Finn watched as the struggling woman was being forced towards the group. Her hands were tight together in the front and she had a bag over her head. He knew exactly who she was. He had paid for this. Next to him stood the bokor Damian Priest. Finn had paid good money for this man to come through.

For some reason it started feeling cliché to do this on Halloween night. It had seemed right to him all the way up to this moment. It was her favorite holiday. She loved a good scare. He was going to scare her, alright. Scare her halfway to death.

"Show her to me," Damian said.

One of the men pulled the bag off her head. Her short, light brown hair was a mess. She settled her honey brown eyes on the one person she knew among these people.

"Finn?" She asked.
"Hi, Gordana," he said.
"What is this? Why are you doing this to me?" She asked.
"You shouldn't have left me," he said.

She stared at him as if he had grown two heads.

"You're insane," she said.

Maybe he was. He wasn't completely normal. He knew that. After all, what normal man would do what he was currently doing? But insane? Maybe not completely insane. Somewhere in between. Crazy. That might be the right word he would choose. Crazy about her. Crazy because of her. She drove him crazy.

"Are you sure about this?" Damian asked.
"Dead sure," Finn nodded.
"Finn, talk to me," Gordana pleaded. "Please. Whatever you're thinking about doing, don't. Come on, Finn. It's me. You know me. Talk to me, please."

Finn stepped over to Gordana. She was so beautiful even though she was scared out of her mind.

"Talk?" He asked.
"Yes," she answered.
"I tried talking. You wouldn't listen," he said.
"We can work this out," she said. "Let's go home and talk about it."

He leaned down and pressed his lips against hers. She allowed it. She thought she could fool him but he knew better. She was done with him. This was the only way. This little kiss would be the last one she would ever give him willingly. He broke the kiss, pulled back, and smirked at her.

"You shouldn't have left me," he said. "You're never going anywhere again."

She gritted her teeth and tried to pull on her restraints. The two men kept holding on to her arms no matter how much of a fight she put up.

"It's pointless," Finn said. "Just accept it."
"Fuck you!" Gordana screamed.

She spit in his face. He was stunned for a second until he heard her hard words follow.

"I hate you!" She screamed.

He dried her spit off with his sleeve, and then grabbed her throat. Fear was back in her eyes. She was damn right to be scared.

"You see that man behind me?" He asked coldly. "His name is Damian Priest. He's a bokor, or what you would call a voodoo priest."
"What the fuck?" She whispered.
"You've read some of my books. You know exactly what he can do," he said.

Finn stepped aside and nodded at Damian. Damian stepped up to them and poured some white powder out in his hand.

"Don't fucking do this, Finn," Gordana begged.
"Coupe poudre," Finn smiled cruelly. "Zombie powder. You'll be in there but you'll be under my control. You'll be my fucking slave. You'll never leave me again."
"Step aside," Damian said.

Finn stepped aside but kept his eyes on Gordana. Tears were running down her face. She knew what was about to happen and she had no way of stopping it.

"Finn, please!" She begged.

Those would be the last words he would ever hear her speak. His name and her begging. He wasn't sure how to feel about it in that moment. A part of him felt justified to make her beg, and a part of him knew it was wrong.

"Happy Halloween, doll," he smirked. "Guess you'll go as a zombie this year."

The two men holding her stepped aside. Before she could even begin to think to run, Damian blew the powder into her face. Finn watched the cloud of powder slowly disappear in the air. Gordana's eyes became visible again. She didn't look scared anymore. She didn't look angry or happy either. She looked empty. Just a shell of the woman that had been there seconds before.

"All done," Damian said. "She'll do whatever you tell her to without ever saying a word."
"She's gonna be a good, little housewife. Or maid. I don't think I can marry her now," Finn said.
"I would advice against that," Damian chuckled.
"I can fuck her too, right?" Finn said.

Damian sighed and nodded. He had seen men like Finn before. Men so desperate about getting their ex lovers back that they would go to these extremes to make it happen. Men that no matter how many times and how many ways Damian explained it beforehand still always seemed surprised when reality hit them.

"You can. You won't get a reaction though," Damian said.
"What?" Finn asked.
"Her body will function normal. She'll get wet, and you can do whatever you want, but she won't know what's happening. She's a zombie, Finn. I told you all this. You have even read books. You won't hear any moans. She won't like or dislike it. She'll just lie there until you're done," Damian said.

Finn felt cheated out despite always knowing this would be the outcome. He just had a weird hope that Damian was lying about that part. Now it suddenly didn't seem as fun anymore. He had her right in front of him. She was his to do with what he pleased, but she wasn't really there. It wasn't her anymore. It looked like her but she was gone. He stepped up to her, leaned now, and tried kissing her. There was no reaction at all. That stung. Those lips once so warm felt cold and dead even though she was still breathing.

"Fuck," Finn whispered.
"Are we good here?" Damian asked.

Finn didn't want to lose face to Damian. He had to suck it up and pretend everything was fine. He could pretend for now. He could probably pretend for weeks, maybe even months. Until he had gotten enough.

"Yes, we're good," Finn turned and grinned at Damian. "I'm gonna have a lot of fun with my new toy. Once I get bored, I can just bury her, right?"
"Contact me for that," Damian said. "It used to be a lot easier in the old days. Today they will know her heart is still beating and they will come for you. I can personally make sure her body disappears for good."
"I will do just that," Finn turned back around at looked at Gordana. "Let's go home, doll."

A/N:
Happy Halloween.
