"I can't believe how fast you three are growing up, it seems like just yesterday you were graduating Kindergarten!" Professor Utonium said, fixing the rear view mirror in front of him.
On his right was Blossom, teenaged. Her hair fixed into a ponytail holding her backpack; she was confident in her abilities. "Can you believe it's already time to go into highschool?"
Buttercup looked at Blossom after her words. "I know! I feel like I'm finally growing into the adult I'll become," Blossom stated with confidence. She lay her arm near the window of the car thinking about what her life would be like.
"We all know you have wet dreams about becoming a lawyer or whatever." Buttercup snarked at Blossom, she looked back at the short haired girl. "Girls! Use your manners, please." The professor told both of them.
"Professor, is it okay to be scared of growing up?" Bubbles asked the professor from the backseat. He looked back at his daughter, already remembering fondly the days when she was once a young child.
"Of course! It is normal, you know, even I was scared to become an adult; but I eventually found the career path I needed that gave me the extra push!" He said, Bubbles looked in awe at him.
"So I just need a job!" she exclaimed. "Well, Bubbles, I didn't mean that. I just meant that I found my path in life." He told her in response to her exclamation. "I'll miss talking to you!" Bubbles said in a voice akin to the sadness of the blue skies on a rainy day.
"Well, I'll still be there whenever you need me! I just won't be as much in your life as I was before, this project has been pretty hefty, and I don't need you girls to have an accident." He sighed uncharacteristically to his words. "You girls are growing up and won't need me." He gulped, feeling the emotions of that of a dog being laid to rest.
"That's not true! You're our dad!" Buttercup told him– standing up from her seat with her seatbelt pushing her down to sit; she reached his head to give him a good enough hug. "Yeah! Just because we're growing up doesn't mean that our relationship with you is going to change!" Blossom said. She looked over to his seat– seeing his demeanor change from neat and tidy while still having emotion to overcome with joy at his daughters words.
"Ah! It seems we're here. Now girls, remember that–" Utonium was cut off in the midst of his sentence with the girls all cheerfully saying "Love you! Bye." in different tones and emotions. They all knew one thing though; nothing could prepare them for the other world that was: HIGHSCHOOL!
They looked up at the building in front of them seeing the letters plainly stating 'Townsville High', Blossom was giddy at seeing their new school. "Uh, Bloss, you do know we were here already?"
"For the orientation? I know! But we're going to be here everyday, I have to truly appreciate it!" She said as she looked around at the plants (that were most likely fake) on the front of the door to the school grounds. "It's so pretty!" Bubbles looked in awe at everything displayed in front of her.
"Am I the only one that remembers this place?" Buttercup groaned as her sisters took in the beauty of the school day. Blossom sniffed the air, it smelled like fresh highschool– which was plants that'll never get watered after this day, teenagers who have never heard of a shower, and the popular girls that totally did not smell like mint perfume scent all the time.
Buttercup crossed her arms and rolled her eyes as she almost made it to the door. She saw other people open it up, and she saw two people that she didn't care to see. Elmer & Mitch. "What's wrong with them?" Bubbles asked Buttercup, seeing that she was clearly uncomfortable.
"Nothing, I just don't want to strike up a conversation with them." she said, Bubbles was confused as to why. She would never be someone to decline a conversation with someone– meaningful or not. "But why not? They're your friends!" Bubbles asked her.
"Yeah, Mitch is. I was a dick to Elmer in kindergarten, I don't think he really got over it at all." She said, looking at the rest of the people coming and going from the school. Everyone over the break had changed. Well, most of them.
Some people had gotten more or less acne, or went through a complete change in appearance. There were even some that had transitioned. Bubbles was anxious looking at them with Buttercup, Buttercup didn't mind– her eyes had drifted elsewhere. That elsewhere was a specific car.
"Bloss, I think we're in deep shit." Buttercup stated bluntly as she went to tug on her red skirt. "What do you mean–" she cut herself off and looked where Buttercup was staring. Bubbles did as well. "Fuck." Blossom facepalmed as they all went to 'hide', school didn't start until in around 10 minutes, they would be fine.
"Why are we hiding?" Bubbles queried as she looked at both Blossom and Buttercup staring at a car through the bushes, she was just along for the ride. Like a third wheel for spying. "You saw them, right?"
"Saw who?" she asked. They turned her head to the slick black car, it was almost as long as a limousine as the door opened. The first to come out the door was a man in a red hoodie, his red head of hair tied up into a ponytail underneath his baseball cap. He walked out and waited for the next brother of his.
The next to come out was a blondie, a cute one too. His blue shirt with long sleeves, like a sweater that had the neck part cutoff. He had a dopey smile on his face with cheer and excitement. The redhead looked at him with an evil eye, intimidating him not to be excited at all– as he walked out the door, the next was a slick black haired boy.
