Mornings in the Noceda household in the past were normally quite loud with Luz usually waking up and making her normal bathroom rush through the hallway. So when Camila woke up to the sound of silence she was taken back. Sure Vee was a quite sleeper but with a house full of teenagers she expected something. Her motherly instincts kicking in she dawned a simple robe and went to check on the girls. Opening her door she saw Luz and Vee soundly sleeping on the bunk beds. Breathing a sigh of relief she turned to Willow and Amity atop their folding beds she'd had in storage. Seeing nothing wrong she started closing the door only for two creatures to rush past her. Following after them she saw the large bee and white cat atop her counter eying her.

"Hello there…umm Ghost, and I believe it was Clover?" hearing their names they perked up.

The kids said they while may look and act like animals they don't require food which is good as feeding six kids is going to be hard enough. After turning on her coffeemaker and giving the little pats she went to check on the boys in the basement finding a slightly more chaotic scene then last night. Multiple boxes had been opened and their contents spilled about the place.

"I'll have to have a word with Gus about this." The boy in question she found not atop his makeshift couch bed but curled up next to hunter who looked as though he'd was having the first restful sleep in some time.

Guess I really can't blame them. They spent all of last day pouring over what notes Luz and Amity could remember trying to figure out the portal.

Flapjack seeing her awoke Gus's palisman who with more speed then she gave a chameleon even a magic one rushed up the stairs. What awaited her back in the kitchen was a group of magical creatures having what she guessed was a conversation. Various meows and chirps with the occasional buzzing and reptile hiss.

The sight was so strange that she did nothing for the longest time simply standing there taking it all in. Above her she heard footsteps and knew one of the girls was awake. When Clover perked up and flew upstairs, she knew it was Willow and turned to start her morning routine only for less than three minutes later for Clover to fly downstairs franticly buzzing.

Ghost listened for a moment before raising a paw toward Camila with a calm meow. Her response was to fly around her head multiple times frantically buzzing before Camila gently grabbed her. "Clover calm down and tell me what's wrong."

"Bzzzz!" wiggling free it grabbed her fingers tugging her toward the stairs. Instincts kicking in again she rushed upstairs following Clover to the bathroom and finding Willow clutching the sink her formerly braided hair a mess and crying.

Clover flew to her master hovering over her hand.

"Clover you didn't have to get Camila I'm fine really." Rubbing her eyes she started to leave. "I'm finished really you can-" her words fell short as Camila gently hugged her. Willow stiffened for a moment before wrapping her arms around her.

"It's okay to let it out Willow." With permission given she started to cry in honest as Camila quietly nudged the door closed to give them privacy.

Through chocked sobs she heard the words "dads" and "morning." Barely understating she turned her gaze to Clover who had picked up a fallen hairbrush sporting Willow's bluish grey strands. Starting to somewhat get the picture she waited until Willow calmed down enough to speak.

"Thank you Camila I just…."

"Had some troubles with senior tangles?"

Willow's response was a very confused look as Camila grabbed the comb. "It's the nickname Luz gave the comb back when she had long hair."

Willow chucked already imagining a long-haired Luz having a conversation with a comb. "That sounds like her all right."
"Yes, but know I'd like to know about you. Assuming of course it's okay with you. You don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to."

Willow looked away for a moment trying not to look in Camila's all too familiar warm brown eyes. "You'll think it's stupid."

"Willow, I promise there's nothing you can say that I'll find stupid."

Hearing this she wiped more tears from her eyes before running her hand through her former right braid. "It's just every morning one of my dad's always took the time to unbraid and comb my hair. It was something he did without fail even if he was busy or running late." Looking in the mirror she thought of the last time when he'd done it. Her coming downstairs and seeing his large form at the table enjoying his scream tea.

"Morning dad, you getting ready for another day of running the shop?"

"Of course my little Willow branch."

"Dad, you know I'm getting too old for that nickname." She said sitting down and watching a small smile form as he raised the comb.

"Oh? And are we too old to have your dear old dad comb your hair?"

"I'm never too old for that." Even now she remembered him undoing her braid and gently running the comb through her hair while her other dad put breakfast on the table and whished them a good morning. She could still hear their voices which only made it worse.

