Little Piggies and the Big Bad Wolf.
31st October 1966, Springwood.
Since the day she was born, Freddy Krueger had promised himself he would do everything in his power to give his daughter Katherine the best childhood. To protect her and ensure that she didn't have to go through what he went through. The bullying, the constant fear and hurt he suffered at the hands of the other children and that fucker Underwood. He wanted the best for Katherine. He wanted to see her experience every happy moment, to cherish and share it with her. Nothing was out of the question when it came to special occasions, such as her birthdays or Christmases. He made sure she got all the presents she wanted. If she wanted to go anywhere or do anything, he made sure she got her wish. If there were any special community events such as the 4th of July fair, Spring Fair and the Funfair that would visit the town, he kept his promise that he would take her. And he did, every time. No matter how much his wife Loretta had protested. Oh, he knew the reason behind her objections. He knew all too well that the body count children in the town was increasing. Today it stood at 16. The most recent child was nine-year-old Peter Robertson who went missing at the end of September. His body was nothing but a pile of bones and decayed flesh in one of the furnaces in the power plant. Whenever he got the opportunity, he would properly discard the boy's remains.
When news had spread that Peter had gone missing on the 30th of September, Loretta insisted that Katherine should not be allowed out on Halloween. She argued that the boy had lived on their very street and that the 'killer' was probably watching Katherine too. Freddy had disagreed, like the countless times before, maintaining that nothing would happen to Katherine. That he would keep a close eye on her. And he was. Watching her whenever she played with the children in the park. Studying her and them as they played. Making sure that if any of them dared to cross his little girl, hurt her or shout at her. He would make them pay.
The previous Halloween didn't exactly go according to plan. Just like before, Loretta demanded that Katherine shouldn't be allowed out, seeing as she was too young. Only being three years old at the time. She knew that Katherine had a habit of running about, full of curiosity and enthusiasm. She was petrified that if they were to take her out on Halloween that there would be a chance that that the Springwood Slasher would take her. But again, Freddy subtly told her that their daughter was safe. Though, when he had received a call from his job pleading with him to take on a double shift, he had to let his daughter down that they wouldn't be going out 'trick or treating' as he had promised her. He remembered the look of disappointment on her face. She was devastated. But he vowed he would make it up for her the following year.
She was now a year older, wiser and knew exactly what the Halloween holidays were about. He had told her over the last few weeks how children would dress up in various costumes and characters, that there would be decorations on each house of scary monsters, ghosts, witches. He saw the delight and wonder on her face at the idea of dressing of up. It was a favourite hobby of hers, dressing as princesses, fairies or ballerinas.
It was just past 6.30pm as Freddy hung up a thick blanket on the archway to the living room. It shielded the room from view of the hallway and front door. He wanted to surprise her. A bone in his back cracked as he straightened up and slowly surveyed the living room that he had tastefully decorated in various fake spider webs that hung from the rectangular mirror, from the edge of the fireplace. There were several fake black furry plastic spiders, lighted candles were placed on the fireplace ledge. On the coffee table were various other plastic spiders and red and yellow snakes. Hung from the ceiling were several fake trails of white spider webs and paper skeletal bodies, black and yellow streamers.
He pursed his lips thinking if there was anything else he could put up before Loretta and Katherine arrived back from the mall. There was nothing left to decorate with. He had used every item he had bought. He smiled to himself; he couldn't wait to see her face when she arrived home. She was in such a good mood all week.
Though, she wasn't aware that her mother was again objecting to this little outing. Loretta had been pestering and nagging him all fucking week. No, it was the last two weeks. That was all that fucking woman did. Nag and nag. It was becoming more difficult to control his anger when he was around her. Freddy had given her another stern 'talk' about two nights ago to inform her that Katherine would be allowed out on Halloween night. The small cut to her lip was evidence of the 'talk'. It was then that Loretta finally gave in. It seemed it was the only way that Loretta would learn. By their 'talks'.
That morning Freddy had ordered his wife to take Katherine out to buy another Halloween costume. Despite Katherine admitting during the week that she wanted to dress up as Cinderella, she had at the last moment changed her mind last night. Loretta had scolded her, saying that there was nothing wrong with her outfit and that it was too late to get another one. But Freddy disagreed. Insisting that it was Katherine's big day today. He wanted it to her special or her and that she could buy any costume she wanted. Loretta knew by the warning glare not to argue and so at 1pm both her and Katherine left their home for a shopping trip to the mall. He knew that she didn't want another busted lip like two nights ago.
