My first thought of the morning?

"Damn, my new bed is comfy." I have no idea how they manage to move this bed around when the time to move to a different area comes, but im glad they do. Im not throwing away this bed, it is mine, my precious!

I sighed and stared at the...I was gonna say ceiling, but im not sure the word applies when im inside a big tent.

"Well...time to grind a little bit more." What do I mean by grind? If you read as much Gamer fanfictions as I did back on earth, then you should know that sometimes the system might reward you with 1 point to a certain stat if you do something related to it.

For example:

1 stat point to INT for making a smart decision.

1 stat point to END for pushing past your body limits.

Hell, who knows? Maybe even 1 stat to CHA for a successful flirt attempt?

So after I picked up some clothes from the pile that Raven brought me (White T-shirt and black sweatpants, unfortunately, no shoes), I dropped to the ground and started doing pushups.

...

For the whole day.

My entire day yesterday was spent doing fucking pushups. Nobody entered my tent ever since Raven left it, so I was undisturbed throughout the whole session.

Yet despite all those pushups, I managed to get only 9 points in STR and 3 in END.

So I have 19 STR and 13 END, which is good but...The numbers are unsatisfying...just 1 more point to STR and 2 END, that's all I want!

'I never thought I would start my day with pushups.' Just 2 days ago, such a thought would make me laugh. Me and exercising? Nope, never.

Not until now, not until strength became required to survive in a world where soulless black bone-covered monsters and people with bullshit soul force fields are around every corner!

Not to mention Ozpin and Salem...

I have nothing against Ozpin, admittedly, he is kind of an asshole for keeping so many secrets to himself and for using people as his pawns, that's true.

But his opponent is an immortal being, and he has probably watched so many close people die over his countless lifetimes that im not surprised he became numb and uncaring to his comrade's death. And the whole pawn thing? Not telling people that they fight against an immortal bitch whose goal is the destruction of life?

I mean...I would keep my lips shut too...

Can you imagine the amount of chaos that info would cause if it got out? It would be worldwide panic! Grimm would be coming from everywhere, attracted to all the negative emotions that people would experience!

Ruby revealed Salem's existence and asked for the help of other kingdoms to help them in Atlas, but no help came to them. Do you know why? BECAUSE THEY WERE BUSY TRYING TO FIGHT OFF THE GRIMM INVASION THAT WAS MOST LIKELY CAUSED BY THE MASS PANIC OF THE PUBLIC!

It was never said in the show, but it's the most logical explanation!

God damn her and her hero complex.

Vol 7 Ironwood was in the right. Salem was out for blood, she wanted the relic of creation, and saving both the people of Mantle and Atlas was impossible! He would have lost more people than he would be able to save if he tried that!

Bringing Atlas to the skies was more important, Atlas had the relic with It! The thing that should be out of Salem's reach!

BUT NOOO! Everyone should be saved! We CaNt LEaVe mAnTLe tO DiE!

Fucking idiots.

Being a hero is no different than being a fool that refuses to accept reality. There is no "good" answer in such a scenario, most of the time you have to choose between what is easy...and what is right...and you will have to live with your decision for the rest of your life...

But then they ruined that dilemma in vol 8 when they made Irondaddy into a typical evil dictator and took away all the hardship of moral struggle he was going through in vol 7.

Seriously...what were the writers thinking? Did they make it on purpose because the watchers realized how stupid and immature team RWBY and JNPR were acting and took James side? He was supposed to be the bad guy, but they made him into a real character while the "Heroes" were a bunch of annoying kids with an unrealistic view on how to solve the problem. And obviously, the hero of the story must always be right.

ugh... I get a headache by just thinking about this.

[For doing 7,000 push-ups, you gain 1 point to STR]

[Gamers Body] is amazing. I can feel tired, exhausted even, but my body is not necessarily affected by it. It hurts and feels like it is sore and tired, but moving it around is somehow as easy as moving a normal non-tired body.

The tiredness and exhaustion are more mental than physical, but I think that [Gamers Mind] numbs that too.

I don't need to stop to eat, drink or shit, I can just keep going. And even if im tired, whether I chose to keep going or get a break is up to me since my new body can cooperate even when it is "exhausted".

"Okay, 20 STR should be enough for now." But I should at least use [Observe] on a civilian and a huntsman to get a reference on where I'm standing. "For now let's get dressed and go out to see the camp." I said to myself and sighed.

I don't want people to think that im hiding in my tent, after all, such an act can be easily interpreted as cowardice, and being a coward is a bad thing to be seen as in the Branwen tribe.

After I put on my white T-shirt and black sweatpants, I took a quick look in the mirror and gave my reflection a satisfied nod.

If I had to guess, my new body is 16? maybe 17? My hair was black and long, it went a little past my shoulders, and I had some cute black fox ears on the top of my head. My eyes are a very bright orange with slit pupils.

And my face?

Narrow chin, a somewhat small nose, broad cheekbones, triangular-shaped face...yeah, I had a Fox-like face, but what else should I have expected?

