When Tech woke up something felt off. He couldn't quite put his finger on what was wrong until he remembered the fight Omega and Hunter had had the night before. They had disagreed before, but this time was different and it worried him. He sat up and rubbed his eyes groggily before reaching for his goggles and settling them on his face. But as he looked around the Marauder his pulse quickened. Omega's bed was empty and her com was sitting on top. Omega never woke up first, much less left without them. This was cause for concern. Tech gently shook Hunter awake. Even with the sedative, it did not take him long to regain consciousness. Hunter's first thought was that she had been taken, but Tech assured him that was impossible. Besides, a kidnapper would not have taken the time to make Omega's bed. Once the other batchers were awake they decided to go see Cid, knowing that was the only place Omega would logically be.
When they walked in the door Hunter immediately knew something was wrong. Cid's heart rate was elevated and she was very tense. It was Echo who spoke first,
"Cid, have you seen Omega? She wasn't at the ship when we woke up." Cid took a deep breath before saying
"Yeah, she stopped by a couple hours ago" Hunter took a step forward
"What do you mean she stopped by? Where was she going" he asked gruffly. Cid shifted uncomfortably
"Look I don't know what's going on but she was looking for transport off-world" Hunter looked like he might burst into flames.
"WHAT?!" he shouted
"She asked me to tell you to trust her" Cid explained. Within seconds Hunter had Cid pinned up against the wall, his forearm on her neck.
"And you just let her go?!"
"Hunter!" Tech's voice snapped Hunter out of it and he released Cid.
"This is my fault" Hunter took a step back "Kriff it, I never should have said those things last night!" Hunter was holding his head, clearly distressed. The rest of the batch was too stunned to speak.
"What do we do now?" the voice came from Wrecker, who said it uncharacteristically quietly.
"I don't think there's anything we can do," Tech said sadly, "We just have to trust in Omega."