While they were out shopping, it had given him amble time to decorate the living room and kitchen. Preparing their own little party area. He strode into the kitchen area, which also had the same various white fake spider webs, plastic spiders hanging from the ceiling the corners of the room. But there were also various coloured papered witches, monsters, Dracula and skeletons attached to the cupboards and the walls, and fridge. Various sized candles were lit on the windowsill and along the counter with fake bugs and snakes covering the counter also. Faint haunting music played from an old record player on a small table to the entrance of the room. On the rectangular table was three pumpkins that had initials carved into each one.
FK.
LK.
KK.
Also, on the kitchen table there were four various plastic tubs that were filled with murky red water filled with fake plastic eyeballs, chopped fingers, chopped toes and teeth. Dotted around the table he had placed various plastic fake bones. At the far end of the table was a large metal pot that had lukewarm water with several red and green apples. He had set aside a few bowls for any sweets and chips that she would receive for later for their little party. Though he had secretly bought several bags of candy too and popcorn as he knew that she would want to watch TV. Freddy knew that Loretta would say he was going overboard, but he didn't care. Nothing and no-one was going to ruin this night for his daughter.
There was a click as the lock was turned at the front door. He smiled and walked briskly out of the archway of the kitchen down the hallway to the front door as it opened. His excited four-year daughter ran in swinging a white plastic bag in her right hand. "Hi Daddy!"
"Hi, princess!" he bent down to help her discard her black knee-length winter coat.
Loretta closed the door as and took the coat off him. He could tell she looked exhausted.
Katherine peered behind him at the blanket covering the entrance to the living room, "Daddy, why is that there? Can I go in?"
Freddy stepped in front of her and looked down at her with a smile, "No, not yet. Not until I say so, okay?"
She grinned and nodded, again swinging her bag in her hand. He noticed this, knowing she was trying to entice him to ask what she had bought. He walked over to Loretta. She instinctively froze, a flicker of fear flashed across her face. He tried not to smirk at her uneasiness. But instead gave a reassuring smile. "What did she get? Was it the Dorothy Gale costume she mentioned this morning?"
"No" Loretta shook her head, "she changed her mind. Again. I showed her about four costumes, two different clown costumes. A witch and ghost costume. But she didn't like any of them"
Katherine trotted over to them and beamed up at them both.
Loretta looked down at her little daughter and sighed, "Tell your father why you didn't want the Dorothy Gale costume"
Katherine blushed and smirked, "I said that I didn't have a dog like Toto. So, I wouldn't really be Dorothy, would I?"
He looked down at her and laughed. There was one thing about his daughter she was very perceptive. As he brought his gaze back towards his wife, Freddy noticed the annoyance that tainted her face. Loretta tightly grasped her daughter's coat. Various thoughts ran through her mind. Why could Fred not listen to her? Agree with her for once? Did he not understand how dangerous it was for Katherine to go out trick or tricking? It didn't matter if he was going to be with her. They both knew how energetic she was, how she would go running off whenever she got the opportunity. She turned her head to the right as she saw Freddy looming over her. His breath fluttered over her brown hair as he lightly gripped her chin and tugged her face up towards his. She saw the simmering anger in his blue eyes. He eyed her faint cut lip and smirked. Then soon a slight sneer crept over his face as he warned. "Don't you dare be annoyed at her" his voice was a soft whisper. But she could hear the threatening tone. "This is a special night for her. She has been looking forward to this night all week"
She swallowed hard. "I'm not Fred. I'm just tired. I'm sorry"
Fred studied her shivering face, noticing that her face shuddered out of fear. It thrilled him to see her this way. He leaned forward and kissed her lightly on her quaking lips. Knowing all too well that whenever he touched her or kissed her it made her even more on edge. "Maybe you should get yourself a nice bath" he stepped away from her. She nodded slowly. It was not a suggestion, but an order for her to get out of his sight. He wanted to spend time alone with Katherine.
She took a calming breath and crouched down towards Katherine and beckoned her over. "Now, you be a good girl for your daddy. Okay?"