"I…I…I had just undid one of my braids when I saw he wasn't behind me waiting. Then I remembered he was still in the Boiling Isles with the collector." Her sobs started again as she went on. "They were branded witches, so they were there! and I didn't even try to search for them. We just rushed past them and the coven leaders to try and stop Belos and now….now…" She'd done her best to try not to imagine what could have been.

We barely checked on them! Most were barely alive! How much magic did they lose!? Was it permanent!? What state are they in now?!

Seeing Willow starting to have a panic attack she grabbed the girl gently by her shoulders. "Willow take a breath."

"But…but..but!"

"Breath, deep breath in and deep breath out. Focus on my words and nothing else."

Hesitantly Willow began to breath in and out. "Good, now in and out slowly." Bit by bit she calmed down enough to focus on breathing.

"Now Willow I know your worried about you dads and that's more than understandable, but I think we both know their alright."

"How?"

"Because they raised such a strong little witch."

A blush forming Willow meekly said. "I'm not that strong…"

"Nonsense, from what Luz and the others have told me you're a girl that doesn't let any obstacle stand in her way. Captain of your schools flyer derby team, easily pinning down Hunter when his coffee high kicked in, able to cover your entire school in plants during a lockdown, which is something I'll have to ask Luz about later."

Beside her Clover smiled and happily buzzed around her " Became my best friend, gave that fake emperor a wallop, Oh and you and Amity destroyed that evil alarm thingy."

"Thanks Clover and you to Camila I needed this."

"Of course my dear, and if you want, I could comb your hair. But only if you think it's okay."

She thought about it for a moment before nodding as Camila gently undid her other braid before running her comb through it humming as she did so. To Willow the entire experience was extremely calming. "You have such beautiful hair Willow. I can only imagine what it might look like if it was longer."

"I've been letting it grow out lately. Dad and papa are always saying I'll look amazing no matter what style I have."

"Sounds like you have good parents. Care to tell me a bit about them?"

Her feet starting to swing in her usual excited way she thought about them. "Well dad is an abomination witch like Amity but mostly works on pocket abominations and while occasionally making figurines of people and families."

"Tell her about the private collection of mini Willows"

"Cover it's not a collection just a few he's made of me growing up." The words said aloud Camila let out a motherly "aaawwwww that's adorable." Making Willow groan unable to stop herself from remembering all the times her dad had proudly proclaimed each one was his best one.

"And what about your papa? Is he also an abomination witch?"

"No papa is a construction witch, so he uses his magic to shape and mold the ground beneath him. Mainly he works as a construction architect, so he doesn't get his hands dirty as much."

"And I'm sure that you're their precious little flower?" Willow's face went deep red not wanting to admit it.

Doing her best she tried not to laugh at the sight as she finished braiding. "There we go nice and ready to face the day."

Her braids restored and her mind to filled with embarrassingly good memories of her parents she gave Camila a quick hug.

"Thank you again for well everything really."

"Like I keep telling you all it's my pleasure really. In fact I've been trying and sadly failing to start a garden in the backyard. So if you're feeling up to it-"

Her eyes flashed green her magic stirring hearing the magical word "garden"

"Really you have a garden!?"

"Sadly right now it's little more then a large pile of dirt and seeds. Never had much of a green thumb I'm afraid, better suited to healing animals then growing plants. But after breakfast I can show you and who knows maybe you can show me what I've been doing wrong. We could even grow some vegetables like tomatoes or zucchini maybe some potatoes." Hopefully lowering our food budget as well.

Willow hearing all this was ecstatic. Ever since fending of the coven leader at the school she'd been unable to get back into working on her beloved plants. Not to mention she always wanted to try growing her own food.

Human fruits and vegetables are so delicious! Not to mention none are alive. You just grow and eat them instead of doing your best to ignore their screams as you cook them.

Camila led her downstairs with Clover happily flying after them earning another gentle head pat from the both of them.

Camila enjoyed listening as Willow talked about all the different types of dangerous and often witch eating plants she knew while also asking about human plants.

Camila was simply happy seeing the smile on the young girls face but also a bit anxious as there were still three other young witches and Luz who no doubt had similar fears and worries.

One child at a time Camila, one child at a time.
