Disclaimers: I do not own Naruto or Zero no Tsukaima
A year passed by and Naruto became Louise's closest confidante. It might seem strange to others, after all, how could one's closest confidante be an magical entity who did not truly exist. In Louise's case, it was not strange at all. When one's parents often left home in favour of meeting other nobles and when one's siblings were off studying, Naruto was all she had.
Though she was still bored, being home all the time did that to her, and so when her father told her that she was to accompany him to the capital, she was predictably thrilled.
Thrilled until the moment her father said 'to become the princess' playmate.'
She already had Naruto as her playmate and she didn't need another one. No one could understand her like Naruto. She wanted to tell her father to 'play with the princess himself,' but she was a noble and nobles did not engage themselves in rude talks.
She tried lying in bed when the fated day arrived but her attempt at foul play turned futile and she was dragged from her bed to the carriage in her bedding gown.
Luckily, she prepared for the worst and Naruto was already within her luggage.
Sadly the carriage ride was not an enjoyable experience, especially when her father lectured continuously about the 'proper noble conducts within in the palace.' She really should've listened to Naruto when he told her about the failures of her plan.
In was dark by the time they arrived in Tristania. Even though it was dark, the town was buzzing with people. The royal palace loomed over the town and she marveled at it's construction.
She wanted to jump down the car and walk around the streets and every corners of the capital but her father was there and doing so would be improper and would earn her another hour of lecture on proper behavior. The carriage arrived at the palace and they were taken to their quarters. Her father left, stating that he should greet the King and Queen but Louise was too tired and simply went to bed.
Her father was gone by the time she woke up but there were food on the table. Her hunger got the better of her and she moved quickly to it before she paste the bread with jam and started eating it.
In was then when she noticed a note on the table.
Opening it she found that it was from her father. Father wrote that he will be attending a meeting with the King before mentioning that she was not allowed to leave the castle grounds and that she should be acquaint herself with the princess. Next to that were directions to the princess' room.
She was a noble and nobles listened to their parents but since her father said she 'should acquaint herself with the princess' rather than she 'must acquaint herself with the princess,' Louise was not going to acquaint herself with the princess.
The only left her the option of locking herself in the room.
And no, Louise wasn't lonely, she spent most of her morning reading about Naruto's pranks. Coating caramel onto the evil orphanage caretaker's undergarments was truly a funny thing even though it was not the most noblest of actions.
Her peaceful morning could not last and this one ended when a knock resonated on her door.
"Are you the royal playmate that the Duke de la Valierre had brought for me?"
That told Louise that it was the princess and so she ignored the voice and continued conversing with Naruto.
"I hear you laughing moments before I knocked so I know you are in there." The voice said imperatively and Louise thought that she probably should not have laughed too much when reading of Naruto's pranks but he was an expert at bringing out her joys. Since this was rather similar to a prank she was going to treat it as such. Naruto always said that one must deny all accusations when caught and so she continued to ignore the princess outside her room.
"I am a princess!" the voice screamed as the knocks got louder and became more continuous, but Louise remained silent as she wrote of the princess' crazy knockings to Naruto.
A few minutes later the knocks disappeared. The princess must have ran out of power.
'Why don't you try befriending her? She might be as lonely as you. Besides, Louise-chan deserves more friends,' Naruto wrote. A noble like her surely deserved more friends but a kind person like Naruto also deserved more friends, yet other than the hokage, he had no one, no one but her.
'What about you?' She wrote, being with other people would reduce her time with Naruto. He was always there for her, he was always kind to her and he always wanted the best for her.
'I'll be fine, Louise-chan shouldn't worry about me.' Were the texts that appeared and Louise was going to write back how stupid and horrible he was sounding had the door to her room not opened.
Standing there was a girl with violet hair, the small tiara on her head told Louise that she was the princess. The sudden entrance caused Louise to immediately close Naruto.
I demand you to play with me this instant." Said the princess but Louise ignored her in favour of Naruto. Louise was not one to be ordered around by some random princess.
She hoped that ignoring that princess would make her leave but it wasn't so. Louise fixation with Naruto drew in the princess and by the time she realized what was happening, the princess had grabbed Naruto and was asking "What is this?"
"Louise was downright shocked by the princess' improper conduct. The Princess, though of royal blood, was acting like a common thief. Naruto was hers and that was that.
"Why won't this open!" The princess wailed as she tried opening the book, the action brought some appeasement to Louise's heart. Using her servants for experimentations at home made Louise realize that she was the only one who could open the book.
"Give him back," Louise screamed after her appeasement died down. Her threatening features was second to none, the princess looked visibly frightened and promptly ran away.
If she had left empty handed Louise would not have cared but the annoying princess had to leave with Naruto and Naruto was hers and so the chase across the palace grounds began.
The princess' laughter was a beacon for Louise, though she could not understand what the princess was laughing about, perhaps the princess a little wrong in the head.
Louise would have already given up if the princess had taken anything other than Naruto. A noble simply did not run around randomly and 5 hours of running around was not fun.
Their chase moved from the castle to the royal gardens where Louise caught sight of the princess, laughing as she ran into the maze of roses. The sky was darkening and Louise was hungry, thirsty and tired yet Naruto was still in the princess' evil clutches. It was something Louise could not allow.
As she made her way into the maze, a scream suddenly resonated, a scream that sounded like the princess' annoying laughs.