Katherine skipped over to her and nodded. "I will mommy" she reached up to kiss her cheek. Her eyes quicky scanned her face and she frowned, seeing the faint cut on the corner of her lip. Before she could ask what happened, Loretta stood and walked upstairs.
Freddy stared after his wife. Lost in thought. He heard his daughter shuffling closer to him and turned to face her. Her right hand was still gripping her plastic bag. Her eyes were wide with exhilaration of how the night would turn out. "Do you want to see what I got daddy?"
"First, I want to show you something" he gave a playful smirk. "C'mon"
She grabbed his hand as he walked past her and peered through the gap in the blanket as he parted it for her. Her eyes widened in wonder, and she ran into the living room, mesmerized by the decorations on the walls, ceilings and fireplace. It looked so cosy with the candles shedding a hazy glow in the room. She grinned and giggled as she touched a fake spider on the coffee table. It looked so real, like a big tarantula. "Daddy, did you do this for me?"
"Yes" Freddy smiled. "We can have our own little party here when we finish trick or treating"
"Can we watch a scary movie on TV?"
He looked over to the TV. "We'll see what is on. But nothing too scary, I don't want you having any nightmares!"
She nodded and followed him as he walked into the kitchen. Again, she stared with wide eyes at the garlands and other Halloween decorations. This night was way better than last Halloween. All she did was play dress up in her bedroom with one of her friends, before they had a sleep over. But this was fantastic. She animatedly bounced over towards the kitchen counter and studied the three large pumpkins, eying the letters on each one. "What do they mean? FK? LK? KK?"
"That is the initials of our names" he pointed at each one. "Freddy Krueger for me. Loretta Krueger your mommy. And you Katherine Krueger"
Her eyes widened as she pondered this. "Oh, okay!"
He chuckled and scooped down to lift her in his lean arms. She instantly curled her little legs around his waist and stared up in awe at the thin white fabric of the spider webs as he helped ease her body upwards towards the ceiling. She lightly touched the white cotton material with her little hand and grinned. "They look so real. Where did you get them daddy?"
"That new store that opened in the mall. Remember we walked past it last week?"
She nodded then offered. "Do you want any money daddy? I still have my pocket money!"
Freddy smiled warmly and shook his head. "Don't you worry baby. You keep your money for next week. I'll take you out one day after school when I'm off work"
A bright smiled fanned across her little face, ecstatic by this suggestion. He smiled back and kissed her lightly on the forehead before settling into a chair at the table. Her brown orbs scanned the buckets before her, and her face screwed up in disgust as she peered into the bucket that was floating with various coloured fake eyeballs. "Eeeww!" she pointed at them with a little finger "There's someone's eyes!"
"They're fake" he assured her and smiled again as she turned to face him on his lap. "They're not real" Though he knew that there were real body parts hidden in his secret room. Numerous jars filled with blood and bodily fluids with severed hands, feet, tongues of his last four victims. He pushed those dark images back to the depths of his mind and looked down at her. Her eyes were wide, captivated by his statement.
Her bottom lip parted as she gasped, "They're fake?"
"Yes"
She twisted around on his lap and leaned forward, "They look real" she reached into the bucket with her right hand and touched the plastic eyeball with her finger. Freddy smirked naughtily and jokingly grabbed her waist, making her shriek in surprise. "Daddy! You scared me!"
He smirked and kissed her left cheek quickly. "Gotcha!"
She gave a giggle and averted her attention back towards the other three buckets with the fake teeth, toes and fingers. "Are they fake too daddy?"
"Yep" he then pointed over towards the large pot filled with apples, bobbing up and down in the lukewarm water. "We can bob for apples later"
"How do we do that?" she asked innocently.
"Well, you get your hands tied behind your back and you have to pull out the apples from the bucket with your teeth" he explained.
She nodded then asked. "Do we have any sparklers? I saw people with them outside!"
"Yes, I have some. But you can't run with them. Because I know how fast you can be. We wouldn't want you to fall and burn yourself. Would we?"
"Nope" she shook her head in agreement.
Freddy glanced down at the white plastic bag that she had left on the floor and then smiled. "So, you little rascal. What costume did you buy? I thought you wanted to be Cinderella. Why did you change your mind?"
"I just remembered all those scary stories you would tell me!" she said with a grin.
