We were walking through SHIELD. Supposebly, Nick had someone up his sleeve to help us with this mission. It was a difficult mission. Even for the Avengers. So I'm curious as to who could help us.
"She's just through here." He said, leading us through a hall filled with doors.
She? Thank god. I don't think I can handle another man.
"Who exactly is she, sir?" Steve asked,
"Her name is Wanda Maximoff."
'That doesn't seem like an American name.' I thought.
"She's from Sokovia. In Europe."
'Called it.'
"How exactly will this Wanda character be able to help us?" Tony asked,
"Well, she's enhanced."
"Enhanced? Like she has powers?" I inquired,
"Yes." He replied, "Would you like to know what she can do?"
We all nodded.
"Ms. Maximoff's powers are special. Not like any we've seen. No, her's are different. She's powerful. Dangerous in the wrong hands."
He continued, "All we have calculated so far are, telekinesis, energy manipulation, and some form of neuroelectronic allows her to both read thoughts and also give her targets waking nightmares."
"Dam-" Tony started,
"I'm not done."
This girl is powerful.
"She can warp reality at will. Levitation, telepathy, energy absorption, and energy projection. Same with teleportation, force fields, clairvoyance, even in her dreams, connection with mystical forces, climate control, elemental control, time control, healing, empathy, she can also force people to feel certain emotions. Illusion, immobilization, invisibility, energy manipulation, power manipulation, necromancy, astral projection, tracking, transmutation, technomagic, and flight. Last two, chaos magic and witchcraft."
"Oh, that makes sense. She's a witch." Tony said,
"Can she control her powers?" Steve asked,
"To a point. Her powers work on autopilot. She could be doing something without even realizing it."
"That's incredible." I said.
I meant it. This Wanda is powerful. She could take all of us combined.
"The thing I'm sure you guys might not like is her age."
"What about it?" Steve questioned,
"Wanda Maximoff is 14 years old. She'll turn 15 next week."
"She's just a kid." Clint muttered,
"Before I open this door I gotta let you guys know some things about Wanda."
We waited for him to continue, "Wanda Maximoff is a native of Sokovia who grew up with her fraternal twin brother, Pietro. Born with the latent mythical ability to harness Chaos Magic. She developed a hatred against you, Tony Stark, and rallied anti-American protests after the Novi Grad Bombings killed her parents at age 10."
"That's just great. So she hates me, obviously." Tony said,
Poor kid. Her parents died at such a young age.
"Years later, HYDRA members disguised as SHIELD workers took Wanda and Pietro. To undergo various experiments with the Mind Stone. Unfortunately, Pietro did not survive the experiments, when they were 11. Wanda however did, the Mind Stone awoke and amplified Wanda's powers. Soon after we caught sight of her and brought her here. Her english isn't very good, so go easy on her with that."
"Poor kid. She lost her parents and brother." Clint said to me,
I nodded, "And then taken to a foreign country, I know that was hard."
"Here she is." He opened the door.
Inside was a brunette girl. She was small. She wore heavy eyeliner, and a lot of rings. Her fingernails were painted black. She wore the typical Shield uniforms. They were also black. Her cheeks were a little sunken. Indicated the fact that she needed to eat more.
She was sitting on her bed. Or more so levitated a few feet above her bed. Scarlet tendrils of magic flowed around her. A book was placed right in front of her. The pages were turning by themselves. Her eyes were closed. I don't think she knows that we're here.
"Right. She's a witch." Tony pointed out.
"Wanda." Nick called out for her. All though he steered clear of the magic.
Her eyes shot open. Green orbs glancing at all of us. Until they landed on Tony.
Oh no.
She immediately got up, "Stark." She called out, her accent was deep and heavy.
Just like mine was when I first came to America.
"Wanda, calm down."Fury placed his hand in front of Wanda to block her from coming any closer.
"Calm down? Why are all these people here? Why is he here?" She was angry, her green eyes turned a glowing red. All of us stepped back.
"Wanda. I'm sorry I didn't tell you. But you have to calm down, so we can explain."
"What?" She asked,
"She probably doesn't understand what you're saying. You're talking too fast." I told him.
"Let me." I stepped closer to Wanda, which caused her to step back.
"Ne volnuysya. My zdes' ne dlya togo, chtoby navredit' vam. My prosto khotim pogovorit', malysh. My nuzhdayemsya v tvoyey pomoshchi. Pozhaluysta '' I said, her eyes widened at the use of the language. I could tell she hasn't heard it in while.
"Ty Chernaya Vdova. YA slyshal o vas ran'she. V istoriyakh. Chto vy, rebyata, khotite ot menya?" She asked, her eyes still staying the same shade of scarlet.
"My zdes' ne dlya togo, chtoby navredit' vam. Pozhaluysta, nam nuzhna vasha pomoshch'. Pover'te mne." I said, in a soft tone.
Her eyes went back to normal. "Are you ready to talk, Agent Maximoff?" Nick asked her,
"..yes." She muttered,
We all walked to a room at the end of the hall. Wanda stayed close to me for some reason.
"Just through here." Fury opened a door, motioning us inside.
When we all were situated in front of a glass window, Nick took Wanda to the other side.
"Just in case." He muttered to us.
We were able to see and hear everything that's going on on the other side. But they can't see or hear us.
"Alright Wanda. Are you ready?"
"..Yes"
"Good, I would like to explain some things to you. Is that all right?"
"Yes."
"You remember what we were training you for, correct?"
"To help the Avengers, when they need it." She replied robotically. As if she practiced how to say it before.
"That's correct. See, they need your help now."
"Now? Why didn't you warn me?"
"It was a very last minute decision, Wanda."
"..Oh"
"So, it would be nice for you to cooperate. Because this is an extremely difficult mission."
"And if I don't cooperate?"
I looked at everyone, not liking where this was going. I could tell they thought the same.
"You have to corporate Wanda. Or else."
"Or else what? You'll send me back to Hydra?"
I saw Steve slightly flinch at the mention of Hydra.
"You know I won't do that Wanda. But I will do whatever I have to."
"What kind of mission is it?"
"The violent kind."
"Do I have to use my powers?"
"Yes. You do."
"I don't know."
"It's okay Wanda. You've been practicing. You won't lose control."
She looked at the glass. She couldn't see us. But I felt as if she was staring into my soul.
"When do we leave?"
"Today, Wanda. The Avengers will take you back to the compound. You'll go over plans and strategies over there. This mission will take a while. So they got you a room over there. Just till' it's all done."
She nodded, taking in all the information.
"Alright, I'll do it."