He looked intimidating, to say the least. He had piercing eyes, that of an emerald color but darker. His wardrobe choice was bleak, a uniform green in combination with block, he had a hoodie tied around his waist. He walked out with a slight hint of craziness.
"The RowdyRuff Boys?!" Bubbles exclaimed, Blossom and Buttercup shushed her as they looked at who else was in the car. Blossom raised an eyebrow, confused. Who was this random lady, and WHY was she with the Rowdyruffs?
"Thank you mom!" Boomer smiled, his mom looked back at him and got out of the car. Her hair was blonde, she had green eyes and was wearing a stunning black dress. Was she out for a date or what? "No problem boys! Bring it in you two!" as she looked at both Butch and Brick.
They reluctantly complied, Butch giving a hug that was like a chokehold– if he were to hug anyone else with more love, he would probably kill them. Brick only gave a hug with his arms around her back, not wanting to get his full body into the hugging.
"I thought Mojo was their dad?" Bubbles pondered. "Wait! Is Mojo dating that lady?" Buttercup and Blossom both shut down the idea immediately, tossing the theory into the trash. "I don't think Mojo is that ladies type." Buttercup told her.
"Something smells fishy here, and it's not just kids bringing in fish for lunch." She said, her voice rasped minorly as many thoughts plagued her head. "We've gotta get out of here before they see us!" Buttercup exclaimed to both of them, taking them by the hand.
Buttercup ran, her brute strength was capable of getting both Blossom and Bubbles to come with her. They too started running and pushed open the doors."We have life, 7 minutes left. We'll be fine." Blossom told them, logically– yes they would be fine.
"But the Ruffs? We really don't want them to see us" as Buttercup pushed open the door allowing both Bubbles and Blossom to walk in. "That is true, but who knows. Maybe they redeemed themselves!"
"I highly doubt that." Buttercup said, as they ran through the halls. One of the school counselors blew a whistle, loud enough to shatter one's eardrums if they got too close to someone who was going to blow it. "Ap bup bup bup! No running in the halls young lady, I would expect better from a superhero."
"We barely get any calls anyway!" Buttercup yelled at the counselor, Bubbles held her back and Blossom went up to the lady in front of her. "Sorry about my sister. We'll make sure to follow the rules." She was also thinking something else. 'Please don't blow the whistle again, please don't'
"I'll see you girls if you ever need me, HEY! NO RUNNING IN THE HALLS!" as she blew her whistle again, Blossom got what felt like migraine just from that whistle. "Well, let's just go to class, nothing could make this day any worse." Buttercup told Blossom.
"Well well well. If it ain't the PowerPuff Girls." They heard a familiar voice call their group name. They looked back at the trio of three boys, immediately putting their guards up just incase. "We're not here to hurt you, woah woah woah." Brick told them and backed off.
"Yeah! We're just here to see how you guys are doing!" Boomer told them, Blossom noticed that his voice was as soft as ever. It sounded like he hadn't even gone through puberty yet in comparison to Butch and Brick. He sounded no different to the voice he had when they had fought the Ruffs back then.
"You.. don't have any malice intent?" Blossom questioned, Buttercup nodded in agreement that she was questioning it too. Bubbles just stood there with a grin on her face. "Yeah, we want to be friends!" Boomer told them earnestly; Brick punched him in the back implying that he shouldn't say that.
"I mean– we're not exactly enemies anymore." Boomer said. Bubbles noticed the sadness in his voice as he said those words, Bubbles was the emotional type– so she could sympathize with others emotions. She could feel Boomer wanted to be friends with them, but for real. She couldn't read Butch at all, he seemed a bit more closed off. Brick looked aggressive in his emotions– like he didn't even want to talk to them.
"I'll be your friend!" she raised her hand and jumped up and down with a wide grin on her face looking directly towards Boomer. Buttercup whispered to her. "Cut it out," she said quietly. Bubbles disagreed with that notion.
Boomer smiled back at her greatly. "Ignore her, so what did you want with us anyways?" Blossom asked, Bubbles felt disencouraged. Despite that, Boomer and Bubbles knew that they would totally and absolutely disobey their siblings' words. They were going to be friends, and that was final! Who cares if they're enemies; that doesn't mean they can't be B-F-F's FOREVER!
"That we're not going to annoy you, and that we can't harm you at all." Brick said, as his words trailed off he got quieter. "What was that?" Blossom asked. "That we can't harm you at all." Brick said in the exact same quiet manner as his past words.
"What did you say?" she asked again, Brick was annoyed (despite it being his fault she can't exactly hear what he's saying.) "THAT WE CAN'T HARM YOU AT ALL!" Brick yelled, getting the attention from other students poking around at their lockers or chatting in the hallways.