"Scary stories?" he had told her so many bedtime tales throughout the last few years, he didn't remember them all. "What one?"
She hopped off his lap and bent down to rummage through the bag, then pulled out a dark brown mask with fake fur. Her body twisted away from him with her back towards him as she giggled and pulled the mask over her head. She adjusted the mask on her face and swung back to him giggling again. A brown furry mask of a werewolf greeted him. On the rubber mask where her lips would be he saw white painted drawings of fake sharp teeth had speckles of red paint that signified the blood. There was as a small gap for her mouth, enabling her to speak. "I want to be a werewolf and scare people!" She slowly curled her fingers inwards in the shape of claws and laughed as she gazed at him through two small holes around her eyes.
Freddy broke out into a playful smile and slowly pulled off her mask, studying it in his hands. His eyes roamed over the brown imitation of fur that was scraggily and covered the back of the rubber mask and along the sides. There were about eight painted teeth along the lips, four on the bottom and top. The lips were pulled upwards into a snarl. He smirked darkly. It pleased him that Katherine wanted to do something different from the normal princesses and fairies she would normally be interested in. Perhaps she would have more of his personality that he assumed. He bent down and looked into the bag for the rest of her costume, pulling it out. It was a two-piece costume. A long-sleeved brown top with more fake cotton brown fur stitched along the back, sides and front. The trousers again were dark brown with more cotton material stitched along the sides of the legs, again indicating fake fur. He flattened them on his lap and grinned at her. "Good idea Kat"
She smiled back and then enthusiastically reached into the bag, "Look daddy, you get claws with it too!" she whipped out two small brown gloves that had attached to them plastic fingernails and a thumb. "I can use them to eat up the little piggies!"
"Piggies?" he asked with raised eyebrows.
"Yeah, it's like the story you would tell me at bedtime. The three pigs and the big bad wolf" she nodded with a grin, "The big bad wolf has these sharp claws which he would use to eat up the piggies!"
Freddy gave a small nod. His mind started to wander, running her words through his twisted mind. He blinked once and felt her eagerly tug his hand. "Daddy, can we go? Please?"
"Of course, honey" he gripped her costume in his hands. "Let's get you ready"
He silently dressed her into her costume and was about to pull on her mask when she asked a question that stopped him. "Daddy, is mommy, okay?"
Freddy adjusted the sleeves of her top. "Yes, she's just tired"
"What's wrong with her lip?" she asked innocuously.
He felt his hands clench tightly on the rim of the fabric; a blaze of anger soared through his body. Not at his daughter. But at his wife. If only she had covered that fucking cut on her lip properly. Freddy gave Katherine a soothing smile. "You know how clumsy mommy can be. She must have fallen down the stairs"
She naively nodded and accepted his answer. "Oh, okay"
Freddy let out a slow breath, trying to pacify this anger. But it still annoyed him that Katherine had questioned him about Loretta's cut lip. He would have a word with that bitch before he left the house. After finishing dressing his daughter in her werewolf costume he pulled on her small plastic clawed gloves, then pulled on her mask. He tugged and yanked the mask on so that she could clearly see through the little holes where her eyes would be. "Can you see, okay?"
She nodded.
He stood and led her out of the kitchen towards the front door. Hung up on one of the hooks of the coat stand was a small white plastic bucket, painted in the face of a ghost with her name printed at the bottom. Katherine smiled as he handed it to her. "I'm going to tell your mommy that we are heading out. Just wait here"
She tightly gripped the handle of her bucket that was for her candy and waited for him to return.
Freddy cursed under his breath as he entered the master bedroom he shared with his wife. Loretta was beside the bed sorting out her nightdress for after her bath, unaware of him entering as he crept up behind her. She swung around and jumped as he approached her. His lips curled into a snarl as he glared at her. Two faint bruises were on her right arm, just above her elbow. A reminder of a past beating he gave her a few weeks before. She stood before him dressed only in a plain white brassiere and her black knee length skirt. Her body trembled as he grasped her arm and tugged her forward roughly. "I really think you should start covering up your busted lip with makeup!" he snapped. "Katherine just asked me about your fucking lip!"
