasses on and then, through the red lenses, he sees what All Might wished him to see, and smirks. "Alright then, let's get to work!" He then gets a schedule for All Might, and Mikumo smirks as he gets himself psyched up for such a venture… And With this, 7 Months pass… And during this entire thing, Mikumo not only increases his physical capabilities, but they also discover some of Mikumo's woefully underdeveloped talents, one of his biggest ones being his ability to dig through stone and concrete with relative ease, almost as if he was swimming through earth while it is still solid. Not only that, they discover properties of his silk that are just plain busted, including the fact that by modifying it's chemical composition, he can not only turn it into razor sharp wire, but can turn it into solid constructs. They also discover that, despite his bulky appearance, he is terrifyingly fast and agile. Granted he can't compete with All Might at Top Speed but he is certainly capable of moving as fast as some of the fastest cars and motorcycles for a time, add to that the ability to jump like a Jumping Spider and you've got a nasty combination. However, the biggest selling point was that Mikumo discovered he could actually lift up to 170x his own bodyweight, so, with the math done, it means Mikumo could feasibly lift, at maximum, over 500 Tons.
However, now, as the sun rises, All Might drives to the Beach to start the day's training, but is shocked to see the huge pile of junk that has been piled at the entrance, and Mikumo stands atop it, stridulating in victory. "Holy… Stinking… SUPER CRAP! Not one scrap of paper, not even a soda can has been left behind!" All Might says, shocked and smiling big at this, to which he moves and Catches Mikumo as he collapses off the pile, and congratulates him, showing him the progress he has made, all the while putting Mikumo's sunglasses on him. "Now Kid, you not only begun to put your powers into focus, but you've made yourself into a Vessel for One For All, not a perfect vessel, but one barely tempered enough to contain it. So the next 3 months, we will be training to master your control over it as much as possible!"
"Alright…" Mikumo says, "So what do I need to do to obtain your quirk…?" All Might goes from Tall Might to Small Might.
"Simple, you need to ingest some of my DNA…"
"Seriously…" Mikumo asks, "After all this, you decide to make a pass at me, I should've known…" All Might then coughs up blood, and starts stuttering like a madman. "Calm down old man, it was a joke!"
"That wasn't funny at all!"
"Well since you know the bad reputation and rumors attached to me, you should've known I would've pulled one! Anyway sorry about that, couldn't help it!" Mikumo says, smiling genuinely. "So I need some of your DNA right?"
"It can be blood, hair, or even a chunk out of my own flesh…"
"I vote blood, easier to get down in a quick gulp…" Mikumo says, to which All Might nods as he takes out a lancet, and carefully pricks his finger as he goes Tall Might, and Mikumo opens his mouth wide, his fangs bared as All Might allows a single drop of his blood to fall into the boy's mouth. Mikumo feels the drop go down his throat, looks at himself.
"It will take a while for One For All to take root in your system, so take the rest of the day off and relax, you've earned a break. Tomorrow, we'll really begin to train!" All Might says.
"Yes sir!" Mikumo says, saluting All Might, but then suddenly a kicked can is heard and they both turn to see Inko standing there, looking shocked at this. "M-Mom!?"
"Mikumo… Is that… A-A-A-All Might?" Inko asks, to which Toshinori Yagi turns Small Might again in shock, Inko fainting. "My son was being trained by All Might this whole time!"
"MOM!"