"Sorry." Brick crossed his arms and looked away, it was only towards the passing bystanders, NOT the Powerpuffs. "I'm glad, but why not?" Blossom was asking many questions today, well, for good reason. She needed answers, especially with how cryptic and vague Brick was being with his words.
"Because our mom told us not to do it or else we won't get food for a day." Brick told them, not seeing anything wrong with what he said. Blossom found many things wrong with what he said, especially with that part about his mom.
"Wait, you have a mom?" Buttercup asked. "Yeah, she adopted us because we don't have real 'legal guardians' to take care of us." Brick said, putting legal guardians in air quotes. "I thought Mojo was your guardian? Or even Him?" Blossom asked.
"They walked out after each of our fights, what's it matter anyways." Brick asked Blossom. "Because I wanted to know who your mom was? Also, that is definitely not a good parental situation." Blossom told him.
"Why, you jealous cause' we're rich?" Butch asked her. "No, about the fact she would starve you if you fought us? Aren't you guys pure evil, or something?" Buttercup said. "No, we were made by evil which made us evil by proxy. It may be technically in our nature but we don't have to be if we don't want to, I want to, though." Brick told them, expositing the lore that they didn't even know about them.
"But you didn't answer about the starving thing?" Buttercup told them, with a slight concern for their health and on whatever was going on inside their family. "More normal than anything our parents have done, plus, she treats us like kings. What's so wrong about not eating anyways. Oh, sorry, checking the time. One minute before class, you girls better go quick!" Brick said, his smug demeanor was even smuggler than usual. Brick, Butch, and Boomer walked; their arms were interlocked and worked together like the cogs of a machine. Buttercup, Blossom, and Bubbles just stared. Having a lot of questions, and only a few answers.
"Guess we'll never get answers from those guys. Wait, did he say–" Blossom asked, and then said with a sense of hurry in her voice, but it was too late. She could hear the high screech and ringing of the bell, like an alarm for class telling each and every student to go and get in there now. Buttercup got the memo and started running, not caring about the counselor. Blossom stayed in a panic and speed walked her way to the class, not wanting to be late and diminishing the idea of a perfect record on the first day. Bubbles stayed as cheerful as ever, and skipped to class.
They all took out their schedule, they had got them at the orientation in preparation, though just in case a student didn't get one, they were handing them out at the office. Blossom looked at the first period, she had English. 'Hah, this'll be easy. I'm amazing at English!'. As she sped walked over to the class, it was at classroom 2-C. She found the class where she was going to be staying in and opened the door. She saw that everyone had already say in their seats besides her. She felt anxious, and went over to her seat with a shaky grin.
"You know, out of all of you and your sisters, I didn't expect you to be the late one." The teacher told her, going onto her computer and slotting her in the 'Here' spot. She sighed, thankfully her track record would be saved, yet she probably would never live down the embarrassment. "Try not to do it again, okay?" The teacher told her. She responded. "Okay!"
There was one thing that bothered her. Boomer was in her class, how she had not noticed it was a mystery, but he was sitting right in front of her. She sighed, he was the least harmful and not as annoying as Brick or as… whatever as Butch. At least she got lucky with the Ruff she had gotten in her class.
Buttercup saw she had Math first. 'At least it'll get the hard stuff out of the way.' She thought to herself, crinkling up the paper back inside of her pocket as she looked around for the classroom for math. She knew the counselor wasn't patrolling the hall she was in at the moment, so her best bet was to run. She ran towards it and made it on time. Unexpectedly, giving her track record. She looked at the seating chart displayed on the projector and sat down.
She saw the seating chart before and groaned. Groaned so heavily that it could be heard all the way in antarctica. The desks were together in two pieces; paired together as one might say. And just exactly who that pair was was none other than fucking Brick Jojo.
"What's wrong, you don't like how hot I look in these clothes." She groaned again, this was going to be a long school year. She could only hope for seating re-arrangements in the near future as she looked embarrassedly away from Brick.
Bubbles saw that she was in art class first, she was ecstatic. She was an artist, while she may not be the best, she's been doing it since she was a kid and loves that hobby. She skipped along towards the art class building– it was not too far away from where she started. She entered with a grin, the art teacher aved and marked her in the class as being there.
Bubbles smiled and sat over at the table with her other friends, she smiled and greeted them all. There was Jamie, Rob, Jess, and Butch! Wait wait– Butch. Butch was there? She didn't mind that fact, she always wanted to make new friends. Not one she expected but a welcome surprise.
She tried to say hello to Butch, but it felt as though he hadn't heard her, she tried again and again until she realized that he heard her! He was just ignoring her. That was no fun. He was the most closed off one, he didn't talk much unless to be rude or to be crazy. She wondered just exactly who he was. She would pry him open… for friendship!