Her bottom lip dropped open and she held back a small sob, "I'm sorry Fred. I didn't realise. I thought I had put enough concealer over it"
"Well, you didn't!" his fingers curled tighter around her arm making her wince in pain. He shoved her backwards against the wall and she held back a cry. Not wanting Katherine to hear. She didn't want her daughter to ever know that her father was beating her. She knew how much Freddy meant to Katherine. She saw him as her hero. Loretta froze as Freddy took a step closer. "We're heading out now. We'll be back in an hour, and we'll be spending the rest of the night downstairs. Keep out of my sight. Understand?"
His wife gulped hard and nodded, wiping away at her tears. "Yes Fred"
He quietly muttered to himself as he left their bedroom and took a deep breath, calming himself before he went down to his daughter. Katherine expectantly looked up at him as he pulled on his brown trench coat and fedora hat. "You ready?"
She bounced happily on her feet and nodded, "Yep!"
As he opened the red door of their home to the street, the sound of loud bangs and crackling of fireworks greeted them. Katherine stared up in wonder at the night sky as various fireworks exploded into vibrant colours, illuminating the sky. The bright reds, pinks and purples from the sparks of the fireworks reflected on her face and eyes as she gaped up at them. "Daddy, can we get fireworks for next year?"
He tightly clasped her free hand and led her down the path from their house. "We'll see. How about we decorate the outside of the house next year? Like the other houses in the street" he pointed at a house to their right and she looked over. The house had various carved pumpkins set outside with various paper witches, ghosts and ghouls fluttering from the pillars and attached to the windows. She twisted her head up to him as he stopped at the sidewalk. "Yeah. That'd be great!"
Freddy smiled at her and then turned his attention to the numerous children about with their parents and babysitters following close behind. All the little brats were dressed in various Halloween costumes – ghosts, witches, Dracula, mummies, clowns, lions, skeletons amongst other scary monsters and fairy tale characters. He knew that if Katherine wasn't out tonight with him and if he had the opportunity, he would snatch one of the little fucks and take them to the power plant. But not tonight. Tonight, his attention was on Katherine. He would think of the children another time.
"What do I do daddy?" her big brown eyes peered up at him through the two small holes in her mask. She was tugged across the road to the other side of the road. "Well, you go up to the house and knock the door. When they open the door you say, 'trick or treat' and then you'll be given some candy or sometimes some pennies! But you must be nice and polite and remember to say thank you when they give you your treats!"
She nodded and looked over towards the house to her right, seeing that it was the Thompson's house. "Will I go to Mr and Mrs Thompson's house first?"
He nodded but warned. "Now, when you are finished you come straight back to me. No wandering off with the other kids to the other houses. I don't want you running away on me!"
"I won't daddy. I'll come straight back" she replied.
Flashing her a pleased smile he nodded for her to follow a small group of children up the path to the front door. She felt exhilaration flow through her little body as she skipped away, towards the door. One of the kids at the front pushed the doorbell and the group of children waited patiently. There was a shuffle of feet beyond the blue door and it slowly creaked opened revealing Marge Thompson, her auburn hair tied flowing around her face. She smiled warmly down at the children as they chanted.
"Trick or treat!"
In the background Marge's young daughter Nancy joyously played with her friend Tina Grey, both dressed in matching tinker bell costumes. Marge stepped back into the hallway where a small bowl of candy and treats were on a small table. She lifted it and began to scoop handfuls of treats into the plastic bags and plastic buckets that were held out by the delighted children. Marge said hello to a few of the children, instantly recognising them under their painted faces. But when she looked at the werewolf she smiled and asked, "And who is this?"
"It's me Mrs Thompson. Katherine Krueger!"
"Oh, Katherine! Your costume is great!" Marge said with a smile, "You look so scary!"
"Thank you, Mrs Thompson," Katherine chirped and investigated her white bucket seeing packets of Starburst fruit chews, Lemonhead, Sweetarts Candy and Haribo Gummy Bears. She spun on her heel and scurried back to her father as he waited at the edge of the path. His gaze was set upon two young girls aged about 9 years old as they passed him, lost in his perverted thoughts. But again, he pushed them aside and craned his gaze down at his daughter as he stood at his side. He broke into a smile, "So, what did you get?"
She eagerly lifted her bucket and showed him her stash of candy so far.
"Now, you can't eat all your candy tonight. You can keep them for during the week too" he informed her.