"Damn, im handsome~" I said and finger-gunned my reflection

"Narcissist much?" It took every ounce of my willpower not to jump in fright at the unexpected voice that came from behind me. I turned around and saw Raven looking at me with a raised eyebrow.

Tight sports shorts, tight white shirt...nice~

"Maybe, but good self-esteem is important." Despite appreciating the eye candy... Outside, I acted casual but Inside tho, I was panicking.

I didn't even hear her come in! obviously there is no danger to me from her, but other people on her level can kill me easily in this situation!

Raven let out a humm and placed something on the table, giving me a nice view of her ass when she bent slightly to place the large wooden plate. I only now noticed that she brought me food.

Bread, butter, cheese, and lots of meat. There was also a cup full of...idk tea?

"I'll excuse myself then." She said and began to walk out, but I stopped her before she could.

"No, eat with me. I have something I want to ask you." She stopped and stood still for a second, but ultimately she took one of the chairs near the table and sat on it. I did the same. "So. What do you think about the current fighting prowess of the tribe?" I asked and grabbed a slice of bread and a sausage. I don't butter my bread.

"Brutes with lots of strength but little control over it. Everything they know is self-taught and full of flaws, the only people who have more potential are the captain of the hunting squad and his brother." Raven answered quickly and without hesitation.

"And I assume that those with Aura only know how to use it as a shield? No offensive abilities?" Raven looked at me weirdly. Have I said something weird?

"Offensive abilities? Do you mean a semblance?"

Huh? Isn't the usage of Aura in an offensive way a thing? Lie Ren from JNPR could do it, so if a random orphan knows how to do it shouldn't a trained huntress be able too?

Or is Ren a genius who figured it out himself???

But that doesn't make sense, didnt Qrow used an Arc-slash projectile by swinging his sword while he fought Winter when he picked a fight with her on Beacon grounds?

"I knew a guy whose semblance was to mask the emotion of others, perfect guy for escort missions since Grimm will ignore you unless you do something stupid." I took a bite out of the sausage and continued after swallowing. "But his control over Aura was so good that he was able to unleash Aura shockwaves through his strikes." Like he did in the Grimm eclipse video game. "There was also another guy who could send Aura slashes through his sword".

I raised my hand and activated [Chi Strike], I felt power surge from within me and into my fist. As the energy moved from my arm toward my hand, I punched forward, synchronizing the flow of chi together with my punching motion and causing orange chi to explode forward from my knuckles and a gust of wind to be created because of it.

"His way was different but the premise is the same" Raven stared at me like I grew a second head, and I went back to eating my bread and sausage like nothing happened.

"How did you do that!?" Her voice contained a certain... necessity? desire?

She wanted to know how to do this, she wanted to learn how to do this.

"When you activate your Aura, how does it feel?" Since I now know the feeling of [Chi Strike] I could try to explain how to re-create this technique with Aura. I dont claim that I will be able to do it, I just said I will try to do it.

"Like a surge of power coming from my gut and forming a barrier around me and strengthens my body while it travels through it." Huh...kinda the same as my [Chi Strike]?

The power I felt didnt come from my "gut" it felt more as if parts of the energy all around my body started moving toward my arm and then gathered in it before exploding forward from my fist.

"You need to gather part of that energy into your arm and circulate it. At the moment of impact between your fist and the target, you need to release that energy, but the timing must be precise otherwise you risk the energy exploding inside your arm." I gave her the explanation of the soul-crushing fist from a manhwa called "The Breaker", and watch as she falls silent while looking at her hands.

The soul-crushing fist is the same thing as [Chi Strike] with the difference that its a martial art technique of a Murim world. And murim worlds can get quite ridiculous sometimes, but fortunately "The Breaker" is quite tame compared to other Murim Manhwas.

Should I worry that Raven will learn the OP technique? Maybe.

In murim, People use Inner strength, which is some sort of energy cultivated through vigorous training that is then stored inside their energy core/dantian.

But Raven will try to recreate that with Aura, and whether the result will be weaker, stronger, or on par with the technique from the original source is remained to be seen.

"I will excuse myself." Bird MILF said, hastily getting up from the chair and walking out of the tent.

"Have fun with your training." I told her and went back to eating.

Alright, eat some food and go figure out how to level up!

"I challenge you for the position of the tribe leader!" A random topless guy with an axe in his hand said while I was walking around the camp.

Fuck.

"Yeah, sure. But since your not a sexy MILF like Raven, dont expect mercy when you lose." My comment actually earned some laughs from the bandits around us, the crowd gathering and growing to the same size it was yesterday when Raven fought the previous tribe leader. "you." I said and pointed at a random guy with a gun. "Point the gun up and shoot after you count to three. It will act as a start signal."

The bandit shrugged and did as told.

I am grateful for [Gamers Body]. If not for that skill I would probably be sweating so much that people would struggle to find a difference between me and a waterfall. I was also grateful for [Gamers Mind] for not allowing me not to be overtaken by panic.

I was panicking, but it was controlled. I tried to think of strategies and think of any trump cards I could use, but unfortunately, the time for thought run out and the sound of a gun being fired reached my ears.

I immediately felt something wrapping around my legs, holding them tightly and preventing me from moving.

