"Sometimes life sucks"
He would say to himself as he laid on his soft and warm queen size bed facing the window on
his left side. He wasn't much of a side sleeper but for some reason he always liked falling
asleep while looking out the window.
Outside it was dark, lightly raining his flat was only two stories up so he could see the soft glow
of the street lamps kissing the small forming puddles on the street, the same puddles that were
slowly run through by cars causing a small splash here and there.
He tapped his finger on the window as small drops of rain hit the glass through the screen on
the other side. He liked to think that he was controlling the rain and that wherever he tapped a raindrop would appear.
"Only sometimes"
He mumbled to himself, still playing with the glass. His green eyes lightly reflected off the
window as to see into his own soul. He didn't really feel anything, not joy, anger .. or even
depression. But that could have been from the night time drugs his doctor prescribed to him
about a week back.
The bottle just sits on his side table about a foot away from the corner of his bed along with his
little alarm clock he got from a random corner store in the city. Inside about 6 pills remain. He
was never used to taking them as he never really felt like he needed to in the first place. He only
went to see a doctor cuz a friend at work suggested it because she also deals with the same
type of issues. So he figured who else would know more than someone dealing with the same problems.
Tap, tap, tap on the window his finger went as if it was to have a mind of its own. "Maybe
tomorrow will be better" something he told himself everytime he could feel his eyes get heavier and heavier.
He slowly lowered his hand to the bottom of the window frame that had a cozy cool chill to it.
The rain pitter pattered on the other side of the glass. His eyes got heavier and heavier by the
second. He could feel the medication taking its effect. He was slowly blinking as the lights
outside slowly going off and on from his blinks.
"Maybe .. tomorrow.. Will be .. a better .. d …"
and before he could finish his sentence his body
and mind went to rest for the nite.
The moon lightly kissed the night sky as it looked down at him through his window. The pitter
patter made a beautiful melody as the rain started to fall quicker and quicker. And the night passed.
Author Notes: SOOOOOOOOO honestly had no idea where I was going with this. I myself have
sleeping issues from depression, but i do not take meds for it, some nights are better than
others. I'm kinda new at making short stories and what not but i like to try at least. But anyway I hope you all enjoyed this short!! And would love it if you left a review, as all feedback is good
feedback for me!!!
Thank you - Kowareta hon