Katherine nodded and he walked down towards the next house. Like with the house before she eagerly ran up to the door with a few other children, knocked the door and waited for her turn to get her candy. After twenty minutes they had arrived at their sixth house along the street. As they passed each house Katherine pointed in awe at the various fake mannequins of scarecrows, witches and ghosts that hung outside each house. They also stood for several minutes watching a vibrant colourful firework display over the roof of a nearby house. With each crackle and boom Katherine gasped with wonder. Freddy gently rubbed her back, elated that she was enjoying herself.
After coming back from the next house Katherine lightly shook her bucket seeing that the contents were nearly at the top of the bucket. "Can we go to one more house daddy? Please?"
He glanced at his watch, the time reading 7.45pm. "Just one more house. Then we'll head home"
She jumped up and down with elation and followed his gaze as he looked over to the next house to his left. There was a large porch with two large ghouls hanging on the beams of the wood. "Go to that one, then straight back to me"
With a curt nod of her head, she briskly walked over to the house, following three children dressed in clown, Frankenstein and witch costumes. Freddy watched her quietly then heard a set of footsteps behind him. "Hi, Fred"
He twisted around and gave a false smile to one of his work colleagues Jimmy Wilson. "Hi Jimmy, how are you?"
"Good, just taking Dennis out for the evening" he cocked his head at his eight-year-old son at this side. He looked down at the boy dressed in a vampire costume. "Straight back when you are finished at this house"
The boy nodded and ran up to the house, leaving his father and Freddy chatting quietly.
"Thank you" Katherine said and bounced down the steps of the porch. Her eyes peeked into the bucket and saw that there were three more packets of candy – Pixy Stix, Gold Mine Gum and another packet of Cherry Sours. She giggled to herself and began to make her way across the lawn when three older girls stopped her. Her eyes darted towards one of them with their face painted in dark green paint. A black pointed hat was perched on her head. She knew who she was. Natasha Smyth. She was seven years old, and she knew her from the park. Her mother had told her that she was too old to play with, but the girl would constantly try and play with her and her best friend Lucy. From the times she did play with her in the park, Katherine felt intimidated. Not because the girl was taller and older, but because she was a little rough when she played. She was too bossy. There were two other girls at Natasha's side, both their faces concealed by the masks they wore.
Natasha stopped her and smiled, unaware of who she was. "Hi, what candy did you get?"
Katherine shuffled uneasily on her feet and titled the edge of her bucket back slightly, allowing Natasha to peek inside. The older girl leaned forward and then in a violent flurry, snatched the bucket out of her hands. A pair of hands gripped Katherine's right arm, tearing into her costume as one of the other girls tugged her backwards. She cried out and fell back onto the grassy lawn. Natasha and the two other girls greedily swooped down and grabbed the stash of candy Katherine had collected and ran across the road. Giggling and laughing.
Katherine's bottom lip trembled behind her mask, and she let out a sob, clambering to her feet. She ran towards her father on the sidewalk, leaving her white bucket on the grass. "Daddy!"
Freddy became alert and swung around, cutting short his conversation with his work colleague. He knelt before her as she crashed into his chest and buried her head into his shoulders, sobbing loudly. Her tiny hands wrapped around his neck tightly, "What happened baby?"
She wearily lifted her head, and he pulled off her mask, seeing the tears streaming down her face. "They ripped my costume" she lifted her right arm showing the tear on the fabric just above her wrist. "She stole my candy!"
He vigilantly looked around the street and his eyes narrowed in derision at the children as they merrily ran from house to house. His nostrils flared in rage; his teeth clenching together. "Who was it baby?" his voice came out in a low snarl.
"Natasha. Natasha Smyth" she whispered into his ear through her sobs.
Freddy's fingers curled into the curve of her spine as he rose to his feet. She winced slightly at the pressure on her bones, but he quicky relaxed his fingers and patted her back lightly. "It's okay baby girl. It's okay"
"Is everything okay?" his work colleague asked.