Once I looked down I saw that the earth covered my legs up to my knees.

Oh...that guy has a semblance...

"What now, huh!? Not so tough without your semblance, huh!!?" A maniacal laughter came out from him as he reached behind him and pulled out a gun.

Ah, so he doesn't want to get anywhere near me, the axe in his hand probably only served as a distraction.

"Not really." I quickly raised both my arms and cast [Lightning Bolt]. Energy moved through my body again, but this time it was different, it...tickled when it moved? Like an electric shock that is too weak to hurt, but strong enough to be felt.

Both lightning bolts hit my opponent.

His body spasmed and continued to do so when he fell to the ground. The earth around my legs crumbled away, so I assume that he had to constantly concentrate to hold it in place.

Im fucking lucky that this bastard was confident enough in his win that he didnt raise his Aura, otherwise im not sure if my lightning would have much effect on him.

I sighed and approached the bastard, his body slightly burned around the area where I hit him and he kept twitching while he foamed from the mouth. Just with how many volts did I hit him with? Does it matter? No, it probably doesn't...

Picking up the Axe in his hand, I raised it above my head and swung down toward his neck as hard as I could, decapitating him in one move.

[18 XP for killing a bandit]

[Level up!]

"So..." Grabbing the decapitated head of the bandit by the hair, I raised it high for the crowd to see and witness my victory. "Anyone else wants to try and fight me?"

Everyone was silent.

"Then go back to work!" And with those words said, everyone began to walk in different directions.

I saw Raven looking at me for a moment with a weary expression but she too eventually went her own way. Huh... I wonder what's going through her head.

'She is probably questioning my ability to use lightning.' I thought and threw the head away. Sighing again, I walked some more around the camp until at some point I decided to go on a walk through the forest.

Once I was deep enough in it, I opened my status.

[Name: Kurayami Branwen]

[Title: Leader of the Branwen tribe]

[LV: 2]

[HP: 200/200] [•]

[MP: 180/200] [•]

[Str: 20] [•]

[Def: 10] [•]

[End: 13] [•]

[Spd: 10] [•]

[Dex: 10] [•]

[Cha: 20] [•]

[Level up points: 1]

My HP and MP raised with my level, but my other stats didn't...

Wait a second.

ONLY 1 POINT!? THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS, I DEMAND A REFUND!

Calm down Karen!

1 LV up point adds 100 points to your HP or MP and adds 10 points to other stats.

Anyway, I sensed that you leveled up and came to congratulate you.

Congratulations!

Now keep repeating that until you become a Multiversal God :D

Oh...well if that's the case then I will put that stat into...speed?

[10 Points added to SPD]

"Alright, that's good...right? What's the point of being strong if you are too slow to hit anything?" I said, justifying my decision.

You would be surprised how many gamers die because they neglected the SPD stat.

So, yeah, good decision.

Dont forget about DEF or END, its up to you which one you choose tho.

You could rise all stats, and be kinda good at many things.

But being a Jack of all trades and a master of none has its cons, so be careful about that.

Yeah, Just like in soulsborne games...I need to be careful with my stat management. Especially when my life depends on it.

So, what do you want as a reward for your first level-up?

Dont answer that, the reward is already chosen.

"Then why did you ask me??" I questioned, feeling puzzled by the system's behavior.

Yes.

???

[{Dungeon key} has been added to your inventory]

Ah, so I get one of those systems without the [Create ID] Skill.

We stopped giving away that skill a long time ago.

Gamers got too strong too quickly.

Ah, yeah I can see that happening...

Personally, if I had the skill, I would ignore the plot and keep using the ID created dungeons until im LV 100 or higher.

And that's exactly what some Gamers did.

Smart of them to do so. Grind until you are an Overpowered God and then have fun. Damn, lucky fuckers! "Wasnt I supposed to be privileged? I demand the privilege to the [Create ID] Skill!!"

No.

"Eh...it was worth the try."

...

"So will I get a gift every time I level up, or..."

No.

"Welp, be satisfied with that you have and all that jazz. I ain't stupid enough to argue with the entity that can posibly influence my Gamer system and give me suicidal missions." I have read enough FF to know that this is not the smart thing to do.

Finally, someone who understands how easily I can ruin his life...

I like you kid, keep not dying, and keep leveling up! I'll check on you in the near future.

"Bye." I said but got no response.

I think that he is gone.

"Inventory?" I called out unsurely and saw an inventory pop-up screen appear in front of me. So apparently my inventory is not a skill, but instead a system feature.

Since I didnt saw it in the skill list I just assumed that I dont have it. It was stupid of me to do so, I know, but...yeah, there is no "but" in this situation, I was just stupid.

Anyway, I took out the key and used [Observe] on it.

[Dungeon key (Level: 1-5)]- A key that allows you to step into a random dangerous area of the multiverse full of free XP! (Translation: Full of monsters to kill.) To use it, just find a door with a keyhole in it and use the key on it.

...

I'm in the fucking woods and the only type of civilization im familiar with is the tribe who lives in tents...

WHERE THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO FIND A DOOR!?
