Head still reeling from Hunter's words Omega stirred fitfully, struggling to sleep. At least she didn't have to worry about waking Hunter. His heightened senses woke him any time one of the other batchers wasn't sleeping, but Tech had given him a sedative to help him sleep through his recent shoulder injury.

Omega's eyes snapped open. That gnawing pain in her heart wouldn't subside, and anytime her mind started to quiet she just heard Hunter's hurtful words.

What were you thinking? You almost got Echo killed! You can't just make your own calls, you are a part of this team." Hunter spat at her. Omega couldn't help but flinch at the words.

"Well maybe I shouldn't be"

Omega had spent most of her adolescence now being taken care of by her brothers. Even though she was older now, she still felt helpless on many of their missions. A thought emerged, but she hesitated. It had never occurred to her to leave the batch, but as she thought about it, some time apart was seeming more and more appealing.

Omega slowly got up, flinching as the cold floor squeaked beneath her feet. She dressed in her daily outfit: black pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and a jacket. After lacing up her boots she stood up. She loved those boots because even though she was much taller now, 5'7", she was still far shorter than the rest of the group. The boots gave her a couple of inches and made her feel more like a part of the team. Pushing thoughts of her family away, she grabbed the essentials and backed them in a small bag. Then, she slipped out the door and into the night.

Making her way through the streets of Ord Mantell, Omega wondered if she was making a mistake. But she carried on, something inside her convincing her to keep going. Upon reaching Cid's parlour, she reached under the mat to find the spare key and opened the door. You would think someone as smart as Cid wouldn't have as easy access of a hiding place, Omega thought to herself.

When Omega walked in she was surprised to see the light on in Cid's office. She knocked, and Cid's voice from inside grumbled "come in". When she entered Cid had a blaster pointed at her.

"Oh, it's you" Cid lowered her blaster, having not been expecting to see Omega this late at night.

"What'cha doin' here kid?" Cid asked.

"Well I actually came to ask you a favor" Omega replied, suddenly nervous "I don't have any money to pay you but I need your help to get off-world and find someone who can get me a job" Omega shifted from one foot to the other. Cid peered around her,

"Where's the rest of the batch" Cid asked, crinkling her brow.

"They're not coming" Omega stammered, "It's just me" Cid's eyes widened and she asked

"Why? What happened?" Omega, somewhat curtly responded

"It's not important. Can you help me or not?" Cid, still looking worried responded

"Of course, I will, kid" She waddled around her desk and opened a drawer on the side of the room. Coming back to Omega she handed her a few items. "This is the key to a shipyard where you can rent a ship. I've given you enough credits to get you by a few days but you'll need to find work soon. Head to Mos Eisley-there are relatively few imperials but be careful" her eyes looked sternly into Omega's, "the people there are ruthless. At any of the bars, you'll be able to find work." Omega nodded in understanding.

"Thank you," Omega said earnestly. Cid handed her one more item,

"If you ever need anything, you can contact me with this" Omega put all the items in the small backpack she was carrying. Cid grabbed her hand "Seriously kid, be careful out there" Omega looked Cid in the eye and responded,

"I will" then she started to make her way out of Cid's office.

"Wait!" Omega turned around at Cid's voice "What should I tell your brothers?" Omega paused, then said

"Tell them to trust me" Cid nodded in understanding. With that, Omega turned and left the parlor.

Getting off Ord Mantell was easy enough. The man at the shipyard had given her a small ship whose controls were not too far off from the Marauder's. As she took off the sun was just starting to rise and she knew her brothers would be waking up soon. With her resolve hardened, she entered hyperspace, Ord Mantell and her brothers growing farther and farther away.