"Yes" Freddy strained to keep the anger from his voice, "I'm taking her home"
His eyes continued to dart about the street as he marched home. He felt Katherine's hands tighten around his neck as she snuggled against his shoulder. Her sobs were still audible as she wailed quietly. He hushed her and ran his left hand over her back, up and down. "It's okay baby. Daddy's here"
Katherine titled her head to the left, resting her cheek on his chest. Her eyes were red and puffy, and she sniffled, "I want mommy"
"We're heading home. We're nearly there" he kissed her temple softly, his voice soft and comforting. He right hand gripped her mask, and he threw a death glare at several children as they hopped and skipped past him. The little fucks. He always knew that he despised the children. Ever since he was a child himself and even when he was growing up, he hated the little brats. But tonight, just reaffirmed his thoughts of revulsion towards them. How dare they pick on his child? His little girl?
That name. Natasha Smyth. He heard it before. But where from?
As he came to his house, Freddy strode up the path to the red door and quickly entered the house. He slammed the door behind him with his foot and called out for his wife. "Loretta!"
The floorboards above creaked and soon his young wife appeared at the stop of the stairs, dressed in a light pink house coat over her plain pink silk nightdress. Her eyes widened in alarm at the sight of her daughter crying in her husband's arms. She hurried down the stairs as Fred began to undress the costume from Katherines shaking frame. Leaving her in her jeans, white t-shirt and black painted shoes. "What happened?"
Katherine sobbed and twisted around to her as she crouched before her. "Mommy!" the little girl flung herself into her mother's arms. "She t-took my c-candy" her voice stammered.
Loretta hushed her and saw the rip on Katherine's costume. Her gaze flew towards Fred as she rose to her feet, cradling her daughter in her arms. She saw Fred's jaw clenched in ire; his hands taut on the costume in his hands. His blue eyes were constricted beneath his fedora, staring straight ahead. She knew that look. Pure rage. "Who was it, Fred?"
Freddy blinked and let out a long trembling breath. Trying to pacify his anger. But he knew that the anger inside him would not be subdued until that little bitch Natasha was dead. He took a step towards his wife and daughter and gently touched his daughter's hair. He gave Loretta a stern glare. "Take her into the kitchen Loretta. Make her something to eat" he titled his head forward to lightly kiss Katherine's cheek. "Don't worry baby. You'll be okay. You and your mommy will do something nice to cheer you up"
Katherine shifted in Loretta's arms and slanted her head back. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying. "Can I bob for apples?"
"Yes honey" Loretta soothingly rubbed her back. Then with one last nervous look at her husband she quickly made her way down towards the kitchen.
The fingers on Freddy's hands stiffened around the wolf costume as stomped down the hall to the basement door. As he descended the steps his hand slipped into his back pocket and took out a small silver key. He quickly unlocked the door to his private room and entered, closing it tightly behind him. He past two shelves filled with his various murderous bladed and hooked gloves. Harsh profanities came from his mouth as he sat on a small chair at his work bench. What was meant to be a wonderful, happy night for his daughter Katherine was now destroyed by that little slut Natasha. Well, that little bitch would get her comeuppance. Her blood would soon stain his blades. "Little fucker" he growled.
He left the costume on his lap and eagerly reached over for his scrapbook of victims, opening it to the next blank page. Snatching a small pencil from the bench he neatly wrote down a name on the top of the page.
Natasha Smyth
He threw the pencil on the bench and slowly looked up at his gloves across the way on the shelves, pondering on what one to use on the little whore. It was clear to him now, who she was. He had seen Katherine play with her a few times in the park. But from what Katherine had told him, the girl Natasha would join in with her and her friends. They never asked her to play with them. She a little older than Katherine too. About seven or eight years old. A good age for him to have some fun with her before he gutted her. His eyes swooped down towards the costume on his knees, scanning and studying the fake blood on the lips of the mask. The small white painted teeth. The plastic curved nails for the claws of the wolf. Slowly, he looked up at his steel gloves and hooked gloves. A heinous smile crept across his face, and he thought of Katherine's words from earlier.
"The big bad wolf has these claws which he would use to eat up the piggies!"
Those words meant something dark and twisted to him now. He was the big bad wolf, and the children were his prey. They were the little piggies for him to butcher. And the next piggy to be slaughtered by the big bad wolf was Natasha Smyth.
No one hurts Freddy Krueger's little girl and gets away with it.

Author's Note: I always believed that Freddy would have done anything for Katherine when he was alive. I had to say I enjoyed writing the fluffy scenes between Freddy and young Katherine. It's nice to see him being normal. Well as normal as he can be lol.
Please let me know what you think. And hope you have a nice Halloween.