And while unbefitting of a noble, Louise was now digging her way through the bushes, destroying many flowers as she made her way to the source of the noise.
She was still hidden in the rose bush when she saw the princess being captured by a suspicious beefy looking man. His eyes resembled the villagers she saw in her dreams, the villagers whom were trying to hurt Naruto, the villagers whom were beyond the point of drunkenness.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here if not the princess herself." The man gurgled out as the princess tried to struggle free from his grip. His sleaziness brought shivers to her skin and Louise would have sent an explosion at him if Naruto was not within the blasting range.
"Unhand me this instant you uncouth man!" The princess declared as she flailed. The princess must be rather unaware of the situation if her daringness was anything to go by.
"What did you say you brat." Luckily the princess' daring words went unheard, probably due to the ungodly amount of alcohol the man seemed to have consumed. The man eyes went blank as he gazed across the horizon before he came to a suddenly realization.
"You! You're going to pay for what the king did. How dare he dismissed this Lafayette, leader of the manticore corps!" His complaining frightened the princess but his flailing also gave various openings and with a sudden and precise movement, the princess kicked the man in the crotch, causing wails of pain. Sadly the kick was not strong enough to not release the princess fro Lafayette's grasp.
"You brat! How dare you humiliate me this way!" Lafayette growled out, voice coated with pain, though he looked much more angrier. Somehow, his pain blew away his drunkenness and he realized that the princess was holding onto Naruto.
"And what is that?" Lafayette asked but did not wait for any answer as his hands snatched the book the princess' grasp. Clearly he was a noble of vile standards, one should always wait for clear answers before taking someone else's belonging. It occurred the Louise that the princess had done the same thing before she ran away with Naruto. Perhaps the nobles in the capital are brought up without the study of manners.
"Grr. What the hell is wrong with this book." The rude rotund noble was clearly annoyed when his attempt to open Naruto failed.
"Give that back to me this instant! That is my playmate's precious item." The princess once more declared and whilst the violet-haired girl aptitude in assessing the situation sunk lower and lower, Louise was strangely touched by the princess' protectiveness towards her friend.
"Damn this!" Lafayette shouted before he threw the book away before he gripped the princess in a strong body lock. "I'll just keep you instead. No one messes with Lafayette, not even the king." He continued.
Louise was mad the moment the stupid fat noble threw Naruto onto the ground. No on threw Naruto on the ground, no one.
Throwing Naruto away also meant that the fat noble now have no protection against Louise.
Coming out of her hiding place, she pointed her want towards Lafayette and said "levitation."
Only he didn't levitate.
"Ha! Are you even a noble? You can't even cast ma-" He didn't finish his rude remarks as the ground before him promptly exploded, sent him flying across the bushes and knocked him out.
The princess looked rather messy with dirt and leaves on her face and body but she was otherwise safe. Lafayette's round body was a good cushion when face with strong explosive impacts.
"Wow." The princess said and she looked towards Louise is awe before she stood up, moved towards Louise and embraced her in a rather tight hug.
Of course Louise did not reciprocate, she was still rather anger, tired and dirty from all the running.
"Don't take Naruto from me again. He's very important to me so you just can't." The chasing, running and explosion must be taking a toll on her as she felt tears streaming down her eyes. "If you wanted to play, you could've asked nicely," she said between sobs.
Her crying was the start of a chain reaction seeing that the princess was now in tears as well.
"I-I am sorry. I n-never had any friends my age a-and when f-father said you're here I-I was o-overexcited. W-will you be my friend?"
Louise wanted to say no out of spite but she thought about the princess' protectiveness towards Naruto and decided that someone who cared about Naruto couldn't be so bad. The fact that the princess' laughed throughout their whole chase also told Louise that the princess might be as lonely as she was before she found Naruto.
"O-of course, your highness."
"Please, call me Henrietta."
"Then your highness must call me Louise."
The explosion Louise used alarmed the palace's guards and it was how the adults found them. The queen was rather shocked by the destruction of her flowered maze but upon seeing Lafayette and hearing Henrietta's expiation about his attempted treason, she hugged the two girls before she ordered the imprisonment of the noble.
After a week of playing together, Louise showed her first 'touchable' friend Naruto and learned that she was the only one who could see his writings.
Henrietta, who saw only Louise's writing thought that Naruto was Louise's imaginary friend and said.
"Oh Louise! I have an imaginary friend as well. He's called prince Claudius and we are deeply in love yet our status as cousins estrange us, but love conquers all and we shall have out happy ending. Come Louise, you must tell me of your Naruto as I tell you of my Claudius."
Apparently Henrietta had a similar book. Only hers was written by her alone. Louise was practical enough not to inform anyone else about the princess' radical dreams.
Naruto wasn't a bit jealous, he even wrote her a big 'congratulation' with a large smile but he was about her if she got hurt while protecting the princess. It was unfair, someone as cheerful and kind as him should not have a lonely life.
Louise was tearful when her father said they were returning home. Luckily there were messenger birds. The continuous letters between Louise and Henrietta
Never stoped.
Henrietta's pov:- After Louis saved her they became friends. And Louis her about naruto but she that just Louis imaginary friend. After that they talked about the funny thing happened in their life's.
she had told Louis even her the secret affair between she and her cousin. But she did not told all her secrets she did not told her about her very first friend hinata who always keeps her company.
